Update
Posted 10 years agoI guess 3 years is long enough to go without posting an update in my journal here, but I'm also sick and tired of logging into my FA page and seeing the same journal post every time I log in.
All's I've got to say is that Oh! Pawpets! has been keeping me quite busy with video projects, I completed my fourth film last year, and I'm still looking to get all my stuff out of the storage unit back home in Columbus (it's a very long story why I'm no longer living there, and I may also have to be compelled to recall the abomination of an incident I had to get away from, and I really don't want to get into that.)
Along with my effects that are still over there, so are most of the puppet cast of the show. If anything, I'd like to try to head back there and get all of the puppet cast back here in PA where I'm at now (although I can't begin to imagine the mass of insanity that will erupt when the old cast of puppets meets the new cast of puppets and having nearly 70 characters to voice and use for the show.)
At any rate, it would still be interesting to get them back before the end of Winter when I have to start working on the new intro sequence for Season 8 of the show. I'm not sure whether the current backing track of the theme song will be used again in the 8th season intro, or if I'm going to look into a whole new song altogether.
Just a quickie this time, but I'm sure I'll be back with more before too long.

What a race against time!
Posted 13 years agoOk, I don't have much time for much of anything else other than concentrating on wrapping up the following things:
1. Maintain flow of pre-productions for Oh! Pawpets! with filming and editing of some of the videos we feature on the live show - COMPLETED
2. Finalize, edit, score, and construct for DVD the latest Paw film before leaving for Wild Nights before the April 25th deadline - IN PROGRESS (but I will have to speed edit a lot of the stuff to get the DVD ready in time, which I really don't want to do, but in times like this, I need to have it done ASAP.)
3. Prepare for my Guest of Honor appearance at Wild Nights 2012 - COMPLETED (all I have to do is pack and I'm there.)
4. Work on updating the Oh! Pawpets! web site with new sections (Filmography and Discography for ordering.) - NEXT ON PRIORITY LIST
5. Relax for a while without having to look at a computer monitor - IN YOUR DREAMS, PAL. LOL (well, at least I could try to get a little rest after all this. Proceeding on with my list)
6. Prepare for Morphicon 2012 and all staffing responsibilities as performance track head - WILL DO WHAT I CAN
7. Prepare ideas for our Oh! Papwets! Live show for Anthrocon 2012 - WILL GET TO IT WHENEVER POSSIBLE, (otherwise we'll just run a regular impromptu show this year, since the show's director, editor, and everything else is being pulled into a million different directions, and each one of them leading to a time bomb if things don't get done on time.)
My God! I'm not even scratching the surface. There's also Season 4 updates to make with Oh! Pawpets, new theme song to record, new song to add to my SonicBlu Darkfold NOW album, including the new song I plan on performing to at Anthrocon this year during the Masquerade, and after all that, still manage to find time to relax and ugghhhh.....
.....can I scream "Calgon, take me away" yet?
That having been said, I need to make a few quick announcements before I dive back into my film edits.
1. The Paw I film is finally in the home stretch of being completed! Stay tuned to the Oh! Pawpets! Show for further details on that.
2. Oh! Pawpets! Show now has a facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/OhPawpets. Please like us to stay up to date with all the things happening with the show.
3. I will be heading to Wild Nights on April 25th, arriving there on the 26th, which will be Thursday. If you are able to make it out to Wild Nights this year, I'd love to see you there. I will be bringing copies of Paw and Paw II on DVD, plus a few of our Oh! Pawpets! Show presentation DVDs, all 8 of my parody albums will be in stock and ready for CD signings, and the new single off the forthcoming ninth album SonicBlu Darkfold NOW will also be performed there during the variety show, which should be all the more reason to attend Wild Nights...if you have the means that is.
So far, that's all I can think of. I keep mentioning to people that I try to keep people posted on things that are going on, but let's just say for sake of argument that a person with multiple roles in a puppet show and production crew, a singer/songwriter/performer, a staff member at Morphicon, and attendee at my first guest of honor appearance at Wild Nights, will tend to find difficulty in making time for other things....but I also enjoy the work, I love being productive, coming up with new ideas for productions with the Oh! Pawpets! Show, making new musical material that everyone gets a kick out of, and I must say how excited I am that after my hard work and efforts into the fandom as an actor/songwriter/performer/everything else under the sun, my time for recognition is continuing to grow into my first guest of honor appearance. :D
So, flying fingers of typing, don't fail me now! Mighty mouse-moving powers...activate! Brain waves set at eleven...now let's get this movie done once and for all! Paw on DVD will be released before we know it!

