Commissions... Soon...
Posted 12 months agoSo for the past several months, I've been dancing around the idea of taking up commissions again. I haven't done this in well over five years, as for me taking on commissions has always been a BIG deal. When there is money involved, I always feel this innate, internal pressure that causes me to worry a LOT more. For example:
Are my prices fair?
Am I taking too long?
What if I have to redraw this ten thousand times before I get I right?
Am I happy with the final product?
Will THEY be happy with the final product?
It's kind of funny though..... as I look back on past commissions, those experiences were overwhelmingly positive. I got to tackle such interesting scenarios I would have NEVER thought of.... not to mention drawing other people's lovely characters interacting with my own.
But I digress....
Exactly when I open up shop, I cannot say. I'd love to right now, to be honest.... the itch to draw is back, the artist's block is gone. It's just that the ol' day job has me stuck on a stressful project that I think I better see through the end of the year. I suppose that would bring things to likely January 2025. A new year, a fresh start, right?
So if you'd be interested in commissioning me, definitely check back near the end of the year. Around that time I should have my commissioning information/pricing updated and accessible from both here and Eka's Portal.

Updates & Such
Posted 2 years agoSo, I'm thinking I'm going to be a little more active going forward.... I guess I didn't realize how much I missed drawing, the community... everything! I sort of tested the water earlier this year, and was taken aback by the sheer number of people welcoming me back with open paws. It was a shock. You furballs are the greatest....thank you so much, it really meant a lot!
Looking back at some of my earliest stuff, I honestly don't think I started out with any real talent. I'm half-tempted to post the oldest drawing of Echo I can find and compare it to now. You thought early Garfield was cringe? This would blow your f*****g socks off.
The only thing I suppose I had was persistence.... and maybe that's all you need? Then again, some of you artists and your perfect line art, color blending and photorealistic detail....yeeaahh, I don't think that's physically attainable. I have the shakiest damn hands, probably because I'm strung higher than an upright piano.
Regardless, I'm going to continue to draw and improve, maybe even start taking on some commissions again here soon.
Just a few thoughts, thanks for reading!

Glad to be back!
Posted 2 years agoNope, I didn't die - I just took a big, fat hiatus. What can I say, life can really get in the way sometimes. That said, I probably shouldn't let FOUR YEARS elapse in between submissions. Yeah... major dropping of the ball on my part! ^^;
Now, please know that I'm still not currently taking on commissions right now, but I may again at some point. If I do, you can bet I'll be there with bells on to announce it. :)

Midwest Fur Fest 2017
Posted 8 years agoHad a good time with a bunch of furballs at Midwest FurFest 2017!
Yeah, so MFF 2017 was the first furry convention I have ever attended. Not going to lie, I was in awe most of the time. If you happened to see me, you could probably tell I was shy as ****. That said, I did open up a bit as time went on and got to meet a few of my favorite artists. Pretty damn cool. I also made several new friends and honestly I can't wait for the next one! I only wish I could have stayed for the entire four days. That, and not have to deal with that awful Chicago traffic! XD

COMMISSION STATUS
Posted 9 years agoCOMMISSION SLOTS STATUS: CLOSED FOR NOW
Whoops!
Posted 9 years agoOkay, so a couple weeks turned into months and I've got nothing to show for. You might call it laziness. Big, fat, dragon-caliber laziness. X3
In all honesty though, I've just been taking time to do other things: 3D modeling, gaming, music, etc. Nevertheless, the need to draw is constantly at the forefront of my mind, so rest assured I've got some things in the works.
I will be able to start taking on commissions the moment I straighten out my living situation - which should be in the next couple of weeks.

Open For Commissions!
Posted 10 years agoHappy New Year! I am now open for commissions! :D
I just want to take a moment to say it’s great to be back at it and I ‘m looking forward to what’s in store for 2016. ^^
Now available are three slots available on a first come, first serve basis. Remember that payment guarantees your spot; a slot marked as “reserved” is still subject to cancellation. You can always cancel if you decide you'd rather not wait or if funds become an issue.

Refreshed & Commission Status
Posted 10 years agoFirst off, I'd like to say that I've pretty much recovered from my month-long burnout. Overall, it feels pretty great. :)
Naturally, I'm really wanting to open up some new comic/single slots here soon. After all, I'm finishing up the last of my current commissions.
THAT SAID, I'm a bit hesitant to accept new commissions because - in all honesty - I really would like a break from drawing Echo. I mean come on, the poor dragon needs a rest; I fear he'll grow too fat and lazy with everyone I'm shoving down his throat! I'm craving some variation in whatever I draw next - and orange filling every frame isn't going to cut it. X)
Now, I'm not saying I plan on refusing commissions that feature Echo or anything like that (as for me, that would be impossible *_*). What I am saying is that when I do open up some new slots, commissions that features characters other than Echo will likely have priority.

Commission Status/Update
Posted 10 years agoUpdate!
I'm just going to come out and say it... I've been suffering a major burnout. Put simply, I bit off more than I could chew and now I'm feeling the full effects. I'm having trouble focusing and investing myself in my work, and it's all become quite frustrating.
Now, this isn't the first time this has happened, but with weight of commissions on my shoulders it seems so much worse this time around. It is for this reason that I cannot accept any further commissions at this time. I need to concentrate on what I already have on my plate before I open up any new slots.
Now, for those of you who have already commissioned me and are waiting, I ask for your patience and understanding. Know that I will not let you down! Things are just going to take longer than I originally anticipated.

