Basically yeah. Might as well make it official here--I hereby eschew any label such as furry, fur, furry fan, scaly, etc. I quit furrydom.

I've always been something of a philosopher and social thinker. And I won't deny this has been an interesting experience. But ultimately, looking at all the sides of the issue, seeing all the kinds of people who congregate in this community, my interests lie elsewhere. Obviously there are some cool people here, and I wish them the best. But by and large, the furry "fandom," as it were, has one of the most narrowminded collections of people I've ever encountered. Not to mention the number of frighteningly unstable people that seem to be a dime a dozen around here. And there's a couple serious issues with stuff that's gone down in this arena of madness that I can't even begin to know how to deal with.

Without putting too fine a point on it, the best thing about furries is that they're largely spyware-free.

And that's just not enough.

Yes, the drawings can be fun sometimes. The bestiality that tends to follow, not so much. And I'm lost when I find myself in gay territory; somehow the large percentage of that class of stuff which tends to turn male furries at least bi has done nothing but strengthen my belief in my own heterosexuality, somehow, which is apparently not a common thing around here. It's certainly been through no conscious effort on my part. That's just how it went down, I guess. But many of the furries around me haven't been able to accept that.

I'm off topic again. And sounding far more serious than I intended to. Honestly my basic position on the whole thing at this point is "lol, furries." Not terribly original, but oh so true. Now, all this might sound like it's inexorably leading to a farewell, but it's not.

I'm not leaving.

Why? A few reasons. There's still a few people around here I'm on good terms with, and one or two who are playing beef chicken with me I wouldn't mind talking to again. And finally, I like money.

And it's true, I've reached a point where there's a number of really nice things I'd like to buy, with money. And furries tend to give people money to draw pictures for them. I'm no master artist, but if I charged $20 for the occasional commission I'd have that much extra to spend on luxury items.

So where do I go from here? For now I'll see about getting a paypal account, try and hone my techniques, and wait and see what y'all have got to say.
