RC truck question. mainly the Slash 4X4
Posted 13 years agoSo I picked up a SLASH 4X4 about a month ago and the ESC craped out on me. I got a new one today ran it and had the battery caseing split as well at some white stuff come out of my ESC buy the battery and motor wires. I don't know what the white stuff is so I'm just asking for some info. I have pics of both if you want to see them.
Training
Posted 13 years agoSo today I finished all of my mandatory Hyundai training. I can say that I'm sooo happy that that batt is done. But I still have more to do if I want to. So that means that I'll be going to Chicago soon or atleast when whenever work gets us all into the class.
I do have some other training to do tho. But this is all for Nissan. I haven't started it yet but it'll be be done quickly.
So I'm one happy mutt right now to say the least.

Work and the comeing weeks.
Posted 13 years agoSo this weekend my self and
huntfox will be driving to Duluth for my brothers College Graduation. And to do some site seeing.
Other than that just normal work. In a few weeks I'll be traveling to Chicago for a bout 3 days total, one day of traveling there, one day of class and then one day of travel back, for work. Hyundai has a company rule that until you have gone through this training you are not qualified to work on their cars. Meaning once I do this training I'll be a tech in the back part of the shop. Also with that, as some of you have seen through my Twitter, they are building a new shop for the Hyundai/Nissan guys aka me and a few of the other techs. Thus also means that I will be in a brand new shop with all new equipment and stuff like that.
Other than that its been over a year since Hunt and myself moved from Maryland to the Minnesota/North Dakota area and we're doing well.
So its been a good year with UPs and a few downs but overall its been a good year. Hunt and myself celebrated our 3(?) year Anaversery together in Jan also.
But that's about it. Have a good one guys and gals.

FERNANDOS from 2 and some of my info on it. ALL GOOD
Posted 13 years agoCopied from 2's journal
Just got the word from Uncle Kage. The Fernando's drive went well, and I want to thank all of you for digging deep to help support this business that has been a friend to the fandom for years now.
If you remember, Fernando's needed $4000 to stay in business until this AnthroCon. He'd need $10,000 to stay open until AnthroCon 2013 and possibly forever. Well, though it was a good effort, we didn't raise $10,000.
We raised $18,954.54.
Folks, I'm completely blown away. We've not only literally saved a business that was kind to us along with several people's jobs, but we made furry history. This is, by far, the largest amount of money any independent, word of mouth fundraiser has ever raised in the furry fandom.
And more than that, I really think we've done something as a fandom that we're going to be able to hold our heads high about. Don't think this isn't going to get attention. I have reliable word that at least three different news publications/stations are going to be at the Fernando's gathering.
So, in short, I want to thank all of you who donated. Some of you gave your last few bucks and some of you donated huge amounts when you're not even going to AC this year!
This is going to sound pompous of me to say, but I've turned from a kid to an old man in this fandom and I often feel a sense of protection and... fatherness toward it. And over the last four days, you guys have made me a very proud bird. I think you've reminded me of why I like to hang out with you crazy fuckers. :)
Congrats, everyone. We decided to do it and we did it! :>
And let this be a lesson to the damned economy...
NO ONE... gets in the way of our fucking bacon maple donuts!
UPDATE:
Read this. The gryphon demands. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pit...../s_737408.html
Now my part.
For those of you bitching and moaning *clears throat* SHUT THE FUCK UP. Those that have donated are doing this for a good reason. Not because some furry couldn't make it to a con. They are saving peoples lively hoods. Fernando is a wonderful man. I talked with him when I went to AC he's awesome and very friendly. He is the embodiment of the "American Dream" he came to this country with nothing and worked his butt of to get where he his now. A small business owner. There are many small businesses failing all around the world right now. We are making sure that at least ONE of them can still strive and survive.
With this fundraiser we are going to show the world that we are not just some crazy people that just have sex in animal costumes. That we are a community that does care for others and strive to help when we have a collective reason. The donations are not just from the US and Canada, they are from ALL OVER the WORLD.