Just send me a note if you are interested.
I'm doing slots on a first come, first serve basis. Payment guarantees your spot; a slot marked as reserved is still subject to cancellation. You can cancel if you decide you'd rather not wait or if funds become an issue.
Due to the popularity of the comic slot, I had to double my slots by creating a waiting list. For now it is FULL, but please check back from time to time! I won't keep you waiting as long as Valve would for Half Life: Episode 3!!! XD

OceanOtterOpening for Commissions 2015
Posted 11 years agoIt's a new year and I'm happy to announce that I will soon be opening up for commissions! I plan on focusing on custom comics (full color) and singles (both full-color images and line sketches). Of course, other formats are always on the table.
Note that I'm still in the process of writing up my terms & conditions, configuring a paypal account, and determining best prices. Know that when it comes to pricing, I am aiming for fair, modest prices that we can both agree on.
More to come!

Posted 11 years agoMwahahhaaaah! Need I say more?
Just getting settled down in my new apartment, so I figured I'd upload a little something. :3 As for school I'm now starting into my last semester of college and let me just say it feels very, very weird. Kind of pumped, kind of not. I don't know. I'm just excited to be back at it.

Summer Hiatus
Posted 11 years agoAs is usual, summers are not only a break from school for me but a break from drawing as well. I have little free time so naturally I can't spend hours going at it with a pen or chilling online (not that I don't want to!).
Not to worry though....come late August I'll be back at it again!

Update...
Posted 11 years agoWhile I've been rather busy with things lately, I've found some time to mess around in blender. I've been able to import my models and have already begun learning how to rig them. It's a little frustrating, but the end results are pretty cool, so I'll keep at it for now.
In the end, hopefully all this work will not only allow me to create 3D content, but also improve my drawing skills as I gain a better understanding of anatomy, movement, etc.

Back At It
Posted 12 years agoThe holidays are over with and I'm back at it for 2014! I want to get back to making more comics here soon, and I'm currently working my trade with titanleon as well. College-wise, this semester is looking good, although I'm pretty sure it's going to be a bit tougher than the last. However, the weather here has and continues to suck. I'd say we've got an unusual amount of snow this year and I'm tired of dealing with it. Bring on the spring!
Home for the Holidays
Posted 12 years agoI'm all done with finals, last semester went great! Of course, now is a time for relaxation and spending time with family, so I plan on taking it easy for these next few weeks. You all should too! :)
In other news, the comic I just put up basically pokes fun at my former fear of uploading adult content. Now, this doesn't mean that my future shit will be exceptionally naughty or anything, but I'm no longer afraid to "go there" and I will from time to time. DO NOT WORRY if that's not for you, as I WILL label such things appropriately so you won't see what you don't want.

Busy!
Posted 12 years agoI've been really busy, guys.... of course, most students are this time of year. I've been swamped with projects, and next week I've got finals. One thing's for sure, I can't wait until break so I can get drawing again.
Update...
Posted 12 years agoYou guys have probably noticed that I haven't done much in the line of comics for a while now. In all honesty, I miss working on them.
Since I've switched to using a tablet I feel I've improved my skills and productivity....and yet at the same time I feel it has derailed my ability to produce comics. There's just something overwhelming about drawing an entire comic on a computer, as opposed to a single image. At the same time, drawing comics the old fashioned way - with a pen and paper - doesn't achieve the quality I can get with a tablet.
I think my best bet at the moment is to keep trying to get into a rhythm that I can use to crank out comics like I used to.

For those of you who didn't know, Dragnet was THE crime investigation show of the 20th century. Nevertheless, I can almost guarantee you'll recognize the theme. ;)

Update!
Posted 12 years agoOkay so I guess I better update this damn thing! ^^'
Sooooo.... I've been so busy because I've been working full time. Just about every day I've come home too tired and discouraged to draw. That's all about to change, fortunately, as it is summer work and I'll be quitting soon.
A mindless job like mine has had its perks though. It's given me plenty of time to think of all sorts of crazy new ideas, reflect on what I've done, and so on. I've already made a few decisions/changes to some things....
...With only two pages out and one on the back-burner, I've FINALLY decided to do something about my main strip. I'm renaming "Slayer School" to "Tooth and Dagger". In addition, the concept of the comic will be inherently the same, but I won't lock on to a single story line (or certain character). In other words, it will just be a universe in which I can create all sorts of short-stories that I can tie into one another if I choose to do so. The reason for all this is so I don't become distraught with this strip. Structural freedom, baby.

I'm NOT Dead, it's just that....
Posted 13 years agoI think I need a break....
I'm telling the truth when I say I've been trying to actually get something accomplished here lately, but every time I've sat down to draw it has felt more like an obligation than an indulgence. I can't focus at all and it's extremely irritating.
On top of that are all sorts of outside distractions and concerns (oh reality ><), and the fact that this college semester will be wrapping up in the next couple of weeks.
I guess the whole "Slayer School" strip is also a bit more taxing then I thought. Several times I've considered just scrapping the idea. Fortunately, I do NOT plan on giving it up, as I feel I haven't gotten far enough with it to have run into a brick wall just yet. I just think I need some time away to let both my enthusiasm and ideas build up instead of simply dwelling on the fact that I'm stressed out.

Update 8/22/2012
Posted 13 years agoAnyone else keep losing their favorites and having to re-click them? I think it must be my browser or something.
ANYWAY...
Whereas I've been really busy getting back into the college mindset, I was able to write up somewhat of a script for the first few pages of "Slayer School". I'm 99% sure now this will be a running series.
Of course, I'm structuring this comic so your characters can make cannon appearances (through requests for now, but commissions/auctions whenever that department gets set up). Note that I will still draw entirely unrelated things when need arise, but this comic will serve not only as a more structured storyline, but as an official playground for all sorts of lovely vore-ish encounters and hilarious scenarios! :P
