It Begins
General | Posted 11 years agoWell, with a bit of luck, I managed to obtain what I was looking to grab for Black Friday!
One of those things was, if recalled, is a console version of Minecraft! True to the later release of the PS3, it has the features up to The End, so I'm glad for that. Small thanks to LeonXIII for the link that gave me the actual info I was looking for.
So far, over the tutorial, I've realized I know quite a lot thanks to watching AH's LPs of Minecraft and am confident in things.
For now, I'm trying survival mode to see how far I can get.
So far, no deaths on my head, and I've been doing quite well in my first seed. I've occupied a house in a village and have plenty of carrots for food and a convenient mine nearby to search through. My goal? Appease the Hunters by creating a TOWER OF (censored)! Tah! But anyway, that's a side goal. So far, just enjoying myself and my creativeness.
============COMMISSION INFO===========
How to Pay: Paypal only, but credit card possible. Will instruct you on what address to send payment to when commission payment is to be sent.
What I Can Do:
-Clean artwork
-Parody pieces
What I Won't Do:
-Red Boarder Pieces (a.k.a "Adult")
-Sexual pieces
-Graphic pieces
-Hateful/Racial pieces
-Explicit Gore
-Nude pieces (a.k.a "private parts")
-Most "Mature" rateable pieces
To Commission Me: PM me first. Typically respond within a day or might be longer. Include details of what you want done in the commission. If there are references on-site, from commissioner or from other artists, provide them if possible. Will work with the commissioner on ideas or changes when able.
If I feel that a commission may become too difficult, that I'm unable to perform it correctly, or that I am uncomfortable with certain circumstances, I have the right to refuse a commission.
As payment is currently accepted after completion/acceptance of the finished work, there are no refunds.
Send Payment: Send payment via Paypal. Do follow directions of this handy guide: http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2.....dc-d26t93b.png
If Paypal fees are included in the transaction, the commissioner, you, pays for them.
WIP: If a WIP is requested, and I am able to provide one, a watermarked image of the current outline will be provided through PM. A journal may be made that tracks the estimate, overall progress of commissions currently in slots.
Finished Work: Finished work will be shown to commissioner in a watermarked image for final approval. When approved, final payment must be made. Once payment has been sent and confirmed by me, the image will be uploaded to my gallery in Scraps. Currently, full payment will be made once the watermarked finished work is shown to the commissioner, before being submitted on-site. If commissioner refuses to pay, the work will not be uploaded and the commissioner will be reported. There are no "payment plans" for any portion of my commissions.
Rights: I retain rights to any commissioned work, including distribution, and am able to display it on another website/gallery/journal. The piece may not be reproduced or sold for profit to others. The piece can be downloaded by the commissioner for their own gallery, but be sure to give me credit for the commission and a link to the original.
If the commissioned work includes me, Azul, it may not be distributed in anyway without my permission as I am copywriteen myself (as is ALMA and the "original" stuff in the gallery if they are included in the commission).
If the commission involves a personal character (such as the commissioner's "fursona"), I will most likely not use the character unless it is commissioned again by the owner (or a friend of the owner, by permission from the actual owner if, say, it were a gift). Exceptions may be made (such as a "splash page" featuring regular commissioners as a "thank you" for the business).
For personal characters, you can resize/crop the commissioned artwork to create icons/wallpapers and such, but not alter the actual piece itself.

Mine that Minecraft
General | Posted 11 years agoOh, tons of stuff to work on and time goes fast or slow....uuugggh.
ANYWAY...It's two weeks to Black Friday. Unfortunately, I doubt I can take advantage of sales given a near-non-existent budget...but through possible coupons and point values, I might be able to get at least one thing of interest that might come to a fair price if I'm lucky.
MINECRAFT!
Yep, those guys at Achievement Hunter with all this great stuff they've achieved have inspired me to try my hand at it. Now, not going for the PC version, I'm going for console versions.
Question is...which one? I don't care about online properties, as I'll be going single-player. I'm also trying to find out what's in the "initial package" as it were, when you first buy a console version. Know there are updates, but want to know what's there at the start (such as if Nether Dragon, Alchemy, and stuff like that are initially there for the port.)
AH uses XBOX...but I'm more partial to the PS3 in terms of consoles. XBOX comes from Microsoft, who makes computer products, so makes sense it was the first stop for a port. BUT, I know Microsoft has a tendency to suck on it's products. So it goes between DID they make a success port initially.
Then there's the PS3 version that came LATER. So does that mean the PS3 version, again, initially, has more to offer than the XBOX version initially did? Is it also a little better refined as far as bugs go?
So yes! I'm going to try to get a Minecraft Console Version if possible...just got to know which one to go for. Which "initial package" has more features/less bugs...what have you.
Any Minecraft player who remembers trying their version out of the first time have opinions on which one I should aim for?

