Ramblings...
Posted 2 weeks agoMy cats often come to me to be fed, showered with affection, or groomed throughout any given day.
Grover has frequent eye boogers, which I clean when they occur.
One night in particular, I did it without thinking.
Forgetting that I had eaten a rather non-insignifcant amount of spicy buffalo wings earlier that evening.
I can now claim to know all of the feline words for "asshole" and "idiot."

Broken glass, nothing appears to have been stolen. Makes me wonder why they even bothered.
Like I need this kind of crap right now.

My weight still hovers around 180 lbs, and my A1C is 5.6.
Trying to size up everything between now and the end of the year. And then what '26 will hold.

Posted 2 months ago"The men who wanted to be left alone...."
Posted 2 months ago“The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of men who wanted to be left alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over.
The moment the men who wanted to be left alone are forced to fight back, it is a form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be. Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these men who wanted to be left alone, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror. TRUE TERROR will arrive at these people’s door, and they will cry, scream and beg for mercy… but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the men who just wanted to be left alone.”

And I am even more disgusted by the so called celebration I am seeing occur in several corners of the internet, especially some particular furry related sites.
If you are one of these smiling degenerates, shame on you! I hope that when your time comes, it transpires in such a way that your very last sensations will to be to hear the cheering over your own demise while you choke on the thoughts of how empty your existence was.
Leave your corrupted echo chambers, go touch some grass, and take a long hard look in the mirror. You can still save yourself from the depths you are currently occupying.

Battletech Gothic

After reading this, I am not sure if this is an early April Fool's prank or Catalyst Labs just wanted to jump the shark once again because they have no idea what to do with their IPs anymore.
The main concept is this is to be alternative universe to the original BT story line reimagined with the original battlemechs and new "abominations" geneticallly engineered creatures that form a new threat on the tabletop. The name "Gothic" reveals that this is an attempt to try to cash in on Warhammer 40k and Trench Crusade.
Personally, I am not feeling it. I used to be a fan of BT, and Battletech was my gateway game during high school. The mechs look nice, but I see it contrasting way too much with the "hard sci-fi" themes of the original setting. This not only seems to be another cash grab after a few poorly run kickstarter campaigns, but another display that none of the IP owners know what to do with what was once a popular franchise.
And looking at the artwork, I am curious as to how they are going to handle any miniatures that are to be released for the line. GW had enough trouble with their product lines over the years, but to have five different faction versions of each giant robot seems to be an impossible task for what was once a rather simple collection of figures. And I can not envision any FLGS being able to carry even half the possible range.
Overall, seems odd to be attempting something this "new" for such an old franchise.
It is obvious that a lot of work went into this, but again the presence of what is basically kajiu in a mecha heavy setting that greatly avoided even having aliens in their setting seems to be a rather cringe inducing move.
I don't have high hopes for this, and it pains me to see what was a favorite game setting be reduced to its current state.

Annoying news: my weight shot up by 9 pounds, and so has my glucose levels. Very frustrating.

New phone
Posted 8 months agoSo I replaced my phone, it only cost me a pound of flesh. But at least I am still connected.
Numbers haven't changed, so anyone who talked to me in the past should still be able to.

Tech support question: Cell phone problems
Posted 8 months agoSo I got a problem:
My Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 has not been able to produce sound from the internal speaker for a while now. Been getting by with blue tooth accessories, etc.
Today, it started to not transmit sound through blue tooth, and video is "slide showing" as if it is downloading on a extremely slow connection.
Tried the usual rebooting, turning on/off blue tooth, check settings, etc.
Turn off blue tooth, the video plays fine, but no sound from phone as stated was happening before this started.
Turn blue tooth back on, and it starts buffering again, and still no sound. Not even a crackle of noise.
Tried other blue tooth accessories from my ear buds, car stereo, and a few others. No difference.
Now I am afraid that my last shot at anything is a full factory reset, to which I am not at all happy about doing.
And no, I can not afford a new phone at this time. This one has served me rather well, and I really do not want to replace it if I can help it.
***Update: Did the factory reset. No change. Will be out of pocket for a while.

State of the Wolf
Posted 9 months agoBeen quiet as of late as the chaos of the holidays and weather slowly sorts itself out.
Saw the doctor this week. He seems pleased with my progress on the diabetes front, A1C did rise to 5.6 from 5.5 which is still regarded as being "good."
Weight is floating about 180 lbs, which is frustrating as I am still 10 pounds away from my goal.
On the project front I am currently trying to focus on one particular endeavor over all others. Not ready to discuss it yet, but will reveal more when the time is right.
Haven't painted any figures in a while, kind of in a rut with that. GW's antics in constantly trying to balance the rules, and the ever looming threat of the legends hammer striking more first born marine units still has me concerned about wasting my time on painting. Am close to swallowing my pride and simply going full primaris, but I still have some love for my old favorites. Also, my OCD is bothering me in keeping in line with the themes of my current army. I want things to be at least somewhat "uniform," but I am now regretting some of my past choices. Things like some modifications conflict with certain features, which leads to only more annoying distractions. Leading to just giving up on the whole thing until the modeling bug comes back to bite me all over again.
I want to write again, but depression keeps killing my mood.
