Farewell to Commissions...
General | Posted 5 years agoI have given this a lot of thought over the past few months, and I've decided that I need to quit taking commissions. You guys have been awesome and I'm flattered in every sense that so many people wanted artwork from me, but I need a change in my life.
I've been taking commissions for the past 22 years (without a break for at least the past 10) and I am, firstly, completely burnt out. I can't focus, I have no enthusiasm for the work, and projects have taken longer and longer these past few years. I took them largely because I needed the income, but the economic relief we've been given this year allows me a little financial wiggle room while I consider how to fill the money gap. I didn't even have a weekend previously...every minute I wasn't at work or doing chores and errands I had to spend on commissions and the longer each one took, the more desperate the need to work on them felt. (The comics I've just posted took 7 months to make, not even joking). This year my family has needed me more than usual too, and that is taking more time from the week.
I've also been dealing with boughts of depression more so than before and a lot of that can be attributed to transgender issues. As a kid I would entertain fantasies through drawings and that would be therapeutic for me, as I know it is for a lot of you. But no time for my own work means that outlet is absent and I think I needed it more than I realized. I did try to squeeze in a pic or two for myself once in a while, but it just made the commission work fall behind even more and I never did enjoy it. I'm not the kind of person who can put off a project someone paid me for and not have it weigh on me.
So, the two comics I've just posted will be the last for this account for quite some time, and my sincere thanks to the folks that bought these from me, and all the others before. I am extremely grateful to all of you for your patronage, I could not have made ends meet otherwise. I am not disappearing from the fandom or FA, but my focus now will be on
TannoRadon , my personal account. I do plan to keep drawing for myself (I kind of need to) and maybe some of you will enjoy what I post there, though the subjects may be quite different. And I won't say that I'll never, ever take commissions again, I do suppose I will some day, but in a more regimented way. But right now I'm not considering the when or how...if it happens, it happens. I'm a huge fan of furries and fantasy and I have no interest in severing my ties with this community.
You'll notice I've disabled comments, please don't approach me with suggestions on how I could keep doing commissions or Patreon or anything like that. I assure you I've considered other avenues and this is what I've decided is best. If you want to chat or have any questions, though, feel free to note me on
TannoRadon ; I may not be online every day but I'm happy to engage in casual conversation.
My apologies to anyone who wanted a commission but never got one, I did my best to get to everyone I could.
Thanks for reading,
Tanno "Duo" Radon

Commissions Closed
General | Posted 5 years agoThank you very much for everyone interested in a commission! I didn't expect much of a response due to the way the economy is going right now. I don't have a waiting list, the last time I took one it took me 3 years to get through it and by the time people had been waiting a year, they forgot they were even on it. I suppose next time I'll space out the comment slots to improve the randomness, or just randomly pick a few from said comment list. I've gotten lots of suggestions, I'll see what can be done.
In the meantime, my rules and prices can be found here: http://duoradon.com/main/commission.....comstatus.html
And here were some key points I'd described in the last posting:
**If you decide to request Mature Content (nudity and/or sexual themes) from me, you certify that you are at least 18 years of age. You also understand that you must provide a photo ID the first time you commission Mature Content.**
A reminder about payments:
Please remember that all payments are 100% non-refundable, no matter the excuse. These are very difficult times, for me as well, so if the money you would spend on a commission would make a difference in your financial survival, please don't sign up for anything now. You're paying for a custom item made specifically for you, as well as the time it takes me to make it, and you can't return either of those things. Please don't come to me with "Something came up, I really need that money back"; I cannot give you a refund.
Changes to my Adult Artwork terms of service:
1) I am no longer using the paper consent form. I don't have the software to make that practical anymore. In it's place I'll have a disclaimer in the journal opening that states anyone buying an adult commission must be at least 18 years old.
I am still requiring a photo or scan of your driver's license or legal ID the first time you get adult material from me. Online, anyone can be anything and I need some kind of proof that you're old enough for me to be giving you this kind of art.
2) From now on, all fan art commissions will have to be SFW. I used to take them on a case-by-case basis but it's too much trouble to explain to folks why some characters are ok for adult material and others aren't. A lot of it had to do with my own comfort level rather than anything legal. I don't get many of those anyway, this just makes it simpler.
If you have an OC that exists in a fan universe, that will still go on a case-by-case. In general, if your OC looks a lot like a character from the movie/show/book/comic/etc., I'll probably pass on adult stuff.

