anyway... Thoughts about the zoo!: It was my first time ever visiting the Memphis zoo, despite living just a few hours away. And I really want to go back. They had tons of exhibits. Most looked well maintained and designed with great sight lines for the viewers. I also liked that almost every exhibit had a zoo keeper chat time on display, so if you wanted to watch a feeding or talk to someone about the animals, you had an idea of when you should be there and plan your trip around the park.

My specific experience of the day was a bit rough, thanks to the weather. Forecast said it would be in the 70s all day, with a 30% chance of rain. But it rained the entire time I was there. Messed with the camera a bit. Had a take a couple breaks to dry off the gear, but that's not the zoo's fault. Also didn't have enough time to see the about a quarter of the exhibits that day. But I'll just have to plan to go again when the weather heats back up.

As a heads up, I'm going to be posting more often. I'm tired of taking pictures that I like, showing to a couple close friends, then never posting them because i don't wanna bother anyone. That's stupid. Here's some pictures!

I was given a free ticket to the zoo so I packed up my camera on a perfectly overcast summer day to go visit the animals and practice taking some pictures.

8 hours of walking and 400 pictures taken later, I came home sore from walking (and running from an end-of-day thunderstorm) and got to editing. The results being ~50 pictures that I thought were good! So heads up on the slow drip of pictures from the next couple weeks as I slowly upload these. If you see any suggestions to make things better, please give advice!

I forgot how much fun it is to walk around the zoo. Last time I went was 4 years ago. This visit I took my time, knew I'd be there all day, and spent time to just watch the animals. It made for a great day off work. Go visit your local zoo.

I'm getting back into it! My goal is to take at least one photo a week I feel is worth posting. Hopefully more, but at least one.

...and post more art...
...and use my camera more...
...and stop just being all-around lazy.

Well, I've done it. I finally brought myself to jump from my old, oddly named account:  videogamer1217 , to this one; where the name is equally odd, but now without numbers.

I'm keeping all my old pictures over there, and checking it every so often. Thanks for those who followed me over from the old account! Lets have a great time now!
