General | Posted 12 years agoOh heeeeey everyone, how are yooooou? Obviously you're fine, so yay. I'm drawing a cool thing, it makes me happy. Ho ho ho.
Not today either!
General | Posted 13 years agoSorry kiddos, I've got a serious commission backlog. Maybe next Wednesday?
No Wednesday this Wednesday?
General | Posted 13 years agoSorry kiddos, brb New Jersey!
Drunken Free Sketch Wednesday?
General | Posted 13 years agoMm, the height of professionalism, I know. A friend was interested in the results of me doing one of my Free Sketch Wednesdays while plastered out of my mind, so I thought I'd post here and see if any of my followers/repeat customers are interested in... that.
If'n y'are, the only "tips" I'd ask for would go entirely to booze funding fer the stupid thing. All we have here is gin. I hate gin. It tastes like toothpaste, and sits in your stomach like toothpaste. We also have cooking sangria. Anywho, satisfaction would be 200% not guaranteed, because I'd be drunk drawing. Whadda y'all think? Free sketches are free, after all, and I guess I like mixing things up...

General | Posted 13 years agoJust a heads up, no FSW Christmas week! D: I haven't decided yet if I'll do one on January 2nd, but if I'm in town and my hand is healed enough and if I don't have a huge backlog of other artwork to do, I tooootally will.
To those of you who haven't gotten your sketches from this past Free Sketch Wednesday, all the ones listed as done will be uploaded around midnight tonight, and the remaining one will be finished as soon as the gross hand-swelling goes down (I promise!). Thanks for participating!

General | Posted 13 years agoNo free sketches this Wednesday, I'll be roadtrippin' up to Wisconsin (from Texas!) for Teslacon. You can ask for them anyway, if you want, and in my heart, I will draw them for you. (:
The only thing I learned from Darkwing Duck
General | Posted 13 years agoWas "No, you want the bad news first, because then the good news makes up for it."
So I always want the bad news first, good news second.

Free art from this dude!
General | Posted 13 years agoGinger water+free art, fcfs
General | Posted 13 years agoIs hella hard to make. The powder just sinks to the bottom. The sassy lady DID tell me to use FRESH ginger slices, though... ):
All of the slots are open, mans.
Colors of the Wind in French is muy bien.
Also, since HELPING a mime doesn't seem like a popular idea, would you want to kill the mime? I mean, I can draw that, too. I'm pretty friggin good at the grotesque. I'd feel bad, that's my friend, but I know he wouldn't mind, so.
So, first commenter gets a free finished sketch, commission scanned properly, no cell phone camera bs. Yeah. Yeah. That $15 thing. Because it's free, Free Sketch rule applies; Tell me what you want, buuuut I get to jack with it however I want. It might involve a mime, making it, like, a $25 thing. For free. Why is it free? Because I realized, this morning, that I am cursed, and I don't know how to lift it, also I have no examples of finished sketches in mah gallery.

