In the interest of helping and also in pushing more literature here, a friend of mine is starting to offer story commissions! he's a damn good writer, has been published in small-press, and has written a set of three novels that he really needs to get published because they're awesome. He's well known in the gaming community as well. Take a look at this journal and comment, and commission a story from him if you want! Also look at his stuff on his FA site. :)

Okay, we had another weeklong delay, but things are going forward. The house is on the market! It went on this morning, and right now I'm typing from the abode of  sylvan and  wom-bat because there's already a showing of it! Yikes! So I had to powerclean the area me and the roomie are using, and touchup other stuff before hauling our butts out! Here's hoping my daydream of an insanely fast sale comes true. :)

As some know, I've been working on fixing the house up for sale. That continues, but in related news...

WE HAVE AN APARTMENT! It's at Hillside East Apartments, off of Old Highway 8 about 3/4 mile north of County Road D / 37th Avenue. 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, second floor with 900 square feet and a small balcony. Its a REAL nice area, and we (Me and Chris) move in on July 18. Woohoo!

The work on the house approaches the finish line- the carpet will go in next week, probably Wednesday, and mostly what's left is little fiddly things. We'll be on the market the first week of June, I think.

I can't wait til all this is DONE.

Apparently, Paypal is now permanently banning people who perform transactions through them involving FurAffinity. I'm assuming this is due to their psychotic 'anti-porn' stance, but it is going to screw a lot of artists who AREN'T selling porn. Just a heads up for people to maybe look into other pay-sites like google's version and others.

At this point this should be considered rumor, but given PayPal's attitude towards porn of any kind I think it has enough merit to pass it on.

Yep, I'm trying again. This time the story is gonna be a noir-ish tale based around my old pulp detective character Michael Douglas Woodstock. It seems that I have another story idea. This one'll be a short story if it pans out, and it isn't really what I suspect most would see me writing. It involves a redneck and fast cars and... Well, I'll post it here on FA when I get it done, IF I get it done. The idea has a lot of bugs to it, but... It feels like it might be something. :)

I'm also going to print out the NaNoWriMo story for editing, maybe today. I couldn't sleep so I'm up again, so Maybe it'll happen today. I have to fiddle it a little, just to get it so that each chapter starts on a new page. And get a cover sheet.

I DID IT! I finished my NaNoWriMo novel! Its on my LiveJournal, scattered amongst this months posts. Holy crap! Over 67,000 words long, and I'm technically done a little early! Go me! Of course... Now the real fun begins. Going over it all, fixing all the bugs and bad writing, filling in plot-holes and general cleanup. It'll be months before its ready to be seen by a publisher. But... I think It will be!

I'll post a journal that ISN'T about the kiddy-diddling ban! ;)

As I said in my last post, I started NaNoWriMo on the first. At the current time I'm at over 55,000 words, and I've won from a pure wordcount standpoint! Go me! However, the story itself isn't done. I figure I have up to six chapters to go- that's about 18000 words. If I keep writing at the rate I have been the last two days, I may be done by Sunday. Woot! Wish me luck- I really don't wanna be fighting to get the last words done late on the 30th!

I have started NaNoWriMo now, and in my first day I wrote 3,244 words- that's my first chapter done. I'm posting the sections I write on my livejournal if people wanna look- its sorien.livejournal.com Woot!

I'm now officially signed up for NaNoWriMo! I'll be making my attempt at a novel starting on November 1st, and I have a goal of 75,000-90,000 words, which means a daily total of 3000 words written. O.o

I'm biting off too much maybe, but what the hell. :)

I got it done. My first 'true' short story coming in at around 5500 words. Read and enjoy- its the current featured submission. :)

I'm still working on my first actual short story- it should be done tonight with less than 1000-1500 words to go. Its called 'Burning Passions' and is the origin story of one of the characters who'll appear in the upcoming (maybe, I hope) novel I'll be attempting through November. I was hoping to get it done this weekend while I was away from work, but that didn't happen. My fault really- with the novel I'll not be able to screw around like that!

I still have to get the basic outline figured out for the novel- a timeline of sorts, basically. If I don't get that done, it'll be harder but I'll still try to do it. Even if I don't get it done during NaNoWriMo, I'll still finish it.

That's about it. Once again though, if people could read AND comment on my writing I NEED the input, both positive and negative!
