Long time no see
Posted 10 years agoSo going to give an update of my life:
I work two jobs!
I work at an Avian vet called For the Birds part time and I'm also an Admin for Twitch! This has cut my crafting time to almost zero, I've been rather low on the creative juice for a while. This next week my parent's will be out of town so I'll be able to work whenever I want to, going to be streaming some sewing! If you want to watch follow Twitch.tv/Aeo and if you want to be aware of when I go live I will always tweet it out here: twitter.com/aeogamer
Will probably be a mix of slugcats and other small stuff like the Halloween puffs I just posted.

Streaming sewing on twitch!
Posted 11 years agoHey guys! Doing some test streams but starting in July I'll be streaming over at http://www.twitch.tv/aeogamer because I have 50 plushies for the Rain World kickstarter to make! Since it is game related it isn't against twitch TOS. After I finish the Rain World slugcats I might stream sewing Binding of Isaac plushies, Meatboy plushies and more!

Posted 11 years agoJust want to thank everyone who purchases my original designs and doesn't ask me to make 'fan' plushies of copyrighted designs.
I've been told many many times by people, customers, fellow textile artists, even close friends that I cannot get by or become successful without making something that's 'popular' like my little pony, pokemon, etc. Last year around this time I decided to make Poro's, since they were fairly easy to make, designing their pattern was simple and there was a high demand for them... yet only a few etsy crafters sold them.
They varied in price and quality and I found a niche in between. Now there are many many sellers that make Poros and it is time I retire the pattern. (I might make more Poro's in the future but they will not be made-to-order or custom, I will make them only if I want to for the fun of it and not for the money.) Poro sales really helped get me through the second half of last year and I am grateful, but I will no longer steal their design on demand of the customer or the easy money.
I have found success selling all my original designs in tails and plushies and I hope it will continue to grow and that you all (and future owners) will continue to support me.

Posted 11 years agoHoly hell Fanime is in 1 week. I wish I could post a pic of where I am in the artist alley but of course, Fanime is LATE putting everything up the last 2 years so there is no map.
... but I'm table 102 at least I know that. I really hope they heeded my seating requests. We'll see. I still have 6 items to finish and ship before Fanime starts -_- 3 tails and 3 plushies, everything was cut out and prepped for sewing today, so massive sewing day tomorrow.

Posted 11 years agothe weather was so nice this month... and then the weekend of BLFC comes and it shits a crap ton of snow on the pass I have to take to Reno for BLFC. My boyfriend's car only has 2 wheel drive and no clearance for chains and he has no XP driving in snow. Safest bet was to cancel the con.
I'm super bummed, but better to be safe than sorry.

Do you know that every pattern was created by me? I don't use preexisting patterns or patterns that I did not create myself.
My plushies do not come from a factory. Every single one is created on my mother's kitchen table. Minimum wage does not apply to what I do. If it did, I would have to charge twice as much!
Where do my supplies come from? I scour the internet searching for the highest quality... and who pays for those supplies? Why, of course, I do.
I am a one girl show... and I deserve to be rightly paid for my work. Handmade is not cheap, but then again, the quality is way better any plushie you will find in stores.
