Two new Tumblr pages!
Posted 11 years agoThe first being my new art/cosplay page...
http://tokutakufurcreations.tumblr.com/
While I don't plan on changing my name over here, on Facebook, Tumblr, and Weasyl (which I should probably start using again), I plan on using the Tokutaku Fur Creations name more as 1) I'm not a studio and 2) it feels like it fits way better. So for anyone following the Sombra Studio account on tumblr, that one's no longer gonna be in use. The account above is where I'm gonna post all my art and fursuit/cosplay work from now on.
Also there's my Detective Conan blog...
http://sombratalksdc.tumblr.com/
I get that it's not a popular show, but it's one I like rambling about and drawing stuff for. So I post my DC fan art there as well as talk about the show occasionally. So you can follow for the art, or you can follow 'cause you love the show too. I do wanna open it up as a semi-ask blog (I did call it "Sombra talks DC" after all), but so far it only has 4 followers and I don't get any questions so there's that. ^^;
If you have a tumblr, feel free to follow both pages! :D

Seal/Short Pile Furs and where to find them?
Posted 11 years agoOkay, so I'm looking to get some materials to make a toony version of my Hallofox and most of the colors are gonna be simple enough to find (tans/camel, black, white, pink...). Even in seal furs those are simple to find. But there's a few colors that I would love to find in seal furs. Mostly a light pink and a lavender. Do any of you know of sites that carry these?
Also do you know of sites that have furs in 3-4 in. piles in more colors than black or white? I would definitely love to have some longer fur for the hair poof on her head, inside of the ears, and her cheeks and chest but the only type of fur I seem to find in that length is either only in black or white (reds, pinks, and lavenders is mostly what I'm looking for), or it's Mongolian shag which is okay but I dislike how frizzy it gets if you don't keep brushing it out.

Commission Updates + Future Fursuit Trades(?)
Posted 11 years agoWell I do have a few art trades that I do need to finish already, but still. ^^;
Sorry for being all quiet lately. Between Bronycon, Otakon, and coming back from those trips in an absolutely awful mood I kinda stayed more quiet than normal online (aside from reblogging tons of Detective Conan stuff on tumblr and probably losing followers over that XD).
But I'm getting back to work on these commissions. Rather I'm getting back in the swing of drawing period. I've finished sketching the full body image for Ralphh.0. Gonna try to get through sketching at least one of these expression sheets for IsabellaPrice today.
After I finish up these last few commissions though I'm most likely gonna close commissions for a while. I need to sorta have some fun doing somethings for myself as well as come up with items to sell at KollisionCon in January. But I have wanted to do some more fursuit realted things and get better at suit making. I have a few things that I would love to make (certain animals/mythical creatures, some pokemon, digimon, and FNAF stuff) and I would love to do some fursuit trades. I don't know who'd be up for it. Most I'd be willing to trade is a partial but mostly I wanna focus on doing suit heads.
I'm really only willing to trade fursuit parts for fursuit parts. Or fursuit parts for things like hoodies or kigurumis. Basically sewn goods for sewn goods. Not sure if people would be interested in that sort of a trade though.
Anyways, gonna get back to working on stuff. Luckily I don't have to go in to work today so I have time to work on commissions.

