my new acc is basically set up i just need to like...make an announcement post really, and i've given myself the arbitrary task of designing a new sona to go with it which is Very Smart as someone who is finding it very hard to do art lately!
but anyways ofc i get like. horrifically sick when im just about to start putting the raffle together. spent the whole week mostly in bed feeling miserable and surviving on toast w/ margarine & popsicles. avoided the hospital this time at least B)
i'm mostly out of it now, just trying to get rid of the brain fog that's come with it and get back into my usual flow which is proving Difficult. plus a lot of irl things Keep Happening so i can't just be a hermit on the internet and get everything i want done!!!
anyways! if this is unnecessarily rambly or doesn't make sense sorry it's the brain fog lol. i really am hoping to get my raffle up and do my move soon, like within the next week! watch this space or whatever the cool kids say these days
& if you haven't seen already, here's my new account! which will definitely be active i promise so so hard i just have to lock in a bit more and stop getting irl debuffs like "currently being kinda immunocompromised mainly due to having such a bad infection last year i nearly got sepsis, and also the nearly dying thing"

anyways. happy new year - or as my parents have been saying for us, happier new year! fk knows i need it to be lol
i've spent the latter half of december back in the hospital, having another surgery, spent christmas there, legit got out yesterday (31st) but have 2 medical devices still attached to me :') HOPEFULLY i won't have to have another surgery, but it kind of depends on whether my mrsa fully clears up or not. my infectious team wants the metalware to be removed once my femur has healed to be absolutely certain of no more infection, but my surgeon would really rather not put me under the knife a FIFTH time in 12 months if he really doesn't have to. so we're kinda playing by ear and i will probably find out what the verdict is in about 7 weeks
this surgery came with absolutely horrendous pain management both before and after it, it's only really gotten under control the past couple days, and my veins r like Begging to stop being poked and having ivs put in them so like...if you do any sort of hoping or sending vibes or whatever i would appreciate a bit of it
anyways! i am home now and reunited with my baby kitties and that's what matters most. i've been doing a LOT less art than i've been wanting to with all this pain and unwellness going on, and i'd really like to change that
So ! in order to try make things 'fresh' for myself, i plan on changing my username. this is easy on like. literally every single site but furaffinity of course. today i'll be changing my username to 'mungoberrie' on art sites that allow username changes, but over the course of this week i'll be making a new account & doing some uploads there to fill out the profile a bit. once i've set things up, i'll be hosting a raffle to hopefully restart my following, since this is where i've got the biggest audience (although how much of it is active i'm not very sure nowadays lol)
so keep an eye out for that! this acc will be kept up as an archive - i have had it for 7 and a half years. i hope yall will follow me over!

since my accident, my health has been naturally a bit all over the place. i got mrsa (don't get that, i almost got sepsis) and the complications from that mean i require at least 2 more surgeries. i get part of my femur cut out of me yahoo! (<- scared)
the (actually) fun part before this is, from the 30th november - 4th december, i will have friends up so we can go to a concert (my first ever!) & do some other fun stuff around the city. i have a couple days off after that, and then on the 9th of december i'm admitted to the hospital for my surgery, assuming there's no postponements etc etc
not sure how long i'll be in hospital or recovering for ! my surgeon thinks i'll only be in the hospital for a few days and recovery will be 2-3 weeks but . we'll see
i also have my birthday on the 15th of december and ofc christmas so...december is just really busy for me . crying. but when i'm home i'll be doing my best to stay on top of checking stuff and replying to things!
ik i've not exactly got a lot of commissions or anything but, i still like to be available. i'm hoping i can really try make a return to art in 2024. i might try rebrand myself? i've been sonderrr for so long it feels weird to say that esp cuz i hate creating inconsistencies in my work (and changing my signature sure would be a big one lol) but...i also would like to try a new username lol. idk ill think on it more and decide before i try opening commissions again, which i do plan to do in the new year!!

