A quick progress announcement
General | Posted 11 years agoI'm back to work at the zoo now. Progression on commissions WILL continue but at a slower pace as art is relegated to the weekends.

Again, thanks so much to everyone who has watched me this past month! *shakes paws*
When will there be more of this?
A word about my commissions: I get a lot of similar questions about the pictures I post here and on my site; people ask if I'm going to continue a certain comic series or take the project from line art to color in the near future. Please, read the description of the image; if it's listed as a "commission", that means someone paid me to draw it for them. I personally had nothing to do with the characters or what's happing in the picture/comic, I just drew what was described for me. If the person paid for 3 comic pages, we did 3. If they paid for line art only, that's what I did for them. I'm truly flattered that folks are so keen on these pieces, but it's not up to me in any way to make more for the set or scenario. If there is to be more added to a project, it's up to the person who bought it to commission more.
And in regard to making additions as a request instead of a commission, I regret that my financial situation will not allow me to take requests at this time. I can't even get my own projects done right now.

General | Posted 12 years agoMy site's been woefully neglected lately (mostly work's fault, you wretched source of life-giving income, you) so I've added to it (and exclusive to it) a new section: http://www.duoradon.com/main/artwor.....erjournal.html
It's got a new set of characters but the same old theme, lots of fattiness. It'll be mostly sketches but a color drawing or two might slip in from time to time.....now, I'm going to TRY to post at least one new sketch each week, but that might be too optimistic, we'll see. Seriously, if it gets to be more than a week and nothing new has appeared, you can assume I'm either 1) too busy or 2) my muse has left me, which happens a lot with fetishy stuff for some reason. Please don't contact me privately or otherwise with "Hey, it's been 12 days with no update, when's the next journal going up?" sort of questions. I likely won't answer them for the simple reason that I've just asked you politely not to do it. Just be patient. I mean. It is free after all, so, you know......
4-Flavor Fatty Furry Art Project!
So, this inexcusably horrendous winter is giving me the way-downs and I want to do something colorful and summery: four pictures of four different characters, stuffed and roundy, eating a fanciful dessert in one of four flavors (lemon, lime, strawberry and grape). The flavor will also dictate the color scheme of the character; for instance, Lemon will be rendered all in shades of yellow, and so on. I'm going to draw a very loose sketch of the general pose I have in mind, post each sketch individually in my gallery, and the first person to post a comment on that picture will claim the spot for their character. The cost will be $30 each (a normal full color character commission from me costs $50). So, rules.......
-Four slots available, one picture per person, please.
-PayPal payments only; all payments are non-refundable.
-Only anthro characters for this project. Taurs are acceptable, no ferals. I can render an anthro version of your feral character, though, if you like. Also, fan art characters are acceptable, as long as they're anthro. Characters can be any gender, any species, any color.
-No exceptionally complex characters will be accepted, such as those covered with intricate designs, wearing dozens of strands of beads/chains, etc. If you're not sure, feel free to ask first.
-Art will be G-rated. I will not render an alternate adult version to send you privately, please don't ask.
-Completed art will be posted in my galleries; the purchaser of the art also has permission to do so.
-You will not have the opportunity to request any revisions to the artwork as you would with a full priced commission. You provide a character and the $30 fee, I will provide the color image. I will still send a sketch of the work in progress, but I won't take notes on it for this.
How to Claim a Slot:
1. I will post all 4 sketches in my gallery here on Friday, March 14th, 2014 around 8 pm-ish, Eastern. (The sketches will remain there as place holders, to be replaced by the final artwork later).
2. First person to post a comment on that picture will claim the spot for themselves. You may claim only one, so there will be four drawings, four different clients.
Then:
3. I will contact each commissioner via private message to give details on payment and to get your character's specs. A written description is acceptable if you have no existing art, but please be careful not to leave anything relevant out.
4. Work will begin immediately, this is not a waiting list. You will have until March 19th, 2014 to give both character details AND full payment if you want to keep your spot.
-Turnaround time is difficult to pinpoint, but it should be done by the end of March as I have the next few weeks off work.
Thanks in advance to all who participate!

