General | Posted 2 years agoI expected a bit of a slowdown in my writing for the holidays, but not as bad as it has been.
As of tomorrow, I'm going to be back on track, with everyone gone, all the holiday stuff taken care of and just ready and raring to go.
4 and 5 of Really Rather Disproportionate will be done end of week, and I'm about to post the first part of Foxwood's - A Birthday To Remember not long after.
A little tease of that...
“Come on Jenn, one more place. I saved the best for last!” Sam barked, taking his friends hands into his and pulling. “You’re celebrating your nineteenth, you gotta see everything! And this place is fucking awesome.” The ferret dooked excitedly as he began pulling him toward a nondescript looking door that stood between a curry restaurant and a Chinese buffet on the edge of was was considered Toronto’s gay village.
Jenn sighed a bit and shook his head in wonderment at how animated and excited his roommate was, even after having had four times the alcohol that Jenn himself had before declaring himself done. He’d never really liked how it made him feel, but he had conceded the point when Sam had said it was a tradition for queer guys from Toronto South Tech to go out to Church Street’s village on their birthday. He and the ferret had spent at least an hour at every single one of the five major bars there, but the whole time Sam had said the big surprise was still coming. Given all the leather and buckles he’d seen at Meatlocker, he couldn’t imagine what could be more surprising than that.
“Fine. Fine! One last place, okay? Promise?” Jenn asked plaintively. He was getting tired, though he had to admit that it had been a thrill to go into a lot of the places that he’d been barred from entering just the day before.
“Jeez, bunny, you know I’ve saved the best for last,” Sam said, grinning. Jenn grumbled a bit, envying the fact that the ferret didn’t seem to be feeling any of the copious quantities of alcohol that he’d imbibed. When they reached the doorway, Sam put a handle on it. “It’s one of their special nights, so place is going to be packed. You think you saw some awesome stuff at Meatlocker, you’re gonna lose your shit here.”
Jenn stared dubiously at the featureless black metal door with nothing more than a chrome-plated rigid handle on it. Next to it was a small card reader with a red LED shining on it. “This place. It doesn’t even have a name on the door, Sam. And it’s locked. Now I know you’re just fucking with me. Come on, let’s-” He stopped as Sam produced a card from his jacket pocket and pressed it to the reader. The LED turned green and the door let out an audible click. “Oookay, not creepy at all.”
Sam let out a sound somewhere between a giggle and one of his species’ distinctive dooks, and pulled the door open, gesturing for Jenn to go in first. The sight that greeted him was, initially, confusing. The foyer of whatever this place was was spotless, with bare white walls unadorned by even any signs. On the far side of the room though, there was an almost ornate looking oak door that looked like it would belong in a castle. Eight letters were stamped into the middle of the door, forming one word. ‘Foxwood’s’

Though the preponderance of my stories is in the weird, insecty tentacle egg-laying weirdness kind of scale, I am willing to explore other themes and honestly, would very much like to. And so this commission is open for ANY pairing, with the following content hard 'nos'.

3. I will write 1-2 pages of the tale. This gives me the chance to figure out if the story will flow properly and help me decide if I can complete the story. If / when I feel confident that I can complete the commission, I will ask for payment.
4. I will periodically contact you with progress updates, and any questions or clarifications I may need. Included will be snippets and paragraphs of the prose. Should you find yourself unsatisfied with the in-progress prose to the point you wish to cancel the commission, you will only receive a refund based on how much of the project is completed.
5. Within 30 days of payment, I will deliver the first draft. It will have gone through a basic proofread. Upon delivery of the first draft, there will be no refunds.

4. I will periodically contact you with progress updates, and any questions or clarifications I may need. Included will be snippets and paragraphs of the prose. Should you find yourself unsatisfied with the in-progress prose to the point you wish to cancel the commission, you will only receive a refund based on how much of the project is completed.
5. Within 30 days of payment, I will deliver the first draft. It will have gone through a basic proofread. Upon delivery of the first draft, there will be no refunds.