To Commission Me: PM me first. Typically respond within a day or might be longer. Include details of what you want done in the commission. If there are references on-site, from commissioner or from other artists, provide them if possible. Will work with the commissioner on ideas or changes when able.
If I feel that a commission may become too difficult, that I'm unable to perform it correctly, or that I am uncomfortable with certain circumstances, I have the right to refuse a commission.
As payment is currently accepted after completion/acceptance of the finished work, there are no refunds.
Send Payment: Send payment via Paypal. Do follow directions of this handy guide: http://etuix.deviantart.com/art/How.....YPAL-132374855

General | Posted 11 years agoWHOA, BOY...that was something.
Incase the notice isn't enough, apparently this site was attacked by a server-overloading attack. At a glance, looks like info and picture stock is ok, so don't think any data was lost. At first, I thought like the rest of you, this was just a downtime thing for maintenance or whatever, but nope, it was an attack.
Thankfully the site is back, but they're still fixing things. Funny, as I was going to work in a project the next day when the site was down, ha! But I'm going to refrain a little bit from uploading anything till the guys and the host get the site back up in top shape, no use adding more data to the mix right? Though seems people are still uploading regardless even in read-only mode...but oh well...
Have to admit, these kind of attacks are just freaking annoying, as there's no real "goal" in mind. I've seen the movie Hackers, and there are good versions of people who use code and the network for positive things (or reinventing new things), but there's always a dark side to it. Scammers, information takers, fishing for funds, stuff like that. It's illegal, yeah, and nothing good people should have to face...but as weird as it sounds, least there's a "goal".
Attacks like this, overloading a system, isn't a goal...it's just plain discord chaos for no real reason (other than maybe just for the mere anarchy). Even antagonism has it's standards...
Ironic, considering me and ALMA were tracking an electromagnetic disturbance and all...it was on-ship, not on Earth, but still, ironic.

Octoberrrrrr!
General | Posted 11 years agoMy brush with death was met with interesting results...but then again, if I'm talking now, pretty much spoils that ha!
Anyway, it's been a long month transition for me, and I'm still working on a loooootttaaa stuff, busy busy busy.
In my time off, I finally got into working on Dinsye Infinity 2.0. Not sure exactly what to say on the matter...the skill trees are interesting, mostly for the Marvel Characters, which gives them new attacks and such (and you should see how far that Black Window chick jumps 0_o). As for previous characters, the 1.0 version, you unfortunately do NOT get such special stuff. Sure, those who have guns at the start, like Jack Sparrow, get extra clip-size and firing speed, but from what I've seen so far, not too big. Pity that...
The Marvel Playset? Well, the city is bigger...but that's about it. Plays almost like the previous sets. There are some interior areas though (though it seems you may not be able to make these sort of things in the Toy Box though), which is nice...
I WILL say that the boss fights have improved dramatically. They actually feel like boss fights rather than enemy waves this time.
Collectible-wise, there aren't any new toys to work with, just a few vehicles (though I did start in the Toy Box with a grappling hook I didn't have before). There are a lot of unlockable concept arts though, through the use of character "boxes" that specific characters can get. Note, of course, being Disney, that you need more characters than you'd get in your starter box to get them all.
Toy Box Games, though, were pretty awesome! I haven't done too many Tower Defense games, but this one was fun! I liked the managing of money, rewards, and trap placement. I like favoring the kill box method, of putting up a barrier with laser guns and freeze orbs in front of it theeheh...the guys try to break the barriers while getting massacared ha ha!
The Dungeon Crawler was the one I was looking forward to, as I like those games. You DO get little bobble-headed side-kicks, with power/defense/seek abilities (though nothing solely-unique. The last one, "seek", is responsible for opening this bin thingies that hold either health, purple-ability-fillers, or (what you REALLY want) a piece of Sidekick Loot. You generally find these in loot chests too, and they're used to build up your sidekick's stats. They don't help in fights as often as you may want, but they can do fair enough in a fight.
Of course, for these, you can only use marvel characters.
I haven't messed TOO much with the Toy Box yet, but hope to make my own Dungeon Crawler...but then again I should go back and make sure I get all those items I missed. Seek Level 10 here I come!
Not to mention, I have a good idea for a backstory involving a certain marvel agency....
========
Off that, it is October! Fav month this. Halloween and such! Scary LPs and replays of some horror games will follow. Not sure what's going to be the big release this month (have heard of Silent Hills somewhere down the road, through the PT Trailer), but who knows.
Not sure exactly what my plans will be, but I'll be working on ideas with the stuff I've got. Hopefully it will be enjoyable!

