This account is moving to DA/Weasyl
Posted 11 years agoYeah. I haven't been very active here in a long time anyway, since I almost never draw. My main (sewing/3d arts) account will still be active on FA simply because I depend on the commissions I get here through that account, but this one is moving, and if I can ever find a suitable substitute I may move my writing as well.
Where to see my drawn art:
http://bladespark.deviantart.com/

http://bladespark.tumblr.com/
My sewing is mixed in on all of those, but DA and Weasyl at least have folders, so it can be viewed alone if you so desire. :)

If you like my ponies, be sure to check out my pony tumblr
Posted 12 years agoI've started one of those pony ask blogs. http://obscurerarity.tumblr.com/ I may upload the occasional pic from it here, but mostly I probably won't, since they'll be kind of sketchy. So you'll need to go follow it if you'd like to see them all. :)
Fennec ball-pet kickstarter
Posted 12 years agoHey guys! If you haven't seen this already over at
bladespark you should check it out: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects.....d-pet-in-resin
^That is a kickstarter campaign to get the fennec pet doll critter things I've been making professionally cast in resin. You can go donate and get one of your very own!
Even if you don't want to donate, I'd appreciate it if you could pass the link along, I want to spread this as far as I can.

Too much going on
Posted 12 years agoSorry I haven't uploaded any drawings in forever. I've been way too busy and stressed with everything going on with my fursuit/plush business. I want to draw, but I have no time. ;.;
Spreading winter cheer - art giveaway
Posted 13 years agoThis time of year a lot of people are depressed, stressed, broke, overworked, and otherwise struggling. (Count me among them on several of the above counts.) I felt like trying to cheer a few people up somehow, and what better way than with free art?
Here's the deal though. This is about cheering people up, not about a "gimme" grab. So what I'm going to do is let you fine folks suggest *other* people who need a little cheer right now. You don't have to prove that they're really depressed, or even explain why you think they could use cheering up. All you have to do is name somebody (with a link to their FA or an e-mail or something, so I can send them the result when it's done.) If you know a particular character they'd like to see, or particular subject or whatever, feel free to suggest one.
Please don't suggest yourself. Please don't ask other people to suggest you or use a sock account or anything like that. Be nice. :)
I CANNOT GUARANTEE I'LL DRAW EVERYONE. This is something I'm doing in my fairly small amount of spare time, so I may not get to everyone, and it may take a long time to do even the first few. So I make no promises. But I'll do what I can.
So go ahead and comment with anybody you know who needs a little cheering up this winter. :)

Dicks
Posted 13 years agoFunny thing. I just had somebody accuse me of being a hater. Why? Because he was leaving hateful comments and I blocked him.
Irony, how I love thee. XD
Anyhow, I thought I'd post a little something on the topic. But I don't feel like writing an essay, so I'll just send you to some stuff other people have said on the topic.
First, on the subject of how idiotic it is to pride yourself on hating things: http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-7-s.....-people-proud/
Second, Will's Rule: http://www.urbandictionary.com/defi.....ton%27s%20Rule
And lastly, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0la5DBtOVNI
You are not cool, or hip, or anything good if you run around hating on the things people like. You're just being a dick. And when you hate on people who gave you free art, you are a HUGE douchecanoe. (Yes, the guy sending me frothing ranting was somebody I'd drawn free art for. And people wonder why I'm reluctant to ever draw free art. This would be one of the big reasons why.)
P.S. When you go to the trouble of looking up the e-mail of somebody who's blocked you to tell them that you don't care... you're making it very clear that you DO care! XD

Random blargh
Posted 14 years agoMight as well get the ancient Rainfurrest post off my front page.
Anyhow. REALLY not feeling the art muse right now. Times like this make me glad I don't draw for a living, I can just say "meh" and not draw for a while. I'll pick it up again soon, I'm sure.
Although I DO have some bead sprites coming up! That, at least, I'm not burnt out on. Thank goodness.

Rainfurrest this weekend
Posted 14 years agoI shall be there. :D I won't do that meme thing again, I did that already over at my
bladespark account. I'll have a booth, with tails, ears, a few small plushes, and some other odds and ends. I won't be advertising drawing commissions, but if you want to get one I will have art supplies along, just in case. So just ask. :)

Do you like dragons? Art contest!
Posted 14 years agoI realized I haven't mentioned this here. I'm holding an art contest! The rules, details, etc. are over on my (somewhat more popular) sewing account. Check it out. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2479291/
:(
Posted 14 years agoAll right. I just have to ask. I'll probably regret it. But I have to anyhow.
WHY have you people +faved the scribbledragon? Why, why, why, why, why? Why is that getting more favs than half my gallery? What is it about a piece of 20 minute crap that's so great? And what is it about the art I've put my time and thought and care into that makes it get ignored?

