Update ( Personal, commissions, & Future Commissions)

Personal update:
Thank you ever so much for uplifting my days. Ever comment, every fav, and every new watcher encourages me to push my limits while also respecting them. I still have my chronic hand pains and while I would love to charge through my art at full steam I am getting better and giving myself breaks.
The last couple of months have been hectic. I had family visiting from overseas. Lots of drama simmering under smiling faces, there was a boat tour with aggressive regurgitation, someone lost their false teeth thanks to said regurgitation, and on top of that my mum's long term tenants decided to move out (two of them in the same week) which meant scrambling to find new tenants fast to be able to cover the mortgage WHILE also doing any needed repairs and painting.
The fun never ends but being able to settle down at my desk or on the table to do art has been an immeasurable solace to me in all the chaos. I took on a new part time job in the office recently and to my dismay found that the demands of the job for 3 days has left my hand in throbbing pain for over a week. I've had had to resort to my "5 minute art bursts" again in order to make progress. My husband took pity and cut out my water color badges for me despite his full plate. I owe so much to him <3
I have had a few hiccups in the emotional department that I have actively worked on. Thankfully art keeps me grounded. I have invested in more dohickeys to try and alleviate the pain my hand is in.
Commissions Update:
My very NSFW YCH auction was a blazing success! I am very awed by the experience and learned a lot from it. I have completed the base colors and shading. All that is left is the arduous journey of rendering it in my painterly style.
Now that the auction has been settled I am free to go back to working on my mass effect admiral portrait piece. The next part to it is to finish inking and set down the base shadows.
The 2 YCH water color badges took a single sitting to paint but 2 weeks to slowly get cut, scanned, photoshoped, and re-cut. My old printer ran out of ink which caused another delay and a huge expense. I do believe that printer ink is more expensive than blood! The entire process has been an educational one. I have learned what to do when painting, cutting, and processing for mailing. I have learned too that I simply cannot hold scissors to cut thanks to my traitrous hands. It shakes too much for the exacto knife which has lead to my husband shouldering the cutting duties. Hurray for Mr. Sorabito! I will be able to mail them out tomorrow!
Once I have finished one of my painterly pieces I will be working with a new client,
blightseed who has been a joy to work with in ironing out details. They joined FA recently after finding me on /r/furry and we're both excited to work on a Japanese Tori scenery for his semi-bulky feline character :D I really look forward to working on another painterly piece.
Future Commissions:
I am 90% sure I want to have my prince Sidon YCH in a painterly style. I'm having trouble deciding on making it a flat rate ($90) or an auction (SB $50 AB $100) so if anyone would care to give input I would greatly appreciate it.
My next plan is to open 4~8 watercolor badge slots featuring elemental borders. Will be going with the elemental wheel from FFXI for the borders :D ( Fire > Ice > Wind > Earth > Thunder > Water Light <> Dark ) I am excited to work with traditional mediums. My first test batch of 2 really stoked the fires of desire to paint again. The base price will be $40 (SH included for US). I will mail the original + a laminated print out w/ clip. I'm debating on getting matte boards to frame the original but that would up the price and shipping. If anyone could give me their thoughts on that I would greatly appreciate it :)
If there are still interest in ref sheets I plan to in the future open up 3 slots for the lined version. I would like to change it up by having the pose/skeleton pre-made but the body type & sex would change. I'm just finding it hard to come up with unique poses for ref sheets. Please let me know if you are interested :)
Do you have anything you would like to see from me? Personal art? An actual official Commissions Open! announcement with a pretty price sheet? SFW YCHs, art trades, more NSFW things, please do let me know. Comment or note :D I am always open. If you want/plan to print out my commission, I would be thrilled to help out! If I'm made aware ahead of time then I will send you a print-ready (sharpened a bit) .tiff format image. That way you can get the best printing results.

