And understandably so, it's an eventuality we'd all expect when drawing for hours on end.
In the recent past I've gained a great deal of experience with building, trouble shooting, repairing, and customizing PC's from both a Hardware and Software standpoint.
So with that said, if you, or know someone who's experiencing problems with their PC.
Feel free to ask away in this journal. (if it's someone you know, then just give them the link to this journal so they can ask directly)

Posted 9 years agoSo here it is, been 3 years to the date since I've last been here. And it's been quite a ride.
So what's been going on?
Well for starters I've been doing Twitch broadcasting. Though right now I'm on hiatus for the time being as I'm moving to a new location, and I'm working hard to get my financial bits in order as I'm hearing to buy a house very soon. Which is great news!
During that time, I'm slowly working towards getting back into the swing of art to see how my skills are holding up, and so on and so forth. Where that'll go I'm not sure at the moment, BUT that's only because it's not my main focus right now, but yeah. Anywho a HUGE thank you to all the new watchers, and favorites that I've missed. You guys kick ass, and also keep a close eye out for updates to my profile sometime tonight.

Posted 12 years agoThis is really not so much an important message, so much as to let everyone know where I've been, what I've been doing, so on and so forth.

Currently I'm living in my own apartment now. Been here for about 5 months now. And for $1,100 a month it's not to bad. I'm enjoying it very much and it gives me loads of privacy.

After I had to get rid of my 95 Chevy Baretta (I miss it so..), I was car-less for a while until I came upon a great deal. $400 for a 91 Honda Civic Hatchback. So far it's awesome, some minor repairs needed, but the compliments on the car have been non-stop.

I have a lady now, whom we made it official on April 12th (yay me for easily remembering the date). She's a high school sweetheart of sorts in that we went to school together from Junior High all through High School. And we love each other dearly. She's not a furry, although she knows I am, and thinks it's pretty cool. She's an avid animal lover in that she loves all animals, and nearly breaks out in tears when she see's one dead on the road. (Which is adorably cute to me)

I'd like to believe a lot of people are anticipating my next piece and such, but I've faced the fact that I'm not a very well known artist, and that my art is (for the lack of a better term) mediocre at best. I don't believe I suck by any means, but I'll never profess to believe I'm the best either.
I gave up on commissions being that the only real commission I ever got and pretty much the ONLY one I got felt to me more like a sympathy commission. (Not to say it wasn't a nice gesture, in fact it was a grand gesture from a good friend)
Anyway I'm working on a couple pieces very slowly for my dear friend
Chyne and one for myself. Just to really try to get my gears out of the rust as it were.

I'm going to be honest I couldn't bring myself to say this too you on the phone in the past let alone in a messenger without choking up emotionally, but this is the best I can do as I still don't fully understand why I get choked up.
Admittedly moving on with my life was no easy task, but luck came my way. It was ruff emotionally dealing with a breakup in the past, but because of the bond my sweet ex Chyne and I developed over those lovely years we had helped me to see what we have now is more than a friendship.
In the past on Second Life we started out as "brother/sister", but thinking back on it even though later on it became even more. During the "brother/sister" time, it seemed as though we were more lovers than anything. (Not that there was anything wrong with it)
But now when I think of you. It's in the truest sense of the word sister. I love you like one because the words we spoke to one another immediately after the breakup rang deep with that feeling inside. And for the most part we've been there for one another off and on when we needed to talk and or vent. (Well you did the venting lol but no worries, I like it). Even as I write this now I kind of feel like I'm chocking up, but in a happy way.
I do hope you feel the same way to me in a brotherly sense. We know each other so very well, and I'm truly happy the way things have gone.

To start off I want to make it clear that This isn't going to be aimed at any one person. This is for everybody.
Whether you like me, love me, tolerate me, or even hate me.
To sum it up in short form. I'm not saying I'm all high and mighty, or a know it all. I'm simply saying that we're all adults. I'm turning 30 this year, and have allot on my plate. It only makes sense to resolve anything that is a problem, issue, or concern between friends right? Less for all of us to deal with and be that much closer to being happy. Who wouldn't want that?
The reality of it is, is that if you take offense to whats said here, then ya need to get off the high horse and accept that your most likely if not actually in the wrong. And it's not a bad thing to accept that. If anything it's a step in the right direction.
Anyway
I don't like having unresolved problems, issues, concerns, or things bothering someone that involves me. Even if you tell me "No it's ok.." or "It's not a big deal.." or anything like that. Because if if it really is ok. Or not a big deal then why is it eating away at you? Don't tell me it isn't because your only lying to yourselves. Problems, issues, and concerns are there or arise because they need to be addressed.
This isn't high school, or kindergarten. (not to say we're acting like that mind you)
I'm simply saying it's eating away at us, because if it really wasn't there wouldn't be silence, or awkward feelings and such. We'd all be chatting to one another on good if not friendly terms. Which would be great right?
Basically if there is anything, ANYTHING like a secret you kept from me, or something I did/said that rubs or rubbed you the wrong way. Or you feel like somethings not right but you can't put it to words. Then please come to me, whether it be public, or private. Using SL/Facebook/Cell Phone (for those who have my number, if anyone wants my number you only need ask) /Fur Affinity/MSN/Skype. There's a ton of ways to contact me and bring this stuff up with me. And please don't use the reasoning that your afraid to hurt my feelings, because this is why I'm posting this. To let you know that I'm prepared for what ever you may have, and we'll deal with it in an adult manner. Ok? So lets do this ^_^