Would anyone want new donation art?
General | Posted 6 years agoSo long story short, I have $1500 on my credit card that I really need to get paid off. Been trying for a few years now, had a plan but it fell through /which sucks/. I was tossing around the idea of making new donation comics (1 new page each month for $10-$15 via PayPal, not available to view in galleries) but I'm open to suggestions. What kind of content would you guys be willing to spend money on? Adult material could be an option, too. Or maybe some other type of thing I'm not thinking of. Thoughts?
Happy 2020!
General | Posted 6 years agoHappy New Year!
My apologies to those waiting for a commission from me, December is always a busy month and I'm way behind. With family gatherings, extra chores, 2 weeks of illness, gifts I had to make, working second shift and a bunch of to-dos that I had been putting off for too long, I got very little commission work done this past month. I'm looking forward to a blessed return to normalcy now (even though there's a few hiccups coming in January) and I'm going to try to get your pieces done as soon as possible.
As far as new openings are concerned, I have no idea at this point. I'm not anywhere close to done with the orders I have so it's going to be a minute.
Thanks for hanging around, hope you have good things coming your way this year!

OLD DONATION ART
[For those who don't know: I tried to make a living on art alone a while back, it didn't go too well. I was desperate for money and asking for monthly donations and in exchange, I drew up an exclusive pic or comic set as a thank you for contributors. Kinda like Patreon before Patreon was a thing. I haven't done donation art in a long time and I hope I won't have to start it up again.]
Recently a few people have asked me if the old donation art was still available to buy, and yes, it is. I don't plan on offering it forever mostly because I don't want to lock myself in on a promise like that when who knows what will happen years from now. But for now, they're still here. If you're interested, I've put the list up in my scraps: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32781871/ If you have any questions, please read that info first before commenting.
Here's a sample collage so you get an idea what I'm talking about: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32781889/
I've also heard from a few people that they've tried to contact me through an old e-mail address that I don't have anymore, duoradon@sbcglobal.net. It's super confusing to me since I had updated duoradon.com (which is gone now) with my hotmail ages ago, so I don't know how anyone is still seeing the old address. PLEASE please don't send payments or messages to the sbcglobal address, you won't reach me there.
So, if you'd like to buy any of the artwork listed above, please contact me before you send any money. I can be reached at duoradon at hotmail dot com. I'll need you to tell me which pics you want and where I can send them. These are fairly old pics, 2006-2012, and they are JPEGs. I'm not planning to revamp them into great big PNGs and they won't be posted in my galleries; they are what they are.

Dragon Portrait Commissions Open Now!
General | Posted 6 years agoIf you’d like a slot, please post a comment below. I will take the first 4 interested people.
Details:
I will have 4 portrait commission slots available on Saturday, October 5th at around 7 p.m. eastern.
I've been itching to do some dragon art lately and this set of slots is restricted to dragon characters only! These commissions are YCH of sorts. The pose is up to you, they will be rendered on this backdrop: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/33290865/
-Full color
-Mature content is OK, but if you've never gotten adult stuff from me before, you must submit ID and form: http://duoradon.com/main/commissions/rules.html
-You may choose either a single character or a couple (2 dragons together in the same picture) One character: $70 / Two characters: $80
-All characters must be obviously identifiable as a dragon, not an animal species with a few dragon features (such as a wolf with horns, etc)
-Any type of dragon is acceptable, can be bipedal or feral
-If your character is exceptionally detailed, price will be raised accordingly (like if your guy has 8 heads or wears chain mail or some such)
-One or two simple accessories are allowed (a sword, a sandwich, etc)
-No changes, additions or substitutions
I will post a new journal here on Saturday and take the first 4 people to post a comment on that journal, assuming there are 4 interested participants. Description and full payment are due no later than October 15th, 2019. After you claim a slot, I'll contact you by note with further instructions.

*A note regarding future commissions….I have increased the cost of backgrounds a bit, they were taking me longer to complete than what I was charging for them. Updated pricing can be found here: http://duoradon.com/main/commission.....pricelist.html All other pricing remains the same.

Thanks for reading, please feel free to ask any questions :)
-Tanno
*A note regarding future commissions….I have increased the cost of backgrounds a bit, they were taking me longer to complete than what I was charging for them. Updated pricing can be found here: http://duoradon.com/main/commission.....pricelist.html All other pricing remains the same.