Bronycon Recap!
Posted 11 years agoBack from Bronycon and tomorrow I'll be heading back to Baltimore for Otakon, but for the time being I'll just rest at home.
I took Amtrak to Baltimore (and I'm doing it again) but it's not really a method I'm willing to advise someone to take. You get to see beautiful scenery, but the service I got from the company this time around was enough for me to say that I most likely will not use them again in the future. I'll be willing to shell out more for the security that is a good airline rather than use Amtrak's service again.
But that has nothing to do with the con itself! It was something that did mildly irritate me, but it didn't interfere with my experience of Bronycon as a convention. Since this was my first time going to an MLP con, I didn't really know what to expect. Bronies have somewhat of a negative image online particularly due to that vocal minority of people who are sincerely misogynistic, racist, hateful beings (but you know...what group of people don't have those? Granted defending a comic that turned Princess Celestia into a sexual predator/molester doesn't really help...). It's not that I expected that of the at the con. I just didn't have a set idea of what an MLP convention is like.
Firstly, it's probably the most family friendly/family oriented con I've ever been to. This isn't to say that something like Acen, Otakon, Midwest Furfest, or Anthrocon aren't family oriented. You can completely bring children to those cons as well. However 1) Bronycon does not permit the sale of 18+ items meaning that kids cannot get their hands on NSFW materials and 2) the cosplayers are respectful of the environment that they're in. This doesn't mean that you won't see some ladies or dudes showing skin (one of the prettiest costumes I saw was a lady who did a belly dancer Big Macintosh outfit), but it does mean that I didn't see too many people showing up to an event that is supposed to be for all ages in full out fetish gear which I greatly appreciated. MLPFIM is first and foremost a children's show so I love that the convention keeps that in mind and doesn't strictly cater to only the adult fans.
Secondly, the staff that was in charge of running the vendors area were wonderful! They constantly checked in with all the vendors and asked if everything was okay, if we needed anything, if there was anything/anyone that we were having trouble with and I liked that a lot. I do think that there should've been a bit of a distinction between where the dealer's den ended and where artist alley began but that's really only a minor gripe.
I got to meet some of the crew behind Journey of the Spark (a fan film that sounds fantastic! Unfortunately I didn't get to see any of what was shown during their panel since it coincided with when the vendors area was open). They're all really nice people. I kinda wish I got to talk to them more though. But I'll be following the project now that I know about it because it does sound really good.
Only panel I went to was the Silly Filly Studio's panel. It was mostly Q&A, but they showed their short "Fall of the Crystal Empire" which did King Sombra far more justice than the series (I'm partial to being critical of Sombra since he's got my name...XD). Also they showed two comedy/parody shorts which were hilarious. I did feel kinda bad that some kids kept mistaking them for Jan Animations who's responsible for the animations about Button Mash.
Also I checked out Bronypalooza for about an hour and a half. I mainly just wanted to see Mic the Microphone since I knew he was playing and lucky for me he was third up. I have to say his set was probably the highlight for the entire weekend for me! I walked out of there liking the guy way more than I did when I walked in. If you have never listened to anything by him...I don't even care if you don't like ponies (he does non-pony music too)...he's just that good! And I did get introduced to dBPony who does fantastic music as well!
In terms of sales, I did decent enough. At least I made back the amount I paid for the table. But I promptly used a good chunk of cash going to Philips. Fantastic seafood place...super expensive. XD
I would definitely consider going back to Bronycon. But when I do, I'm bringing a cosplay. That con definitely got me psyched for making a bunch of pony related costumes. Especially my faun Pinkie Pie.
Anywho, that's it for Bronycon! Next up: Otakon!

Bronycon and Otakon Anyone?
Posted 11 years agoWho am I gonna see at either of those cons? :D
Well it might be easier to see me at Bronycon since I have an Artist Alley table there. I'mma have a few tails to sell as well as my charms and then I'm gonna do some at con sketches and some take home commissions (though hopefully I'll keep them as "at-con" commissions).
Hope to see some of you guys there!
Otakon...I'mma be wandering around. I'll have my Zorua suit on me and will wear that some of the time.
I'll be getting back on my normal commissions after those two cons are over with. I'm still prepping for Bronycon and yeah...so the rest of this commission queue will be completed once I get back from both of those cons. Sorry for the delay in work.

Commissioners Please Read! (Small Hiatus)
Posted 11 years agoThis is really for anyone who has current commissions by me.
(Though this doesn't really count for two of my fursuit related commissions as they'll be done in time for Anthrocon.)
I'll be working in Artist Alley at Bronycon and thus I need to create items to sell there. Currently I have...absolutely nothing. So between now and then I need to come up with items to sell there. So commission work will be on a small hiatus (though I'll most likely do sketch work in between items).