Truck Update and Black Jack
Posted 13 years agoSo today I was reading the Fire Zone laws and what not and it states that "all fire zones must be make and signed" meaning of there is no marking or signs its not a legal fire zone.
So Monday I'm going to the office and talking to them. Here's hopping ^^
In other news I was at Old Chicago here in Fargo and they have a Black Jack table with a $1 buy in. Well I decides to give it is shot, I'm a Hold'em guy but I know how to play Black Jack, and walked out with $5. At one point I was up to $12 tipped the dealer $2 and then left but figured why not and had
huntfox hold one of the $5 chips that way I atleast left beating the house. So it was a fun night green beer, friends, pizza and some Black Jack. In other words the Cockroach struck again. (Nicknames from camp poker night but thats another journal) ^^
Edit Sunday night: tomorrow morning, Monday, I'm going to fo into the Apt head office and talk with them about it. I'll have my pics and the bill that I paid and see if we can get this all figured out. If not then we'll see where we take it from there if we so decide too.

My Truck Was Towed
Posted 13 years agoThis morning
huntfox woke up and looked outside of our apt and saw that my truck was missing. He asked me where I parked I told him where and he said that it was missing. I jumped up and took a look. I thought at first he was messing we me saying that it was but it was gone I quickly there some cloths on and ran outside. It turnes out that the our apartment company towed it because it was parked in a "fire lane".
Well this so called "fire lane" is NOT marked in any way shape or form, there us no messages or anything like that in our building or around it and the sidewalk continues to where my truck was parked.
It turned out that it was towed at about 930-10 on Thursday night. I didn't get a buzz or a phone call asking me to move my truck or if it was mine. If I would have gotten a buzz or a call asking if it was mine I would have said yes and moved it right away. Now for those that read this and say "well did the company know it was your truck?". The answer is YES they did know that it is mine. It is in their records of being mine and NO there is no assigned parking here.
So after paying $180 for the tow fee and the storage fee I came back and took some pics just in case the Apt Company decided to suddenly make it as soo. Hunt and myself are digging into city and State laws regarding posting and markings as such to designate the spot as a Fire Lane. And most likely will be receiving the money back in Small Claims Court with what we dig up if its needed to be marked as such.
So yeah in other news. About 2 weeks ago I was fired from the KIA dealership but got a job within 3 hrs at a Chevrolet, Nissan dealership. I also got a nice raise and a guaranteed spot in the new shop when it opens in a few months as a General Service Tech.
Umm yeah that's about it lol. Take care ^^

Serious Question about Sopa and Pipa
Posted 13 years agoWho here has read the entire bill? Because I have and I was completely unable to find the sentence about censoring the net. So if one of you could enlighten me as to the age number, section and sentence that would be very helpful.
What this bill does is it protects people such as artists from sights that take their work and post it as their own. It also gives them the power to seek legal action if the site happens to be based in another country.
Also look at it this way. If this one dose not pass some other one will. So either way one will be passed.
Also with FA being against this bill. How are you the artists covered for the international laws regarding this stuff?
In the long run its people that have no idea as to what they are talking about. Read and educate yourself before opening your mouth.

RIP Zion
Posted 13 years agoThis morning I got a text from my dad letting me know that my Golden Retrieved Zion had passed away last night. He was 13 but never acted like it. He acted as if he was still a pup.
I will surly miss him. One of out neighbors described him as "the happiest dogs I've ever meet" all of our neighbors like Zion he was in a way our neighborhood dog. He'd just wander around the lake and visit people, every now and then he'd get into trouble but not often.
He was my "Buddies" as is call him. He'd only come to me if anybody called him that he'd just lay there and look at them. He had a few names from my family such as Zi, Zi Guy, Buddies, Zion and old man.
In the summer he would wade into the lake and go "fishing" never caught one and I'm sure he'd have no idea what to do if he did.
When I picked him out of the litter of puppies he was the darkest and the noisest out of all of them. That was 13 years ago back in 1999. As he got older he got darker and them lighter as he got even older.
He had a few health problems as he got older. A stroke that weakened he back left leg but he never seemed to mind. A breathing problem that he over came and a few other small things.
He was my Buddies and I will surely miss him.
Have fun playing with Lady Zi. You two have been apart for a few years but no more. Go and terrorize the deer up there.
I love you and will miss you deeply Zi
If you want to ask questions go right ahead. Just please keep them appropriate I have many stories about him that I don't mind sharing.