The Project
General | Posted 2 years agoWhile taking a break from Really Rather Disproportionate, I've expanded on the idea from A New Toy. I've been wanting to attract a bit more attention that isn't just bugs and tentacles and slime, and I DO love rubber and latex. So, right now I'm working on 'Wearing Misha'.
The vixen who owns Purgatory, a club in one of the previous stories, makes a return, but they aren't a vixen this time. Sleek and tall, he is himself covered in latex of black and navy blue. It's the first real indication that Misha is more than just the propietor. They are a demigod of pleasure and passion, of hidden desires and surrender. And they want to claim someone new to take back to Purgatory.
Keep an eye out. 750 words this morning.

I'm pausing briefly on Chapter 3 with kaidavali's permission, to make an offer to each and every one of you who have favourited my writings, or watched me. It's the sort of thing I'm going to do on occasion for folk on my SubscribeStar, which I'm going to launch once Chapter 3 is done.
Chapter 3 deals with what happens after the lovely creatures in the tank get their hands on the adorable avali. In order to propagate those parasites, Kaida's going to need a goodly amount of cum, and Doctor North and his colleagues will be happy to provide. Now we have a nice middle aged and slightly paunchy otter in the mix, but how much fun would it be to just have him 'helping' Kaida with his predicament?
So, whomever comments on this journal, and is either watching me or has favourited one of my stories in the past (or does before Friday), will have a chance to have one of their characters/fursonas featured as 'helping' the avali in the role of Doctor North's colleague/assistant. Name, general description, and ah, genital details will be included, as well as overall demeanor.
On Friday I'll select two people at random to insert into the story.

An Idea
General | Posted 2 years agoSo, the SubscribeStar is all but ready. I'll be launching it when I'm done Kaida's story, now called Really Rather Disproportionate.
So I see these artists on FA and other places. They put out something every few days it seems like. But my stories really take a lot longer than that, and I expect I'm only going to be able to put out at most one every two weeks maybe two in three weeks. 500 words minimum each day is about 3500 words a week. Dangerous Experimentation was over 10,000 words with both parts combined.
Either way, I had an idea to increase at least the number of things that I post. Instead of dropping my stories in one big lump, I have the thought to split them into chapters and release those chapters with a bit more frequency.
It would drive up the number of posts that I make, making my stuff more visible, and create anticipation for the rest of the story. It also allow me to do more detailed serial stories.
What do you all think?

General | Posted 2 years agoSo, lots of watches and faves coming in on here and on SF. Still trying to figure out what other sites would be worth it to post my stories.
I can't believe that I've had 3 paid commissions this month, and finished them during that time. And the wonderful Kaida has commissioned one more, which will end up being on the long side of things.
I worry sometimes about being pigeonholed into a theme, but people seem to love the twisted, wriggling things I write about. I may not work on vanilla stuff much at all, but all the same I'll still branch out into adjacent things. I still have the old Transformation Labs stuff, and Misha's Purgatory (latex and mummification, bdsm) that I want to get back to. Nothing wrong with being seen as a purveyor of more spicy kinds of smut, right?
I'm riding high right now, and hope that this becomes more regular.
Really Rather Disproportionate - maleherm/infestation/male/sounding/wormthings - conception phase - As said before, Kaidavali snapped up a slot! I haven't named it, but I'm already confident enough to say I'm working on it. I'll be up bright and early tomorrow morning working on this. Kaida the avali is sneaking into the xenobiology lab on a university campus to play a prank on someone, but he ends up going somewhere he REALLY shouldn't and breaks open a specimen case. What gets hold of him will be far too much for the avali to handle, never mind what will happen when the professor shows up when the weekend is over.
Is This Seat Taken? - 1000 words. f/f with a bdsm tease. This one's a little stalled, mainly because of other paid things happening, but I do want to at least do a few less niche stories, and test myself against something I've not done much of, if at all, though I've RPed a lot.
Meeting One of the Higher-Ups - 2500 words, but redoing a lot. A sort of gift story for dotcom656.sofurry.com, I'm reworking it and redoing a lot to make it kind of fit with two other stories he has.