Paw II is now complete
Posted 14 years agoI'm pleased to announce that the final edit of our film has been processed, and the full movie will be screening on Oh! Pawpets! this Saturday at 6 PM Eastern, which will be viewed from our web site: http://www.ohiopawpets.org
I feel sooooooo relieved. Two months ago, we started on a project that, every single day, would drain me of my mind work, voice acting work, puppetry, and video-editing patience and energy. The result is this year's Halloween (well...belated Halloween) project to continue our Paw series into the sequel...Paw II, which marks a red-letter day in Oh! Pawpets! history. We have just completed our very first full-length motion picture!
Initially, I hoped for a film that would exceed a running time of 90 minutes. As we filmed more of the movie, more ideas to enhance the storyline kept streaming in, and we ended up with a movie with a running time of 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 6 seconds! For all you trivia buffs out there, the entire film was shot without a script, and the only thing we went by was a scene outline to put this film together. All dialogues were done directly on-the-fly.
As most of you know, the Paw films will all be completely re-written versions of the Saw series and done to puppets....and just as bloody and gory as the original series, so when you see them, try to keep the original series out of your mind when you watch these. Otherwise, in some cases where you think will match up with the original corresponding movie ends up not corresponding, you may feel disappointed. If you see it as a completely new series of film altogether, then I'm pretty confident in believing you may be pleased with the results of what one small puppet production cast can do.
We at Oh! Pawpets! Pwoductions worked super super extra uber hard on putting this film together. The more viewers for our finished result, the better. :D
Paw II will be made available on DVD before the beginning of December, so if you have a furry in mind that is also a horror fanatic, Christmas won't be a problem in coming up with a gift idea for them.
Paw I, however, will not be available by the time Paw II makes it to DVD. We still need to re-film it to follow along with the continuing storyline to Paw II. When we filmed Paw I, we wanted to take the Saw series to a more "comedic" level, rather than a puppet version of the first film. As such, we will re-shoot Paw 1, using the same characters and putting them in identical traps, but the humor won't be there.
When we do release Paw I to DVD, I'll also include the original humorous shorts we filmed for our Halloween 2010 episode of Oh! Pawpets!
That's about all I have to report for now. Keep on watching, and hope to see a lot of you tune in on Saturday for Paw II! I'm very eager to see what everyone will think of it.

Holy crap...he LIVES???
Posted 14 years agoYeah 2 years between journal posts seems quite a long time for an update, and with everything else going on, I'll have to keep this brief from all the projects I have going on.
First of all, many of the fans of Oh! Pawpets! are wondering when is Paw 2 going to be finished? We're almost done with all the scenes now. We're at the point where we will be requiring some extra help with the more complex scenes, and it's only a matter of scheduling whenever I can get that help. (It's not easy putting an entire puppet film together with just two people at a time.)
What is Paw 2 you may ask?...
Last year for Halloween, we decided to spoof on the Saw movie series on Oh! Pawpets! by filming a few video shorts and mixing it with the live show we aired that day. The fans enjoyed the spoof so much that they wanted a sequel. Well, we already intended for there to be a sequel when we finished filming the first installment. Needless to say, we were unable to present Paw 2 in time for Halloween, so it'll be a little late with its release...but it's coming! Hold your horses! We came this far, we don't intend on putting this project on a shelf just yet.
Though Paw 1 was our first movie spoof, Paw 2 will be our first full length motion picture. Once we show a screening of the film live on Oh! Pawpets! upon completion, the film will be ready for sale on DVD.
Speaking of things that are going on sale...now that I have been putting a lot of work into my productions, I'm pleased to announce that we will soon have a list of Oh! Pawpets! DVD titles for sale, just as soon as I can get a replacement color laserjet printer to print the cases. I'm also sold out completely of all my albums, with the exception of a couple extra copies of my fourth album. I will need to restock soon because...
I have been selected to appear at Wild Nights as the forthcoming year's Guest of Honor. I'm very excited about it. This will be my first GoH appearance, though not the first time I've been nominated for a GoH appearance. I'm hoping to be able to have all copies of my albums, the Oh! Pawpets! soundtrack albums, the Bwing's Twansfowmation DVD, Oh! TV! (Oh! Pawpets! Tribute to the 30th anniversary to MTV), and of course Paw 1 and Paw 2. Our Christmas special from 2010 may also be available on DVD as well.