General | Posted 12 years ago*This is not a journal to address the recent drama and exodus on FA. I choose not to voice my opinions on that, but I have no plans on leaving.*
It's been almost half a year since I made a journal entry, so I suppose I should post my status, should anyone be interested in that sort of thing. (It's really not very interesting. At least to you. To me, it's huge.)
Since the summer, my finances have been in crisis due to two factors. The first is this whole insurance/Obama Care quagmire.......do we need insurance, how much insurance, when, how much will it cost......it's been a 6 month cycle at work of 1) Hearing employee rumor about the horrors we can't possibly hope to afford, 2) Asking my supervisor if this is true, 3) Going online to try to make sense of the changing rules and coming away with only a partial verification and tons of questions.
As it turns out, and I'm holding my breath because it's not official yet, my state is one that expanded Medicaid and I qualify for it since I earn about 1% more than the poverty line (go Me, that 4-year college investment was SO worth it). So I should be on track for some kind of affordable health care, if the government finishes my application process before March.
But number two, and it's a huge number two, is my student loan payment which was fixed to go up to $329 a month. The banks didn't want to touch it so I was considering a lot of vague options.....do I have to quit commissions and get a second job and work 7 days a week? Or do I quit the zoo and work at a factory somewhere where I can lose an arm or be poisoned or who knows what.....My partner was willing to pay half of the bill each month, bless him, but it turns out he won't have to. I went to https://www.studentloanforgivenessplans.org
(which is an Obama instituted plan, just sayin') and they've taken over my loan. I would recommend checking it out if you're having problems making your loan payments; you don't have to be in default. I wasn't, I just wanted to see if I had any options and they put me on an income based repayment plan, so yay! (I should never have gone to art school in the first place, that's the real issue >:P )
So, until something else catastrophic crashes into my life, I'm still working at the zoo, hoping they'll put us back on 40 hours after this insurance mess settles down, and spending 2-3 days on commissions. They're moving super slowly, but as you can see below, I'm down to less than 10!
As for future commission openings, I still have no idea on the "ifs" or "whens". I know that's frustrating, but with so much instability in my finances, I'd hate to say one thing only to have the situation change and then take it back, etc. I'll have to wait and see where I'm at when I'm done with this list, then I'll let you know.
And I haven't forgotten about The Oasis comic and the other side projects, I just haven't had time to work on them. All the best to you guys in this new year!

General | Posted 12 years agoI have discontinued the use of my website's e-mail update system. It seems Hotmail won't let me send a mass e-mail due to spam constraints and there were too many people on it to break it up into little groups. I haven't been updating my site more than every other month or so anyway, though I will continue to do so as I have content for it.
To learn about updates to the site or the status of commissions, you may check https://www.duoradon.com at your leisure. I will also post the latest news in this journal and on my Tumblr. If the news is regarding your specific commission, such as a notice that I can begin, I will as always contact you personally via e-mail.
If anyone has a suggestion for another method of posting news, I'm willing to consider it.
The Opinion Poll Report
Last month I asked you guys some questions about your age and preferences on content (thank you for responding!) and was rather surprised by the results. To begin with, you're collectively a bit older than I expected, which was a relief. An artist I watch on DA polled the age question and there were a LOT of 13-16 year olds. Not that there's anything wrong with young'uns, but man, that's.....young.
As for content, Fleshballoon said, "Looks like you have your work cut out for you. Lots of people love what others hate. Good luck!" Couldn't be more true, I was surprised by the amount of diversity! Between the drawings I like to do for fun and the drawings people commission from me, I seem to have assembled a gallery that appeals to many different, and sometimes contradicting, tastes. Variety is the spice of life, I suppose :)
And as for myself, I'm 36, I like anything maleXmale first and foremost, then low-scale stuffing and messy hard vore. I dislike female body parts. ;)

General | Posted 12 years agoFirstly, ever since I took down the Mature section from duoradon.com people have been asking, "where's this comic, where's that pic?" The Mature section is not going back up on my site (I won't go into "why" for the hundredth time) and since some were not uploaded into my gallery here, I'll be doing that soon. I apologize in advance for the spam, there will be over 20 files, but before anyone comes to me with, "Hey! Where did you find time to do all this?!", these are not new commissions, they are old comics I never got around to posting here before.
I will not be uploading
strawkitty 's UB comic, though, since that one is 23 pages by itself. If you've never seen it, it can be found in his gallery: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/226201/
Second, I've seen artists asking their watchers these questions and I'm curious myself, so if you feel like posting your answers in a comment below......
1) How old are you?
2) What subject do you like to see me draw the most?
3) What subject do you like the least?
For #2, please don't just put "Oh, I love everything you draw!", that's not a legitimate answer. I mean, it's sweet and all, but not helpful in the least. Pick a subject, ok?