No more commissions after my queue is cleared
Posted 11 years agoAt least no more illustration ones.
Drawing as increasingly become a hassle of me and it's become increasingly clear that it's just tough to try to make it with illustrations. If you have nothing to offer, people don't really take you up on anything.
It kinda sucks as I really did work hard to try to build up this illustration thing, but in the end I only learned that my art is only worth something to people if it's highly under priced. Which left me taking way more work than I could handle in a short amount of time and people are still waiting. I'm working through them and I'll get them all done. That much I can say.
But no more illustrations, no more badges, no more chibis...no more. I'm keeping art for myself. It's a hassle to try to cater to other people.
As for hats and fursuit parts, I'll see how I feel about doing commissions for those. At the end of it all I might just selfishly keep all my art for myself. I don't think it would be a "shame" for me to stop taking commissions. I've been doing it for years. For anyone who wanted a chance to buy something there were plenty of times to do so. But I hate the feeling of posting journals and posts advertising for commissions at a regular price that's pretty sustainable and getting no response. I hate working so hard on pictures only to get so little feedback. If I'mma put effort into something, it might as well be stuff that I legitimately have fun with doing.
I dunno...it's how I feel. It's dumb, silly, selfish...whatever, but commissions are stressful and are ultimately not worth it (again on the drawing front...I'll see how I feel about sewing costume parts).

Yes my auction's starting bid is expensive but...
Posted 11 years ago...don't try to lecture me on how no one's gonna bid if the price is too high.
I'm well aware that that's probably the reason no one has paid much attention to it. However!
Let's take into account a few things...
1) It's an 80 page sketch book. My single headshot sketches are typically $7. My full body ones are around $15. Now 7x80=560. 15x80=1200. So even if I did a sketchbook of solely one headshot sketch per page you're getting it at quite a steal from my normal prices since my start bid for this auction is $175.
2) You're most likely getting full sketch pages which I typically charge around $30 (taking off $5 since we're subtracting color). So 30x80=2400.
3) I'm offering adult work in this auction. Granted it's only between 10-12 pages but you have the option for some adult work. It's not the type of stuff I prefer drawing so this is a rare opportunity to get this kind of art from me.
4) I'm still earning less than minimum wage for the amount of work it will take to complete the whole book.
I'm pretty sure I made my points with the first two numbers but this is good enough.
Had someone on twitter try to argue that my price for the starting bid was too high. No. I'm completely done with that. I undersell my work by a lot. A LOT. Those artistic liberty slots...I sold a chibi for $5. It still takes me at least 2-3 hours to complete it (from sketch to color if I work straight through). I'm doing 2-3 hours of work for $5. That's far less than minimum wage. But it is what it takes for me to get work through commissions. I'm well aware of that. Also it's my fault that I made that decision. I know though it's the only way I can earn money. It's bad business, and worse for other artist out there. It gives the impression that art should only be about $20 for something really nice, but that's far from the case. I wish I could afford to constantly keep my prices at a rate that's fair for me, but it doesn't earn me a whole lot. So I teeter between underselling my work and earning at least one normal priced commission a month because that's what work.
I know many artist hate this. And I mean really hate this and quite frankly I hate it to. I hate spending 5+ hours on an image and earning about way less than minimum wage on it, but for the time being it's what's feasible.
Quite frankly even with this auction I'm still earning way less than minimum wage. So if it's too expensive, far be it for me to convince you to bid, but by god...do not sit there and pretend to do me favors by telling me that no one will ever bid on something so expensive. Don't convince me to lower my price for what is fair for my materials and the hours of work I'm going to put in just because you don't like it.