Damn, speaking of which, Christmas is just around the corner and we can't start on our special Christmas episode until we completely wrap up Paw 2 first. Then immediately after the Christmas special, it's on to re-shoot Paw 1 and make what we filmed last year into a full length motion picture as well.
So those of you that are wondering, "What happened to that dino? He hasn't updated his FA in 2 years!" (and as Paul Harvey once said:) "Now you know....the rest of the story..........Good day."
Oh yes, those of you that are interested in getting a small taste of what we have to offer for Paw 2 can watch the teaser trailer at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&a.....;v=dQKpopOlu7A
Well, back to work. See you all on the flip side!

Down, but hopefully not out for the count.
Posted 16 years agoI'm getting a little worried about my back injury. Last week, I was loading dishes into the dishwasher, when I suddenly received a tremendous pain shoot through my entire spinal cord. Those of you that know me well enough also know that I've been suffering lumbar strain in my spine since 2000, and as long as I took things easy, I would be able to slowly become more physically active without overexerting my body beyond my own realm of pain.
Last week, I was really surprised that it happened, and it sort of feels like bone-against-bone in the affected area. I hope that my suspicions aren't correct, but I am a little frightened about the possibility. Since then, I've been unable to really leave the house since I live up on the third floor of my apartment complex. I was able to make it to the Morphicon staff meeting with no problem. Still had great difficulty getting in and out of the car, plus I couldn't sit for very long without lumbar support, but I did manage to make it through. That night, LolindirFox came by as per our plan to head out to Karaoke, and before the night was over, even while taking drinks of alcohol to help kill the pain in my back, I was in a far worse condition from sitting at the bar stool, constantly moving up and down for a cigarette break or to sing a song. I made the most of my songs, since a performer's motto is to never let them see you sweat. Well, I wasn't sweating a bit, but the pain grew very excruciating before the night was over. We left a little early that night, and getting into the car was a bit of a challenge. Getting out of the car at the apartment complex was an even greater task, for the pains in my back grew way too unbearable. I had LatexFox run upstairs to get my walking stick so I can make the stairs, and I couldn't even see from the tears in my eyes from the pain. Fortunately, I lightly tapped a parked truck in the parking lot being unable to see where to go. LolindirFox came along the other side of me and supported me all the way to my door. It was a slow process to get me there, but I eventually made it by forcing myself to be strong enough to walk up the stairs, and channeling the pain I felt in my back into energy for my legs to keep moving. Lolindir even tried to rub my back in an effort to alleviate any pain I was feeling. (Thank you muchly for the help, Loli. *hugs*)
I sat in my chair for a bit to let the lumbar support ease my back pain before getting up again, and fortunately I can get up and move around again without assistance. The bad thing is that it's starting to feel like I have a new realm of pain to consider "average", and it's a lot greater than what I had to deal with before. I'm really hoping that my suspicions about the spinal cord is incorrect, and that it's just one of those things I'll be spending in recovery for a few months until I get better. I'm really really hoping that it does get better and I can go back to being more physical around the house.
I admit that I don't hardly show depression at all, and I try to shake any of it away by being outgoing with an energetic personality, while holding onto a brighter tomorrow, but ever since my accident, I'm finding myself in a greater league of depression than I've ever felt in my life. I just so much as think of the pain, the injury, and what my predicament has turned me into and the tears always seem to immediately follow. After all, what does one do when he was once very physically fit and active, now almost completely curtailed to just sitting in a chair most of the day. I can't even sit on the couch long enough to enjoy my roommates' company before I have to get back on my chair to recuperate, and I also feel really bad about not being strong enough to spend any time with them. The couch isn't in the greatest of shape, and definitely not meant for someone with a lumbar injury to sit upon for too long. I even had to rely on Halfshell to help me up out of the couch after I've settled down.
And what do I go and do as a result of it? I go and download something I swore up and down I would never even touch, just to get over the boredom of having to sit here all the time. I will definitely remember not to go Karaoke singing until my back pains subside, assuming they will after up to five months in recovery, and I will certainly not be able to do any housework until then, so I have a lot of time on my dino claws. I figured, "Why not? Enough people tried to get me to join the SL craze, and I couldn't do it because I had little to no time to spare." Well, that's not the case anymore, at least until I can recover.
So if you see a stray dinosaur looking much like what you see in my latest gallery post wandering aimlessly around SL looking for something to preoccupy his time (or any of the number of avatars I may be sporting at the time), don't be afraid to stop and chat a while. I won't bark, and I won't bite, unless you want me to, and then I'll do it nice and gentle. Us Dilophosauri weren't known for having strong jaws anyway, so it would probably be a little "love nip". *nip nip*
I'll be there as SonicBlu Darkfold, if anyone wishes to add me and maybe show me around some of the clubbing scenes when I'm not camping for lindens.

