I haven’t posted to Xitter in over a year and I just finally deleted my account there, so this is the one and only social media page for me.

If you’re not already on there, you should consider it! Much less of a fucking asylum, and by now they have a lot of the features missing at launch including DMs, pinned posts, and video support. And blocking not only still works properly; it’s stronger than Xitter’s block ever was.

Barring any last minute disruptions I'm gonna be back at ANE this year - which is coming up fast! Just over a week away now. I'll be getting in on the afternoon of Thursday the 19th, leaving on the following Monday, and staying in the main hotel. Hard to believe it's been three years - last time was ANE 2020, juuuuust before the first big COVID lockdown.

I don't look anything like my sona but I'll have a badge to make it obvious who I am. If anyone I know on here is going then maybe we'll get the chance to meet.

So I've made an executive decision some people probably aren't going to be happy with.

I've decided to remove the ability for me - Thorn, that is, my sona - to infect organic beings. No more getting into fleshlings' bodies and minds and corrupting them like computer programs, developing those telepathic-ish links, doing direct mind control and stuff. I know a lot of people enjoyed this aspect of the character, but honestly? It's an interesting idea in theory that hasn't felt right to me for a while. It's also an ability I very rarely actually used for art, stories, RPs and the like because I'm just not that into it. I like being a computer virus for all the cool wacky tech stuff and that's a big part of my kink, so it got pretty boring having a lot of people want me to just... pop out of a screen to fuck and mind control them like some demon or something. What's the point there, really? This change allows me to focus in more on what I really like about my sona to begin with - plus it makes me considerably less overpowered and nonsensical, haha!

That doesn't mean I can't interact with organics, of course. I'm keeping my ability to hop out into the real world with the hard-light body. I can still have sex with fleshies, theoretically, but it won't actually have any lasting effects. Probably feels weird as hell though. And there's no reason I couldn't use tech to hypnotize or brainwash people with screens, visors or headsets, audio, et cetera. Also - hacking cyborg implants/augments/prostheses is still totally on the table.

Sorry to anyone disappointed by this change, but I thank you in advance for your understanding!

Just a quick new journal to note that I've made a few changes to the description on my ref sheet to more accurately represent the way I currently envision myself as Thorn. Last journal was a long time ago too, might as well kick it off the page!

So, after years of not having a fursona, then introducing a little-used raccoon, I've finally decided:

Thorn is my sona now. I am Thorn. Fear me!

So what does this actually mean going forward? Well, the thing that most people will probably be concerned with is that yes, Thorn will be changing a bit. He'll look the same, but his personality, behavior, and speech will be shifting somewhat to be a better fit for me. I'm not going to make him an anxiety-riddled always friendly nice guy, but he will be portrayed as a bit softer and gentler. Expect him/me to be more open to making friends, hanging out, cracking jokes and the like. Not everything he says or does will be snarky or mean or antagonistic. That's still a big part of it of course. I AM still a virus!

It also means I'm completely open to people referring to me as Thorn, a virus, et cetera, or talking to me on here or chat applications "in-character," since I no longer have the hard line of separation between him and my online self. In fact, it's been pretty fun living my day-to-day internet life as Thorn, so I definitely look forward to interacting with more people this way.

But I WILL be there Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday, so, for the last time I'm checking in - anyone I know on here gonna be there too? It's gonna be my first con so I'd love to meet up and hang out :)

As you've probably noticed, I've more or less made a total shift, regarding pictures I do myself, from 2D to CG renders. But what I post on here isn't the whole kit and kaboodle of what I actually render. Obviously they're downscaled for FA's tiny max resolution, but also often cropped from the original render to a specific aspect ratio.

So the idea I had in mind was this, and I'm looking for feedback:
Either standalone purchasable image packs or a Patreon account for providing hi-rez (1080p and 4K) and alternate versions of renders, including various stereoscopic 3D formats, alternate/expanded aspect ratios (including desktop/monitor sizes), possibly panoramic versions, etc.

If I were to go the Patreon route it'd be a per-upload pledge, not a monthly one, as I doubt I'd be able to schedule things in a regular timely "stream" of content. Image packs would be individually purchasable ZIP files with all the versions of a specific image or sequence. Either way they would be pretty cheap!

To be super clear - the standard, original versions will still always be posted here, and without a delay. These packages would only be for the alternate versions.

Would anyone even be interested/care if I tried this out?

My 81 year old grandmother has been in the early stages of dementia for some time now. About a month ago it got bad enough that we couldn't take her out to eat anymore. Earlier this week she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, which has happened several times before. After a couple of days she was transferred to a nursing home to finish recovery until she could go home. The next day, though, they found that fluid was building up in her lungs and she was sent back to the hospital.

Today we got the call that the lack of oxygen has not improved and her brain and heart are beginning to fail. She could die as early as today, and almost certainly will within the week. I'm leaving in several hours to see her for what will probably be the last time. Immediately afterwards my parents are taking me to be fitted for a suit for her funeral.
