Posted 2 years agoI didn't plan on putting up commissions here, but I think I'll do okay. I got some feedback from friends, and I feel confident enough to open some comms!
I haven't done proper commissions in years, so please bear with me if things are at all confusing. I'll provide some info below.

Collaboration Work
I can assist with digital art work. If you need my help, lemme know! As long as we, or more artists, work together, I'll probably stay with you!
Art Trades
Anyone can ask for an art trade as long as there is dedicated work to the trade. Failure to do so, may result in me cancelling and or blacklisting you.
I'm open to any trade, but here's what I usually do.
1. A shaded full body for a shaded full body
2. Something we both agree on to be equal
200 Watchers!
Posted 2 years ago Thank you for 200 Watchers!!!
Thank you all for deciding to watch me. I know I'm a little late to announce it, but I've been busy (mostly doing arts) lately. I seriously cannot thank you all enough~
I know I'm a little slow, but I promise I'll hold a raffle for this celebration in time. Currently I'm piled with ychs, art fight, and a gigantic redraw project I'm struggling to get myself to complete. But, I'm sure I'll get through all of it <3
Team Vampires!!
Posted 2 years agoI've officially joined the Vampire team over on Art Fight!
Go Team, Vampire!! We can do this!
(Oh, and, I probably won't be doing friendly fire unless it's a close friend)

Art Fight 2023
Posted 2 years agoBrief Update)
Hiya, everyone. I haven't made a journal in a long while. I apologize if I've been a tad slow as of recently. There's been lots happening! I've been trying to get myself a schedule, and much more.
Like last year, I'm gonna be attending Art Fight!! Or, well, trying my hardest to. I've got some commissions still in need of doing and a huge redraw project I've been kinda struggling with when it comes to motivation. But, I promise, I'll be there for art fight.
I haven't picked a team officially, but I know what I'll probably be picking (Vampires). I'm also updating my profile, and will be all throughout this week probably, but everything should be updated enough in case anyone wants to bookmark early!
Thanks for reading this (potentially boring) journal! Here's my profile - https://artfight.net/~SpookaSpino2
Happy Pride Month, and happy Art Fighting later on!!

Comics (priced per panel): Prices Vary

Example:
Style: Flat Color ($30) > Panel Cost - $8 if there is a fullbody (Round to nearest dollar)
Example:

Reference Sheets: Prices Vary
I can do it in any style, but flat color is preferred. (It helps artists) Shading may help if a character has iridescence. I will make references off of just text descriptions too. Refs will probably be cheaper than some other items.
Want a simplified ref for animators to use? They're free if you request them with your main ref.
Examples:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45861698/
(This size would roughly cost $110)
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47704346/
(This size would roughly cost $62)

Animation
Animation has always been a bit different, so this will have different rules than other types of art. I'm still learning animation, so I may have some struggles!
Character complexity will come into effect. If I'm not sure I can animate them, I'll have to unfortunately decline them. (I'm not as experienced as some other animators)
Animation takes a lot of love and time, so prices may be more expensive.
Animation is hard to price, so I'll have to determine each separately.

Seeking Artist Tips/Support
Posted 3 years agoOkay, I've been drawing for about 6 years now almost every day. I've done hundreds of drawings. And, I still haven't the clue as to how to shade. You may say that I do, but when I go into shading, I legit have no idea what I'm doing. I tend to switch up my process every single time.
I do mainly digital, but I do occasionally draw traditionally. The tips I'm looking for are probably for digital pieces. I've practiced some still life (drawing from what I see in front of me), and it's the only thing I feel confident with when it comes to lighting. Otherwise, I end up trying to shade the smaller shadows/highlight, then going onto the darkest/brightest part of the pieces. It works, but I always want to just quickly add the other highlights, and I worry by doing that, I'll mess up the entirety of the shading. Since, sometimes my shadows don't always line up on one place compared to another.
Another strategy I saw was to do everything in black and white first. And while I like that, I always never know if when I add color it'll pop. Like, I feel like the shadows may be too black. I've done it once, and I'm attempting it again on my October project. I just hope I know what I'm doing.
All in all, I'm just wondering how you or other artists do shading. I don't mind tips for cel shading, but I mainly go for more in-depth lighting.
If you made it this far, thank you for reading my big jumble of words.