Art Update
Posted 14 years agoDue to time constraints that have come into play (IE me getting a full time job) I am halting all request/contest art until further notice.
What does this mean to you? Well nothing if you were not one of the winners who have been waiting a while for art already. I'm sorry to inform you though that you will not be getting that free art, as I do not have the time to do it anymore.
In the future if I do open up for requests then you can request something then, and or I'll take the time then to finish off what's started
Those who have paid commissions that have already paid (full or partial payments) Your art will be coming as soon as I can get the time to work on it. Though as it stands I will not be opening up for commissions for now, sorry for this as well but it is out of my control.
I understand that this may upset some people and that is beyond my control but you must realize that at the time I took on the requests/contest I had more freetime then I do now, and at this time I am adjusting to my job now...another words Real Life takes priority over your free art.

Posted 14 years agoAfter all this hard work it's finally paying off. I go in to start my new fucking job at 10am tomorrow. I'm dancing all over the place right now I'm so excited. After 9 long months of searching things are finally looking up for me.

As an added bit of help for her, she also has it set up with advertisement links with links to similar info. It's one way she can not only express her knowledge on the matter, but a single click on the links also provides her with a small income for her kids as she currently is unable to work.

Second Life Notice

An Interesting Night
Posted 14 years agoBefore I post this here I want to let you know. I'm not posting this for some show boating or anything. I shared this moment with my friends on Facebook, and I feel I should share it with you guys as well.
Took a break from the movie to go get some Pepsi from the gas station. I came upon a 14 year old facing 5 others whom had to be in their mid twenties. Now I don't like to fight when it's absolutely necessary. But 5 on one just isn't right. I don't know what compelled me to step in. At first I tried to talk them out of it. But they wouldn't have none of it. It's times like these I'm certainly glad I had taken Jujitsu and Muay Thai. I managed to stop them without getting myself injured or hit. And they only sustained minor injuries, as I didn't intend nor want to hurt them badly.
I feel much better about myself as a person. And I've gained a bit of self confidence in my future.

Father Rant

Earlier today a construction crew who is working on an addition to the parking lot my house shares with the Senior Center accidentally pulled on a phone line connected to our house, loosening it from the bracket.
I called and told my dad about the issue, and he said as long as they can get it back to the way it was, it would be fine.
Sometime between the time they fixed it and while I was doing some house chores, they decided to cut the line and remove it. Now keep in mind the line wasn't active, and everyone has a cell phone in the house anyway. But who did my dad decide to get mad at? ME!! I mean seriously WTF!!! All because I told the foreman that Everyone in the house has a cell phone.
My dad should be more angry at the foreman & crew for cutting a line they had no business cutting in the first place!!

It's sad to say that about one's own father, but in his case, it's 100% most definitely worth it in the end. The boy (yes i don't even consider him a man anymore) is the most opinionated, egotistical, useless fat ass piece of shit. That I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. And at this point I really do hope he continues with his eating habits and croaks. or for even better justified justice, I hope his health gets bad enough to need to be in a wheel chair and shit, because the moment he expects to get any help from me I'll tell him straight to his face. "My grandfather did more in his own fucking life to deserve the help I gave him. You put yourself in this mess, and you can deal with it your own damn self."
It's not enough to say I hate this person, and quite frankly for those that know me, what I've just said must be a bit of a shock considering the kind of person I am. But what can be said is this.
These thoughts and feelings have developed over the long years of putting up with him. It's taken years for me to feel this way about anyone let alone my own father. To which I have put much thought into what I'll do after I've moved away from here and to where my heart belongs.
The verdict being I will or plan to disown my father completely. I won't for my mom because I still love my mother and she's an incredible person for putting up with him all these years. But as for myself, I just can't put up with him anymore, and I want nothing to do with him anymore.
As serious as this sounds, I really needed to get it off my chest, and i plan to push the remains of my anger into energy for doing my art work and finding a job. And I want to thank all you guys watching me for being very supportive and enjoying the art i present to you. ^_^