Posted 11 years agoThe auction is still up and still at the opening bid!
For those who have expressed interest in getting adult work from me, this is an opportunity to do so! Even if you cannot bid, if you can spread the word about the auction that would be greatly appreciated.
For those interested in bidding, all the information and the space to bid is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13531267/

Sketchbook Auction is a Go!
Posted 11 years agoAcen, Commission Updates, Bronycon Badges, and Auction
Posted 11 years agoJust got back from Acen earlier today.
The con was okay. Three main things were bad. Firstly two times people attempted to insult me for being a furry. The first not so bad. The second was annoying. Tried not to let it get to me, but I heard their entire conversation of how furries ruin anime cons and such. When they realized I heard them and that I was talking to my friend about it, they're the ones who had the audacity to get pissed about it. Really? Like...you're gonna talk smack about me within earshot of me and you want to get angry about it?! Furries are ruining the con? Not from where I'm standing. It's people who inject negativity into a fun and lighthearted space who are ruining the con.
But also some good things!
Firstly, I got to meet and talk with one of my favorite cosplayers, Brichibi Cosplay. She's such a sweetheart and genuinely kind and wonderful person! Bought one of her books and a Free! Iwatobi Swim Club wood block painting from her. Second, I got to meet and talk with Malcolm Ray. If you watch Nostalgia Critic, he plays the devil in some of the episodes, as well as Black Willy Wonka (probably my favorite XD) and a ton of other characters. He's also really nice and it was great running into him! Also got to see a Final Fantasy orchestral concert which was really beautiful.
So now that I'm back I'm working more on getting through these last few commissions. I don't want to rush them and create an image that is less that what I can do. At the same time, some of these images have been taking a while and I would definitely like to have the queue cleared before Bronycon (earlier than that even if possible). Currently gonna try to finish up Kellster Kitten's badge and the linework for Tekuryuu within the week since these are things I've started on.
Also within the next week or two I'd like to open up for a few badges for preorder for Bronycon. So if you're going or know someone who's going, I'd love to make a badge for you all! I'm aiming to have an example badge done within a week or two so I'll post more info once the example is made.
Also I'll be posting info on the sketchbook auction I mentioned a little later in the week so keep your eyes open for that! Again it'll start at $175 for a fully filled 80 page, hardcover sketchbook.

So seriously...how do you do digitigrade leg padding?
Posted 11 years agoI'm not even kidding...despite the number of tutorials I've looked up and followed, none of 'em have come close to working for me. I don't even understand how you guys pad out body suits and I'm just dealing with some dumb leg padding. I thought I had it, but nope...not even close.
And I hate that this suit feels so close to being done but the only thing really holding me up is this stupid leg padding that I cannot for the life of me figure out. The suit's all sewn. I just can't figure out the stupid leg padding...rather I can't figure out how to put it in. I can figure out how to pattern it out...that part's easy. But adding it in is a whole other can of worms entirely.
So you know...tips...I would love whoever seriously gave me tips so I can finally finish this dumb suit forever. Please? D:

Planned Sketchbook Auction!
Posted 11 years agoNot for right at this moment. Probably for after Acen I'll start that up.
But I do want to give a heads up that it's a thing that I'm gonna do soon just in case people are interested and want to start saving some. Also after giving it some thought it will be a rare opportunity to get something with adult art from me. Granted there's gonna be some rules to that. Mainly:
~Not every image is going to be adult. This is a given. The majority of the sketches I would like to be character studies and not just a book of straight up porn (check my sketch sheets...this is generally what most pages in my sketchbooks look like...minus the color).
~There are many fetishes that I'm very uncomfortable with/not interested in drawing. For sure you can ask about it, but if I say no, the answer is no.
~If I say no to a certain type of image, do not respond with "but you drew it before!"/"you did it for this person!" or do not attempt to push me into drawing it. If at the moment I am not comfortable with drawing a certain thing, I am not comfortable with it. My tastes change a lot. Sometimes I'll be perfectly fine with one subject and sometimes I won't. This is nothing against you personally.
Granted if you just want some cute pretty pictures, you can totally opt out of any adult art. Don't feel like it's a necessary thing.
Either way the starting bid will be $175 (for all 80 pages in the sketch book to be filled with sketches). Depending on where the auction ends, options for color images will be added.
Again, I'm just giving a heads up, but I'm most likely not gonna start this up until after Acen.