Farewell to a friend
Posted 16 years agoI awoke this morning to check my FA messages, and received some very disturbing news about a good friend of mine and many others. His name was Furp. He was 29. Furp was more than a great friend, he was a godsend. At conventions, he was part of first aid staff, and really did his job greatly. Just recently, Furp was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident, perpetrated by a drunk driver in California. He died at the scene of the accident. As hard as it is to take what happened to him, I still have to question, "why did it have to be Furp?" He didn't do anything to deserve such an abrupt end. Because of some drunk driver's negligence, it ended up taking the life of someone that did not deserve to go.
Seeing how great of a friend he was to many, Furp will be greatly missed. I know I'll never forget about him and all the help he offered in helping make everybody's fur con experience a safe and happy one. Rest in peace, my friend. May you always find what you are looking for beyond Heaven's gate.

Saw V on DVD...Had to get it
Posted 16 years agoBeing a fan of the Saw series (and a lot of my friends know it), I had to get Saw V on DVD. Saw it in the theater in October, and traditionally had to get the DVD when it was released. It didn't do very well among critics and horror fans, but the die-hard Saw fans still appreciated the fifth installment into the series. I know I did. :D I know a lot of people will say that the movie didn't really offer anything new, just tried to uncover more ground that didn't even need to be uncovered, but what more can you feature after Jigsaw's death occurred? I see it as an attempt to wrap up any and all loose ends before officially ending the series. Rumor has it that Saw VII will be the final Saw movie. Saw V may have turned away some fans, but I hope that the series doesn't end on a sour note because of the decline in interest.
I'm still not thrilled over Universal's decision to cease and nullify any filming and production on Jurassic Park IV. I was really looking forward to seeing that film. According to media, the movie project is scrapped because of Crichton's death and Spielberg doesn't want to embark on the project when its own creator is no longer with us. Having read about this, and then seeing the page removed from the IMDB, you know they're being serious about it.
As I slowly get over this nasty congestion, I should be ready to return the Time Machine Show back on the airwaves soon. I will post in advance on its return.

Damn cold, get out of my life!
Posted 17 years agoBeen really sick over the last few days. When the cold hit me, it hit me good this time. Felt like I had the flu and the cold at the same time. Although I'm feeling better now, all that lingers now is the congestion. Won't be long before I get my singing voice back, and in due time, I'll be able to start recording again.
Speaking of recording, I recently sent over the hard copy files for my greatest hits compilations volumes 1 & 2. I separated the more appreciated songs into two categories: furry and non-furry, hence the two volumes of hits. Once these two compilations are in full swing, I'll be able to start working on my next full-length album, "Incoming!", featuring a musical homage to the classic battle between an army of squirrels and one pissed-off human.
In other news, my next horror novel, "Brandish Mountain" will be released in April. All that's left is to collaborate with my publisher on the front cover illustration, to make sure I have all the dimensions right. Was quite a productive end-of-year indeed.
Although I don't have any audio samples to download from the new album just yet, I do have some recent live tracks I uploaded a couple days ago. Perhaps after I've released a couple more full-length studio albums, I'll start to work on a live album for my parody works. Already got Welcome to McDOnalds recorded, since that's the main song everyone in Columbus wants me to perform. Meanwhile I'm standing there thinking, "Well, I do sing other parody songs too," but there's something about McDonalds that people want to hear over and over again. We'll see how people fare with songs like "Whore in my Lap" or "Ice Within Your Veins" heh heh
Nothing much else to report as of now, other than the fact that I downloaded the new Windows 7 Beta. It's strongly based on Vista technology, with a few extra bells and whistles that were lacking. It's not bad so far, and it seemed to help fix the problems I've had with Vista. Can Microsoft be ready for a full time release next year when 7 is fully ready? Will it be the next XP? We have but to wait and wonder. I'll definitely be interested in upgrading when the new version is released.
I will repost again when I get over this congestion and get ready to start the Time Machine Show back up again. I've been asked by various people about the status of the show, but there's no way I can fully broadcast until my voice comes back.
Stay tuned, and I'll see you on the flip side!