Thoughts and Hopes for Japan
Posted 14 years agoJapan is indeed dealing with a slew of devastating natural turmoil. Several occurrences hitting them hard causing massive amounts of damage.
1: the 8.9 Earthquake
2: the massive Tsunami that flowed 3 miles inland in most places.
3: the giant whirlpool that sucked in vasts amounts of debris, possible bodies and more into it's vortex. link
4: Both main and backup cooling systems in 5 reactors of 2 power plants have failed, causing fear of a nuclear meltdown.
5: A second Earthquake hits the other side of Japan ranging approx. 6.1 or higher on the scale.
The death toll is sadly rising. Officals saying up to 17,000 either missing or feared dead
We all know when devastation strikes a part of us feels sorry for their situation. I personally want to express my thoughts and concerns. Mostly in part of the fear of the nuclear meltdown, because for those who know of the Chernobyl Accident would know why.

My heart goes out to those affected by the devastation currently. And hope for things to improve for them, and the fight to prevent the nuclear meltdown. I can't express my affinity for Japanese culture, both historical and modern. the millions of lives affected by the disaster is heart aching in and of itself. I'm hoping, thinking, and praying things get better for them.

Piling Up
Posted 15 years agoToday I spent a really good amount of time doing some art work, taking breaks here and there watching some funny you tube videos.
But for some reason today I feel like crap. but surprisingly enough none of it was focused on being critical on my work. Allot of it was focused on earlier in the morning when I put in several applications online with hopes of getting a job. Though it felt like it was piling up into one big stress ball that made me feel worthless. (Not to worry folks I'm not going emo lol)
It was a productive day and I was doing the things needed to get done, but it just felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. Ya know..
The kind of feeling you get when your feet are glued to the floor, and there's a tall knife wielding psycho maniac doing a menacingly slow walk of death towards you........ ok maybe not that kind of feeling but it was overwhelming none the less.
I guess it's because I look at my life and who I am and I get disgusted. Because all I am at my core is a 28 year old guy, with no job, no car, never had his license, bad teethed (yes it's true my teeth are in need of a dentists touch), who lives with his parents, his fathers an over weight opinionated prick, with a sympathetic mother who only gets pissed off at the father the more hypocritical he becomes.
The only shining light in my life is my P.I.C. DejaSpyker we play games together, talk on skype and she makes me happy. I cling onto the plans I have for the future and do the best I can to attain those plans, I just wish I could at least begin to see some results of my hard work.
I figured I'd get this out there and off my chest because the knot in my stomach feels a bit less tighter.

Defeating Art Block Meme
Posted 15 years agoI'm not sure if anyone's ever done something like this but I got to thinking about certain questions that have hit me over time, and I'm sure many other artists have experienced a bit of these some directly relating to art blocks and some indirectly related.
Note: I'm not in an art block, this came to mind and simply couldn't resist lol.
1. Whats your tools of the trade?
Dell Inspirion 560 desktop with Windows 7, 20" LCD monitor, Bamboo Fun Tablet 4x6 , iTunes with tones of music played off a 5.1 surround sound system with two 15" subs.
2. how long have you been drawing?
I've technically been drawing all my life, however I stopped when I was 15 and started back up again when I was 20, I found FA when I was 25 and have been here since.
3. What do you feel when your stuck on a piece?
At first I get a little frustrated, but after that I go into a bit of meditation.
4.On a scale of 1 - 10 what is the difficulty of the piece to you got stuck on?
At the time it feels like a 4 but as I get to the point of getting stuck it escalates to a 12 lol
5. How long does it take before your hand starts to hurt while drawing?
It depends on how much detail I put into it, but on a normal piece it takes about 2 - 3 1/2 hours currently.
6. What motivates you to draw for no apparent reason?
Watching my favorite artists livestream
7. Do you listen to music while drawing? If so what?
Disturbed, Creed, Ra, A Perfect Circle, Three Days Grace, Atreyu, Slipknot, CKY, Celldweller, Daft Punk, DJ Granite Tail, Basshunter, DJ Alligator Project. Cascada, Bloodhound Gang, Missy Elliot, Timbaland, Snoop, Akon, Black Eyed Peas, Fabolous, DMX and lots more lol
8. When you feel or have already been hit by an art block what do you do to prevent/stop it?
A: Play some game for an hour or so to clear the mind.
B: View and study artists work that is impressive to start the artistic imagination juices flowing
C: Create a playlist of music that pumps you up or gets you bumpin' or rockin' in your seat.
D: Once your revved up and pumped get started again.
9. When it comes to doing commissions what frustrates you most?
For the most part time limits, because even for a pro the time it takes to finish a piece varies each day let alone the piece itself varies in difficulty.
10. How do you handle an aggressive or agitated person whom you owe art to?
I offer a refund if they paid, and if it was a free one then I apologize and ask for their patients. If they reply back with aggression again then I block and delete the piece.
11. How do you handle a person "calling out", or insulting another one of your watchers in your submission comments?
Personally it's a bit childish to me. I can understand some people have a difficult life, or some people are just plain jealous of another, or they can even be just complete assholes. in either case it's un-warranted, unwanted, not necessary, and will be removed. And if persists they will be blocked.
12.How do you feel when you receive praise or constructive criticism from another member?
It makes me feel accomplished, and happy. in which case I celebrate by blasting some heads in Combat Arms lol
13. What do you do when you finish a piece that made you happy?
Again I celebrate by blasting some heads in Combat Arms
14. What or who inspired you to draw?
Well in the beginning it was because of kid cartoons when i was growing up. But what got me to start drawing again was when I read Jay Naylor's web comic "Better Days"

