A letter for a sad case that moved me
Posted 7 years agoToo bad I can't add photos in this section. On my FB page I attached a pretty picture to this letter provided by the kind Felix the Fox.
I wish him a lot of strength in these hard times!
My thoughts are with you these days, RC Fox, who left us way too soon with only being 33 years.
I also think of your family, who lost a son, a brother, a cousin, and of your true friends who lost a dear companion.
I know I never had the chance to get to meet or talk to you, but the warm words and compassion of some as well as the blind contempt of others have moved me.
That is why I'm writing you these words.
You who couldn't find any other way out of the maze of your dispair.
Theatened by law and hunted by deamons. Both your inner demons and the ones on social media.
Cruel, cold-hearted demons who would rather see you dead than to bethink of the values of the furry community of which they ever so proudly claim to be part of. Their eyes are too shrouded by prejudice than to give you a shred of understanding and sympathy.
Driven into fog you appearently couldn't even see the hands of the ones who tried to reach for you and tried to help you out.
Your suicide puts us all to shame.
Society failed to protect you and the community you used to seek shelter in failed to support you the moment your mask has fallen and revealed you are not just a fursona, but merely human.
After all I've been reading about you I know in life you shall be remembered as a caring, talented person and furry, who brought joy to people.
But in death you stand as a memorial. Reminding us of all our inadequacies.
Showing people where the path of hatred and social exclusion leads.
For those tarry vultures to see and understand. So they can feel remorse and wash their sticky plumage clean, for then to fly beyond their own horizon and never let this happen again.
Then your death wouldn't have been in vain.

Eurofurence 2018 Anticipation
Posted 8 years agoWe've just received the mail from EF orga that we couldn't get a room for this year's convention again.
Even the waiting list is already packed and closed.
So if someone with a big heart under the fur and scales has some space in their rooms, we would be very happy if you would consider to share some room with us. :3
Please leave a message!
With hugs and kisses,
Cupido

Posted 8 years agoFinally I found time to write and translate my experience report about Eurofurence 23.
Enjoy! :D
This year's Ef really had a lot in store for me.
Despite all preceding odds, it became my highlight of the year so far.
And when I say odds I mean the stones, no, the boulders on our road that almost overshadowed our anticipation.
Like many other fuzz butts we had trouble booking a room in the Estrel hotel and in the end we didn't get one. In addition we couldn't find many people offering us a shower before the con started and we were worried to be too much of an inconvenience to those we had found.
Beside that we had to leave a few suits at home and the ones we brought along had to be kept inside the suiter's lounge or the security locker system due to the shortage of space for the first time. We were not used to that and therefore this required a lot of trust from us.
But hey, all of this couldn't get us down and so we rented an admittedly shabby old, but also low priced camper and slept almost at the Estrel's doorstep.
Adventurous like we are, it didn't take long till the Adventure found us.
Right after our first night we found out all the nice little wholes for better circulation of air hidden in the camper.
The sudden rain helped us with this and conjured the lovely and rustic ambience of a flowstone cave right into our living area. Which basically was only a big bed.
That was the moment the idea was born to pimp our windows with nice blue trashbags.
Because of those it was also way darker in the mornings. Very practical!
As a nice addition the door to the camper could not be locked from the inside.
So we had to improvise to prevent the unwanted people visiting us at night.
A stick did this job well.
But fate was about to test us once again.
In one night I was with some new friends at their room, for a chat of course, while my two tired bunnies had seeked the warm embrace of our burrow in the streets.
Then, as the new day was a dawning, I received a desperate call.
An attempted burglary!
Some unknown male pedestrian gentleman was shaking on our door and burst it open with force.
Immediately all sleeping residents awoke and barked the intruder away.
This guy not only closed the door, but also took the padlock and put it in position the moment the door was closed.
My poor puppies were trapped inside.
Without any hesitation and instantly, wondrously sober, I rushed along the hallways, through the lobby and down the Estrel's gateway straight to the camper.
After the release we could sleep with great relief.
Relief also spread in the bathroom situation.
I proudly learned to overcome my disgust and to use the Estrel's public toilets with a package of moist toilet tissues.
Furthermore so many people quickly and generously helped us out and let us take a shower at their rooms.
A very special thanks to all our sponsors! You know who you are.
Thanks for tolerating us!
It is because of this shower situation that we were able to get in touch with interesting new people and also deepened connections with some older friends from past years. That's why it made me think about doing that again next year even in case we will get a room for ourselves. ^^,
Getting in contact with those people showed me again that I don't have to be afraid of approaching someone unknown.
Like in the old saying: A stranger is just a friend you don't know yet. :3
Indeed I was even more open minded, sociable and bolder than ever before at EF.
Only a few years to come and I will finally be able to talk to sempai. X3
Many people I noticed in the past finally crossed my paths by the threads of fate. Not even the language barriers could keep us from realising that we have a lot in common.
Other already familiar faces never approached me again or even replied to my messages, whilst still others proved to be real friends this time by being caring, thoughtful, interested and also gave solace in moments of need.
Yes, I really fell in love again this time at Eurofurence.
Thanks a lot to all this kind people who lend us a hand and supported us; for the opportunity to make great experiences; for all the fur I was allowed to fondle and to those who did the same to me!
Also thanks for all the tears I shed over the time and while suitwalking through the lobby one last time on sunday. I cried tears of joy and tears of pain.
And one last very cordially "Thank you!" to a very special horsie that warmed my heart this year and will probably never get to read this. ;)
I honestly feel privileged.
Lots of love to those who spend their lifetime on reading this!
At last, my soundtrack of Eurofurence 23 is indeed a german song this time:
Mia. - Fallschirm ft. Gregor Meyle
Enjoy! :D

