General | Posted 7 years agoSolved: it was a bot. Still we could have been friends Mr bot! UwU
So I got a note yesterday and it was titled "hi like you". However they deleted their account so I couldn't read the note or see who it was from.
If the person who sent it is reading this then:
Thank you so much! I wish I could have read it and I hope you closed your account for a worthy reason.
It bugs me that this will probably remain an unsolved mystery but I don't get any messages so it was still really nice :3

General | Posted 7 years agoOk so I feel that I should mention why my account went 2 years before any activity and why I have several complete characters out of the blue.
The answer being, I was WAYYY too OCD about my art and basically refused to post until it was perfect.
[EDIT] the rest of this is just a rant u don't have to read it. Twas really just to vent tbh
I've actually been making 3D furry characters and animations for a few years now. I had this goal to be able to pose or animate my characters with as little effort and time as someone drawing a 2D sketch. Maby I'll mention that I'm a self taught artist and I just kinda assumed that this was an achievable goal. (Spoiler: it's not).
As time went on I also faded in and out of the fandom. Sometimes not working on my art for a number of months. When I did I always ended up working on some unimportant detail like fur reflection or normal maps, never really getting closer to my goal of becoming a super speedy 3D photo factory. Everything I made was also just kinda for fun without the intent to post here but I always felt that I should be posting my work cuz someone would probably want to see it. I also wanted to give back since I've been lurking round the fandom for a good while and you guys are the most wholesome community out there. You helped me get through some shit without knowing and I wanted the chance to maby help someone else through some shit even if I don't know it.
Alright so what changed you ask? Well I've been doing a lot of self reflection lately and I found that attaining my goal wasn't really what was holding me back. I first realised that I have a much more general problem of not finishing things. For example I have a drone I've tinkered with for a few years, All that's left to do before it can fly is change a single line of code. Will I ever do it, who knows. But more importantly I realised that i, very cleverly, would add complexity to my goals to push them away while still getting work done. Thus feeling accomplished but never actually finishing anything.
Now I have a bunch of 3D assets and skills for a goal that was getting more difficult every step I made. So my plan is to say fuck it. And just post. Not think. Post. Cuz I'm Shure someone will like it even if the fur isn't reflecting EXACTLY the same as it does irl
Phew... Feels good man. I'm glad I got through that. Sorry for the wall of text and sorry if you expected a more thrilling tail I just needed to let that out somewhere. I guess I won't edit it or refine it but if you did read this far thanks! /Rant