Every day after work, I have a hard time getting into the groove. It's been a day of physical work, I'm tired, I want to have a beer or a coffee and just veg out playing video games and taking care of my family. Sometimes I have other obligations. But I realized that I find my mind bursting with ideas in the morning, and when I'm at work on my own getting ready to open the store. So I asked my wife to wake me up before she leaves in the morning, a full 1.5 hours before I normally wake. I have to get my sprogs out to school, obviously. But yesterday I did 750 words, and today 975. So now I have a consistent time to really get my work done and hit my minimum 500 words daily.
Dangerous Experimentation #2 - Family Tying - For
kjorteo - 4700 words. I'll be done on Thursday, ready to post on Friday.
I'm almost done with my TOS, and once that's done, I'll be posting that I'm open for a commission.
Anyone know if there's any active furry auction sites anymore? Ideas for places to advertise my stuff?

General | Posted 2 years agoHey folk, I'm doing my best to start posting here a lot more, as well as on SoFurry and Weasyl. If anyone has suggestions of other places to post, please tell me! I had considered AO3, but since I very specifically don't do any Rule 34 anymore, I don't know how relevant I would be there, unless furry stories count as representing furry fandom in general. After a lot of thought, I won't be posting on InkBunny. There's an audience there, sure, but I can't escape the reputation it has, and I don't want to be associated professionally with it.
After next Friday, I'm going to be opening for commissions. I've updated my pricing structure to reflect the time and effort that goes into my writing, and the realization that one should not undervalue their own work. Industry standards for freelance writing can go as high as $0.20/word, and as low as $0.02/word. I've placed myself at the very low end of this. Hopefully the market will bear it.

Dangerous Experimentation Part 2 - Familial Temptations for Kjorteo is about 1/3 done. I split Dangerous Experimentation into two distinct parts because part two features a kink that may be a bit less palatable to some of my readers, but one that I certainly don't mind myself, and that's incest. Our poor coyote, Jessica, had been left trussed up and presented for use by the celkali by the end of Part 1. She thinks she'll be saved, but when her twin brother so convincingly reminds his father that by all they can tell from the video feeds, Jessica wanted what happened, will she really find her salvation? After all, there's also the facility's mysterious Benefactors who are pushing for more product.
The Glurren - Kit's Tale A sort of gift story for
dotcom656 is in the works, inspired by art that Slug did for him, as I'm going to make use of the creature for my own stories. I'm doing this one as a special project after hearing on Writer's Crossing (details about that in the comments) about a one-day-story event. On Friday, November 17 I will aim to write the entirety of the story in a single day. Given that this is likely to be 3000-4000 words, it's quite the order. I might even boot up OBS and stream on Picarto... though I'm not sure people want to read something as it's written.
A Birthday To Remember - Mentioned in a previous journal, this is really only in the overall planning stage. Featuring
Vanyan in an alternate world where he's not a full demon, but an incubus, it's the tale of a newly adult rabbit, Jenn, finding him in Foxwood's, a sex club just off of Toronto's Church Street, owned by Vanyan. Before he knows it, and not entirely without some use of Vanyan's preternatural persuasiveness and magic, he finds himself up on stage, servicing any and all takers while Vanyan claims his rump for the first time. I once had a great deal of this written already, but in the process of changing to a new computer, I lost all but one portion. It's always been there in my 'to do' list, but the loss of my muse for nearly two years left this on hold.
Is This Seat Taken? - This is going to be my first foray into f/f, both as an exercise to broaden my horizons, and to show that I'm not a one-trick pony as it were. I WANT to write more content. I don't want to be typecast into one specific genre / theme. Though from the story itself, my own interests are definitely going to be on display. Alexandra (Adra) Solakis, a twenty-two year old jackal who's moved far east to Waterloo, Ontario from her small town in British Columbia, is taking full advantage of the freedom from her overly religious and bigoted family. Happy to be able to be herself, she openly wears a choker collar with the lesbian Pride colours around her neck. While at a cafe, she finds herself approached by Kseniya Varina, an all-white squirrel in her late 30s. Seni IS, indeed, the same lady featured in Melodies, one of my first stories ever posted. Though the basic setup is very similar to Birthday, I'm aiming for a more intimate and emotional story of self-discovery and personal freedom.
One should always, at first, lean into what interests and excites them, both for visual arts and for literary arts. One theme I've always loved exploring is 'firsts'. First kiss, first lovemaking, first serious relationship. The other is large age differences between characters. Both Birthday and ITST feature these, with Vanyan seeming to be in his early 40s, and Kseniya being late 30s. Though such differences in age can and often are exploitative in real life, fantasy is another story altogether. Keep watching!