Commissions Closed for Now, sorry about the confusion....
General | Posted 6 years agoOk, sorry about posting a cryptic journal 10 minutes early, I don't know what the crap happened. I always write out my journals ahead of time so they're ready to post right at the scheduled time. I mis-spelled "available" in the subject line, I clicked on the word to correct it, and it posted it. What the hell? But, 6 people have commented on it, so I have my 2 slots filled for now. Thank you for your interest, I'll have more slots open again in the future.
This is why I always say "around 6 pm", because of junk like this. Sigh.

Help with Charity Fundraiser

What is it you like about Overeating?
General | Posted 7 years agoI remember back in the early days of the Internet when I found out I was not the only one who liked this sort of thing. It was surprising again to learn that it's a really common fetish....or affinity, or quirk, or whatever you want to call it.
What do you guys like about it? Why do you think it's so common? And what species do you prefer? I think my favorite is human male, but after that I tend to favor predators. It seems appropriate that it be a carnal thing, with the savory roasted meats and such. Not that you can't be stuffed with veggies. Or sweets, I love to draw desserts.
Any thoughts?

A word about file formats for your commissions…
General | Posted 7 years agoUPDATE Jan.7: Ok, so I took the file I used as an example below and flattened the PSD, saved it as a PNG with the Smallest File option (most compression, as I understand it). It took about 10 minutes for my computer to do it, which, meh.......and the end result was still 33MG. Still way too big for posting and truly, not a huge difference in appearance from the 5MG JPEG. When I first opened both images in PS side by side I couldn't see a difference at all. I had to zoom in so close to see a noticeable difference in quality that the image was badly pixelated anyway.
I'm sure that the PNG format makes a much more noticeable difference with hard-edged images and solid blocks of color, which it was my understanding that's what PNG was designed for anyway. But if you're going to want a PNG of your commission work from me, I'm sending you the full-sized file and you can compress it yourself as you see fit. I know people keep suggesting, Krita, SAI, but I don't have these things. I have Photoshop, that is what I use. Best I can do for ya.
TisFoolish brought it to my attention that my commission info was vague in the “What you will get” section. It was written back when CDs were still relevant, so I’ve updated the wording. I send JPEGs by default, but if you prefer another format, such as PNGs or PSDs, all you have to do is ask. If I’m able to accommodate, I will.
I know there are some folks who feel it’s gotta be PNG or nothing, but I use JPEG because it’s, well, sufficient. The format was created to handle graphics on the Internet. And because PNGs tend to be problematic…..about half the PNG files people send me for reference material can’t be opened in Photoshop. No idea why, it just doesn’t like them. So I open them in Paint and save them as JPEGs. My main concern though, is file size.
Here’s an example: this commission for Anon http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23380257/ ....as a flattened PSD, it is 91MG. Which means, as a PNG, it is 91MG. Delivering a file that size is....just silly. Unless you need it for print, or you're still working on it, such as adding color to lineart I've done for you, why would you need a file that large? The JPEG I sent to Anon remained 300dpi (the max size I work in) and measured 5.17 MG....still looks perfectly fine, but much more handleable. (I won't send you a JPEG that's full of artifacts). And the file I uploaded here is a bit smaller, 1.73MG, because I feel the customer should have a larger file than what is displayed to the public.
Unless circumstances change, I will always post public art in JPEG format because, and I say this with certainty, you do not need a 91MG file of someone else's commission. It's a moot point anyway since FA's max file size is 10MG, which is plenty big enough for this kind of venue.
Now, I understand that there are people who feel that, if they're paying for something, they should get every last bit of that something they bought, need it or not, and that's fine. You just need to let me know. I will not send you larger versions of someone else's work, though, please don't ask. I will also not send the rough draft sketches at full size, that's sort of a waste of time.
One last thing I changed in my Comm info, I no longer offer printed convention badges (don't have the ability to do that anymore) and I don't offer work on CD, that's kinda obsolete and I can't remember the last time anyone's wanted one.
As always, if you have questions on this or any of my policies, please feel free to ask.

