This will be my last journal to this gallery.
I'm going to keep this gallery viewable, and I still frequently browse and interact on FA.
But I will no longer be hosting my art here. I just don't draw regularly to post what I have.
I mostly do sketches and rough drawings, and none of it is furry related these days.
But I've met and know a lot of people who are Mass Effect fans, so I wanted to give a heads up.

If you want to keep an eye on what art I do post publicly, it will mostly be done on my tumblr, codafex.
I also am not accepting commissions at this time, either.

hi I'm currently on pain meds.

I've had so many health issues these past few years, gosh I hate being a conscious noodle trapped in a weak feeble vessel.

so, okay, I've not been much of a presence here all that much, and really I should be...but I apologize for that.
I check this place every day I just...don't have any art to show or like.. anything to say, I guess...

I'm active on tumblr, but even there my activity has fallen dramatically.

I'm trying to get back into the swing of art, though. So here comes a few little things I've done the past few months.

...I'm not sure where to go for art-related things in the future.
I may make a return here, but, I'm not sure? As my art lately has not been furry-focused.

I'm also trying hard to just return to art in general, and make a real effort to finish pieces, and create stuff that makes me happy.

It's a journey, it's a process...

I'll be under going a dental operation tomorrow (4/6/17)!

So I'll be recovering for a couple days or so ;0;
Wish me luck!! I am very nervous about dental stuff, so I am glad to be going under for this.

So, Andromeda is coming out soon...

I am a little apprehensive about it, but also somewhat hopeful that it will be decent? I mean, no one wants to see their favorite series go to shit.. So I'm not at all happy with the issues we've seen thus far.

Just wanted to give a heads up that I feel okay enough to work on commissions now :'D
I just needed a few days of fussing with the new tablet and getting the settings right to be sure I wasn't gonna make a right mess of everything.

It's still a bit wonky feeling but I'll get by! I just gotta adjust into it.

So commissions are back to being priority!

It is very very different and I am really struggling with getting it juuuust right.
any artist who's ever had to get a new tablet knows that horrible phase of getting used to it e_e''

My art is likely going to be personal until I feel comfortable enough to work on commissions again.

So my current tablet is starting to fray on the wires and it's really finicky and touchy in places.
It honestly lasted a LOT longer than I expected for what I paid for it--so I'm not all that fussed about it dying out on me.

But I've got a new tablet ordered and it should be here by this friday.

u_u I have been a bit slow with progress on commissions the past few days--I needed a couple of personal days but hopefully when new tablet gets here I will be ready to dive back in to proper work schedule.

:'D Aside from that--I've updated my website a little here and there adjusting how things look. I've also dressed up my picarto channel and my tumblr! New looks all around.

I've got a few ideas for YCHs brewing in my head so I'd like to get one of those out maybe this month uwu

She's a joy to work with on the collabs I've done with her and should you be lucky enough to get a commission it'll definitely be one you'll treasure for a long long time!

Oh man where to start! Their unique style is just so beautiful and soft! There's a really wonderful warmth to their art that makes their characters just pop and stick in your mind! All the details and love they put in to their art is like icing on the cake. I am excitedly awaiting a commission from them. Please check them out if you like dog-focused anthros! They are one of a kind artist with their style!

Ahh yet another amazingly unique artist! Their expressions and dynamic poses are so interesting and adorable! They have SO MANY diverse and special characters in their gallery and I fell in love with so many of them! They recently did a commission for me and they worked so hard to capture my character perfectly! If you're a fan of a more cartoon style with exaggerated poses and expressions, or you have a special specie character you're looking to get art of, you're in for a treat :'D

Hiii I just wanted to give a rundown of how commissioning me works!

I use Trello to manage my queue of commissions, and you can always view it!
Generally once everything is settled and details are given and the commission is paid, I get to work ASAP.

I'll create a card on trello managing your commission, and you can click your card to view details on where i'm at!