Jenn, a rabbit, is celebrating his nineteenth birthday, a chance to be away from family that really doesn't understand him. With a few months of university behind him, he's getting a chance to explore, and he's found himself on Church Street in Toronto. He'd been there before, but until now, he hadn't been able to go into any of the clubs. One in particular, Foxwood's, has always had him curious. He knows of it by reputation, a place where anything goes, where intense delights and unusual experiences abound.
An encounter with the club's owner, based on the wonderful Vanyan, has his shyness and reluctance, and his ability to say no, removed from his mind for just that one night, and he finds himself up on stage. And this, here, is where the YCH part will come in. I'll have three slots available to have your character step in and make use of the bunny. Two in the front, one in the back after Vanyan takes him for the first time. Maybe more.
Entitled 'A Birthday To Remember', you'll see the first half of the story pop up in the next couple weeks, with the attached YCH post with more details.

On FA Policy
General | Posted 2 years agoA while back, a new policy was implemented on FurAffinity, one that I vehemently disagree with.
First, I absolutely respect the effort to keep underage character art and stories off FA. Policing it can be difficult and annoying. Having run an online community at one point, I know it's like whack-a-mole. None of the stories I post will ever feature underage characters, and in the case of those that are younger-seeming by their naivete or inexperience will always have their age stated in the narrative.
I get that these policies may not be something the admins and owner of FA actually wanted. Money talks, and if, as I suspect, their payment processor told them 'you can't make money through us unless you do X', they may have taken every step to comply.
But... the policy as implemented is overreaching and extreme. At this point, it has become a case of shaming specific styles of art and body types. Chibi, shortstack, itty-bitty titties, some popular representations of kobolds, koopa, whatnot, they all fall afoul of the new policy and the admin's interpretation of it. Even intersex / trans boys could, and HAVE been removed from the . So the policy also is low-key transphobic.
Initially I made the decision to not post on FA anymore because of the policy, because artists I like were being scared away. Thing is, FA is one of the biggest sites to get your art noticed, be it written or drawn. So, instead, each submission I have will have a line expressing my displeasure with FA policies. I know it will likely not make a difference, but still, it's what I'll be doing.

Cost is $60 for approximately 4000 words or so, which is about six pages at 12pt Times New Roman, single spaced, with 1 line paragraph breaks.
As with any previous content, I have a few hard limits:

Gore
Scat and Vomit
Toon-characters
Babyfur
Also, I generally will only do Rule 34 on a case-by-case basis. I feel weirdly uncomfortable with a lot of the 90s cartoons, and my one foray into that was very difficult to complete.

Mortality, Friendship, and Lost Contact
General | Posted 4 years agoOne of my favourite stories is 'A Roomie's Secret'. It has a few rough spots, but it was among the first stories I ever posted on FA and SoFurry. I wrote it at a time where I was starting a writing career of sorts, with a few published m/m erotic fiction tales with a now-defunct epublisher, and did it as a gift commission. I lost contact with Ranalas / Marowolf a couple times, but whenever we started talking it was like no time had passed.
My last time speaking with them was in September 2019, a random bit of chatter that was like any other day. I don't know why it was so long since I talked to them. It just happened, you know?
Today, I found out that as of 3:45 EST, they were declared brain dead after a car accident. I'll never just... strike up a conversation with them again. The vague plans we had to someday meet in person... will never come to be.
To all of you out there, with friends they've lost contact with, for no real reason. And for all those who have someone they care about. Tell them you love them. Tell them you care, even if you don't talk much.
You never know when you won't have the chance to anymore.

sanmer's tale, Hypnolizards : Extreme Dinosaurs Edition! is done. There's a tiny bit of editing to do, should be posted pretty soon. This is a tale featuring 
ruaidri's delightful Hypnolizards, and though they couldn't exactly get behind the Rule 34 content, they enjoyed how they were implemented. So expect to see a few more soon.I have two paid projects I'm working on, one through a comissioner on Discord, and one from a couple years ago that I kinda crashed on.