Now, if you see your name here and you're no longer interested for any reason, I'd really appreciate you letting me know; it would save me the trouble of trying to contact you when your name comes up. You can still sign up at a future opening if you want to.
If you are interested in getting a commission in the future, please note the changes I will have to make to accommodate my odd availability before I open again. (These DO NOT apply to the 11 people above....you should continue to use the rules and prices currently listed on www.duoradon.com).
1. Pricing changes.....it won't be a drastic hike, but most of my prices will increase somewhat before I open again.
2. I will start taking commission orders one at a time as opposed to making a queue. So: open commissions, take the first person to speak up, fill that order, then open for another, etc. Work will begin immediately, you won't be signing up to wait for your commission.
3. The time frame for submitting descriptions and payment will shorten. Instead of one month, a person who claims a commission spot will have 15 days to submit full description and payment or they forfeit their spot. Payments of $200 or less will be required up front, anything more than that can be paid 50% up front - 50% upon completion of sketches.
4. I will increase the price limit to accommodate the increase in rate, but each client will be restricted to one project per session. You may still order up to 6 comic pages, for example, but it must be for one continuous story, not 3 pages for comic A and 3 for comic B. So, one write-up only. The only exception: I will still accommodate up to 6 separate character studies with no backgrounds, but you should submit your descriptions for all characters in one e-mail, please.
If you have any questions, please feel free to voice them!

A General Update....
General | Posted 12 years agoIt's time for a bi-monthly update, I suppose.....April was horrible. First, I had a problem with my local tax office. They didn't have tax records for me for 2003-2005 (even though I filed properly and already responded to the same request for information back in 2009) so I lost a day and a half getting all that together for them. The woman I dealt with specifically told me, so I'm passing it on, that they're telling everyone to save their tax information for 10 years now. Yeah. I filed with H&R Block in '03 and even they had a really hard time retrieving my tax logs from that far back. So if you're thinking about cleaning out your file cabinet and wondering, "What can I get rid of.....", save the tax stuff.
(I will say this about H&R Block....the lady that helped me was very nice. She spent an hour working on the problem with me and didn't charge me anything, I was very grateful for that.)
Then a couple weeks later I received a letter from the federal government, they didn't like the way I claimed my commission earnings this year. Evidently the wording I used was misleading and they wanted to know if I owed more tax on it, lost another day dealing with that. I had to call them to ask a few critical questions and sat on hold for an hour and a half. I won't get my tax return until they decide whether or not my explanations were good enough, and the worst part is that I can't call either problem resolved, they'll either contact me again if it's still a problem or I just won't hear from anyone if everything's fixed.
Plus last month was really rainy and unusually cold (like, mid 30's) and since we have to work outside, I got royally sick and missed a day of work. Commissions have been going very slowly....my gift for Mom's Day is doing all her yard work so I've been spending a lot of time outside lately. It's almost done, thank the maker.
When I do finish the 2 commission images I'm currently coloring, I'm going to take a short break to get some long standing things done, like GoldFox's last Kurt vore pic and those 2 pages of the Oasis comic. Then I'm back on it.
I do have a tumblr now if anyone's curious: http://duoradon.tumblr.com/ It's all stuff I want to draw for yucks, no commissions. No porn either, sorry.
Have a good summer!

Going back to work!
General | Posted 12 years agoI'm being called back to work on Monday, March 25th.....sooner than I expected, but like I said, no one was giving up any info. As for commissions, they will still continue though I'll only be working on them a day or two a week as opposed to every day. Patience is a virtue.....
March 8th:
My current job (horticulture) is seasonal and I am now off work until further notice. That means I will be able to focus more heavily on my commission queue. I'll list it again here....I know most of the people on this list have probably forgotten they've sign up, but I will still offer each their spot if they should want it as soon as I can.