So I've learned a lot last night/today...
Posted 11 years agoMostly on what I can or can't accomplish in a short amount of time. I need at least a month and a half to finish a full suit (with padding). Maybe a little less without padding but probably still the same amount of time. I worked myself to the bone. My eyes are sore, I ended up making myself feel sick with stress...
However...
I will so take crying and panicking over finishing a costume over how I feel working a dull customer service type job any day. At the very least when I'm working (or panicking) over a costume, I feel like I'm accomplishing something. While a job gives me a steady paycheck, I can't say that I feel like I'm accomplishing anything with it. I feel like I'm wasting valuable time and I dislike that feeling more than feeling like a complete and utter wreck. I'm pretty proud of what I did get done and how the costume is looking so far.
I do need a ton of rest it feels like though...
Regardless I still like making costumes somehow. I know a lot of people fall out of love with cosplay/costuming when it starts feeling stressful. I don't. I suppose that's what it means to really find something that you love doing. I just gotta remember to not push myself so hard next time. Find a way to slow down on everything that I want to do and make. If I don't, then I won't accomplish anything.
For that reason, I'm thinking of phasing out doing illustration commissions and focusing more on sewing stuff. After I finish these last few commissions of course. I'll still do badges when there's a con coming up (I'll open for Bronycon badges around June or so). I also want to do a sketchbook auction. But in terms of large scale illustrations or my typical character illustrations, probably not so much unless it's an auction.
After this fursuit is done, I may open up for a partial suit or a suit head or two (one or the other). People seem to respond to my fursuit work better than illustrations now, plus I like costuming more than illustrating so I think it's only natural that I gravitate more towards that.
I'll work all that stuff out later. For now, I'm just gonna rest today. I pushed myself too hard with this costume but at least I found out my limit of how quickly I can work. I won't try that again. Next time I wanna do something like this (most likely next year), I'll make sure I've started it way in advance.

I can't do it...
Posted 11 years agoI tried so hard this past month to make a full suit for C2E2's cosplay competition and I was so excited to be a part of it and to be chosen but I can't do it...there's no way I can get this finished and that just...I feel like crying 'cause I tried so hard and worked so hard...I don't even feel like going to the con now...
I'm just so tired and stressed and frustrated...I feel like I let myself down.
This isn't to say that I couldn't finish this. I can easily get it done for Acen...but not in less than 7 hours...there's no way...

Next two weeks will be busy...
Posted 11 years ago...and...interesting. ^^;
Still working on these commissions off and on, though I have been spending most of the time trying to complete my entry for C2E2's "Crowned Championship of Cosplay" deal (god if that isn't the most pretentious name for a cosplay craftsmanship contest I don't know what is! XD). C2E2's in 2 weeks and not a single aspect of this thing is done yet. T__T But I'm sewing the bodysuit now so I wanna have that done in the next two days if possible. The foam work for the head is almost done. I wanna fix the ears though before go on to furring it. Tail and wings'll be pretty easy. I don't think feet will be a big problem either. Mostly the body and the head I'll have to make sure they look their best.
Also I still have my job. I really do wish that we had a legitimate schedule for the job so then I could schedule things around work way better but I don't. They don't give us a straight up schedule for this thing. It's so ridiculous...
Also I now have a gym membership...so that's a thing that I'm starting tomorrow...Ya know...for all my rambling about body size, you'd think I'd be the last person to really care about that stuff. In general I don't. I could really care less about my health at the moment or how I really look on a day to day basis. I ain't a girly girl. Jeans and a t-shirt will suffice. But I do love cosplay and I despise being ridiculed (rather I do not have thick skin and would not take ridicule well). I've accepted the sad fact that racist people will be racist. I can't do anything about my skin tone nor should that dictate which characters I choose to dress up as. But for some reason I still let weight dictate that. It's a hurdle I can't jump over as it's the last acceptable thing to bully people on (as weight is seen as a thing you can and should "fix"). Most likely I won't be happy about it, but it's a lot of money on the line and I tired of throwing a way perfectly good cosplay ideas just because I currently don't feel I can pull them off. I'm sure I'll be talking over goals with the trainer tomorrow. Hopefully she'll be able to understand either where I'm coming from or just accept those feelings. *shrug*
No matter...I'm just super busy. Work and this costume are gonna be taking up most of that time though. But I'm still working on commissions too. Work for 'em has just been a little slowed down for the moment. I'll pick up speed again once this competition is over with.

