Ok everyone, I know youve all been wondering what the deal behind this meet is so...BAM! The meet is scheduled for the 18th of september, and we will meet at Noon time at the Elm Street Park in Bethesda, MD. This first meet will give us all a chance to connect and get to know each other and have some fun. From the park we were thinking of hitting up Stromboli's Italian Restaurant and ofcourse there will be noms at the park as well, and drinkage and...HOOKAH! So yes I got to thinking, which can be lethal, and me and some good friend were like "Hey! Why not start a furry group for this area?" Because apparently though maryland does have its own fur-frat, this area doesnt really have any "meets" or "events" despite the number of furs both known and unknown living in the area. Wassup peeps! For those of you wondering about me and how Im doing, Im doing ok just trying to get my ducks in a row. Im days away from graduating hospital corps school and i got alot a stuff to do here soon. Gotta go on 2 weeks vaca, then move to my next duty station in bethesda, maryland and somehow acuire an affordable house without going farther in debt and then worry about stuff like internet services and the like so....yeah, lol. Well folks, 2009 has come and gone. Its been a wild and messy ride but its time to start anew. This past year some would say was a year of change...indeed it was. Whether it was for the better or the worse Ill leave to you but now a new chapter begins. We now look to this new year of 2010 and hope for a better and brighter future. But the only way we can have a brighter future is if we decide to make it so. As a very wise man once said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." -Mohandas Gandhi. As for my resolution....well I dont really have one...but I do have a prayer. And that prayer is that this year will be a year of betterment not just for myself, but for everyone. America, and indeed the whole world, is in desperate need of something to believe in, something with promise, faith, and substance. For those of you who know God and his promises, I hope you share my prayer...but even for those who do not believe I can only hope that if nothing else you will strive to find within yourselves a greater compassion. A sense of humility and humanity that we are all born with, but seem to loose somewhere along the way. We live in a world where Politics and Big business are running the show, and its easy to leave our sense of love and understanding under the doormat. Last year, I did some things that Im not proud of, selfish and inconsiderate things. I broke someones heart, and now I fear I may have all but disolved any hope of a friendship with that person. Now I must live with that, forgiven or not, and Im regretting it and will continue to regret it for the rest of my days. But now its a new year and it is the time to try and start over. Time to start a new journey, to write a new chapter, to mend an old hurt, to kindle a new love, and look out into the sunrise with a new resolve. Ok, finally back from visiting the grandfolks in virginia. It was nice to get away and relax alittle and enjoy the icy snowy weather, but now its new years and I got a shit-ton of stuff to do. I went to the local 1-screen theatre down the road and decided to see The Fantastic Mr. Fox. It was cute, funny and even alittle emotional and all around pretty good and quite worth a watch. It was one of those movies that can bring out the kid in the adult and the adult in the kid. Would I ever go see it again? Sure, why not. I would have to rate this movie a 3/5 in the grand scheme of movies but a 4/5 within its genre.