Patient customers = love
Posted 14 years agoSo there was quite a gap of not much stuff getting done in there. That's because over in my sewing/3d arts account I was working like a MAD thing on a heap of horrible deadlines. No horrible deadlines this month though, so I'm taking it easy on the sewing and trying to catch up on everything else. Which has resulted in me doing some art, woot.
There's still lots more to do, I have a phoenix to color, a dragon portrait to color, two more owl bears to draw and color, and then a set of 20-ish little watercolor doodle painting things. So I'm busybusybusy.
I am still open for new commissions, especially adoptable eggs, but obviously anything new is going to take even longer than this current batch has.
But anyhow, I wanted to say thank you to my current customers, who have been awesomely patient. :D Other than the one nutjob nobody's even bothered me for progress in weeks and weeks. Not that I mind being *politely* bothered for progress, but still. Patient customers are awesome, so thanks you guys!

Do you like scribbles?
Posted 14 years agoFinished with paying work for the day, but I still feel like drawing. Nothing finished or refined though, I Just want to do a little scribble.
First person to comment gets one. :) No accuracy or quality guaranteed.

Bead sprites and commission status
Posted 14 years agoI've closed my commissions for the time being. Too much on my plate! I am still taking bead sprites, and adoptables, but even those will not be done immediately, they take time. :)
Still, if you're interested in one, don't hesitate to drop me a note, e-mail, comment, etc. Prices starting at just $5 for sprites and $6 for adoptables, which is frankly pretty darn cheap for the time and materials you're getting.
(Actually technically prices start as low as you want to go, as I have some of the name-your-own-price adoptables left. Just anything under $6 will be mostly in black and white.)

A warning
Posted 14 years agoDo not do business with
PoisonousVixen
They accused me of cheating them, lied to me about having tried to contact me, and generally behaved VERY badly. All because I didn't produce their art within LESS THAN FIVE DAYS of being paid a small down payment. (Not even the full amount!)
I would suggest that nobody ever do business with them for any reason, they are not worth the hassle.

Did you adopt a lightning egg?
Posted 14 years agoIf you did, please contact me! Your art is done, but when I tried to e-mail you to see if you'd like a high-res scan or the original shipped, the e-mail bounced back, and I can't remember where we discussed your adoptable, so I can't get in touch.
Please comment, note or e-mail me!

Do you want a custom plush?
Posted 14 years agoPlush commissions are open over on my sewing and 3d arts account,
bladespark
Check them out. :) Drawing commissions are open here too, of course. Heck, I even take writing commissions on my writing account
sparkwrites Although since I don't do porn, I don't expect to get any. Nobody pays for clean writing.

Bead sprite commissions
Posted 14 years agoThey're open still. :)
Prices start as low as $5. Just let me know what you'd like and I can give you a quote. Turn around time is pretty quick on these, usually around a week.
In other news, I've sketched all the art I owe people, but I still need to ink and color.

2d commissions open, also 3d arts.
Posted 14 years agoIf you don't watch my 3d arts gallery, you should. Mostly it's plushes and fursuits, with the occasional pony custom or foray into sculpture.
bladespark (And my commissions over there are open too!)
Anyhow, just a reminder that my drawing commissions are open, http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1336303/
And I'm still doing new adoptables too! Another batch of eggs should be up fairly soon, and lots of older eggs are still around. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1977874/

New egg ideas
Posted 14 years agoI'm going to be making another batch of adoptable eggs. I thought I'd see if anybody has suggestions for themes/color schemes they'd like to see done.
Commissions
Posted 14 years agoI only have four adoptables left to do, so I'm opening up commissions again. :) Not only for adoptable eggs, but also for anything else. Well, other than smut, that is. But paintings, badges, etc. are all open.
See here for prices: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1336303/

Random musing again.
Posted 15 years agoSomeday I'd like to find somebody I can collaborate with. I used to collaborate with my brother, and then he went and got this "life" thing.
I've been thinking for ages about starting a web comic, but anything longer than Phoenix Destiny is going to lose my short attention span and never get done. I think sometimes that if I had a partner who could help motivate me it might go better.
Or I might flip my lid and try and kill them. :P I'm not always easy to get along with, which is why I haven't just gone and found some random furry to partner with. I saw one today with an "idea" for a comic, looking for an artist, but I can't picture myself getting along with anybody who's so egotistical that he thinks and artist is going to commit to working for him for free, for years, just because he has an "idea."
It's nearly 6am, I should be asleep, and I am saying random stupid things, go me.

Commissions closed except for adoptables
Posted 15 years agoZOMG Never thought I'd have enough work that I'd want to close new commissions, but there it is. :D Still selling adoptable eggs, but other than that I'm not taking new work right now.
My sewing/3d art account always has open commissions, (go buy something!) but with drawing I prefer to not have a multi-month back-log. People expect to wait months for costumes and plush, people look at you funny when they have to wait months for drawn art.
I'll post again when I open. And thanks to everybody who's bought art recently!