Supporting a good thing
Posted 8 years agoHi everyone!
Recently the dear "TheWorldIsDrunk" started to watch me and while browsing through his profile I noticed that he and his dear companion are in need.
His dog Niema is suffering from a torn ACL. (Für meine deutschsprachigen Fans, das bedeutet ihr vorderes Kreuzband ist gerissen)
So I would like to make their story more public and help them to raise the amount of money they need to have the surgery.
Niema deserves a pain free life to walk and swim and play with joy again.
Support them on:

Bad Luck with Eurofurence this year.
Posted 9 years agoWell, bad news today.
Due to the horrible new booking system of the Estrel, we weren't able to get a room.
And that in spite of getting up early and trying for hours.
We wrote a mail to the registration and now we wait for them to respond.
For now I'm glad that many furries already got their rooms booked and things start to settle.
So, keep your fingers crossed for us. :3

Update about my Eurofurence Experience and other stuff
Posted 9 years agoThis entry as about Eurofurence and some other things people might have interest in.
Eurofurence was awesome again.
Regarding panels I enjoyed the fursuiting workshop panels the most.
The "Out of the filth and into the fun"-panel was the worst I've ever been to. O..o
Also I wish I could have enjoed the Pawpet Show more after all the hype I heard about it.
I met a few new people just by being at the right place the right time. Just the way I like it.
Some people know I despise smart phones because of many things, like urging people to be available 24/7.
The down side is, when I met those new people and we say "sure we'll meet again later on" that never happens because we underestimate the sheer mass of people attending the convention.
So I plan to get a smartphone for future conventions to at least have the opportunity to get in touch with people directly and get aware of room partys and such.
We're still in the moving process and therefore I'm a little stressed and it takes time for me to reply.
Some movies we've recently seen in cinema:
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
- Suicide Squad
- Blair Witch
Series we're currently watching:
- Kalkofes Mattscheibe: Rekalked (again and I can't get enough)
- Family Guy
- American Dad!
- Bob's Burgers
- Naruto: Shippuden
- True Blood (Alexander Skarsgård = )
Series we recently finished:
- Ef - A Tale of Memories
- Ef - A Tale of Melodies
- Ergo Proxy
- Queer as Folk (again)
Games I recently finished:
- Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic
- King's Field II
- Eternal Ring
- Everybody's gone to the rapture
Games I currently play:
- Doom 3
- Game of Thrones (Telltale Game)
- Vampire Rain: Altered Species
- Croc (faulty disc, have to let it fix -.-)
- Amy (darn game doesn't save, have to wait for an update)
- Rayman 3
- Stories: Path of destinies
My boys currently have a heavy Dark Souls-frenzy. I never played one of it but still am a huge From Software-Fan due to King's Field Series.
I'm very proud and anxious because yesterday I finally ordered Zoomania (german version of Zootopia), one of the best movies released this year and preordered Rise of the Tomb Raider, one of the best games released this year.
It already gets me exited. ^^,
Maybe some of you can relate.
Update:
Both finally arrived. We watched Zootopia while my nice was visiting us and it was awesome again. :D
I'm playing "Rise of the Tomb Raider" and I don't get enough sleep anymore. X3
Lots of love to you all!