16/12 update - my surgery has been delayed TWICE and i still haven't gone in the hospital yet. actual hell. it's now scheduled for the 23rd but i have a suspicion i will be going to the hospital before then :/

r buddy strapped together. but NOT my index and thumb so i CAN still draw its just slow!!

to make a long story as short as possible, on mothers day (may 12th here) i was involved in a serious accident on my moped coming home from work. like i could have died serious
my left leg has been amputated a couple inches below the knee, i broke my left femur and i broke some parts of my left hand. plus some soft tissue damage also mainly on my left side
i still have my index and thumb out of a cast but it is a bit difficult to do a lot with them and i can't weight bear so i need to take it easy. which unfortunately means closing my commissions for the first time ever lol
i want to try doing artfight hopefully but we'll see what this damn hand lets me do. why couldn't it have been my right side
once my hand is more healed u bet i will be drawing more because by god do i miss it!
but overall 0/10 experience don't get hit by a campervan doing like 80kms

Posted 2 years agoit's that time of year where i am nearly another Standard Year Unit older, yippee! that means i am going to make my usual birthday/christmas trip to my family and, as usual, be more inactive during this period. i will still have my laptop + tablet with me (and hopefully will be getting a new tablet cuz my one is capital d Dying lol) but will be much more focused on irl during this period!
once i am home i hope to get my commission stuff updated + ready for the new year. i have some new styles + plans in store that i hope you all will be excited to see! i am as always endlessly grateful to those who stick around through all my updates, whether you have been here for a few months or the whole six(!) years (is there even anyone whos been watching me that long lol?), whether you commission or just favourite, all the support helps

Posted 2 years agohowdy friends! just wanted to check in since i have been quite dead online with all the business moving and starting a new job. things have been going quite smoothly - but a few days ago on the way home from work i lost control going around a corner and came off my moped x_x
i am okay though!! my worst injury is a sprained ankle, besides that i just have a bit of general soreness and stiffness, and a single scrape on one of my knees lol. big shoutout to my riding gear because it was a pretty rough stop and i'm fairly sure my bike hit me on the way down before i came off it so it could have been a LOT worse
i'm officially on no-working rest for a week, which my new job has thankfully been very understanding about, and i'm going to do my best to use the time to my advantage to finish setting up what i need to get back into art again. since i need to be resting & do not want to make my ankle worse though, i can't move around a bunch to do this. my friend who i've moved in with has been nothing but helpful & sweet to me, (and is even helping me in getting my bike fixed at a good rate) so most likely i can get some help from her in doing some bigger things, but she has plenty to do herself (and i'm not going to force her to just help me lol) so i don't have an exact date when i'll be back into things again. i am still aiming to be into a rhythm by the start of july but we'll see how things go x_x
ty all for being understanding and supportive during my inactivity, or at least just hanging around and waiting until i'm back x3 i hope to get out some pride ychs before the end of june - and using the funds from that to fix my bike & get a big thank you present for my friend - and getting myself ready for artfight next month! ♥

hey fellas! i've been planning to move for a while now, and it is FINALLY HAPPENING! i'm moving in with a good friend of mine to another town in the same region, starting a new job out there, and most importantly, i get to bring my cat with me!! and she gets her own room once we clear it out >:) she is Spoilt
i am going to be VERY BUSY as a result of this - packing, shifting things over, and setting up again. i'll also be taking a bit of time to adjust to a new schedule with my new job. while there'll still be some days i'll be fully available as usual, i'm starting my inactivity notice now so you all know what to expect!
i don't have an official end date, so i'm being generous and estimating that things should settle down roughly by the end of june. this might be subject to change, if so i'll let you all know! i will still endeavor to check here at least once a day, so any questions, comments, etc i hopefully shouldn't take too long to get back to
thank you all so much for understanding and being patient with me while i've been working towards this goal! and of course a special thanks to those who have supported me by commissioning me - those funds have been, or will be, going into moving and setting up myself and my kitty at our new place. once things are a bit more settled and rosie is set up in her new room, i'm going to be building her a catio so she can get outdoor access again while still being safe, and i plan on releasing ychs and having discounts to raise more funds for making the best setup possible for her!!

combining it with a bit of a price check/general questionnaire about my behaviour as an artist. figure it'd be good to hear what yall think about how i do stuff ^_^
RULES:
- you MUST be watching me for any entries to count. please don't immediately unwatch after the raffle!
- please don't just bs the form for an extra entry. there's not really any way i can stop people from acting in bad faith but there are multiple ways to get extra entries so please just go for those if you don't want to fill out the price/behaviour check!

anyways, just a bit of an update journal to let y'all know there may be some delays in my usual commission speed; my poppa has stage 4 cancer and is getting...very poorly. i don't really know what the prognosis is exactly but my mum and i are trying to organise flying over to australia to visit him sooner rather than later
once i know the exact dates for going to australia i'll update to let y'all know when that is happening, commissions will be at the back of my mind during that time, but right now this is definitely already getting to me and affecting me a lot so i wanted to give a heads up that my mind is kind of all over the place already and making it hard to focus on...pretty much anything, honestly. my poppa is a wonderful man and it's been really hard processing that he's going to be gone soon, and now it's very, very real