The art style will be a cross between my painterly piece and my wingit sketches.
This piece will be my "in between" piece for commissions. Something I work on when I need a breather and detox.
It's going to be a wingit so as to give myself artistic freedom and time leeway.
Price will be $20 down and then final payment required when I'm close to finishing.
This is something that could be done in a couple or days or up to a month - depends on my hand's stamina (injury) and how deeply engrossed I am with my ongoing commission.
I plan for this to be a CLOTHED piece where I can design something. Depending on the sona it might be fantasy RPG like or fashionable street clothes.
Wings will be additional $10

I had family visit from abroad which was very exciting. It was a crazy busy last week that was a pretty much "roll out of bed and into car" scenario. I wouldn't every get home until late at night - just enough time and energy to shower. I had fallen asleep in the shower once though as I was just too fatigued. They have left my home island and so I have a moment of reprieve. I'll still be busy looking up activities and sights for them to see as they are on a different island but for now, no more crazy adventures. I hope to post more scenic views of Hawaii on my twitter, for those who are curious :3
Sadly, after they left I got super sick - deliriously so. I lost a day again so it's been very disorienting trying to play catchup.
My mother has informed me of a situation that will be putting her under incredible financial strain. I am now incredibly worried and stressed as to how to remedy the situation - a solution wouldn't be found for another month at least. I have anxiety issues and am getting increasingly agitated and stressed. If I open a note and don't immediately reply within a week, please feel free to send me another. I tend to walk around in circles and idily clicking the same 3 sites on my phone - which means I'll open a note, read, and not truely comprehend words due to the stress.
For now, I have greatly enjoyed and found solace in looking at the view counts, favs, comments, and bids on my kitsune adopt. It's a very liberating and encouraging feeling when a design you made specifically to appeal to personal taste. Please, if you guys have any adopt ideas you like to see, tell me :3 Otherwise, I plan on a bakeneko / two tailed cat in a chinese outfit next.

The view-counts are what makes me smile, the favs are what pushes me to keep trying event though my hand suffers, and your comments make me not give up on art. It is thanks to all of you that my first year here in the furry fandom, mass effect fandom, and this site of furaffinity has been a joyful one.

Personal Update:
My hand just never heals. I have bought some therapy putty, thanks to the advice of my friend
hungryforthewolf and it has helped. The low stamina I have for art, typing, and holding most utensils and stylus is a source of great and deep sadness for me but, being able to cook and draw are what I derive happiness from. That said, I work slowly. Some days I can work a solid 1.5-2 hours. Other days I get small bursts of 5-10 minutes done here and there throughout the day.
In light of my hand, I apologize for slowness and will only take on commissions with those who are willing to wait. I will adjust my approximate time mentioned in the T.o.S but please be assured, I do give out wips frequently. My twitter is often littered with more micro updates than my FA account. I've also started to get back into tumblr with a furry account but, I'll also dust off my old humanoid account as well. The um... nsfw account is also neglected....
I still haven't given up on making badges though! It's hard to get started since watercolors requires a steady hand but I haven't given up :D
Upcoming Commission Slots:
I'm almost done with my YCH piece and have a small reprieve from my large project. I just have an art trade to do. Right now I'll take on ONE to TWO commissions. First dibs will be reserved for people on my waiting list/have talked to me already about a commission*. A small update from me.
T-T No, my hands haven't healed. I've come to accept that my hands will just be in pain for a long while. For now I work when I can and have occasionally worked through the pain. Not the best idea but I still need to finish art.
I've slowly munched through some commissions. I haven't forgotten anyone on my work Queue, Waitinglist OR the freebie raffles. Please do not fret. I am always reachable via Notes should you have a question.
Yes I had a YCH even though I have outstanding works in progress. I needed a little personal piece as a downtime - something composed towards my vision and wants. I am very pleased with how Winter Plum came out and was thrilled I was given the opportunity to do it in full painterly style, thanks to silverwolf1122 ! I hope that I get more chances to work in a painterly style in the future, especially in scenic illustration based on what I have in mind. I'll still have YCHs start low where the winning bid will be a lined piece but painterly will be locked behind ABs.

