I can't Shaymin
Posted 10 years agoShaymin whyyyy D:
I've noticed Pokemon are stupidly hard to draw right. Foxes, wolves, even otters I can draw no problem, but most Pokemon give me such a hard time and I have no clue why. Well, no... I think it's the proportions of the body. Yes, that's it. They all have such unique body structures that trying to stay true to Sugimori's design provides quite a significant challenge for each individual 'mon. I could take some creative liberties, but... well, it always ends up looking wrong if I do that. So today's model is Shaymin (Sky forme) and I find myself stumped with how to get its seemingly simple design right.
So there's my rant. Your advice is welcome, but I just think this comes down to practice.

Beta!
Posted 10 years agoI'm going to try it our for a few days just so I can really get a good opinion on whether it's good or not. Well, of course it's beta, but I'm still going to see what it's like thus far.
My Postion on IMVU Buying/Borrowing/Joining with/Marrying FA
Posted 10 years agoI trust Dragoneer and his staff to make good choices~ Good luck, Dragoneer!
But if by some miracle the moon landing was faked, Bigfoot is Elvis Presley and IMVU conspires to ruin FA, I'll go to Weasyl and DA instead! But, y'know... not until that happens.

Commission Information!
Posted 10 years agoPrices:
$5 for sketch, plus $5 per character
$10 for flats and a simple background, plus $10 per extra character
$20 for cel-shading and good background, plus $15 per extra character
$30 for full detail and full background, plus $20 per additional character
Prices are negotiable. All prices are in US Dollars and are subject to change. If you have a commission pending your price will not change midway.
I require payment for the sketch up front, and after both parties decide the sketch is acceptable I will require the full payment before I begin the finished drawing. (E.g for a full detail commission with two characters ($50), I will take $10 up front and the remaining $40 will be paid after the sketch is complete.)
Story Commissions:
I charge 1 cent per word ($10 per 1000 words), rounded down to the nearest dollar. After discussion of the story and a word count goal, I'll take $10 (or the whole charge if the story is to be that short) up front and the rest just before sending the client the story.
What I will not draw or write: Babyfur, scat, farting, lethal vore, lethal popping (ambiguity is acceptable in both cases), and NSFW (defined as anything I would mark Mature or higher), and others subject to my discretion. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask.
Please send a note if you'd like a commission or if you just have questions~

Commissions?
Posted 10 years agoOut of curiousity, if I offer commissions (say, $30 for a full piece?) would you buy one? I'd have it done within a week most of the time. If you think that's too pricey (or even too low) please let me know; I'm new to the whole commissions thing.
By the advice of
Incinermyn, I've decided the range will be something like this:
$5 for sketch
$10 for flat colored with light background, plus $10 per extra character
$20 for cel-shaded and background, plus $15 per extra character
$30 for full detail and full background, plus $20 per extra character

Next Story to Write?
Posted 10 years agoI'm feeling like writing up another inflation-centric story. I have three topics I'm debating...
1) A lonely human receives a balloonie Pokemon from an anonymous manufacturer in the mail whom he quickly befriends, only to find he longs for the carefree life of a toy like her.
2) The legendary Pokemon Latios visits the Balloon Area trying to have a good time, only to find himself unable to get away from all the attention being a legendary brings.
3) Finally continuing "Not Just a Toy", an alternate version of Sai's adventures as he attempts to find a trainer to care for and raise a young, fragile balloonie Vulpix like him.

Inflation Open Writing Topic
Posted 11 years agoOkay, some of you may have be aware of a couple stories I've wrote under the title "PokePark's New Area". I've written two so far (Flareon's Squeaky Friend and A Singed Opinion) and the great
Incinermyn has written one too and it's amazing!
Now, I would like to encourage others to write their own story in this world. If you'd rather not read through one of them (honestly Incinermyn's story does the best job explaining the setting) but you still want to participate, here's the TL;DR:
PokePark of PokePark 2 opened up a new area- the Balloon Area. It's on an island off the coast of Cove Area styled like a theme park where Pokemon go to become balloonies (made of latex and filled with air) and inflate to their heart's content. While everyone is welcome, people keep the fact that Pokemon can inflate there secret so newcomers can experience the surprise they felt. Popping leads to regeneration within minutes- no deaths.
Recurring characters include Buizel, a manager of the Balloon Rental Service, where Pokemon can either rent their fellow 'mons as toys or volunteer to be the toys themselves. Wailord has a ferry on his back so Pokemon can easily get to and from the island for just ten berries, and Miltank has a concession stand where she sells milk to strengthen latex skin as well as a special drink to turn Pokemon into balloonies without inflating them- normally, once you return to normal size, you turn back into a regular Pokemon, but this avoids that problem.
Of course, you are welcome to add any details, characters, or other points you see fit.
Writers of all skill levels are welcome! If you don't want to write but you think you know someone who'd like to, link them here! I'll be sure to read them all if I get the link- just send me a note, shout or comment!

What should I do next?
Posted 11 years agoI have three series I'm working on:
A Toy's Fantasy
The Balloon Area
Not Just a Toy
In addition, I want to start a running slice-of-life comic prominently featuring inflatables, plushies, and balloonies and such, although I think I'd like to get better at drawing first, because I want it to look professional...ish...
But I don't have time to make all of these. So before I get started, what would you guys like to see first? Or if you have another idea or thing you'd like me to continue, let me know!

Overexpecting?
Posted 11 years agoThe story I've been uploading- Ignem Progressionis Infinitum. I feel like more people were going to like it and I'd get a few favorites and comments or something. But so far... nothing. Is this... normal to have so few views? I mean, I'm only uploaded a few chapters a this point, but it's not good for morale when no one seems to care at all. Any words of encouragement? Explanations? What should I realistically expect?
Art Mastery
Posted 11 years ago10000 hours. That's how long it takes to be an expert at (insert skill here).
That's 4 hours of drawing every day for 6 years, 1000 10-hour drawings or 2000 5-hour drawings. I mention this because I can barely stand the quality of my art and I feel like I can and should do much better. I always wonder if I'm doing something wrong, but I think it just comes down to practice (or lack thereof). I have been drawing for two years, so I think I'm being a little hard on myself. If anything, it's a good reason to keep practicing. I made it my mantra.