Now, if you see your name here and you're no longer interested for any reason, I'd really appreciate you letting me know; it would save me the trouble of trying to contact you when your name comes up. You can still sign up at a future opening if you want to.
As for how long it will take me to get to you, that's the frustrating bit, I have no idea. It depends on whether or not anyone cancels and what those who do want their commissions decide to get. In addition, my employer was not able to give me a start date for next season, so I don't know how long I'll be unemployed. It might be a few weeks, it could be more than a month.
However....because of reasons I won't go into, it looks like we'll all be restricted to part-time when I go back to work, and that may last the entirety of 2013 (again, no one knows anything for sure). For as long as I'm working part-time, I will also be picking away at my list (as opposed to stopping commissions outright like I had originally planned). So I will likely get through this list and be able to open for new commissions sooner than I had previously thought.
Thanks, enjoy your Shamrock Shakes :)

March 8th:
My current job (horticulture) is seasonal and I am now off work until further notice. That means I will be able to focus more heavily on my commission queue. I'll list it again here....I know most of the people on this list have probably forgotten they've sign up, but I will still offer each their spot if they should want it as soon as I can.

Order_Chiroptera Yay!Slow progress, and a commission idea.....
General | Posted 13 years agoAlthough I don't have much to report, I thought it might be nice to mention that I'm still here and still working on the previous commission clients. Plus I'm tired of looking at my old journal. Projects are coming along slowly, but I am dedicating my weekends to finishing these up. Thanks very much for your patience :)
In regard to opening a new commission queue after I've attended to everyone who signed up previously, I won't have any news until this winter, when I see how my time off plays out. However, I did have a thought as to how I might go about future commissions.....the problem now is that I'll only have a couple of months off work to do them, and I'd really like to avoid having them flow over into my full time job (which is what's happening now). So I could make them more structured, set into regimented projects that all take about the same time as opposed to taking in whatever comes my way.
I might decide to offer spots in a group scene. Let's say, for instance, I'm going to do a full-color picnic stuffing scene with 6 or 7 characters. People could sign up to have one of their characters in the scene for maybe $25 or $30 (a full color character from me now typically costs $50). I would handle the background and placement and such, you would just provide your character's description and any relevant notes, like how large you wanted him expanded, or say, "My guy likes this one, can you show them feeding each other", and so forth. Then when completed, each person who paid would get a nice sized file via e-mail or whatnot, which you'd be free to post in your gallery if you wanted. No character would be obstructed or off in the distance, they'd all be in the foreground, but you wouldn't have much of a say in how everything was organized, that would kind of be a surprise. There might be clean ones and adult ones, possibly two scenes a month. Would anyone participate in something like that? Or are there any other suggestions that you'd like to make?
Again, thanks so much to everyone who has watched me this past month! *shakes paws*

Order_Chiroptera Yay!No Donation Art/Site Update for June
General | Posted 13 years agoAs I mentioned last month, I work full time now; I'd hoped to work on commissions in the evenings but 9 hours of hard labor doesn't leave me with any energy, so commission work (what remains of it) has to be restricted to the weekends. Therefore:
Donations
There will be no new donation art in June. There will probably not be any new donation art for a while, in fact. I want to prioritize my commission work, then when those are done I'll finish up the Oasis comic series. I don't know when that will be, but I have decided to post the last 2 pages of this final donation comic in my galleries for free.
So to be clear: for the Oasis donation comic set only, Page 1 is free (already appears in my galleries). Pages 2, 3 and 4 are currently available for a donation of $10 each. Pages 6 and 7 (the last pages) will be posted publicly when they are completed (an announcement will be made at that time).
You may send donations if you wish to receive any of the previous gift art (see instructions and list at duoradon.com), but please do not donate for new art, you will not be able to purchase anything new.
Site Update
I will not be updating my site in June either. I will wait until I have more new art before I make an update. An e-mail notice will be sent out to those in my mailing list when that happens.
Commissions
As for future commissions, it looks like I may not be off work as long as I thought; it could be only a month or two in the winter. I won't know until it actually happens, unfortunately, but that would mean I'd only have time for a few commissions each year. I am taking down my commission queue, but when I know what I'll be doing this winter, I'll start with those that had already signed up before I open to the public. Those people being: Kamatz, QuetzaDrake, Rana, Rabbitfangs, William, Addylad, Shaun R., Ryan F., Christian S., Wraeth N. and Kai, in that order. Naturally, I'll contact you first to ask if you're available before I request any info from you. If, at any time, you wish to be removed from my commission list, please please please let me know so I don't have to waste time trying to get in touch with you.
If anyone is interested, this is what I currently have in the works and will be posting eventually: 3 large color images of varying content, 1 flat color BE pic, a 5 page line-art stuffing/WG comic, and 1 color micro vore comic page. After those are done, I move on to my own projects as time permits.
Zoo Job
I did have something interesting happen today at work......our team takes care of the grass and landscaping at our zoo, including a strip that encircles the current wolf exhibit. The animals are kept inside with a chain link fence, but from the visitor's side, people are kept back from the fence by a railing. Even if the wolves come right up to the fence, you're still about six feet away from them.
I was working behind the exhibit, up against the fence, down on my hands and knees trying to dig out a thistle that was growing against the fence when I looked up and there was a wolf nose 3 inches from my face. She wasn't snarling or anything, just curious. They're arctic wolves, so she's a whitish-gray with beautiful gold eyes. I talked to her and made kissy noises at her (I have no idea why humans do that to animals but we all do) and when she decided I didn't have any treats, she moved on. Then her sister had to come over and check me out too. It kind of made my day....the work itself may be brutal sometimes, but being so close to wild animals is totally Math.