Personal Update & Questions

Thank you for checking in with me. I have been very slow in art for some time down. For those who don't have me on twitter - I badly hurt my wrist and can't hold my stylus for long periods of time. I had to fight my way by only drawing a minute here and there, then 5 minutes, 10, 15, and now I can just about push 30 minutes before JUST discomfort sets in. I'm hoping this mean my fingers, palm, and wrist are on the mend.
I'm working on the current ongoing commissions when my hand can allow it. I've had a few wonderful people be willing to be placed on a waiting list and I hope to get to that soon. I also have almost finished setting up the tripod and camera to livestream me working on that raffle badge winner. I also will be working on my other raffle winner after that. I have a few other arts to finish up that aren't FA related and I'm also working on that slowly. Recently I've been working on Inktober on my twitter. It has been a blast and a learning experience. I challenged myself to not using any pencil sketch for the first week. Wow is my anatomy extra wonky if I just put straight ink to paper. I've started to pencil sketch first then ink and am greatly enjoying that a lot more. It's been so long since I've done traditional media so I hope to one day make more polished pieces for people to buy and commissions (the originals could be shipped too :D ).
My question for watchers because I would like to plan out the future:
Are there people wanting and or waiting for something special for commissioned art in the future?
Things such as regular commission slots where people apply for it?
Anymore YCHs (if so, what sort of YCH do -you- want?).
Are there any interests in adopts (I still have the sketches from my first batch I be happy to ink up and sell them if there was interest) ?
Any fanart of something? (Pokemon, Digimon, MLP)
Do people want more mass effect related art and if so what type? Just straight fanart, commission slots, or ych of ME related things?
Is there any interest in personal art (of Sora sona) ?
Anyone want more NSFW pieces? If so, what sort of theme and how? ( like what form of fetish and custom commissions or ych )
I essentially would like to know what sort of content people hope to see out of me. If it's within my power I will work towards meeting the hopes and expectations of people.
A small personal update was that last month was my birthday. The best gift I could ever get was the kindness and patience my commissioners have given me. Thanks to the no pressure, the encouragement, and concern for my personal health I was able to enjoy my transition to age 28 stress-free. Thank you guys so much. It's folks like you that motivate me to keep trying and to not give up on commissions and art.

Thank you for checking in with me. I have been very slow in art for some time down. For those who don't have me on twitter - I badly hurt my wrist and can't hold my stylus for long periods of time. I had to fight my way by only drawing a minute here and there, then 5 minutes, 10, 15, and now I can just about push 30 minutes before JUST discomfort sets in. I'm hoping this mean my fingers, palm, and wrist are on the mend.
I'm working on the current ongoing commissions when my hand can allow it. I've had a few wonderful people be willing to be placed on a waiting list and I hope to get to that soon. I also have almost finished setting up the tripod and camera to livestream me working on that raffle badge winner. I also will be working on my other raffle winner after that. I have a few other arts to finish up that aren't FA related and I'm also working on that slowly. Recently I've been working on Inktober on my twitter. It has been a blast and a learning experience. I challenged myself to not using any pencil sketch for the first week. Wow is my anatomy extra wonky if I just put straight ink to paper. I've started to pencil sketch first then ink and am greatly enjoying that a lot more. It's been so long since I've done traditional media so I hope to one day make more polished pieces for people to buy and commissions (the originals could be shipped too :D ).
My question for watchers because I would like to plan out the future:
Are there people wanting and or waiting for something special for commissioned art in the future?
Things such as regular commission slots where people apply for it?
Anymore YCHs (if so, what sort of YCH do -you- want?).
Are there any interests in adopts (I still have the sketches from my first batch I be happy to ink up and sell them if there was interest) ?
Any fanart of something? (Pokemon, Digimon, MLP)
Do people want more mass effect related art and if so what type? Just straight fanart, commission slots, or ych of ME related things?
Is there any interest in personal art (of Sora sona) ?
Anyone want more NSFW pieces? If so, what sort of theme and how? ( like what form of fetish and custom commissions or ych )
I essentially would like to know what sort of content people hope to see out of me. If it's within my power I will work towards meeting the hopes and expectations of people.
A small personal update was that last month was my birthday. The best gift I could ever get was the kindness and patience my commissioners have given me. Thanks to the no pressure, the encouragement, and concern for my personal health I was able to enjoy my transition to age 28 stress-free. Thank you guys so much. It's folks like you that motivate me to keep trying and to not give up on commissions and art.

I didn't seem to get much interest for the stream of the winner selection so I went with it. Took a looooooooonnnngg time using the number randomizer to get it to hit a number that someone selected. I gave up trying to screenshot each one. A long long time. For some dumb reason 151 came up three times. Gen 1 Pokemanz~ <3 That was a lost opportunity there XD

How do Badge commissions work?
General | Posted 9 years agoSince I was finally able to pay off my husband's cellphone, I can now save my art commissions to put back into art! :D
I was hoping to sell watercolor badges and so will save up to get a laminator and badge clips. Right now I only have student grade watercolors with generic watercolor paper so I don't expect to price high.
If you are familiar with them, could you tell me what are the price ranges for what sizes? Is there anything else do it? I have some leftover cardstock and scrap booking paper from my old job I plan on using but, is there anything else about badges that I should do ?
OR do people prefer digital badges?