Ravens suffer more than a chance at Super Bowl
Posted 17 years agoWell, the AFC Championship game came and went. The Baltimore Ravens faced off against the Pittsburgh Steelers one final time to determine who makes it to the Super Bowl to play against the Arizona Cardinals. As expected, the Ravens held their own against the Steelers' line of defense during the first half of the game. Upon the second half, McGahee scored a 1-yard TD bringing their score up to 14, which would have given them a chance to score ahead of Pittsburgh during the remaining fourth quarter, had they been able to keep the momentum going. At 3:29 remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter, Willis McGahee suffered a bad neck injury as a result of a helmet-to-helmet collision with Steelers' safety Ryan Clark. McGahee was taken off the field strapped to a stretcher and carted into the locker room, leaving the Ravens to finish out a game that presumably belonged to the Steelers from that point on, thanks to another 40-yard touchdown from an intercepted Flacco pass into the waiting hands of Troy Polamalu. The Steelers finished out the game 23-14, leaving the Ravens no chance to keep up.
Reports are unsure as of yet how bad the neck injury is, but so far McGahee is able to talk coherently and move his arms and legs, so that's a sure sign that he will be alright.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be going on to face the Arizona Cardinals at the Super Bowl, while the Ravens will return from Heinz Field broken, defeated, and determined for next year's games. As for Willis McGahee, my thoughts and prayers are with him for a steady and safe recovery. You gave it your best shot out there, and now you can use your down time to recover comfortably.
Good job, Ravens. Although you guys won't be making the Super Bowl, you still gave it your best, and I was indeed impressed with your performance this year.

Ravens kicked ass tonight!
Posted 17 years agoOh yes! Ravens are in the playoffs, after their astonishing defeat over the Jacksonville Jaguars today, 27-7, thus clinching a wild card playoff! GO RAVENS!
(No disrespect for Bradhound and his feelings over the Dolphins and Ravens knocking the Patriots from making the playoffs this season. Still love ya, BH *hugs* Besides, they did cream Buffalo 13-0, didn't they?)
...but I also love those Ravens! :D As a devoted Ravens fan, I must continue to root for the old home team of mine. Purple reign has only just begun!

Does this sound like you on Christmas morning?
Posted 17 years agoO' holy shit! It's Christmas once again!
It is the day of going into debt.
Let's pay the world in gifts and old fruitcake.
Man with a beard had come to your house today.
No time to rest, the children open presents,
And mother cooks a fresh and scrumptious meal.
Got on my knees! I begged them keep it down!
O hangover, last night when booze was drank;
O no, O holy shit , O not again!
O no, O holy shit , O not again!
Led by the smell of fresh apple pie baking,
With hungriness I will follow it down.
Into the den, where I will feel to perish,
In comes the family from far away o'er the land.
The toys of kids lay in piles and pieces;
And all that noise comes through my den door.
They know my need, for sleeping is no option,
Arise, thee Dad! Arise now, sleepyhead!
Arise, thee Dad! Arise now, sleepyhead!
Truly there's got to be some other way,
My head it aches, and rips me piece by piece.
Pills I will take, for the pain is getting worse.
And in my den, all my family shall come.
Loud sounds of toys with children playing finds me,
With no respect, they play their loudest ones.
Cripes! Let me sleep! The light, it really blinds me,
Hangover and headache, I will complain!
Hangover and headache, I will complain!
We all know that Christmas waits for no man with a hangover. As such, we must be at our best to help ring in the Christmas spirit in our households, even if there is but a tiniest spark thereof to set the yuletide aglow. Christmas isn't always toys or games or apple pie, a mountain of food, a letter of apology to your diet, or a stockpile of gifts and offerings. Christmas is the love, the thanks, the giving and receiving, and the togetherness. It is the day of our Lord in Jesus's name. It's a time for thought and to be thought of. It is the time for forgiveness--a time for many a rejoycing. And so, in high hopes for the future, and for you and yours, here's hoping everyone out there has a very merry Christmas this year. It may be nice to get lots of goodies and eat plenty this year. For those that go without the above will need some Christmas cheer, too. Share this holiday with everyone you know by wishing them a very special and happy Christmas--every one and all. After all, it's that one spark of thoughtfulness from others that sets off fireworks in the eyes of friends, family, loved ones, and even people you may not really know that well. So, make this a Christmas worth all its weight in the many years' worth of fruitcake you've ever seen in your life...make that call to someone you know, write that email to someone so very far away, or drop in on that visit to local friends and family today. Your gift of concerin, good will, good company, and acknowledgement onto others is a great gift in and of itself. May every single one out there have a Christmas to be proud of this year, and know that I am thinking about each and every one of you out there, and wishing you and yours the very best.