Robin Hood New Year And End Of The World Ticker
Posted 13 years agoSo yeah happy New Year everybody. Hope you had fun with what ever you did to welcome it in. I was watching Robin Hood the Disney version. It was a good way to welcome it in.
Needless to say this past year for myself has had its UP's and Down's but over all 2011 wasn't all that bad.
From Huntfox and I HAPPY NEW YEAR *makes a crap ton of noise* drive safe and don't drink and drive. They are out there looking for it.
Latter y'all ^^
Ps It's the end of the world as we know it. Aka WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE IN DECEMBER lol joking. I don't believe that crap. It's just going to be like Y2K all over again.

KIA
Posted 13 years agoNo not as in Killed In Action bit as in the car manufacturer. And my job.
Now a lot of people think that they are just a huge pile of crap. Right?
Well to be honest they aren't. They are NOTHING like the KIA's of old.
If so I HIGHLY doubt that they would have the IIHS Top Picks for most of their cars. Plus if they were crap then how the hell did they manage to win 2 races in the Street Tuner (ST) class at the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC) and finish in the top 10 in all but 1 race. Oh also this is only their 2nd year racing in this event. Even when one of their very own drivers said this Nic Jönsson said “Second-year motorsports programs are not supposed to win championships, but Kia Motors and Kinetic Motorsports have been committed to being the best since we formed our partnership in late-2009. The Kia Forte Koups have been fantastic since getting off the truck at Daytona in January thanks to the tireless dedication of the team. We couldn’t be happier with the end result, and I have to thank Michael Galati whose skill and experience was invaluable in this championship run.”
So even tho I work for them and even tho I do like the styling and the engines and all that. Still think they are a great company and have some of the best cars out there. The handling is great, they are fast and have some of the best styling out there. Now those are my options but take this with you as of tonight. In Fargo, North Dakota the dealership I work for in 1 day SOLD 5 Optima's, 2 Sedona's, and a Soul today. Now if they were crap I don't see that happening and that was just today.
It was just something I wanted to mention. So next time think about what you say. A company such as KIA my just blow you away next time. Take a test drive Im sure they'll surprise you like they did with me.

huntfox so go and wish him a happy bday ^^

just a run of the mill update
Posted 14 years agoSo as many or at least those who have read my past few journals or tweets may know that at my current job I got a promotion there as well as a nice raise and a special little bonus. As in I am not the night manager of the quick lube after only about 6 weeks on the job. It did piss off a few people but oh well. I got a $1.25 bonus a hour so I'm at $8.50 now plus I get a extra check with the average RO (repair order) amount. It can very between $100 to almost a grand depending on A LOT of stuff.
Also this past week sucked one of our guys got fired for a complete bull shit reason and Jacob got fired as well as his brother. Jacob won't be missed all that much but the other guy will be (not the brother). But thankfully I have a friend in need of a job so here's hopping that hell get that one. We usually try to get people that the managers know. ^^
So yeah that's about it... Oh also I got new tyres for my truck and painted the rims. I might post a pic or two not sure yet.
So yeah I guess peace out yall,

Stuff
Posted 14 years agoI know that it seems like I've been bitching and moaning about my job recently but that's just because the people there make me all frustrated. I do truly like my job. Not so much my co-workers tho.
So sorry if it seems like I'm trying to get attention. I just sometimes need to rant to get my head clear and that way I can go on with work or my night. ^^