Infinity 2.0 (again!)
General | Posted 11 years agoOk, was going to do this later, but figured, now!
Anyway, as I said before, looking forward to Infinity 2.0 and hoping it lives up to the hype.
As I was scanning over their list of figures (bout time Stitch came out, as we saw him way back near the start), I began to wonder...what ones were I looking for personally?
Randall I obviously have (and looking forward to his special moves in this version), but what other Disney/Marvel/Star Wars (probably 3.0) am I looking forward to?
Or, more to question, what ones would I like to see?
Well so far I can think of three.
First off, the REAL mascot of Disney's Epcot center, Figment! Yep, a dragon. Obviously. I mean COME ON! The kid (well he acts like one) has been around forever and has been a leading mascot for Disney for even longer. Why hasn't HE gotten a figure yet? Sure, Mickey's got one, and that's great, but lets let the guys a step below get some!
I mean it's obvious to have him as a figure. Maybe the difficult is what special things he could do. As far as I've see, Figment can do a heck of a lot having access to "Hammerspace" and all, and with 2.0's skill tree, he can access a bunch of possibilities. Imagination's the limit ha!
And you can't tell me that the "Spark" currency did NOT come from the "One Little Spark" eh? The whole opening was coming from him pfft.
Plus, did you hear Figment has a MARVEL COMIC book series out? Yep, that's right. Marvel is producing a 5-comic bundle of the origin of this purple dragon. Done up right in a not-so-cutesy fashion, it's already a hit with it's original prints going fast! Come on Disney, if now's not the chance to put his figure out, your missing out.
The other two a semi-mascots, but are really a cross-over. Iago and Zazu! That's right, the parrot and hornbill (NOT TUCAN!) that had the Enchanted Tiki Hut for awhile. These guys come from Disney's hayday of movies, and they were already paired down the line for the Tiki Hut, so why not? Give'em flying from the start as an ability and pecking as an attack and your good to go.

RIP Robin
General | Posted 11 years agoI was about half-way through the day when I was alerted of another celebrity death. A lot of'em are either expected or "on-the-wait" list for one reason or another from the cons-list of being a celebrity itself.
This one? Robin Williams.
Now, I wasn't born on this planet, yeah, but one thing I do like is games and films. And in most with films, I do know Robin Williams. From his comedic roles such as Popeye and that dad in RV, to his animated voice work of Genie and Fender, to his drama as Patch Adams and Seymour "Sy" Parrish....Robin Williams has done so much and more. Some-what described as his-generation's Bob Hope, Robin has entertained millions and will be missed.
RIP Robin. They had a lot of pictures to show on that news story about you, and as said in your role as Sy:
"If these pictures have anything important to say to future generations, it's this: I was here. I existed. I was young, I was happy, and someone cared enough about me in this world to take my picture."

Anxiety and Pointy Things
General | Posted 11 years agoI'm pretty sure I'm not alone in the fact that doctors and dentists, and their various implements, make me feel queasy and make me want to run for the hills.
I'm scheduled for a dental debridement tomorrow, and I'm partly freaking out. I've SEEN vids of the stuff, and even nice looking choppers go all with "the red stuff" when the get "car washed" with that water hose. Needless to say, I think the first lesson of biology is "keep the red stuff IN you, not out". By now, though, it's something to be expected I guess.
Still, I'm hoping that it won't have risks/further complications after it. Hope that doing it is the RIGHT thing to do. Probably the best thing, but when it comes to medical stuff, I'm not much the optimist.
Update: To any concerned, seemed to have went well! Of course, my hesitation of pointy things will remain!

If it ain't broke...
General | Posted 11 years ago...somebody else'll fix that, and break it. -_-
Having a little trouble with the latest transmission. Apparently something weird's going on with the flash thingy uploader. Trying what I can to fix the problem. So patience! If not patience, go in the other room and break something (not valuable).

Two Years!
General | Posted 11 years agoWell, it's been two years since first transmission. Missed out on it the first time I think, but this time I caught it. Sooooo...happy anniversary to me *waves white flag*
....wait that's for surrender...I need to make my own flag to wave -_-