Is it okay if I gloat here for a little bit?
Posted 17 years agoOkay, usually I use this journal as a means to update everyone on what's been going on from time to time, but I feel the burning desire to gloat over tonight's game against Dallas. I so wish I could have been there to see this amazing victory, scoring 33-24 for the win, and putting the Ravens up at 10-5 this season. GO RAVENS!
Sorry. Can't help myself. When I saw the scoreboard for tonight's game, I had to gloat about it! I was wearing my huge "happy helmet" tonight! Willis McGahee was on fire tonight, running the ball for 77 yards in for a touchdown! That's quite impressive! Joe Flacco threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Derrick Mason with 2 minutes 58 seconds left in the third quarter, increasing the Ravens’ advantage to 16-7. Another astounding feat was when Romo overthrew wide receiver Roy Williams and was intercepted by Baltimore safety Ed Reed at the Ravens’ 8-yard line, which drew a smattering of boos from Cowboys fans. Man, I had to chuckle for a bit about that. No disrespect to Dallas fans or their team, for I do feel Dallas has some great traits and tactics. They gave it their best shot. I won't hate to admit that--the Cowboys are a great team; I just don't like them very much. All in all, both teams played their best tonight, and I was happier than a clam when I found out that the Ravens won it. Unfortunately I was at the bar during the whole game, and I was sweating bullets to find out what the final score was. Sadly, they didn't receive the channel to which the game would have been broadcast, so I wasn't able to see it for myself, but I was able to see the highlights later on. I hope I didn't rub it in too many people's faces tonight at Dino's, but I did meet quite a few people that were cheering for the Ravens tonight, and let's just say that I felt more at home tonight than I would have if I were still back in Baltimore--I miss ya, Big B! If I had the money, I would have bought everybody in that bar drinks! ...Sadly, that was out of my price range, but I did share my happiness with the other patrons there.
Might say I was a bit nervous about them playing against Dallas before the game tonight, but looking at the Cowboys' statistics, I had no doubt in my mind that the Ravens would be victorious. I just know my team will get to the playoffs this year. Keep on rockin', Baltimore! I love you all! :D GO RAVENS!!!

Two year hiatus coming to a close
Posted 17 years agoIt's been two years since my last submission to FA. Really, has it been that long? Well I guess enough time has indeed gone by, and I'm sure fans and friends alike are all wondering, "What in the blue hell is up with that green dino?" "How come I haven't heard anything new from him?" "When is the next album due out?" "Who ate the last Toaster Strudel? I was saving that!" "Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Stress-a-me Street?" Boy, what a lot of questions to answer, but I think I can shed a little more life on the subject.
First of all, with the recent loss of both my parents, I had to take a little time to settle back into a "creative mind" once again. Unfortunately, constant trips out to California to see them before they died, then returning for their services, while trying to maintain housing situations here at the homestead with needing to find roommates to fill the empty spaces within the apartment here has been a madhouse as of late. Plus having many computer malfunctions does not a productive line make. Ergo, I have been busy trying to get my life back on solid ground once again, and finding a very difficult time to do so has pushed my projects further and further out of my reaches...until finally, I have decided that honesty is the best policy, and that in order to bounce back and excel to get caught up again, I had to just say to the world, "Enough with the malfunctions and the constant traveling of hauling my prehistoric rump all over the country and back again...I need to get back to work!"
So, here I am, two years later and wondering which project to tackle first. I have already fixed up a cover illustration for my second horror novel, "Brandish Mountain" this week (about damn time, too. Fans have been waiting for this book's release since 2005!) and I have a few chapters of the book to revise before I send it in for publishing. I have not one, but TWO greatest hits compilations on the way as well, so be on the lookout for them soon. Those of you that want all the hits, but don't want to pay out the wazoo to get the whole collection will get your just desserts in time for the holidays. Makes a great Christmas gift for the furry filking fan in your life. The greatest hits CDs will be retailing for $10.00 a copy for volume one or two, and both CDs will contain bonus material that has never been released before! (Sorry, downloaders, but once the CDs are in Raccoon's Bookshelf's pretty paws, I won't be able to upload the songs here in my FA account.)