Just curious...(fursuit related question)
Posted 11 years agoRather fursuit making related question...
Are there any simplified ways of successfully making a DTD?
Probably should've asked it before I made one over the weekend. But yeah...I find that no matter what I do, the process usually leaves me feeling a little ill. Light headed, over heated, etc. This time around it was a bit better 'cause I tried something a little different. Did the legs first, cut up the sides a bit then sat and rested. Did one side of the torso and arms, cut the sides, sat and rested. Did the other side and finished it. Not sure if cutting it like that and sitting will keep it in a good shape. Parts of it are kinda bunched up but yeah...I wouldn't have gotten through the whole thing without possibly passing out. I've made sure there's water, the air conditioning/fans are on, but still the actual issue is making the DTD itself.
Maybe I just have to learn how to make body suits off of measurements or a pattern. The problem then is with doing body padding. Would not know how to add body padding without a DTD...

All of the good news!
Posted 11 years agoC2E2 accepted my entry into their "Crowned Championships of Cosplay" competition!
I haven't made the suit I'm gonna enter into the contest but I've gotten some swatches for fur colors and am gonna make a DTD for it tomorrow. Character I'm gonna cosplay is Baby Tiragon from Yugioh Zexal and even though the con is about a month away, I'mma go all out. Gonna try the "follow-me" eyes and full body padding with a dropped crotch. I still doubt I'd win anything in it. I'm cosplaying a character that's not well known plus it's gonna be my first time in a craftsmanship competition. D: But still, I think it'll be a good experience.
Plus I just paid for my artist alley table at Bronycon! So I'mma be there for sure. And I just found out a friend of mine got invited to go as a panelist so now I won't have to share a room with my parents like I did for Fur Squared. XD (They really don't like me traveling alone...) So maybe once it hits June or something I'll do some badge pre-orders for it.
Oh yeah, and I started my new job this week. XD I didn't mention that before. ^^;

Thinking of entering a cosplay contest...
Posted 11 years agoI wasn't going to but my dad got me thinking about it. Honestly, I think he believes I can succeed at this art thing way more than I do and knowing that conventions have cosplay contests, he keeps thinking that I should enter them if I like making costumes.
A part of me wants to start off small, but another part is like..."well if I work really hard on something I could completely make something structurally sound and gorgeous for a large scale contest". C2E2's having this massive cosplay contest complete with cash prizes, and while that deters a lot of the "cosplay should be for fun!" crowd, that totally peaks my interest. While I don't think I could win anything big, I think that if I put my mind to it and picked a great character and made something insanely sound, that I could place in whatever category I enter in...
Problem is I'd have to register by tomorrow and would have to come up with a character to make like...today. XD It wouldn't be the first time I randomly decided to make a costume on a whim, but it would be pretty short notice. D:
I dunno...on one hand, it's another piece to add to the portfolio, it's good practice, it would be a good experience...on the other, I'm just really unsure about it. But then again, I'm unsure about a lot of things that would technically be good for me and end up missing out on experiences and regretting it so...^^;

