K-Ninth Sense
Posted 14 years agoMidwest Furfest 2011 was much fun! Part of what we did on a whim was to partially remake a dramatic scene from the movie Sixth Sense. Cheeto did all the acting. I did all the video stuff. Check it out over on the Youtubes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPbIFVB4Qvc
Bronies make primetime on the Colbert Report!
Posted 14 years agoColbert gave a shout-out tonight:
"Thank you so much, everybody. I want to give a big shout-out here, out there, to all my Bronies who may be watching!"
This was right off at the top of the show tonight. Pretty sweet!
It should be available later tonight over at:
http://www.colbertnation.com/full-episodes/
It'll be the Monday August 1st show.

Curious Fog
Posted 14 years agoHad something earlier I've not seen, or heard, before. I was checking outside to see what the fog was like, and I could hear all sorts of birds chirping and singing away. But this was the middle of the night, dark, with a very light hazy fog, and I could hear birds all over just singing away.
It was a little eerie, especially just having watched, not just 15 minutes earlier, an episode of Dead Zone where all the local animals go crazy and start attacking people.
But my guess is that with the light hazy fog, and some street lights in the distance, it did give a slightly pre-dawn hazy glow quality. So maybe they mistakenly thought it was dawn.
Or if you hear in the news of crazy animal attacks, we'll know otherwise.

Outback Detergent - A Furry Product?
Posted 16 years agoWell, a semi-fictional one with a furry skunk mascot. Semi-fictional in that it's a joke product, but one you can actually get. I saw this weird infomercial-like commercial for a laundry detergent, making all sorts of weird claims (e.g. "Gets out all the stains common with the new Outback: Cricket Foam, Pond Scum, Tree Sap, Squirrel Residue, The Slime That Comes on Fishes, Volcanic Ash, Musk, Racoon Prints, Russian Dressing, Aggressive Perspiration"), and then has this detergent bottle with a big skunk on it.
Turns out it's really a commercial for a car, in a weird roundabout way. But I thought it was amusing. And the website features the skunk "Stinky" who makes amusing comments of his own (e.g. "Everything you need to know about powering out tough, gross, and often animal-based stains. Hey wait a minute, that's me!"). Check it out at:
http://www.subaru.com/outback-detergent.html
Hover over all the different items on the main page before going to another, as seems you can't come back to it without reloading. When you check out the "infomercial" be sure to read all the text, as that's often the funniest stuff. And if you go to Stain Tips you can just put in anything and keep hitting Advice to cycle randomly through the answers (though if use a swear word it will cycle through a different set *grin*).
Oh! And bonus points if you can identify Stinky's voice!

The Golden Compass
Posted 18 years agoJust went and saw this today with
lilifox and really enjoyed it. And particular note for here is I wanted to say it's actually a very furry-friendly movie. It really doesn't get shown in the previews, but it has lots and lots critters, some which they call 'demons' but are like peoples' souls, and are much like familiars. And don't worry, this isn't any sort of spoiler, as this all comes out at the very start of the movie. So basically almost everyone in the movie either is sentient talking animal, or has one with them.
And the movie itself is much like a live action Miyazaki anime. It was a lot of fun and worth checking out I think.