In other news, I recently took a chance and went into the local John Casablancas agency for actors and models, and I got a call back from the receptionist, asking me to come in for a group rehearsal. Got a chance to rehearse before one of the actor/model recruiters, as well as a movie producer from Texas. The producer, whose name eludes me at the moment, was impressed with my voice and acting talents, and a second interview was called in. Upon my second interview, I was able to elaborate more about my experiences in acting and voice talent work, and the talent agent was pretty impressed at my credibilities. He began to hit me with the bad news that I may be overwhelmed with experience for John Casablancas, and that he was mainly looking for those he could send through their college for coaching and getting the proper training to become better actors. Stating that the college course may bore me by teaching me things I already knew, he left the room to converse with another talent agent, and he came back in a completely changed person--very outgoing and supportive. He then told me that I may have a place in John Casablancas's agency after all, despite a need for training and coaching, and that they get inquiries from producers and directors all the time. When future inquiries are made through their agency, I will be getting called back for some acting work. I think I can safely say that I now have an agent, and that I should start to receive some acting gigs soon.
Oh, I'm still doing the Time Machine Show, Monday - Friday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM eastern time, but unfortunately, my computer's CD ROM drive went out yet again. This will be the third time so far that the same malfunction occurred, and I will need to send this machine into the shop for repairs. Hence, the show will be on a brief hiatus until I get the computer back in working condition once again.
A lot of you are asking me, "Where's your web site? It's not sonicblu.net anymore?" The answer is unfortunately no. The registration of my domain name expired, and another corporation took over the rights to the name sonicblu.net, so in order for me to get it back, I may have to go through them. Rather than do all that fancy footwork, I went and uploaded my web site to a temporary location until I can get my domain back online. Not sure if it will return to sonicblu.net in the future, but I have thought of changing it to sonicblusrealm.com, to reflect on the name of the web site. For now, you may follow the links on my user description in FA and my Wikifur page has also been updated with the new links.
That's all I have to report for now. Enjoy the new songs I uploaded, and keep your eyes peeled here for further info on the releases of my greatest hits CDs and the new horror novel "Brandish Mountain", and I'll see you on the flip side!

What I've been up to as of late
Posted 17 years agoI know it's been quite some time since I was able to post in any of my online journals that did not regard my radio show scheduling, but I definitely wanted to post what I've been up to as of late. Bear with me if this gets too long.
About 3 years ago, I met Halfshell online through my parody songs. We started chatting and getting to know one another, and it wasn't long thereafter when we developed a sense of closeness between one another. We decided to give a relationship a try. Albeit, our closeness was there, the love and affection was strong, but our living situations were putting us both under tremendous stress. After deciding perhaps we should distance ourselves until we're ready to progress further in our relationship, we had about a year's worth of down-time to sort out our feelings and situations. As it turned out, Halfshell was between living arrangements and was unable to show up online to keep in touch. I thought I had lost him, and he thought he had scared me off. As he re-established himself in a different living environment, he also underwent an incredible change for the better. I've noticed that he was now more open to affections and he seemed a lot more responsible and a lot less stressed. We got to talking about what we've both been up to during our hiatus and decided that we still felt strongly for one another. I reassured him that I have not stopped thinking about him or stopped loving him, even during our down-time. We confirmed that we are still in fact in a relationship and our love for each other has been a lot stronger than it ever was.
Recently, I made a trip to Kansas City where he lives. We both agreed that once a year of seeing one another was definitely not enough, so I took a month stay down there to spend some quality time with him. The moment I got with him, I knew in my heart that we were going to click very well together, and there was no doubt in my mind that we would be very happy together when we move in to be with each other.
While I was there, we talked of our future, saw the sights together, I got to meet his roommates and family, and we went out to a local bar for Karaoke. Albeit, I was the only one in the group that got up on stage to sing, but that didn't matter to me. As long as I had Halfshell with me, I was happy. One of the places I really enjoyed going to was the T-Rex Cafe. If anyone is a fan of dinosaurs and animatronics, this is the ideal spot to see. The first time I went there, it was to celebrate my belated birthday. It was a small gathering, as only Vicki (AKA Loafer) and Halfshell were along during this dinner, but I still had a great time. I took video footage of the T-Rex Cafe, some of which I intend on arranging together to be put up online, although Halfshell and Loafer both requested that nothing be put up online that depicts them in the shot, so out of respect for their privacy, I will only be posting scenery shots and videos.
During this month, me and Halfshell really spent a great deal of time developing our love for each other and making future plans together. I gave him every bit of reassurance that he will never be lonely in this world again, so long as I have a heart that beats within my chest. To prove our hearts and intentions true and trustworthy, we went to the Great Plains Mall to pick up a matching pair of promise rings, which we intended on exchanging at another T-Rex Cafe gathering, only this time, we were planning on a bigger crowd to attend. We also planned on having matching dog tags either for our collars or to be worn around our necks as charms on a necklace to show that we are both devoted to one another and that we are definitely not open to outside love interests or sexual encounters. (Sorry, folks. I'm taken and devoted. Cuddling with others is fine, however, but mine and Halfshell's lips, our bodies, and our hearts and souls are the sole property of each other.)