Infinity 2.0
General | Posted 11 years agoAs I was peering through my umm..."borrowed" subscription of GameInformer, I noticed an article involving Skylanders. Honestly, I've only got the first and haven't touched it yet, so probably not going to go too into it since it bouyed from Spyro's name and shouldn't have association...but it DID mention about Disney Infinity's new push.
Yep, Disney Infinity 2.0!
If you haven't heard, Disney brought out Marvel a long time ago...and like most franchises, they're going to milk it for what it's worth. "Marvel Super Heroes" is the term attached, but I prefer "2.0" for a reason I'll say in a moment...
Apparently, Iron Man, Thor, and Black Widow (Remember? The Russian chick who liked the guy with the bow?) are packaged within with Captain American, the Hulk (SMASH!), and Hawkeye (Remeber? The guy with the bow who liked that chick? *snicker*) to follow.
Ok, I got this off wiki, give me a break. Maleficent is on there too...probably in anticipation of that film about her which looks...interesting I guess.
(on the thought of Spyro, let's see Epcot's proper mascot, Figment, get a figure! Heck, him and Dreamfinder are getting Marvel comic surprisingly.)
Anyway, I've broken the bank on my Vault...and proved that, yes, there's disc-locked content. If you want everything IN THE VAULT, you gotta have all the powerdiscs and stuff. You can't win it all.
Randall's still hovering at level 14 (I'm going PURE growth here, no level tricks for him, he's not a cheater!), and I've got a Hero Hall that's looking pretty spiffy. At first, I was under the thought that "aww great...I can't bring the figures I've worked on over can't I?"
This is where "2.0" comes in, and beats Skylanders and it's Portals to dust.
You CAN, apparently, bring your original group into 2.0! And what's more, they get access to the new stuff too! Again, wiki, don't lie to me. That "wha?" level cap of 15 goes to 20, giving me Fallout flashbacks, and there seems to be a "Skill Tree" addition. How it works? Dunno. Maybe you get points like in Borderlands every level to point into skills (hopefully your levels carry over. SHOULD, considering the Hall of Heroes and all). I'm hoping it's unique to each character though, and not all generic. Customization is a great game mechanic. It notes the Hulk can climb buildings...hopefully they don't forget that Randall can do that too and include that for him.
Apparently Power Discs are also going to include "Team-Ups", summoned-in characters to help you battle. Unsure exactly of the extent, but guessing with all the marvel characters out there to work with, a lot of them will be included. I'm guessing it's a match up to those opening helpers you see in the intro of Disney Infinity 1.0 and that "light warrior" toy from Lone Ranger.
Now, a big bit with Infinity is it's Toy Box mode. They SAY they're going to heavily improve it, as well as more user-friendly tools and interior areas.
One of my gripes with Infinity's Toy Box is some seemingly-simple additions. One of the biggest to me is text-related stuff. You know, your creating a game basically...so it's nice to have some objective here or there and some direction sometimes. Simple, but it wasn't there.
And don't get me started on the water.
Overall, I like that the original batch can be brought over to this new, and hopefully improved, edition. Comes out around September or so, so hopefully they'll start showing some gameplay toyboxing showcases as the months pass by.
...wait....does this mean that there will be a 3.0....WITH STAR WARS!? IN SPACE?! Jeez, that's my life...
Imagine THAT skill tree....force powers all over the place...oh man, what about the Dark Side powers?? *chagrins*

Spring! Your Late!
General | Posted 11 years agoOk, so weather doesn't exactly affect me on-ship, but still...ya look down and for awhile all you see is snow...sure, it's fun...but then you start waiting for that good ole' sun to stick around. Well, seems spring might finally start moving around this side of the planet.
All...pools...parks open...trips are made...beach parties...
Me? I'm comfortable in my padded seats with a Kickstarter in one hand and a controller in the other ha!
Really, I'm not much of a go-out guy when the weather turns humid. Fair scales I guess...getting a burn hurts ouch.
But still, spring and fall are supposedly those "mid-weather" bits. Not too hot, not too cold. Just the right temperature. Heck, I fall asleep when it's cold enough and stay hyped when it's hot (mostly because I can't sleep). But whoa, thank air conditioners and adjust-temp pillows.
Wow, I'm ranting. Ah well, figured to put SOMETHING up.