Update: Oasis 4, Job, Commissions & Adult Art section
General | Posted 13 years agoDonation Gift Art Offer:
Jambo, Everyone!
Page 4 of the Oasis Donation comic is now available! You can get it here: http://www.jackal86.100megs8.com/Du.....te/donate.html
This will likely be the last donation comic set I do. I will complete the entire 7 pages, though I can't be sure each one will be available right at the start of the month. The archive will remain on my site for some time after, however, in the event anyone wants to buy past files.
Job Hunt: I was able to acquire the full time job I was after, thank you to everyone who voiced their support! I'll be working on the horticulture team at my local zoo, and it's seasonal work so I'll still be able to do commissions for you guys in the winter.
Commissions: I will be completing all the commission orders that are currently open, however long it might take. Once they're complete, I'll be on hiatus until my hours drop off in winter. At that time, I'll pick up the commission queue where I left off, getting as many done as I can before work starts again in the spring. Then commissions will be on hold again, and so forth. After I get this list completed, I'll be opening up again for new orders, though my procedure will have to change a bit. It's too early to worry about that now, though.
Adult Art Section: The 18 and older section will not be returning to duoradon.com. If you are age 18 or older, you may still view it by this link: http://www.jackal86.100megs8.com/Du.....re/mature.html
This section will not be updated further, and it will only stay up until the next update. If you wish to continue to view any of these files, please save them to your computer. I will not be sending them to anyone by e-mail. THIS DOES NOT GIVE ANYONE PERMISSION TO RE-POST OR DISTRIBUTE THESE FILES. The only people who may post these images are those who originally bought them, and then only in places that permit such artwork.
As for future adult commissions, I will only be posting them here in my FA gallery.
I am not taking away the option to commission adult material from me, those policies still remain in effect.
Thank you for reading, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Again, thanks so much to everyone who has watched me this past month! *shakes paws*

New Oasis Page and Commission Status
General | Posted 14 years agoDonation Gift Art Offer:
Jambo, Everyone!
Page 3 of "The Oasis" is available now for a $10 donation, and you can get it here: http://www.jackal86.100megs8.com/Du.....te/donate.html I hope you'll like it :)
Commission Status
There is a possibility that I may not be able to open commissions for another round. I am currently job hunting and it will depend on how that pans out. If I'm not able to find anything suitable, I will naturally have to accept another list of commission orders to keep myself afloat. However, if I do land a job and it doesn't pay much, I'd still like to take a few commissions to earn some extra money, but it likely won't be a long list like the previous set. It will depend on how much I make versus how many hours I work. So obviously there are a lot of unknowns and unfortunately I won't be able to give anyone a straight answer on my status until I know what happens.
There are no changes to the current queue as of yet. But even if there are, rest assured that everyone who has already paid will receive the art they have paid for.
I will post information as soon as I get it, but please don't contact me and request private or advanced availability notices, I don't offer that.
Thank you!
I also have an important policy update:
As of right now, I am no longer able to take checks or money orders as payment for commissions or donations. Until further notice, my only method of payment is PayPal.
Again, thanks so much to everyone who has watched me this past month! *shakes paws*

The Secret World of Arrietty
General | Posted 14 years agoIf you miss seeing Arrietty in theaters, you're doing yourself a huge disservice. It's one of the most beautiful animated films I've ever seen. I especially loved the backgrounds....Studio Ghibli always paints fantastic backgrounds and these must be among their finest. And they've paid so much attention and forethought to the differences in physics between the human sized world and the microcosm. The characters were endearing, the story was engaging and all the bugs were absolutely adorable. See it soon!