Before I left Kansas City, I knew I had to leave behind my absolute promise to him in a symbol that will constantly remind us and show the world that we are devoted and happy together. We had a nice ring-exchanging ceremony at the T-Rex Cafe. Loafer showed up along with Northpaw, Ratty, Ruke Firestorm, and his friend (Brian, I think his name was.) After the dinner was done, I removed the ring I wore on my finger since we got them, and he removed his. I stated that with this ring, I give him my word and promise to always love and cherish him, remain devoted and true to him, and never let him out of my heart. In his response, he agreed that three years was indeed a long time for any long distance relationship to go through, and that we make this promise together to ensure it won't be another 3 years before we live together, then asked me to be his. I of course accepted. With the ceremony complete, and wearing each other's rings on our fingers, we have now reached the first step in the devoted relationship. With the promise in place, I will stand by my word to love him and only him in a way that only true lovers can express. I promise to remain devoted and true to him, and to always be honest and upfront with him.
The last day of my stay, we went back to the Great Pines Mall to have our dog tags etched with a picture of our costumed characters together. We went to Wal-Mart on one of the prior days to get the dog tags engraved, simply stating that he and I are mates forever. Our next set of dog tags will depict our promise and vows to each other with a commissioned picture etched onto the reverse side of the tags. We would have had that done at the same time, but the picture is not yet finished. Once it's done, we'll be able to engrave the tags and then take them right out to be etched with the commissioned picture. I'm not sure what it's going to look like, but it's going to be a picture of our characters together in a loving setting. Can't wait to see it. I plan on having these dog tags read "I, (insert name), give all of my heart, soul, and devotion to (insert name)."
I know that a lot of this sounds sappy, maybe even a bit cheesy to some that are reading this, and others may think that I may be going a bit overboard, but after looking for love in all the wrong places, then finally finding someone out there that reached a place in me that has never been reached before, one tends to make sure that the relationship will last a very long time, and will go to great lengths to show the world just what that one person really means to me. The promises have been made to one another, and I feel that everyone has a right to know just how much we mean to each other, and that we are happily devoted.
Halfshell, if you're reading this, and I'm pretty sure you are...three years is indeed quite a long time to be in love with someone, and for that love to continuously grow stronger every day just makes me realize how lucky I am to have you in my heart, as lucky as you feel having me in yours. You are my life, my love, and my soul. I am very happy and proud to share every moment with you as your loving companion in life. My promise to you still stands, that I will always love and cherish you, and that I will not let anyone step between us to take any of that away from you. You once said that I could be open with anyone, but I turned that freedom down. I don't want it, for it would make you feel less of a companion that way. As long as I am with you, I will not take on any outside love interests, I will not share any intimacy with anyone else, no lovemaking, no yiffing, no licking/kissing. That's something for only you and I to share, and you have already expressed your true loving devotion to me this way as well. I wish to share that devotion with only you, and I am more than happy to give up that type of freedom to be with you. As you know in past relationsihps, mostly everyone I've ever been mated to wanted to be that open, but I still have to question that if the relationship was that open, then what's the need for a life companion when the same types of things are shared onto others? What good is love when the same type of love is shared with other people? Why go out and look for more love interests when the one you're with is already doing that? These things never made sense to me. With you, I wish to be free of that type of freedom, and to only share my love and affection with you and only you. As I stated before, cuddling with others is fine, but I don't want anything to go beyond that, for it would not only hold our love for each other back, but it would also make our love for each other seem worthless. Not only that, but it would also hold other people back from finding that one special person that they can share their love with, rather than sharing it with someone who is already taken, and that is why I turned down the freedom. You are all I need as my companion in life, someone you can have in your life in ways that nobody else can have me. I really long for the next time we are together, for it will be the start of our indefinite relationship and companionship. You are my one and only love, my soulmate, my life, and my devotion, and I wish nothing more than for you to become a part of my life forever. Nothing will ever change that, no matter how long it takes for us to live together. My love for you will remain as promised, and you wear my ring on your finger to give that reminder and reassurance. I miss you so much and really can't wait until we are together, for when that happens, it will be for a lifetime. We need but to remain strong in heart and body until then. I love you with all my heart, my one and only love, my Halfshell.