RIP Mika...and Infinity Awaits!
General | Posted 12 years agoFirst off, those who caught Walking Dead's episode....
Spoilers to follow, you were warned, in case someone say's I didn't heheh.
I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I KNEW she was the one giving the mice to the walkers! I knew there was something wrong with that girl from the moment she starting giving them names, and was pretty much sure when she was on the tip of suffocating Judith. That girl was messed up in the head! Knew she'd do something to endanger the group but...wow...what she DID DO? Man, I was yelling at the screen.
I didn't think too much of Mika during the season, as she went a few different ways, but her uplifting "know what to do, but can't kill" attitude and trying to look on the bright side of things reminded me of Hershel. So I got to get a good amount of respect and affection character-wise toward her....and then THAT HAPPENED!?
Jeez, can't Carol get a break from crap happening around her? Dead-beat woman-beater husband, dead daughter, killed two sick people, abandoned by Rick, had to work with the man-of-the-woman-she-killed, had to do the stuff in...THAT episode....I mean wow.
Anyway, RIP Mika...not so much your sister...maybe she was confused or maybe a psychopath...but either way at least Talking Dead did tribute for you.
===================
Ok, lets go to lighter things shall we? *deep breath*
Anybody hear that Gamestop did a Disney Infinity Day yesterday or so? I barely got the news in the night before. Anyway, thanks to some sales, and probe manipulation, I managed to grab the three Play Sets they have at half price! Yay! Been wanting to get back to things on there and work some more in the box, so...gathering up some material.
I did the Toy Story one first because of the space theme, which I guess hits more home for me, literally. Mostly about colonizing a planet full of those three-eyed alien dudes. It was cool how big the area was, and when I got that booster and jetpack, really opened up exploration. The "goos" came in here, which is weird since I got the panels for those earlier in the box. The battle simulations actually got fun and a little challenging later on. Finished it, and think I got everything aside from Woody's chests and the main vault. Overall, I enjoyed it, and can't wait to see all the spacey stuff I got to use myself in the Toy Box!
Cars is, naturally, racing and a lot of fetch-questing. Nearly done it and a little disappointed....you get NO packs/tools...aside from toe-cable/booster/wrecking ball upgrades (the later, if I recall, isn't even in that circle of packs/tools, as that button is for driving). From what I've seen so far, you don't get those cool weapons (machine guns, missiles, mortars) unless in the challenges. Sure, there's stunting (which annoyed me at first way back with the bikes in MU), but overall...ehh...not really as good as TS was, and smaller too.
You know what they should have done? Well...Radiator Springs is, of course, nice and all, and probably where it takes place...but why not bring more Cars 2 elements in? I mean, we have Holly as playable and Finn is running the surplus (why isn't Finn playable again?)...so why not add some spy elements to things? I mean, a main feature, I thought, of playing Cars characters would be those cool weapons. Why not have some combat...like uhh C.H.R.O.M.E (the people Finn works for) has some kind of opposite, bad-guy organization (like uhh that doctor-guy with the monocle) that is trying to do...uhh...SOMETHING...and it involves racing and combat. But that's just me.
Lone Ranger I haven't done yet, need to watch the movie personally so I get what's going on properly.
But yep, earning a few Spins as I go, getting stuff for the Box...and hopefully get everything that's in that little bugger to create some cool things.
....and by that point Disney will release a 2.0 version that you have to buy all over again and start all over again on. Marketing...it's a killer.
===================