I've completed all the promo refs, started to tackle down a few lighter work from my waiting list.
Didn't hear back from 1 person so took up a different ref sheet commission.
Working on my first FERAL REF SHEET! :D Very exciting and a huge learning process.
I've taken on a few headshot commissions and have 2 left - I will be working on them in the next few days.
Due to pushing myself I've hurt my hand again but, it's not as bad as before so a day or two's rest and I should be able to art again.
A client asked me to put on hold one of their comms so I'll be looking at my waiting list again to tackle down a larger project soon :3

The biggest thing I want to say thank you for though are for all the commissions I've had for the last 4~5 months. Thanks to my commissioners I was able to pay for my husband's new $600 cell phone. My own phone was dying and didn't want to get charged so, I took his old phone and took advantage of a coupon to get him a new one. It wasn't a dire situation so I didn't want to splash around the "Emergency Comms!" label but, I was a bit frazzled as I only had 1 more month before I would need to start paying interest. I am really thrilled that with my art I was able to accomplish something and it would not be possible without you guys. Thank you. Thank you so very much. Words cannot describe the elation I felt when I made the final payment. I've long felt inferior, needless, and a failure but just being able to pay off the phone was able to make me feel even slightly better about myself.

Thank you everyone for helping me get back into art. Thanks to the fandom, especially the Mass Effect niche, I broke out of a 3 year art hiatus. My mental health has improved quite a bit as art has given me purpose.

I've been approached for a feral ref sheet and am not sure how I should go about pricing it as well as add ons. General | Posted 9 years agoAs I try to keep organized, I had found myself slowly promising slots to friends or patient and polite people who inquired after a slot. Here is who I have.
* The waiting list means that the individuals here have indicated they want a guaranteed slot.
* This means that when I open a slot the wait-list will be sent a message to inform them. If they back out then that slot is freed up.
* I will try to keep a smaller wait-list so that there will be slots available when they are opened officially.
* If a person backs out of a wait-list twice for any reason, they will no longer be allowed to be placed on a wait-list. They are still allowed to try and snag a slot when I open commissions.
* If I contact a person on my waitlist and I can see the Note was opened but I haven't heard a response back after 2 weeks then I will remove them from the Waiting List. No notification will be sent.

** New decision: I may decide to upload any art completed after May 1st onto print stores like Redbubble, Society 6, and InkedFur. If you as a commissioner do not want your commission up for print, please state so at the beginning. By not explicitly stating "NO" I will take it as permission to upload. Phrasing of this will be adjusted at a later time. **
*** Due to chronic handpains all art may be delayed. I am always available in communication though so please feel free to drop me a line once a week maximum for updates. Otherwise, I try very hard to get art done with my limitations and thank clients for their kind patience <3 ***