Donation Gift Art Offer:
Jambo, Everyone!
I've started a new stuffing comic for donations, and page 1 is free! You can see that here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7324779/ Page 2 is also available this month for a $10 donation, and you can get it here: http://www.jackal86.100megs8.com/Du.....te/donate.html I hope you'll like it :)
Thank you for your help!
I also have an important policy update:
As of right now, I am no longer able to take checks or money orders as payment for commissions or donations. Until further notice, my only method of payment is PayPal.
Again, thanks so much to everyone who has watched me this past month! *shakes paws*

November Donation Art/Fic Now Available!
General | Posted 14 years agoDonation Gift Art Offer:
A few days ahead of schedule this month, even! How 'bout that. Chapter 2 of the Beggar story, with art, is ready, please see details below. I've also updated duoradon.com, and that includes a few items not posted here if you want to check them out: http://www.jackal86.100megs8.com/Du.....o/updates.html Happy Halloween! :3
I'm trying something new for the next series....I'm offering a short written story accompanied by color artwork. It features Fen, my wolf taur (see him here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6078381/ ) a fellow who has fallen on hard times and finds himself near starvation. Just when he thinks his time is up, a passer-by delivers some news that will change his life forever.
It is, as usual, a stuffing theme, and there will be a new chapter each month for four months. Each chapter will be several pages long and will be delivered in both .doc and .html form, so hopefully, it will be readable on everyone's system. (If you need a different file type and I'm able to provide it, please contact me with instructions.)
Along with the chapter, you will receive a single corresponding color illustration; a $10 donation gets you both the current month's text files and the chapter's illustration, they aren't sold separately.
I hope folks will enjoy this as much as they have the comics! For further details, please visit: http://www.jackal86.100megs8.com/DuoRadon/main/donate/donate.html

I hope folks will enjoy this as much as they have the comics! For further details, please visit: http://www.jackal86.100megs8.com/DuoRadon/main/donate/donate.html

Donation Gift Art Offer:

Hello, All!
Well, the server that handles our site's control panel has been offline since last night, so I can't actually update duoradon.com itself, yet. But I do want to let people know that the new donation project is available now....here are the full details! (This will all be posted in the Donation section of my site as well when I can get it updated)
October - January:
"The Beggar"

Chapter 1: Pancakes +

In addition, here is an excerpt from the first chapter:
"The opossum tsk'd at the sorry sight, then commenced rifling through her coverings. She pulled out a small packet enfolded in white paper, unwrapped it, and offered it to Fen. "Eat this," she croaked.
Fen's sensitive nose leading the way, he turned to see a fat sandwich in her outstretched hand. It was piled with roasted turkey, bacon strips, lettuce and sliced tomato, held together with thick hunks of soft, white, crusty bread. Immediately he began to salivate and without a second thought, he accepted the gift and gulped it down in a few hasty bites. It was the most exquisite thing he'd tasted in near memory, though his desperate hunger may have had a hand in that matter.
By the time Fen had licked his fingers clean, the opossum was at his back, repeatedly punting him in the rump. It was far from painful, but the Taur couldn't hide his irritation, sandwich or not. "Hey!" he groused. "Knock it off!"
She didn't speak and she didn't cease. Thump, thump, thump. Perplexed, Fen had no choice but to stagger to his feet. Finally satisfied, the nomad hobbled over to clutch his upper arm in her thickset hand. "You see the valley," she burbled, pointing a chubby finger at the view. "Follow the road down. Cross the river, take the right fork. Then you will find a village called Clearbrook. Yes....the people there are compassionate and generous. You'll find what you need there...." And with that, she released him and returned to the road, dragging her plump, furless tail behind her."