In Progress means I've started work and you can view the details on the individual cards. Awaiting Approval means I've reached a stage where I'd like your input regarding details or checking to see if I did something right/wrong :'D I wont begin work again until I've heard back from you and the card is moved back in to In Progress.


Trello is great! I recommend it to all my fellow artists. It's really kept me on track and at a good pace for myself! And it's simple to use once you get the hang of it.

I just wanted to say thank you, genuinely, to everyone who has welcomed me back to FA after my absence.

i know this is like the 3rd or so time it's happened but I am trying to be healthier overall for myself and be around more and draw more.

It's hard--we all deal with our own issues and struggles, and how I usually cope is just curling up into a little ball and hiding from the world :'D It isn't great, and I isolate myself and it causes rifts in relationships and troubles for my business. But I'm trying to conquer those urges to hide.

Sorry for lack of updates or no streams lately.

I've been having to go to the doctor since Friday and getting infusions.
So it's taking a lot out of me each day..
I've just been a blob afterwards :\

I should be back on track after today though--should be my last one...but it is also the roughest.

and I've awakened from a deep sleep.
ready to get back in to this thing.

some of you may or may not know but FA isn't the only place I upload my art.
In fact, it has the fewest of my art pieces!

So, I've been meaning to write this for a while...

I've done a lot of consideration regarding this for quite a few weeks.
I've discussed it with a few close friends and really searched my feelings about this.

Art has become really troublesome for me. It's become a burden, and no longer an enjoyment for me. I struggle to produce anything for myself that lives up to the standards and quality I strive for... and I hate that.

Giving giftart and taking requests from people is the only joy lately I've found in my art. People are always pleased to receive gifts and have requests filled... and it fills me with happiness to see their reactions. I can always do requests and giftart because it's on my own time, my own subject matter usually as I pick and choose, and it's relaxing and ultimately rewarding.

Commissions on the other hand have always been a struggle for me. The deadlines imposed are always a huge center of burning anxiety, and yet I still strive for the impossible with them. A lot of people in the past have been displeased with my work and it always pains me and discourages me when I have to alter things so much and I never feel like I am getting it right or making the person happy... Added on the fact that they've paid for my work, and it leaves me feeling helpless and guilty.



So...I've decided that I am no longer accepting commissions...for basically as long as I feel is necessary. Which, in writing this, feels like a very, very long time....

If you had plans to commission me or were waiting for me to re-open, I apologize, but at this moment it just is not feasible for me to continue this way with my work.

u_u I thank sincerely everyone who has supported me, and continues to do so. I hope I have not disappointed too much... because I want to get back to a place where I can enjoy my art.. and for me to do that, this really is the best option moving forward, I feel.

So I am now officially set and living in Alaska with my girlfriend,  creamsiclesquid.

It's taken a long time to get 'settled' and we're still not quite there..we're still mostly living out of boxes.
But we're getting there.

I had surgery less than a week ago and I am still recovering from it.
It wasn't major, it was an outpatient procedure, but, I did go under.
I'm still in a bit of pain, but I am weaning myself off pain medicine.

Hope everyone is doing okay.

my sweetheart just placed an order tonight for a new laptop. should be here in a weekish? I'm not sure.

but I will hopefully be back in business very shortly I am so relieved uhhhhhg this old dinosaur can finally be put to rest.

so my laptop has been continuously overheating and dying a lot over the past few weeks. I've had to do several system restores and it keeps telling me my harddisk is at risk, so, no good.

but, I should be getting a new laptop some time in the next few weeks.. until then I'm pretty much stalled on work. Trying to draw ends up with corrupt saves or the computer just overheating itself, and I'm scared of it just cooking itself like it did before when this was happening.

e_e'' so a few weeks... then I can hopefully get back on track. It's been a struggle with this thing, it's been on its last legs for a while now. but hey, can't complain for a laptop that is almost 8 years old.

I keep it off most days, because I need to back up more art and important files, and I can only do a little bit a day, so I'm still a bit out of touch in that regard.