Work Update
Posted 14 years agoWell its been going great. I love it but hate it at the same time. Here's why.
On Thursday, I believe, one of our guys was jacking up a Jeep to do a tire rotation. Well as he was doing so it shifted and fell about 6 inches at max. No body was hurt and the Jeep was fine. But his first words were at me "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU MOVE IT FORWARD!?!?!?!?!?!?" Well I never touched it and nobody else was around it. It shifted because of where he was lifting it. Well he just couldn't accept that it was him who messed up and started to get all pissy at me and the others to the point that our shop manager told him "Why don't you shut the fuck up or quit", now mind you there are a few customers in the shop it is a quick lube, he says to Jim "Well I just might." He did mention somewhere in there that he had a 2x4 that he would use. I did mention that a reason that it may have shifted was because he was lifting it by the cradle I just don't remember when I said it.
Now the guy that can't accept that he dropped it is a senior in HS starting tomorrow. I am a fully trained technician so I think its because I'm the new buy with more training he thinks he can say it was my fault. But my manager saw that it wasn't me or anybody else in the shop so he is on my side ^^
So that was the first part to that day. Later that day or the next day, one of the two lol. I had a Chevy Diesel come in and I was working under hood. Well we check all of the fluids. That includes the transmission, washer fluid, coolant, brake, power steering. Well as I was checking the coolant the overflow tank decided to erupt on me. Thankfully I ALWAYS use a heavy rag to open it because there is always some pressure in it. As I was unscrewing it it was going easily like little to no pressure well suddenly it got pressure and forced my hand upwards letting hot coolant spray all over. The instance it happened I dropped my head down to avoid any burns to my face, it was hot, but I did burn my thumb a little. Luckily it was just a very minor burn but that was it. It made a mess but I had the only injury thankfully. We used it as a learning experience as to why you ALWAYS use a heavy rag to open it. Come to think of it it happened the same day because I even said jokingly, to my manager, see I know when to accept responsibility for my mistake.
But the guy that dropped the Jeep and one other guy almost always get into it even if it is something small. So on Friday my manager made both of them work the pit and OMG was it nice upstairs. There was like NO tension between the staff up there and it made the day FLY by.
So that was pretty much what all happened my first full week. It's still a fun job but some of my coworkers just plain suck making me hate the job. But I will stay with it because it is a field that I love working in.

New Job?!?!?!
Posted 14 years agoNot yet but I'm waiting on hearing back from an Insurance Company to see of the KIA Dealership that I've applied at will hire me. The nice thing is that I am getting the feeling that they will be. But it helps that I only have to marks on my license and they are just two speeding Tickets. One was I was late for a Dr. Appointment and the other was the officer picked me out of the line of traffic that I was going with the flow of. So nothing major like about 5-10 over at max.
I'm also waiting in hearing back from O'Rielly Auto Parts as well. But they had a few other applicants that they had to go through first. But again I'm getting a good feeling from them as well. Seeing as how I have gone to Auto Mechanic school and am able to be ASE Certified. Instead of Joe Blow just walking in from the street and applying for the same spot
So here's hopping with both parts. Plus if they need me ASAP there is a Campground close by and I have a nice and warm tent with a sleeping bag. ^^

Personality Test Deal

Well here are my results: (I was bored so I did it since everybody else is)
Calm
You rarely become irritated, generally accept people as they are, take things as they come, and feel relaxed in most situations.
You do not let a minor annoyance escalate to a confrontation. You don't regularly snap at those around you or fly off the handle with little provocation.
Assertive
You behave in a confident and forceful manner, take charge of the situation, raise your hand in class, stand up for what you think is right, and lead others. Among those who have a high score on the "assertive" trait, many have jobs in which they are valued for their organizational skills as well as their talent for supervising others.
You are not interested in fading into the woodwork, leaving everything to fate, taking more time than necessary to accomplish a task, or avoiding confrontation.
Upbeat
You enjoy being around others and others enjoy being around you. You have a "live and let live" attitude; because you know that no one's perfect, you are forgiving and happy to give the benefit of the doubt.
You don't feel the need to be controversial or express contrary opinions all the time. You see no reason to go around rubbing people the wrong way.
Organized
You like to think a task through before you embark on it. If it's the slightest bit complicated, you make a list (even if it's only in your mind) and methodically work your way through it. When you have a goal in mind, you're not satisfied until you reach it.
You are not one of those people who ignore the details, and you don't understand how anyone can get anything accomplished without thoughtful planning ahead of time.
Optimistic
You are a "glass half-full" kind of person, always on the lookout for the silver lining. Your happiness is contagious, which is why others like to be around you.
You do not feel that the world is an intrinsically depressing place; you are not the kind of "realist" who thinks that only fools find joy in life.
Aesthetic
You appreciate art, beauty, and design; you know that they are not superficial but absolutely crucial to living the good life. You have good taste, and you're proud of it. Those with a high score on the "aesthetic" trait are often employed in literary or artistic professions, enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about the arts, reading, and travel.
You don't think it's pretentious to be moved by art and beauty. You're not one of those who believe it doesn't matter what something looks like as long as it does its job.
Accessible
You're comfortable expressing yourself in words and actions, with no self-censorship. You believe that if someone doesn't like what they see it's not your problem, but theirs. A high score on the "accessible" trait suggests that you have a lot of friends, socialize often, and enjoy rap/hip-hop music.
You don't see the need to keep your thoughts to yourself, or to have a zone of privacy that encompasses only yourself and a small circle of friends and relatives.
Warm
You have a genuine interest in other people. You're a natural host, and are always thinking about how you can increase the happiness of those around you. When friends have problems or are in trouble, you're usually the first person they turn to for aid and comfort. Scoring high on the "warm" trait suggests that you are among those who enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't always say exactly what you're thinking; you don't like the idea of causing anyone pain because of your criticism.
Understanding
You are willing to take the time to find out what's going on with other people, especially if they're in distress. You're a good listener, you don't criticize, and you offer unbiased, respectful, honest advice when it's requested. With a high score on the "understanding" trait, it is likely that you are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't feel the need to impose your standards on others or say things that, even though true, cause pain.
Empathetic
You are in touch with your own feelings, which helps put you in touch with the feelings of others.
You don't buy the logic that your happiness comes ahead of everyone else's because unless you're happy you're incapable of making anyone else happy.