I AM THE SAVIOR....almost. Also, Sticks.
General | Posted 12 years agoPhew, as said before, I am booking to get the latest transmission finished, so I'm scarcer than usual to put effort into it. That aside, I still game to take a break when possible.
So, Lightning Returns update! First day was kind of slow since I had to get use to everything. I was intrigued following those cult people, considering they showed up at a specific time and all. Luxerion is kind of cool....and the music was nice and all with some jazzy beats. I felt kind of bad beating the crap out of that dragon in that chaos sphere for a quest though....for about the first three seconds...then I got into battle mode and was going "YOU ARE GOING DOWN!!!"
Highlights aside...took me a bit to find that one last clock for that later quest...but overall all of them aren't too hard. Still gotta finish that one to get the Dark Knight costume (kind of annoying waiting an entire day to finish it, but ehh, I got 5 left).
But I AM eternally grumbly at one little girl named Dulce who ruined my perfect quest record -_- MUST RAGE! See, this little girl wanted me to find her Carbuncle doll...in North Station...simple enough. But can only pick it up at a specific time, something about it touching Chaos and fading in and out. Ok, by this time, I've done all the main questions and enough mini-ones to get to 14 days (still shows 13, but better not lie to me), so I KIND OF use a guide to help me fix things up. Come on, time-based game, so helps. Anyway, I pick up the doll...but it's red, not green. Felt that was weird...anyway, handed it off to the kid...and she starts going all sad and hopeless because it's not green. I was like...what? Lighty starts going that she just "broke" the girl and I had to admit I felt bad. So...ok, maybe I spent too much time on other stuff and it was a timed quest. Ok...fine, I'll deal with it. I later find out...THERES A SECOND DOLL. That's right, the RIGHT one (the green one) is in a DIFFERENT PLACE than what she said. How was I suppose to know without a guide?? I can't even go to pick it up for the kid to make amends. Ugh...so yeah, I can do every other one right BUT that one...wouldn't be so bad if Dolce didn't do a "creepy girl laugh" that nearly made me wet my dia...Mag....*shivers* Seriously creepy.
Ok...rage passed...for now.
Yusaann is party city....lots of stuff. Singers, tournaments, and a butt-load of restaurants. People are basically partying to the end of the world and not worrying too much. I have to admit, the bit that stands out most is in the main quest when Lighty's plan to get into the Palace goes. Reminded me of FFX-2's opening...but her declaration on if who she's serving will betray her is just WOW. Also, he bit with Snow is perhaps one of the most uplifting bits in the whole series. Brought a tear to my eye...aww...
Wildlands. Ok, think Calmlands from FFX...but BIGGER. Farmers, researchers, hidden moogles...and chocobos! Not only that, but I was SURPRISED to ACTUALLY get a party member for the area. Not only is he practically invincible (though still heals himself for some reason), but now he's tossing out weakness spells to help me stagger the big boys. Won't spoil who he is, but was a surprise to me.
Although, big tip for you first/struggle timers...remember to plant seeds (three places, three different results)...use behemoths to replemish your EP.....wait to face most Last Ones in the field (Chaos spheres can spawn randomly, dramatically improving what you get)....
And.................DO NOT FACE THE MAIN QUEST BOSS TILL AFTER THE OTHERS! Seriously, if you think your helpful party member will be there to help, he's not. Go in unprepared, and your toast. He brings the other bosses to shame. I admit it, he whooped my padded tail twice...or three times, can't remember. All I can say is "Artemis" and "Hoods" to not spoil things. Also, game gave me a break. When I learned my lesson, I teleported out. When I came back all prepared, I dreaded treking all the way back. Good news? Somebody's there just inside to teleport you to the top. Thanks for the break game! Much appreciated!
Dead Dunes...so much sand. So much, I thought some got into my Mag....
Anyway, another party member can join in here! Fun too...go all Lara Croft in tomb raiding (yes, I know, there IS actually a Garb of that!)...sand surfing...and plenty of skeletons. The timed doors may had been annoying, but thankfully not to the point that I wasn't able (I think?) to get everything in my two runs.
Another little tip. Try to get as much as you can done (particularly those Cactaurs and Earth Eaters and Lost Ones if your up for that. OH! Also, the bonus boss (if that's around before the end of the quest)) BEFORE finishing the main quest. It was SUCH a bummer the party members leaves permanently after that. Yay, I get to face the big boys alone.
Also, I recently found that Rare Forge! And I wasn't even looking for it! Yay! Just have to find it again when the new stuff goes in the store.
But yep, got all my Mains done and nearly all the side-stuff....just gotta get a few more done and I'm practically just waiting for the Last Day. Of course, I gotta start raising money...been using those Beggars Beads so much, I'm nearly broke. Thank ripped pockets for Medals I haven't sold yet eh? Hehehe.
NO SPOILERS please...I'm looking forward to the ending and the challenge.
Sticks? Who said sticks? Oh I did heheh.
Next game on my to-do list may very well be South Park's Stick of Truth! Sure, dipping fund-wise...but I've seen the previews, and SP Studios has really taken up the gauntlet to involve themselves in THIS game rather than developers that made the....other stuff.
Yes, I watch the show and laugh like heck. Sure, it's crude and has...advanced subject matter. But don't let the padding fool you, I'm mature. Well....I AM.
Anyway, it's RPG, and I like that genre...plus, looks like it's going to be freakin' funny, and we can all use some comedy can't we?