4. Please use full sentences and properly capitalized words - no l33t speech or an excessive use of abbreviations.

5. Images are for personal, non-commercial use only - you may not profit from the received artwork.
6. Commissioner may repost the lower resolution of their finished artwork to their own gallery, social media, and or website provided that credit is given back to me, as well as a link to my gallery.
~ a. Commissioner will receive a signed high resolution of their own personal use.
~ b. Unsigned high resolution version of the art may be requested but do not post this version online.
7. I retain the rights to the artwork to enable me to reuse it or parts of it to display in my gallery, portfolios, or other projects aimed at promoting me and my work.
8. At this time, I will not sell prints from commissioned artwork. In the future this option may be explored more.
9. Download the high resolution files of the artwork for your own safekeeping. I may lose or delete finished commissions so retention of the art is your responsibility.
10. If you are under the age of 18 I will not do NSFW art for you. By requesting NSFW art you are thereby stating that you are at least 18 years or older.
Payments & Refunds
1. Payments are to be made via Paypal, Google Wallet, or Amazon Gift Cards, with a preference on Paypal.
2. Price is flexible, and dependent on required details, but needs to be negotiated before the commission is accepted.
3. Work is not started on until half of the payment is sent, unless the artwork is under $25, in which case full payment must be sent for me to start working. Before the coloring and shading starts, full payment must be received. *This may sound confusing to some. If you want clarification please feel free to ask.
4. There can be incremental payment plans if commissioner prefers the work to be done in increments and does not mind further delays.
5. Client gets a full refund if:
~ a. The art was cancelled before any work was started
~ b. If it is just at a rough sketch stage. I will then use the sketch as a YCH (Your Characte, Here).
6. Refund at the lineart stage:
~ a. Refunded amount would be 75% of the total minus the payments already made. *This may sound confusing to some. If you want clarification please feel free to ask.
7. Absolutely no refunds once coloring and/or rendering have started.
Timing & Communication
1. I aim to complete my commission in a two month time span but, I may complete a month sooner, or later.
~ a. In cases where the art is a larger scope, I may take 3+ months but, payment is then broken into smaller increment client has a set-in-stone deadline, there is an additional fee of 15% and must be mentioned in the early stages of communication before the commission is accepted. ** Currently my hand is still injured so art may take a while longer than the norm. I still aim to get more simple commissions done in a month but painterly pieces will take time. Thank you for your understanding.
~ a. I reserve the right to refuse the commission if the deadline is not something I can work with

Updates on Comms, life, & an Art Wishlist

I've completed two of my commissions. Thank you to
meekcon and 
chemwolf34 fior your kind, encouraging, and patient patronage. It was an absolute pleasure to work on a water nymph again, especially with lighting. I had a blast making my first reference sheet as well!
I'm currently working on my secret project. I'm not sure when I'll be able to show anymore sneak peeks on it but I'm very excited with the progress on it.
I'll be making some some free art raffles for watchers soon! I can't believe I breached 200 watchers. I'm so happy~ I'm not sure on what prize or prizes will be. It will be either multiple small sketches or 1 nicer polished piece. If anyone has suggestions on how I engage this Watcher Appreciation please comment below.
I'm also thinking of some slots for experimental sketch lined flat color refs (front and back view) for $30 to help pay some bills that came up. I'll be working on a formal T.o.S in the meantime as well as hashing out some ideas for a price sheet so that when I open formal commission slots, but I'll be taking on certain types of arts to build samples to use for my price sheet. Commissions like bust up, waist up, and 3/4 body. I really do want to do some lined and flat color ref sheets though so if you're interested, please note or comment.
As I've been working on pieces, I realized I should build a check list of types of art I would one day like to do. When I do formally open slots I'll try to have one slot dedicated to something off my list. I'll be updating this list and adding to it as I go along so feel free to check back if you're curious :3

Finished one of the three bodies for Meekon. Working on shading the second body. Third body still needs to be sketched.
I've started to develop more of the body instead of the background for the secret commissioner
Chemwolf I will sketch mock up once I finish one more body for Meekon.

1. I'll be trying to limit myself to streaming bursts at 2 hours each to give my fingers and wrist a break. They are starting to throb in pain at the joints even when I'm resting and not doing anything in them. That's a bad sign...
2. I've updated my profile bio! I know some might see the colors as garish but I really do like it and for now, I'm keeping it.
3. My husband and I have two free days off this week so we're going to -finally- bug bomb the place. No more cockroaches crawling on Sora while she works at the computer or sleep in bed. I'll be glad to not have to wash my toothbrush in scaldingly hot water every time I use it because I know roaches probably crawled on it. Hawaii is lovely looking but the cost of living is high and you are -always- neighbors with cockroaches.
4. Been wanting to do fanart of MLP because every time I turn it on to watch as I fold laundry I just wanna make art of my favorite ponies. How do you pony art?!

I currently have three open commissions that I'm working on. Once I finish with them I am hoping to do YCHs to balance out some creative wants :3

I just wanted to share some YCH and comms that some very talented artists have.
If you have a winged character too, there is a very lovely YCH that comes with a waterfall BG from an amazing painterly artist. The SB is also ridiculously cheap for the quality you get.

For you mass effect and alien fans, Palavenmoons has a very lovely BG and scenic couple YCH that is open. There are tiers that allow you to pick any race and gender!

I finally got a NEW sketchbook! I hope to doodle something when I have downtime and can't do art on a PC. If you want to throw inspiration at me so I can practice drawing from pencil again, please comment your OC here :3