A Pre-Thank You
Posted 15 years agoFirst off I want to thank all my newest watchers for hoppin' on the "Soupa Bandwagon" lol
I really am amazed how well my first contest is turning out. Though it'd not be as incredible as it is now withought the help of my partner in crime
She came up with a rather unique way of running this contest, which I'm not sure has been done before, but hell when it comes to special events and contests she's the best.
At any rate a certain member of FA who's been a bit depressed got me to thinking about things last night. And I want to bring some minds at ease about artists.
Now myself as some already know. I currently don't have a job as I had to care for my grandfather for the better part of a year and a half. And during that time I couldn't hold a job, and with his passing back at the end of October I've been out each day putting in applications and really trying to get a job. HOWEVER
I do take pride in my art, and lately with how things have been progressing with my abilities I am really excited just to see how much more it'll grow with this contest. And besides unlike some rather shady artists out there who have taken their commission payments and ran with it, I believe you'll find I hate those types and would rather be an artist with principles and a code of ethics. Much like the artists I mention next.
See even though on my profile it says my favorite artists are Fisk, Muzz and Bonk. But I also look up to great artists like Spearfrost, Faint, Tsampikos and Strype (just to name a few). Because their style to me is simply amazing and I've studied all their work in great detail. Even got some excellent advice from Tsampikos on line art.
If there's anything I can honestly say, it's that I attribute my growth to half of what I've learned from them, and the other half from you guys. Because lets be honest. You guys certainly have some challenging fursona's for an artist like me, and I've always enjoyed a good challenge. Especially considering I don't think I've ever done a reptilian type species befor and I noticed some as well as a few dragon fur's hop aboard the contest. And rather than think "Oh crap a reptile.. I've never done those before.. what do I do?". I immediately thought "BRING IT ON!!"
In essence I just want to thank you guys, this contest is going to be AWESOME and a HUGE challenge to me.

I really am amazed how well my first contest is turning out. Though it'd not be as incredible as it is now withought the help of my partner in crime
She came up with a rather unique way of running this contest, which I'm not sure has been done before, but hell when it comes to special events and contests she's the best.
At any rate a certain member of FA who's been a bit depressed got me to thinking about things last night. And I want to bring some minds at ease about artists.
Now myself as some already know. I currently don't have a job as I had to care for my grandfather for the better part of a year and a half. And during that time I couldn't hold a job, and with his passing back at the end of October I've been out each day putting in applications and really trying to get a job. HOWEVER
I do take pride in my art, and lately with how things have been progressing with my abilities I am really excited just to see how much more it'll grow with this contest. And besides unlike some rather shady artists out there who have taken their commission payments and ran with it, I believe you'll find I hate those types and would rather be an artist with principles and a code of ethics. Much like the artists I mention next.
See even though on my profile it says my favorite artists are Fisk, Muzz and Bonk. But I also look up to great artists like Spearfrost, Faint, Tsampikos and Strype (just to name a few). Because their style to me is simply amazing and I've studied all their work in great detail. Even got some excellent advice from Tsampikos on line art.
If there's anything I can honestly say, it's that I attribute my growth to half of what I've learned from them, and the other half from you guys. Because lets be honest. You guys certainly have some challenging fursona's for an artist like me, and I've always enjoyed a good challenge. Especially considering I don't think I've ever done a reptilian type species befor and I noticed some as well as a few dragon fur's hop aboard the contest. And rather than think "Oh crap a reptile.. I've never done those before.. what do I do?". I immediately thought "BRING IT ON!!"
In essence I just want to thank you guys, this contest is going to be AWESOME and a HUGE challenge to me.

My partner in crime is keeping tabs on it so that I can concentrate on the art. but it's fairly simple and easy.
But as an added reminder in case you miss it when reading the contest you must post a journal and link it in your response within the contest ^^ this way everybody who always wanted free arts can get a chance at one too ^^
