Don't take art trades if you don't plan on fucking finishing it, even when shit goes bad I get all of my pieces done. And if I where ever to decide to remove my art cos I couldn't "handle" shit I'd atleast let the artist know so they wouldn't waste their time starting the trade piece.
Fuck my dad died, I'm 8 months pregnant, I've been in and out of the hospital because I keep going into early labor, and I'm still finishing my commissions and trades. I'm going to have so many lovely uploads when I can get my life to slow down for a minute.

I'm just really fed up with people anymore. After these trades I'm never taking any more again.

There are several things that I need help with if anyone would like to help.

First to cover my dad's cremation we had to pay $1,900, we've still got $1,200 left to pay, as well we're trying to raise money for his memorial service, my dad had a lot of friends, he was a big part of so many peoples lives. So we're trying to rent a portion of a park so we can have a cookout, bands be able to play, a big party. Because that's what he wanted. And we couldn't afford a regular funeral which would have been upwards of $4,000-5,000 (I never really had to think about how important life insurance is til now)
I can't do much to compensate for any donations, but if you email me a ref of your character I'll do something special for you.

He does amazing work.

I have people waiting, not that many I've been doing really good at getting things out rather quickly, but I know I have some people still waiting for their trades and commissions. They are all inked, some colored, ect.

This is even hard to write, I don't handle well at all with situations like this, and I've never really dealt with one so close to me before. My dad has been fighting metastatic melanoma, and when I say that, I really don't mean fighting, more like kicking it's ass. Until he had his third chemo treatment on the tumor in his brain, he had really bad nausea, and instead of any hospital actually doing their damn jobs and getting him nutrition and fluids, they kept repeatedly sending him home. For 4 weeks my dad wasn't able to eat anything, he went downhill so fast and so quickly, I just...can't even believe it.
He passed away yesterday morning.
I had some issues with my dad for not being there the first 12 years of my life, but he really was one of my best friends, and pretty much the most important parent to me, besides my grandma. I never thought I would lose him, and especially not this fast.
I've been an absolute wreck, trying to keep myself distressed as I am 8 months pregnant, but it's pretty hard right now.

So I'm taking a Hiatus, I've got so much to do with planning his memorial, and trying to raise the $1,900 we need to have him cremated.
I'll have everyones art done when I have the spare time. But I promise all owed artwork will be done before the second week of June.

In the country, that's pretty bad. You can kind of feel it though, southern Indiana as a whole is pretty miserable.
I've been noticing a lot lately I get drug into peoples misery, mostly with my family and friends.
It's an awful lot to handle when you're pregnant.
It also makes me extremely introverted. To the point when one of my friends from Chicago came and visited me I almost didn't know how to respond to her being kind and supportive. It's just been so long since I had anyone other than my boyfriend be kind to me.
Irl anyway.
I really want to get away from these people and can't, I'm pretty sure we're going to move to Chicago when our lease is up, and maybe buy our first house. Maybe I'll be able to actually get an apprenticeship at a tattoo parlor (instead of getting turned down because the other female in the shop is intimidated by me)
It'd be really nice, if I can just stay happy and sane long enough for it.
I never should have moved back to Indiana.

I'll be uploading trades and commissions later today, but in the mean time I was curious to see what people think are fair prices for traditional artworks?

I have to up my prices, as prices on the markers, colored pencils, and paper have gone up. As well shipping prices have increased.

Ontop of that I know my artistic skill has drastically increased in the past two years.

Right now though I am putting more money into my art than I'm making, so what are fair prices for Traditional Art?

Currently I'm paying between $4-8 per marker ( I use prisma premier, copic sketch, and letresets promarkers when I find them)

$5-10 per ink pen ( I use copic multi-liners and pigma microns)

$8-15 for Bristol smooth paper (price varies on amount of sheets)

$30 for derwent 12 piece ink pencils, $20-30 for Faber castell water color pencils, and I think $1 a piece for each prisma colored pencils. (which I don't have to replace as often as my markers)