What I've been up to all these months
Posted 14 years agoOk so where to begin...... OH I know how about the fact that my computer is back up and running. *happy dances*
SO what happened with it is that my hard drive crashed... badly But thankfully one of my friends at camp was able to fix this thing.
I ordered a new hard drive and a day later it was here. The original one was a 250gig but this new one is a 500gig. The funny thing is that a new 250gig one on amazon is $45 and a a new 500gig is $50 so the choice was obvious.
What else.... Umm
Oh I got a set of new wheels. I FINALLY was able to snag my dads old pickup. Its a 97 Toyota Tacoma. Black with some burnt orange stripes. it does have 4WD (nice to have now since my Ranger did have that) and is an extended cab (better than the Rangers standard cab). It is a high mileage truck with 186,569miles on it but its nothing I cant fix if need be. I'll get some pics later of it. There is some small rust on it such as around the wheel wells and on the tailgate but that's to be expected. The funny thing is that since I was 16 when I got my license I have been trying to get my hands on this truck.
I do plan on doing some slight mods to it like
a 2 to 4 inch lift
Larger Tires and wheeles
new sound system
new bumpers (like the heavy duty ranch style ones)
MAYBE, and that's a big maybe, a snorkel
cold air intake
new grill
Ummm OH
Hunt and myself have been working at the Boy Scout Camp that I had worked at before meeting him.
He was the Assistant Medic and I was the Shooting Sports Director. So we were pretty high up on the list. He fixed who ever got hurt at the other areas. I say that because nobody at any of my 3 ranges got hurt. So that was a major plus for me. ^^ The guy that was in charge of the Archery area drove me quite crazy. I had herd the stories of him from last year ,2010, and was very worried about the program suffering this year. Some were so bad that I couldn't even believe that he was hired back this year. I did have a few adult leaders come up to me fairly pissed off because of him. Witch I could totally understand as to why after they told me what had happened.
Hunt had the pleasure to meet almost the entire Sperle clan on my dads side. Needless to say he was a little shell shocked afterwards. The first night myself, Hunt, brother and 2 of my cousins plus a boyfriend all went out to Zorbaz. Well my brother got wasted off his ass. He still does not remember from about 10PM until 10AM the following day. But man it was priceless. He was buying everybody shots and taking stupid bets (like normal on the bet side lol) But the best part was when we left. We had to help him to my truck and the first thing he does is jump in the box. Well Hunt said no to that and he agreed that it was going to be a bad idea if he was back there. So he climbs in my truck in the shotgun seat. I told him if he got sick in my truck he would be cleaning the entire truck but THANKFULLY he didn't get sick... well in the truck. As we're driving back to the house (about a 3 minuet drive) he sticks his hand out the widow and says "dude guys have you ever done this before its fucking awesome" as hes moving his hand up and down. We are at this point all dieing of laughter. We get him home and then a few of my younger cousins take care of him. We were told later the following day that he was loud as sin and that they were telling him to be quiet but nobody was woken up by him. He got sick a few time but made it to the bathroom or outside in time. So yeah that's a family reunion to remember.
Well I think that's all that there is right now. *shrugs* If not oh well I'll just have to post another journal later.
Have a good one everybody,