Art Fight
Posted 3 years agoGo Team Bloom!
I just got into art fight this year, and I've contemplated whether I should put that here or not. I'm not a fast artist whatsoever, and I always want to return art to those who attack. So, that's why I've been holding off. I probably won't feature this journal, but if you want to check out my profile on art fight-

An Honest Question
Posted 3 years agoI've contemplated for the longest time on what the perfect prices would be for commissions, and I'm honestly stuck. I need help if anyone wouldn't mind helping.
First of all, commissions are a bit tricky to do as there are some personal issues I still haven't figured out. So, they've been closed for a long long time. I've only opened twice, and I felt that they were either too much or too little then.
Here's what I generally think about when it comes to art...
Quality and.. Time.
And, I much more prefer quality over quantity. Even though my fastest commission type are Doodles, standing at roughly 3 hours each. Other pieces, like lineless pieces can take me up to 30 hours.
Plus, I try not to burn myself out and provide sloppy work. Many breaks are needed.
I'm.. unfortunately not a fast artist. So, should that bump up prices? So far, I'm freelance with no outside job.
I try for the bestest of quality, as in, I take a lot of time nit picking at the smallest details no one will probably ever see. Plus, I can take outside time to study certain things for a big piece. Should that raise the price?
Unfortunately, I cannot offer 4K pieces as much as a I want. It's an issue with software. So, Should that lower the price?
I recently dropped my prices just because of that fact.
-
That's about all. I thank you if you read this far. I'm unsure of what my prices should be still. I base them all off of full body illustrations, so.. a typical shaded full body sits around $45 usd. And, the one I'm working on for art fight has taken me almost 7 hours. (It's not done)
Most recent shaded piece: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47612566/
So, should I raise my prices, keep them, or lower them?

Requests, Art Trades, Collabs, Commissions, etc.
Posted 3 years agoI know I get questions often asked about what I am open and closed on, and many other details. I know not everyone will see this journal, but it will have some information regarding anything in the title.
Updated on October 14th, 2023.
Requests:
I do occasionally do and take requests! I am currently not accepting requests. Though, this isn't something common. I only do requests for some reasons. But, my biggest reason for doing them is to show I'm still around for friends or the community, and I do not mind to offer occasionally. I don't do commissions often which is why I do requests.
You may ask for requests whenever via notes or discord, but my answer may not always be yes. Maybe I'll announce when I'm open to these so it's easier.
Art Trades:
Art Trades are currently closed. Though, I may not accept all. I will occasionally do one from time to time. If you're interested, send a note and we can go from there. I will take any skill level. As long as you try, I will be content.
I will give you whatever you give me. For example, if you absolutely want to offer a shaded piece, I will offer one back!
Though, I'm up for negotiating if there's something else that's wanted.
Collabs:
Collaborations are currently closed. If you're wanting to collaborate on something, send me a note/message and maybe I'll think about accepting! I can sadly only collaborate on digital art though.
(Like with the art trades info, I do not and will not mind skill level. All that matters to me is cooperation and dedication)
Commissions:
At this current time, I am not taking comms. I apologize since I know many want to offer support (I thank those of you so so much). If you want art from me, maybe the other options will be open?
I rarely open commissions, and if I do, there are few slots.
All in all, if there are any questions out there, send me a note or message. I do not mind them.

If I Use Scraps..
Posted 3 years agoI just wanted to say that if I ever use my scraps, it's for projects that never got finished. I know I have many random sketches
in my gallery and folders (Specifically the miscellaneous stuff folder) that may look like wips or scraps, but these were probably never intended to be worked on further. So, anything in scraps will most likely be art that was intended to be done but sadly never got there.. for, usually, many reasons.

My Writings
Posted 3 years agoI was hoping to put some of my writings here to showcase some of my characters' backstories and etc. But, until I can properly figure out how to format some stuff on this site, I will refrain. So, I apologize to those who may have been interested.
Disclaimer Regarding my Art
Posted 3 years agoI'm trying to upload drawings daily, but I will say that I'm not making these that fast. No, no, I'm just posting art I've done over time.. which equates to a lot over 5 years. I don't know how far back I'll go with my art. I might stop posting when I reach 2019 art. From then, I'll just post pieces I've enjoyed.
But, I ain't a fast artist. I'm not. Majority of my art can be quick drawings, but I do go for bigger projects and they can take up to 30 hours nowadays.. So, if I don't seem as active after posting up to my 2019 art, it's not because I just.. disappeared. I'm simply just devoting time to my next project.

Additional info?
Posted 3 years agoI joined this as I was requested to by my bf. I love the work here, I do. I enjoy animals much more than people art. I do not know why that is... maybe they're just drawn a lot or I suck at fashion, making them look good, etc.
Now, I don't know if I consider myself a furry/scalie because of the name of this website. Making that decision is hard.
Anywho, this is kind of a addition I decided making.