Thunderstruck!
General | Posted 12 years agoPhew, been some time and still working hard, but figured to note something.
Tomorrow, Lightning Returns comes out!
I've been looking forward to this next (last?) installment of the FF13 series (not counting Versus-turned-15), and now it's just a few hours from release! Already got my pre-down for a few of the costumes, but I'll try the game out pro-bono without the extra stuff to get a proper experience.
Anyway, I couldn't work up a transmission, but I'd like to say a little something for the occasion. In case I didn't rant earlier...
Spoilers ahead!
Final Fantasy 13
When I FINALLY got a PS3 way after it's initial release, FF13 was one of the first games I nabbed for it. Sure, it was linear for most of the time (practically Gran Pulse was the only non-linear bit), but hey...Square wanted to go in a different direction briefly and come on...they did a great job. The linear bit, accompanied by the switching between character-squads, allowed for a more personal, more emotional story. Sure, I like game play, but I also want some good story, and 13 delivered.
Lighting fighting for Serah.
Sazh and Vanille's hidden issues.
Hope and Snow's obvious-to-clueless issues.
Fang's...well...can't remember heheh.
But anyway, there were a lot of good tense moments and reveals and it just felt epic. A story that started with a simple rescue...turned into a forced quest the stay alive...then the reveal that what your being made to do will cause destruction and death...and fighting against that forced fate with every ounce of strength you have!
One thing I did have trouble with is...fights were kind of mandatory. While the random encounter is classic, the touch-encounter (such as when enemies are on-screen, you touch'em, then battle) allows strategy and lets the player pick their fights rather than leave a wake of destruction in their path (you think bees and rabbits would get not to mess with you when you slaughtered enough to make them an endangered species).
I think I remember RARELY, if ever, managing to go through avoiding a fight. Sure, you got veils...but getting those things are weird with the mechanics (think you have to suck at a fight to get a chance at getting them)...and when you CAN buy them, expensive as heck.
Also, the drops. Getting items is difficult. You may do a fight great, but not getting anything other than XP for it. That would be ok if not for the fact that upgrading your weapons AND buying stuff is based on your loot. Kind of like FF12, but at least drop rates were fair. Believe me, had to focus more on the weapons I managed to get from chests and plenty of potions my first-time through.
And stars help ya when you face one of those Eidolons unprepared. (The Shiva sisters were fair enough but....Yes, Odin kicked my padded tail across the room too. I'm good, but Odin shut me up.)
Final Fantasy 13-2
When 10's sequel came out, people were skeptical. A three-party team of sometimes-scantily clad women?.....Excuse me....
Ok, got my change....tahaha! Kidding kidding! Just had to joke on that hehehe.
But anyway, I might talk about it some other time, but 10's sequel, to me, did really well. FF13's sequel? Well....
The story involves time-lines going all whacky after Serah gets saved. Lighting is missing, and distortions aplenty are everywhere, causing paradoxes. So, enter guy-from-fallout-future Noel who joins Serah to fix things and find Lightning.
We at least get a sorta-explanation to how Lightning and the and the gang didn't end up as failed-Fal'cie rock monsters (for once the cheezy "power of will, friendship, love and whatever" goes out the window), and how it really just screwed everything up.
Enter "I-want-to-destroy-everything-and-stop-time-for-someone-I-like" guy Caius who is basically an immortal wet-blanket who just doesn't get that he's ruining everything for everybody.
In the end? Well...that's debatable given the several endings (if you can find all those dang Fragments in a guide-dang-it streak). But surprisingly...the good girl DIES and the bad guy WINS! Can you believe that!? Nice to have a realistic smack to the kisser, but I mean come on! Serah dead, Noel in distress, and the world's getting eaten by Chaos. TALK ABOUT A DOWNER.
Which...is why...I'm looking forward to settling the score with Caius. And BIG SIS is going to step in and whoop him AND his crow-wing-looking-sword (which, if I recall from gameplay, you get to use in a costume!)
Well...the sequel improved one thing. You may not be able to avoid every battle (but better than in FF13 still) but you can CERTAINLY do something that was even harder in FF13...surprise your enemy. I was able to do this quite well, and was glad for it. Drops are at least better this time AND you get gil for your fights too. Upgrading weapons isn't AS critical this time around, so your pretty much ok on that front.
The main change is the gotta-catch'em-all skill that Serah has of controlling monsters (don't worry Randall, doubt she can control you....maybe). Not sure why this mechanic was brought in at all...but *shrugs* oh well, it's catchy. Most of the drops you get are items that improve your monster companions, who help based on whatever their role is.
Aside from that...while gameplay was much easier...the story got kind of...mixed up. Especially when you keep having to go to different time periods for other stuff. Granted, still good, but not as good as FF13 was. So, ok original, you win story, but sequel wins gameplay.
=========
Ok...so hopefully Lightning Returns mixes the best of both together. And I'm looking forward to the class-change bits too, really liked the Dresspheres in 10-2 and know it was a unique feature way back in one of the one-digit FFs. Considering Lightning is suppose to be this "savior", she definitely has to fight like one. And the concept of "saving souls" and lives seems like an epic thing to be in control of. A little worried about the time-limit-esque plot but...hopefully it works out!

Back from Blowout!
General | Posted 12 years agoWELL, that was annoying. The transmitter blew it's power supply, and I had to dig through for a replacement. Apparently have too much stored in the thing...I think.
Anyway, I finally got it up and running and can, hopefully, start transmitting again soon.
Also...Happy New Year!

Give a Hand, a Claw, a Paw
General | Posted 12 years agoPhew, wow, it's been awhile but this site is finally back in working order with just the kinks to work out.
Let's all just take a moment and give a hand a...well you know, it's the subject...to the admins and task crew of FurAffinity for handling the situation. Yeah, sure, it took time and may have been annoying to some people, but so what? There's more than a ton of data on sites like these with probably thousands and thousands of members, not like it ain't going to crash every now and then. The point of the matter is, that after the dust clears, it's back up and running.
...if it's not, THEN you can go all Drederick Tatum.
I kid I kid hehehe. But yeah, give a hand for the guys and gals cause they work hard (I think) to keep this place running!
Ok...Christmas updates uhh...dunno. Working around the ship at the moment, so haven't really been able to work on any transmissions for now, but hopefully get there later on.

