I have the new Artist Pro 16TP, and.. it's.. taking some time to adjust to.

Things definitely don't feel right compared to the Cintiq I had.

There's no sort of friction to the screen, and it feels like I need to really push down a bit to have things 'click' on a UI.

My lines feel like they're coming out far too thick and far too hard of a line when I draw with a sketching tool.

Maybe I'm just rusty. But this is uncomfy.

And now my Cintiq's broken, and waiting on a new replacement to arrive. It's being shipped through DHL (For Fuck's sake.)

-- NO Southern States. Absolutely not, I despise the heat.

Sorry for the radio-silence recently. I figured the title was pretty succinct enough, that I'm looking to get out of this shithole state, but I should perhaps detail my reasoning, as it's been a wild 20+ years.

First.. I suppose I should start off with why I've been so silent on the matter up until now.

-- I've been trying to build-up a nest egg to take on such a thing. I was unsure of how much I'd need, but I'm getting close to where I think it's a 'doable' amount. Which is why I've been busting-ass on commissions lately. Apologies if I'm still slow.

-- I have been painfully paranoid on the matter, if only because I am unsure how much my family ACTUALLY actively stalks me online. They already do this IRL, mainly over phone or 'surprise' visits to my apartment. Select few have done this to my sister as well, who ALSO wants to leave this fucking area.

-- The Right-wingers here in this state ARE violent, racist pieces of shit, honestly. I've had a friend even recently who switched to voting Blue / Independent / etc. , and he was actively threatened by his father on his life about the subject, citing 'Race war' bullshit and all as well. This state is a fucking hole. The cops are shit, most of anyone I turn to here are shit. The mayor is a lame-duck and does fuck-all about the police or anything of the sort to hold them accountable for jack-shit.

-- The Mother side of the family consists of racists, bigots, druggies, and most of all -- ties to the Klan. I do not wish to be affiliated with this.

-- The Father side of the family (minus said father and anyone who moved out West) -- Are predominantly red and have shown to have ties with 3%ers. They have also screwed me and my current two roommates on housing situations in the past, whether it be rent / repairs / deposit / etc. Wholly irresponsible.

-- Due to these frequent and -increasingly- more pushy behavior from the people I hate the most, it's becoming unsafe to life here almost entirely. I urged my sister to try moving the same -- ESPECIALLY since her confrontations with the Egg-Donor have been violent as well.

The options:

While I have been looking for residency with  Jeschke , our results haven't been coming up with much of anything worthwhile. But my hopes / goals are mainly;

1. Get out of Kentucky.
2. Destination is likely either Illinois or Minnesota at this point. Somewhere North / Colder.
3. If I'm living alone, the rent needs to be DOABLE. 800+ for a single-bedroom or Studio apartment is unacceptable.
4. If I'm living with roommates, I'd prefer them be clean. I'd also prefer them be okay with me using pot for dealing with pain / art / etc.
5. My only allergies consist of only FEW varieties of cats (there are some which mainly make me sneeze a lot..), and shellfish (bad reactions).

Optional 6: Preferably, I'd like to live in a 'legal' state. If you're in the know, you know what this means.

In these times, I know beggars can't be choosers. But any help with getting out of this fucking state would be helpful.

The Week-long internet hiatus is over. Time to see what-all I've done so far.

Alright. I've accumulated that list (among others) in that previous journal. So; I've more or less decided what I'm going to do for the next little while.

Starting Monday, I might go a bit dark across all my platforms -- FA / IB / Twitter / Discord / Telegram / etc.

Over this weekend, I'm going to be trying to regain some energy and drive to start pushing out commissions one-by-one, and mass-upload them when next Friday gets here. Keto and exercise, as per my continued routine, has been absolutely sapping me of energy. I might reduce it to -just- keto for a little while, or try to space out my routine a little more.

But it's been a bit unsafe trying to keep connected wholly to the internet with ADHD shit going on; I just can't quite focus on more than one thing at a time lately and it's driving me -nuts-.

So; I'm going to try to piece together maybe an older laptop or something and hook my tablet to it, devoting to its use as a commission / art platform. For the next little while.

I'll mark off, of course, whenever I finish each bit from my list, one by one. I'll keep people updated, obviously. It's just going to be a little quiet for the next week.

Second.. well; I finally got my car fixed. Fingers-crossed it doesn't fuck up again for a while. The Firebird has been an utter money-sink for a while, and I'm glad I have both it AND its car-loan paid off. So.. hopefully smooth sailing from there.

Also; I've been doing my best to keep doing well on keeping my own personal health in check as well. Perhaps a side-effect of Covid going on, but I've cut out fast-food entirely, and have embraced a Keto diet as well as nigh-daily exercise. I have lost -considerable- weight as a result, and my drive to work has also improved. Most of my updates have been reflected on Twitter and my Website, however. I really wish FA would modernize or do -something- to bring it up to standards with the likes of Inkbunny (in terms of tagging / posting capability /etc.) Come the fuck on. It's 2020 and we still lack an ability to upload MP4s.

As always, I'm also trying to encourage those around me to do better as well. For themselves, for others. And not just aimless advice, either. Attempting to be constructive.. throwing about the possibilities of varying hobbies and activities, learning to craft a lifestyle from them. But unfortunately as I've been learning -- there are many who refuse the help.

Here's the current situation.

I'm trying to get a foot wet in finally doing taxes from my art as a business. Today, however, I found out that.. well.. taxes are fucking high.

All-in-all, I need to make $4,000 before April 15th. In order to not owe anything to the IRS for the past year (in taxes).

I'm going to be putting away maybe 40-50% of my income away into the bank from commissions for the next two months in order to save for this. If I can't reach my goal, I'll try to at least make a big down-payment.

I'm still doing my best to get to past commissioners.. but this puts a fucking damper on things.

So.. Most of the Trello page is now accounted for, and the end of my queue finally in sight. Aside from a couple new things popping up on PoiZen, this is.. probably the least burdened things have been since maybe like.. 4-5 years ago.

It really feels good, to be honest. Not only to be done with so much unfinished an unaccounted work, but also to finally have a more.. I suppose 'consistent' posting / working time I have now.

I thank everyone so far for their patience, as it's been helping to get through this all. Getting through this list was one of my main resolutions for this year, and I'm thankful to say that has been MOSTLY achieved.

It certainly wasn't going to be an overnight thing. In the midst of anxiety and frequent depression bouts, I'm surprised to have gotten this.. quickly done, more or less.

...Man, it's been nearly 9 years since beginning this.

This all started as merely a coping mechanism for something far more dire, and yet I've come to find a community that's been welcoming as a second family. Extended family. Much more an actual one than the mostly-former one I'd come to know all my life.

It wasn't until recently that started to really.. 'click' with me. It's good to be a part of something big.

Never does one think of traveling so far, so much, and actually achieve it. Never dreamed of flying, but achieved it. Never dreamed of owning a car, much less one that's.. appealing on a personal level. So much accomplished this year that is sometimes taken for granted. I hope I never do.

Currently, I am removing commissions from the Trello that have not been paid-for in advance to lighten my work-load. Rather, I'm archiving them on-site.

There's a lot of peeps I didn't realize hadn't done that, so seeing a small handful of commissions from the Trello wiped down is relieving.

In other news, working on at least another one of those paid-for commissions tonight. I'm getting on top of this again.

Let me be clear. The Trello is the commission list that was assembled back during my Crohn's scare a while ago. Only older commissions are kept there. I've been working from both new and old lists (Keeping the latter clean). I'm focusing a little harder on this older list now, however.
