Posted 8 years agoHey again everybody! It's time for my annual journal again! yaaay! *confetti*
The last year has been interesting, finally graduated, but it didn't help me get a job I really want, I'm actually thinking about going back to school to get a degree in something not useless! My current job is outside a lot so I am slowly dying in the summer heat/sun. I do get to see some cool urban wildlife though!
Me and the blue derg are still living in our cozy (cramped) and poorly insulated apartment, but I would say overall we are happy! Still playing far too many video games and swapping between WoW and FFXIV on updates since we can't really be bothered to play the grindfest too often.
Anywho, yes i'm still alive, and sometimes getting arts, I can hardly resist the occasional luxury, so yeah expect more of that. I finally cleared out my profile info after I read it a few times and couldn't stop cringing silently. Writing is unfortunately still on hiatus, not sure if I will be getting back to it anytime soon, but I am planning on it!
Anyway, that's all. See you next year!

Life!
Posted 9 years agoHey all you cute/sexy watchers. Social time has been a bit restricted lately given work keeping me busy as well as...FINALLY finishing school. I will be graduating this spring at last, and since I work in education I will have the summer off as well, hoping to really decompress and get back into some vidya games and streaming.
I am planning to stream The Solus Project again once it is completed, so look forward to that sometime in the beginning of June or maybe earlier! No Man's Sky is coming out soon as well, and i'm really looking forward to it, might stream that as well.
Finally, writing. Yes I feel like i've kinda written myself into a corner in my story right now. I always knew where to go previously, but now my vague gesturing for the direction of the story requires more definition once I start actually writing it. Nevertheless, I am planning to get back on it, and hopefully finish sometime before the end of this year with my original yet highly cliched fantasy story.
Also, i'm getting more art lately, so that's a thing! :V

chase was wanting his horde of loyal subjects to grow I decided to expand and im going to try and do a status type update daily. Anyways, yes, I am writing chapter 7, and I want to get it done before the end of June and maybe chapter 8 by July. Also, Kansas summers suck. You do not want to live here!

Life update, and maybe writing again!
Posted 10 years agoSo it's been a long long time since my last journal, a lot has happened, moved out, got an apartment with my mate, student taught, changed my major, got a job at a middle school, and some other cah-rayzy things! Anywho, since I work in a school now, I have summers off, and I'm really. really really really gonna try and get a few chapters done, and maybe finish my storyline. I have kinda hit a block and I don't want to have to Deus Ex my story to make it go, so i'm waiting for some inspiration for later chapters, but nothing is really in the way for the next aside from its scope.
In others news I've made a few new friends over the last year (you know who you are!) and gained some watchers who might become friends (Who knows!) at some point. Gained a lot of new watchers that I want to make some content for, want to get some more commissions, other stoof. Things are a lot more stable now, and only getting more stable so there isn't much stopping me from buckling down and writing. Remember, your interest in my writing is the #1 motivator for doing it, so please let me know if you enjoy it! I certainly don't right just for myself!

Writing again!
Posted 12 years agoHello everyone! I have been working hard on part 6 of my story, and it should be complete within the next few days or weeks! In related news, I may just have to make it more than 10 parts, my story boarding is so far showing it might be a tight squeeze to get it into 10. Maybe if I cut out a sex scene or two, but who wants that haha!
Also once the series is done, I plan to make many short stories placed in the same universe but taking place at different times, some during, some after, and maybe even some before the main story. Stay tuned everyone, and of course, stay classy FA.

Sollus' Adventures Part 5
Posted 13 years agoWell, I just uploaded part 5 of my story, i hope you all enjoy it even if there is no sexy timez, the story is really going to take off now, you will have a constant antagonist to hate all the way to the end of the planned story, and I'm so happy that anyone who reads it chooses to take time out of their life and read about the world i'm creating. My next project is to get that map made I was planning to do and upload it. With the story leaving the immediate vicinity of Temaria its important that I show the world in its entirety. I may even write a brief paper about the story of the world and the current political climate as it has been hinted at somewhat. Till next time, enjoy the thrilling conclusion to the first half!

Writing Hiatus
Posted 13 years agoThis school semester has been kicking my ass so I haven't had much time to write of late, but rest assured I am working on the next chapter when I can and it will be done eventually, there's a lot of fighting and those scenes can take a lot of work. I am also working on creating a map to give a better idea of the world I have set the story in. Stay tuned! Im not done yet!
Is Writing art?
Posted 13 years agoWhile I was at college the other day sitting among a large group of people someone made the statement "writing is a sub-par genre to art, as an artist can convey more in a picture than a writer can in 2 pages of text." Since i didn't know the person very well I simply chuckled rather than engage them. I suppose this goes to the "picture is worth a thousand words" thing. But, it lead me to ask the question. Is Writing art in the way that drawing is? Can they really be compared against each other?
Well, creative writing that is. Writing and language were originally written for a purpose, to document history, or to inform the masses. Even if writing was based on something fantastical like a mythical god the intent was not to be creative or thought stimulating. I'm not sure when creative writing really took hold, but thinking on the history of conventional literature I daresay it didn't really gain a solid footing as popular media until the 1700s and possibly didn't even exist until the renaissance.
you may think this implies that painting, or drawing, is older than creative writing. But oh-ho! Really until the renaissance, like writing, art was created to inform, as propaganda, or to celebrate a religion. As such, I think typical "art" as a whole is much younger than most people think it is.
So back to the original question. "Is writing art?" I think so, yes. However, I'm not going to put writing and drawn art up against each other and decide which is a better medium. Each has distinct advantages. Art can be perfected, details can be emphasized, an artist is constantly improving their craft and getting better. But, the same can be said of the writer. Conveying emotion through either art or writing can often take the same amount of skill. Complex scenes give both the writer and the artist trouble at times. Writing does have one advantage though. It is easier to get started. I picked up writing because I don't have the time to really dedicate myself to a craft like drawing or painting. Easier to get started, just as hard to perfect?
This is all just a morning brain exercise, so don't take anything to seriously. any thoughts?