What are your honest opinions about my art?
Posted 11 years agoAnd subsequently my ability to be a freelance artist?
For anyone who knows me ore just reads any of my journals in passing, it's really no surprise that I'm the absolute worst judge of my own abilities. I generally think I'm god awful at art as I use the views, comments, and favorites (or reblogs, likes, etc.) as a general gauge of how "good" I am. Now I'm highly aware that this isn't a good "judge" of skill, but I still do think that in an online arena, they do help and it'd be hard for someone to convince me otherwise that they don't given the strong correlation between successful online artists and the amount of views they get. Basically I'm content with most of my art up until the moment I post it. Lately less and less people have been commenting and what not. Is it because I'm not uploading as frequently? Or is it because the art really isn't as good as I think it is? Or are people not seeing it...what?
Like...why did you watch me in the first place? What is it about my art that's appealing or not? What could make it better...? Stuff like that...
I dunno...it could be 'cause I've been up since 4:30 in the morning, but regardless I think about this stuff a lot anyways. I do consider freelance art my "real job" and whatever seasonal or part-time work I get to be temporary and completely disposable because I do really want the freelance work to be my job and I put a lot of effort into what I do. I wonder though should it be the other way around...like nothing's working so far and I can't earn much off of art unless I severely undercharge myself...is it even worth it to keep going...?

Was at Fur Squared this weekend
Posted 11 years agoFor a first year con and a small con gotta say, not bad...
I did dealer's den there so if you went and saw me, most likely you saw me there. Didn't do to shabby on sales and picked up one take home commission which I'll be working on along with the rest of this work once I get home (which'll be tomorrow afternoon).
This con made me feel better about my prospects of working more cons and doing art for a living. It's the first time I've even come close to breaking even at least...though now I'm thinking about it...I might have broken even...I mean...it's a little sad that that's been my goal, but still...like...I have yet been able to do that (not counting UchiCon as that was a free con).
But yeah...not selling at any cons until maybe Bronycon but I've yet to hear back from 'em about AA space.
And for new watchers I got from Fur Squared, hi and thank you!

Thinking about an adult art auction...
Posted 11 years agoI've been running the idea through my head for a while because I'm well aware of how much adult art is loved in this fandom plus...extra money. I don't want to continue underselling myself on these artistic liberty slots. It's nice for minor cash I guess.
I don't want to do adult stuff as regular commission slots because I don't want to make a habit of it. I don't want it to be a normal thing anymore to draw. Because once you do that's all people want to buy from you and while I don't mind it, I don't particularly enjoy doing it all the time.
If I did do an auction I would have some rules for it...
1) It would be a digital painting and as such the starting bit for it would be $90 with the lowest increment for each bid being $10.
2) I do not want to make heavily fetish driven piece. I would prefer to do something with a little bit more of an emotional connection. This isn't to say I won't draw fat character, pregnant characters or anything like that, but I don't want the feel of the piece to be a very fetish driven one. I don't know if that makes sense. There's a bit of a difference in feel between pictures that are clearly a fat fetish picture and one between fat characters that genuinely have a connection. Something like that. So if you did bid hoping to get some crazy hyper whatever piece this probably won't be the auction for you 'cause I'll most likely turn it down.
3) I don't wanna draw female character looking like they walked right of the set of a porno. Too often female character don't look like they're enjoying sex. They just look like they're doing it to please an audience. So if you wanted some picture of a female character pleasing like 10 guys or surrounded by disembodied dicks...also a no. This isn't to say I have problems with threesomes or anything like that, but usually the emotional content gets lost.
4) When I say "emotional content" I don't specifically mean romance. I also mean fun, excitement, enjoyment, beauty, sensual...stuff like that.
So even with those sort of rules (specifically the rules on the sort of work I'd like to do) would anyone be interested? I'm not doing it right now obviously. Once I work through my current commission list if I have enough interest I might start it up...

Should I jump on this sharing sites bandwagon...?
Posted 12 years agoSure why the heck not. XD
If everyone else gets to share the sites that they're on/use, I should be able to too. Why not jump on this bandwagon of sharing sites I'm on (though I totally get why it's going on and I don't think it's dumb). I suppose my wording makes it seem like I'm trivializing the reason why people are leaving and I don't particularly mean to. I don't think it's a silly or dumb reason at all. Nor do I think that the "drama" itself is "dumb drama". Feel free to disagree if you know what's going on (I'm not gonna mention any details here...there's plenty of people who have paraphrased the whole deal already). But I don't think it's silly or dumb in the least bit. It's quite understandable.