Walking Dead Mid-Season Finale
General | Posted 12 years agoNOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!......But I expected it.
Just watched through the mid-season finale of the Walking Dead, and wow. It got itself a slow build-up with the tension, then LITERALLY exploded into a full-out oh-my-freaking-gawd war.
Those who've seen it know who dies(RIP), and know who ELSE dies (YEAH).
Man, I am reeling from the events here. I GET why it happened the way it happened, I understand it, but wow was it just...wow. Looking forward to where they go from here (they never did "state" about that whole rat thing I don't think, but I have my theories), but it is shaping up that now that they're out and scattered...it's going to be wild.
I was shocked (but expecting) at that one death and cheered-like-heck at the other one. Mixed emotions, but what the hey, it's a great show and I'm looking forward to more!

The Chaotic November
General | Posted 12 years agoSo Halloween is over, unfortunately, and my candy rush has died down, so that means we're on to...!....Uhh...wait that's December. Let me see....things for November...well the day Randall got thrown in the Human World was a few days ago, forgot to mention that...maybe I should check in on him...uhh...lets see...list of holidays.
Wow...did you know that today (given a few hours) is suppose to be "Chaos Never Dies Day" ? Suppose to be a day where you recognize all the humdrum chaotic events of your life the year thus far.
...REALLY? Humans get themselves an actual day for this stuff? Well when you think about it...with all the hectic stuff that goes on in people's lives, do ya REALLY want to spend a whole day looking back on all that crap?
Wonder what's better...today and remembering all the crud that's gone on in a year...or yesterday, remembering where the word "dunce" comes from.
Then again, wait till Novemeber 18th...and you'll get a return to the Halloween favor, Occult Day!
....Ok, a few ground rules for that holiday. No summoning demons and opening a portal to a Lovecraftian murder smorgasbord. I think that covers the worst...now...

Halloween Update Soon...maybe...hopefully...dunno.
General | Posted 12 years agoOk, yeah, so haven't updated in a while, been a busy month. But hopefully soon I'll have some Halloweeny-stuff coming up before the end of the month!
If not...I'll leak into November. Did it last time for anybody who wanted some more spookiness and what not before Christmas stuff started coming in.
So hang in there and hopefully I'll have some stuff next week!

Dead Men Are Walking...uh...Again!
General | Posted 12 years agoOk, so have been watching some horror flicks here and there...some are ok, but haven't really been getting a Halloweeny vibe. I think it's because while horror is good for horror, Halloween has a bit of mystery to it too. I think ones like "Hocus Pocus" which actually have a plot around Halloween do more for the season. Come on, we need some holiday-centric flicks!
Anyway, I digress...why? Because The Walking Dead Season 4 is coming! Yeah, been awhile (especially since season 2 and 3, if I remember right, had such a short wait time between each other), but now the current mainstay-zombie-series is returning with new 'sodes. Excited? You bet I am! I'm not so much a drama guy...but they do it so well I just get sucked in! I hope the large break hasn't dulled my senses once I get back in the series...though I can never forget what happened to a certain "blonde" near (or at) the end of Season 3. Poor gal...
Anyway, wondering what's going to happen. Hopefully I can get Spyro and Randall in on the action. And from the previews, seems to be plenty of action!

Halla at ya Halloween!
General | Posted 12 years agoOk, I don't have anything yet, maybe later, but I just had to acknowledge one of my favorite holidays on this planet!
Halloween!
I've journal-ed about it before, but it's still an awesome holiday. I may not have mentioned, we don't really have something like this back home. Sure, you've still got people dressing up like cosplayers or for those high-classey dress-parties....but there are different practices I guess with every culture.
Anyway, enough of that. Work aside, I'll be trying to enjoy myself with re-plays of some of my horror-elemental VGs and viewing Lets Play's of others I have yet to (or may not) acquire. Resident Evil! Silent Hill! And....uhh....other ones!
I'm also a little interested in how Spyro and Randall handle this holiday, so I'll be scouting them out too. Of course, I still got a transmission to finish...somehow...but I'll try to get in some stuff for the holiday flavor if I can.

What-? A Year?
General | Posted 12 years agoYou know, with the summer beat coming and MU stuff...I realized...I forgot! Few weeks ago, I've been here a year 0_o
Crrruuuuuddddd! Forgot to do something special! Ugh...good thing this wasn't an actual anniversary...still, thought it would need some recognition.
So anyway...been here a year! Yay, I guess, and I didn't blow anything up!
Thanks to cavewolfunit00, Turanic, tessanekogami, all my commenters/favoriters/watchers!