Link to Commission Information
General | Posted 7 years agoHello all,
I have shut down my site (duoradon.com) but the commission section is still up. You can find all info on commission prices, rules and procedures here: http://duoradon.com/main/commission.....comstatus.html
As for when the next opening will be, I still have to finish the current set first and it's been taking me a while. I'm only averaging one comic page inked per week and that's slow even for me....not sure if it's the material or just me, but I'm doing my bestest. I probably won't be open again until at least December, but I will keep you posted.
Thanks!

Regarding the Post of Older Art
General | Posted 7 years agoFirst of all, very sorry about the flood.
Second, thank you all for the kind comments! I'm flattered you still seem to like my work from way-back.
Third, I'm going to amend my comment from last journal, requests to have work from duoradon.com re-posted over here will be restricted to the purchaser of the work only, please. In other words, if you commissioned work from me and don't see it here in my gallery, and you'd like it posted, just drop me a line.
Alternatively, if you have work I've done for you in your own gallery and would like to share, please feel free to post a comment with links to your pics here, or in my Shouts, whatever suits you.
I'd like to remind folks that if you enjoy going back to look at older work that might not be re-posted, you are welcome, encouraged in fact, to save them to your hard drive. Some of this stuff is a decade old or older, it can't be expected to stay online forever.....how many personal sites can you say have stayed intact or untouched in so many years? Change is good.

Saying Goodbye to Duoradon.com…
General | Posted 7 years agoAs sad as it makes me, I think it’s a sensible move at this point in time to close up my personal website. I really don’t have time to bring it up to speed (not sure the best way to deal with the SSL certificate problem at all) and it would take a tremendous amount of time and effort to overhaul its facade like I’d like to. Plus I’m not all that geeked about writing code, I’d prefer to drop files into an existing matrix that someone more technically skilled than myself has designed. Honestly, I don’t need my own website right now, I don’t have a store and I’m not in need of an online portfolio at the moment. I’ll keep the domain and if things change in the years to come, I might redesign a new site, but for now I’ll be sharing my art here on FA and with my Tumblr.
I’ll miss the old site, though, it was special to me and at one point I had fun coding it. Long time ago.
At this moment it is still active as I’m not quite sure how I want to handle the display of my commission information. FA’s commission section is great but I structure my options in an unusual way and I can’t fit it into the categories FA provides. I will, of course, let you know if that info moves and how to find it. Does me no good if you can’t.
So, in its stead I have opened a second FA account:
TannoRadon to display my personal work, which I have removed from Squeakie here. Squeakie will now be strictly for commissioned works or any art that I make for someone else. Tanno will house the art that I make for myself.
Why not just keep them all on the same page together? Like you, I want a place to express my own identity, to gather the things that make me happy together, which paints a piece of the portrait of who I am. Commission work is an expression from the person who purchases it, they are your universes and your characters. And while I am continually honored that you’d choose me to perform that very important task, the resultant work doesn’t represent any more about me than my ability to interpret your creativity. And since I make a lot more commissioned pieces than personal, Squeakie has become an amalgam of other people’s fantasies with bits of me floating here and there. It’s still work I’m quite proud of, but I also want a little page that’s just for me.
To keep things from getting confusing, I will not be posting anything regarding commissions on Tanno. Not announcements or updates or anything relating to projects for you guys. All that stays here. So if you don’t want to watch Tanno, you won’t miss out on commission stuff.
As for content over there, I’ve removed the personal art from Squeakie and posted my favorite pieces over there, as well as selections from duoradon.com that weren’t here on FA. I didn’t repost some because they were either too old or just not all that special, but if there is something you’d like to see put back up, let me know and I’ll see what I can do. Tanno will have a lot of gay male stuff, quite a few humans, some occasional stuffing, I’ve got some dragon pics I need to get done, lots of OCs, stuff like that. Nothing much in the way of boobs or hardcore sex, though. But it’s not like that’s in short supply on the Net.
The only oddball is River’s Journal, the rest of which I’ll eventually post here on Squeakie. It started as a personal project but I turned it into a commission thing, and I don’t want to split it up.
Thanks for reading all of that, best wishes and have a happy harvest season! Now I gotta get back to drawing these comics…..

Commissions closed for now.
General | Posted 7 years agoI have my next 3 clients, and thank you all so much for wanting art from me! I wish I could offer more slots at once.
To those waiting for your pics from me, thank you for your patience. I'm working on them now, it shouldn't be too much longer.
Take care!