About Attending NFC 2016
Posted 9 years agoHi guys!
I have rather bad news to announce this time.
Although I've planned this for almost 6 month now, corresponding with Hotel Nynäsgården to get a room for us three and saving money to make everything fit, we most probably won't attend the Nordic Fuzz Con this year.
It even gets me teary eyed writing this because I would really love to and tried so hard.
I've never been to Sweden before.
The reason why is that we simply can't find a capable person who might be able to watch our dogs in this period.
We do have one helping otter friend who watches them for short periods but he doesn't go for walkies because our dogs are rather difficult to handle.
They have a will of their own, the dalmatian is also deaf and doesn't like strangers and both on a leash in Berlin can be a piece of work.
That's also why we can't let them stay in a boarding facility. If something happens, we are miles away.
We probably wouldn't sleep easy knowing them in such a place surrounded by strangers anyway.
So, hopefully we will manage to come next year. But if we do, we most likely will visit Japan at some time as well. ^^,
Stay safe,
Your Söckchen

(Little Late) New Year's Greetings & Announcement
Posted 10 years agoHi everyone of you who follow my account!
I had a very busy start in to the new year with a personal party at home and I spend my time with my boys as long as vacation lasted.
Hope you all are healthy and none of you got burned. :]
I am very excited to tell you that Cupido applied for the 2016's calender made by
and we had a very special fotoshooting to make a whole new set of pictures for it.
This calender was only available for ordering for a short time at our regulars table in berlin and shows only berlin fursuiters.
Askopup and Slushie also applied for it as well and got lucky to be selected.
Without me knowing, my hun Döggchen (Slushie) gave up on his participation and made his slot a gift for me.
I found out about it now and am speechless and could't be happier. ^^,
A personal selection of those pictures will be published here soon.
Stay tuned for it ;)

Still Looking For Graphical Material of Cupido
Posted 10 years agoThis is a kind request to all fluffies and scalies out there who might have taken pictures or videos of Cupido during the Eurofurence 21, that I haven't already uploaded until now.
I will be very thankful if you would send them to me or let me know where I can find them. =3
Thanks a bunch for your support!
Best regards,
Soeckchen

Eurofurence and aftermath
Posted 10 years agoA warm Hello to everyone!
The Ef 21 is over for 4 days now and I wanted to write down a few things about it.
It's funny that a convention had such an impact on me.
I haven't slept much at the con and I still have problems to get asleep at home because I'm much too excited, still.
I still treasure the flame in one hand and dry my tears with the other one.
Meeting lots of interesting furries from all over the world was a great pleasure. Almost like a dozen summer lovings. ^^
There where lots of great performers and I learned so much while being the very first time around with Cupido in fullsuit.
Thanks to everyone for giving me some of the best days this year!
I don't care about christmas, easter oder even my birthday. I would instantly trade them all for another EF now. XD
Big thanks also to all the kind people who hugged me and gave me good advice and so much positive feedback!
That means more to me than I can describe.
You cut straight to the heart of me.
And so sorry for all the ones I didn't hug that would have liked to get hugged.

Fursuit Maker Wanted =3
Posted 10 years agoHi folks!
Some time ago, I bought me a fullsuit from the U.S. and despite my expectations, the body does not fit because I am too tall. Q..Q
I would like to change the body but this wiould probably cause a major kerfuffle, if it's not completely impossible.
So I decided to let me make a new one, suitable to head and paws.
But, the original maker as well as another fursuit builder I like are completely busy for an indefinite period. :(
So hereby I am looking for an experienced fursuit builder who is open for commissions and able to build me my dream suit. ,,=^..^=,,

Doberman Art
Posted 10 years agoI recently noticed there is a (fast growing) lot of doberman art here and at other art sharing forums around which draw a wrong image of these breed.
That makes me feel so sad.
Do people, especially furry artists, actually know doberman usually have sloppy ears and a long tail by nature?!
To depict doberman and other breeds like pitbulls with cropped ears implicate those dogs have to look that way.
But it's animal cruelty they're supporting.
Just because it might be legal in your country doesn't mean it is right.
Please think about what this means to your sense of responsibility.
Those are truly beautiful breeds that don't deserve to be treated like that.
Nevertheless, I wish you all happy furry holidays! ,,=^..^=,,