It's interesting, I'd always thought I'd not be able to do a Rule 34 story and play it off seriously and believably. And, indeed, Hypnolizards : Extreme Dinosaurs Edition! was indeed, difficult to write, but not for the reasons I expected.
Did you have ANY idea how hard it is to write a four-character orgy scene? On one couch, you have one dino riding another, while the team leader is getting railed by the one responsible for their state of sexual frenzy. Positions switch, every cock is different. One has ridges. One's tapered. One's very humanoid. One's bumpy. Keeping names, descriptions and positions straight is significantly harder than I'd ever imagined.
But hey, it's done!
I'm sorry for the lack of posts for a bit, got distracted by a half dozen things all at once... and I got some serious demotivation on top of it all.
I should have it posted by Monday.

I've got lots of watchers, and can only get more, right?
So, a peek at what's coming.
My story for rekrith is complete, I've started working on sanmer 's story, entitled "Hypnolizards : Extreme Dinosaurs Edition!". It's a challenge, working with something that's Rule 34, but I'm having fun. And well, four dinos fucking while under the thrall of four adorable hypnolizards IS hot.
I also have a unique commission I'm working on through a user on Writer's Crossing, entitled Accidental Dragon. They've been amazing, just letting me do my thing. It's a story of what happens when a human mage, Jaze, attempts a ritual to strengthen the mental and magical link with Mystwill, her pseudo-dragon familiar. I'm taking the chance to work on combat and a bit of romance. The story will probably be over 10,000 words. I'm writing it from the mage's first person perspective. I'm challenging myself with it, seeing if i CAN write from a woman's perspective. Yes, she'll end up a submissive under her familiar, who has had some... changes. Hopefully make it nice without making it feel problematic.
In the near future, you'll be seeing regular monthly installments of two series, "In Sheep's Clothing." M/m, BDSM and a nice young wolf sub with a ram dominant. "Melodies" is the story of a music student discovering kink with a lovely squirrel mistress and a calico submissive. Each chapter will have a musical name that informs what the tale is about. I started it ten years ago then never finished a second installment. I'm actually confident this time.

They've been amazing, just letting me do my thing. It's a story of what happens when a human mage, Jaze, attempts a ritual to strengthen the mental and magical link with Mystwill, her pseudo-dragon familiar. I'm taking the chance to work on combat and a bit of romance. The story will probably be over 10,000 words. I'm writing it from the mage's first person perspective. I'm challenging myself with it, seeing if i CAN write from a woman's perspective. Yes, she'll end up a submissive under her familiar, who has had some... changes. Hopefully make it nice without making it feel problematic.
In the near future, you'll be seeing regular monthly installments of two series, "In Sheep's Clothing." M/m, BDSM and a nice young wolf sub with a ram dominant. "Melodies" is the story of a music student discovering kink with a lovely squirrel mistress and a calico submissive. Each chapter will have a musical name that informs what the tale is about. I started it ten years ago then never finished a second installment. I'm actually confident this time.

Commissions for rekrith and sanmer, long forgotten since the muse died, are on track to actually be finished within the next week.
I've removed a few stories I really don't want around anymore, and I'll slowly be removing them and reposting them on
rixwrites, once I have A Karmic Clutch and Hypnolizards - Extreme Dinosaurs Edition done.
I think I've really found my groove, and the best way to make sure my writing is happening.

It's been a long time in coming, but I'm going to be closing this account, at least in respect to my writings.
I'm trying to reinvent myself as a writer, and have joined an online community that has done more for me being able to write than I've ever imagined. Engaging with other authors, tracking my word counts, showing my projects. There's validation and engagement with other writers... something I think I might have really been missing.
If I keep to my writings for the next month and finish my current projects, I'll be taking off ALL my writings from here and reposting them on the new account. It exists already as RixWrites, but I"m not going to really advertise until I know I'm able to keep to my new schedule.
Hopefully I can do this. I feel more invigorated than I have in literal years, and over the last week have written more than I have in a year.
