Moving in... 3 days!
General | Posted 11 years agoSo Moving day is Sunday, we're almost ready despite the ton of stress we are under.
Will be losing internet saturday evening and only get it back on monday.
I'll be able to check my emails from my phone and facebook most likely but don't fret if it takes me a while to answer, we'll be extremely busy.

So today is one of those typical autumn day here in Canada… it's cold, it's windy… and it's piss pouring rain out. Well Murphy's law has it that my windshield whippers motor on my car would just say Fuck You and stop working in the middle of the freaking rainstorm while I was driving on the highway!!! YAY!!!!
I couldn't turn back at that point, so I had to make my way to work like this, with wind and rain lashing at my car and seeing barely 2 feet ahead of me with my hazard lights on and cars zooming past me! Thankfully there's a small garage right next to work, so I left my car there, they'll have a look at it as soon as possible and hopefully it won't cost me an arm and a leg.
I'm wet, I'm shaking, I'm infuriated. Seriously Universe… FUCK YOU TOO!

Just got call from garage... gonna cost 170$ to repair... it's not the motor but something else that makes the whipper arms move... fucking great.

so the bolt that holds the thing that is broken in the car is stuck in the whippers motor and they're fighting to get it out… if all fails, he'll install me a used motor and linkage for the same price... FML. So until then I'm stuck at work with no means to get home.

General | Posted 11 years agoSorry I've been quiet... between the packing, the calls, the visits, the government bullshit and now added to the list the CIC incompetence (immigration crap, see o-kemono's journal for more details)... I can barely keep my head straight.
To my commissioners, I haven't forgotten anyone... I just run around from dawn until I just collapse in bed, I'm trying real hard to get stuff done, thank you so much all of you for your patience and for the help in this time of need.

FML... the universe hates my guts - Help needed :/
General | Posted 11 years agoBecause of the move I had to call the government and make my address change an all that stuff... while on the line I had to ask about my fiancé o-kemono address change and other question about our relationship status... turns out we are retroactively common laws since february 2014 despite the fact that he was not a Canadian Permanent Resident before July... They twist the system to whatever favors them if you ask me!!!!
So because of this I had to make several calls to the Canadian and Quebec government to change my marital status to "common laws", thus stopping the money I'm getting from both government for my child until they re-evaluate our common revenue. We have to fill a bunch of paperwork and mail it to them and I'll be cut off until it's being processed.
I'm losing near 550$/month here... no joke... I have no clue what I'm gonna do and with the move around the corner this couldn't have come at a worst time...
I know I still owe a few commission but if you think you don't mind a "longer than usual waiting period" please let me know... I have a huge pile of bills coming up in 2 weeks with no idea how I'll be able to pay it without those checks... we need help.
If you want a commission from me let me know, I'll take anything right now
And if you just want to throw cheap change at us... well we do take tips and will be extremely thankful for any help thrown our way.

Of Arnold and other incapacitating injuries...
General | Posted 11 years agoSo quickly for those who don't know, when I refer to Arnold I refer to the Arnold Nerve Neuralgia that I suffer from and not an actual guy. Basically the nerves that run from the top of the spinal cord at the base of the neck up through the scalp are inflamed or injured, it manifest itself with chronic pain in my upper neck and back of my head. Said condition has been triggered with me straining my left shoulder after breaking my right elbow almost 2 years ago now O_o. That sums it up... one injury caused the other and so on and so on.
Yesterday morning I locked my shoulder again, not sure what I did wrong... it just happened... the nerve got squeezed and I ended up in pain all day, forced to take muscle relaxants, which makes me really drowsy and prevents me from driving, thus preventing me to get to my day job. Joy, right?
Of course it goes without saying that this delayed me into working on commissions as well... I'm doing better today, currently at the day job but not so great... just hoping that I'll be able to art a little tonight, if not please bear with me, I am doing my best I swear :(

WTF?... Work Stuff and Why I'm losing my mind... (rant)
General | Posted 11 years agoNot many people get why I hate my job… and why I struggle to go there everyday… why it's sucking the living hell out of me… well here's a fresh example of why that happened yesterday :
I was drawing a stamp for the new catalog… at my boss requests that got a request from a friend for a specific design. So I sent a quick sketch to them… and waiting for approval so I can clean and refine said design (featuring a couple ice skating)
And then boss and said friend were giggling like freaking children at the man's crotch... saying " ahahahah it looks like he didn't have time to shave"
Let it be said I wanted to rip them a new one, not only it's immature but it's rude as all hell and just ruined my drive to work on said design!
Against all odds... I did finish the design this morning... but to think today would be a normal day at work would be to say the least "having high expectations".
Today on V's workspace adventures :
Boss got a random nose bleed... got blood all over her shirt... had to clean shirt... so is now walking around the office in her bra O_o …
Dunno about you guys… but I'd go home… get a new shirt… SOMETHING!!!!
But NOPE. She was walking around like everything is normal... even stood behind me at my computer for a whole 5 minutes!!!!
I was like... GO AWAY ... I am not comfortable with you next to me in your bra … fuck my life.
So there... welcome to my life to my day job and why I hate it.

Munchkin is back in school, last year of primary school before going to high school (we don't have middle school in Quebec)… I feel old, I feel tired…

There's tons of shirts out there with cool quotes and saying I guess... but what IF I was to do my own?
And what IF... you guys were to decide what I write on it?
I'm thinking about making a Throw your "quotes" at me contest...
The quote I like best will be made in a shirt (limited edition) that I'll bring at conventions next year + some pre-orders and after con left-over online sale I guess...
The person who submitted the winning quote would get a free shirt...

I'm kind of sad and frustrated... I just posted a stupid picture of my marker case/tower
for shits and giggles you know... cause it's cool... and sharing and stuff you know?
It's been online 1h and it has more comments on it right now than most of my art submissions...
it's kind of a downer, I feel like crap right now... not sure if any of you will get why I feel this way but eh.