Commission Information!
General | Posted 13 years agoI'm fast, fun, and drama-free, with a fresh and bright style! Note: Many of these payment options may not have examples yet, but I shall provide them soon (or else explain them better if you ask :D)!
~*How to StarCecil your life!*~
Step 1) Decide on a commission type you want (listed below) and the characters you want to be in the picture! Take caution, certain types of commissions cannot be altered later!
Step 2) Send me a note with the following information included, in no particular order:
- What Commission Type you want
- References for all characters included. Preferably pics, but if you don't have pictures, an in-depth description will do splendidly.
Step 4) I respond, and we work out all the details.
-Usually this step is short and sweet. Most of my questions will occur to me as I'm drawing the piece.
Step 5) I draw your commission!
-If you'd like to be able to check on my progress whenever you want, and/or if I have questions about your character, things will move much faster if I can get your phone number: I'll use it to take a picture of your art on my phone, and text it to you. My scanner access is limited, so I only scan your art when it's 100% complete. If you can't give me your phone number, then, when you have questions/want to check on the piece, I'll email the cellphone picture to myself and upload it here, but I have a very limited data plan. Your art, once begun, should be completed within 1-3 business days.
Step 6) Payment and Shipping
-I accept payment via PayPal at true_blue_3243 at hotmail.com.
-I accept cash payment in person at conventions; you can also get the original art from me this way! In order to choose this, the convention must be during the month that payment would otherwise be demanded. Original art can be obtained after any (reasonable) span of time, however. It's likely just going to sit in a box somewhere otherwise.
-Shipping your original art is completely optional and up to you, I just ask for $5 extra to cover shipping fees. If you decide to ship your art after your original payment has been sent, I will ask for $7, to offset the fees Paypal charges per transaction.
ABOUT STARCECIL: What I do for you is what I do for a living; I am an artist. Art pays my rent, it puts food in the fridge, and because of this, you will never get less than the best I have to offer you. I love what I do, or else I wouldn't do it.
REFUNDS: If you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, we will alter the art up to three times to suit your needs. Otherwise, you will have our deepest apologies, and we will offer a 30% refund on unalterable purchases.
~*FABULOUS ART*~
With the exception of requests made on Free Sketch Wednesdays, which are done digitally on occasion (see my Scraps for examples), StarCecil is a traditional-art-only artist, and all commission options are for traditional art.
"Unfinished" Sketch
(example)
Unfinished sketches are sketches that could theoretically be inked by myself or another artist later on. Similar to lineart, but sketchy, and on sketch paper, which is a low-weight paper intended for sketching.
-They are uncolored.
-$10 for full body, $5 for waist-up, additional $5-10 for sketched background, depending on complexity.
-Additional $5 for each extra character after the first.
-Up to six characters.
-Can be altered.
"Finished" Sketch
(example)
A finished sketch is a pencil drawing that cannot be traditionally modified later on. It is a finished, shaded piece. It is also done on sketch paper.
-Uncolored
-$15 for full body, $10 for waist-up, additional $10-20 for lovely, shaded background, depending on desired complexity.
-Additional $15 for each extra character, after the first.
-Up to six characters.
-Can be altered.
Lineart/Inks
(example)
The words "lineart" and "inks" mean the same thing, and both refer to a picture that has committed itself to its image, in pen-blood. There is no turning back.
-Can use colored ink at commissioner's request.
-$20 for full-body, $15 for waist-up, additional $10 for background, depending on complexity. Note: StarCecil does not ink certain backgrounds, and instead skips straight to coloring them, for a more watercolor-y feel. It looks much better, we promise, and will definitely let you know if your background could fall under this category, should there be a possibility of your commission advancing to coloring stage.
-Additional $10 for each character after the first.
-Up to six characters.
-The Point of No Return.
Colored Images
(Tentacle Lady, $45) (Discord $50)
StarCecil uses 80+ Copic markers to complete her works after first inking them and cleaning up the lines, and the result is art full of light and bright colors. While darker works can be accomplished, her medium is better suited to lighter, more colorful pieces.
-Extremely colorful.
-$35 for full-body, $20 for waist-up, additional $10-50 for background, depending on complexity and darkness.
-Additional $20 for each character after the first.
- Up to six characters.
-Cannot be Altered except to be made darker, which may muddy the color. Request at your own risk!
Quirks
Free Sketch Wednesdays
(NSFW)
Put in a request for a sketch on a Wednesday by commenting on the "FREE SKETCH WEDNESDAY" ad that StarCecil posts, usually around noon or so. Usually only three slots, gotta be fast!
-IT'S TOTALLY FREE, MAN!
-No refunds.
Mermaid Fursona
(example)
Who doesn't love mermaids? Order your character to be drawn as a mermaid, and get $5 off any pricing above! (Character is considered "full-body")
-Multiple characters OK, $1 off per.
Wad of Ones
(example)
Don't quite have the dough for the art your heart yearns to attain? Sate your desires with a sample!
-Note me with desired commission type and subject, as normal, but include how much money you're willing to spend. Whatever fraction of the normal price you offer is the fraction of the prefered image that I will draw!
-Warning: The rest of the image will be filled in with subject matter entirely of my choosing, usually mythological creatures. It could be really fun, you know. ;D
Icons
(example)(also, my icon!)
-Can-do! Pricing varies, usually only $5 whether it's sketched, inked, or colored, 'cause it's itty bitty!
Reference Sheets
-Probably not, as traditional art isn't the best suited(FURsuited, hah!) for these things, but we can discuss it over Note!
Pornography, both Soft and Hardcore
(example)
StarCecil doesn't wanna draw porn anymore.
-$10 my-roommates-will-make-fun-of-me fee, any commission type.
-Tasteful nudity is not porn and will not get this charge! For tasteful nudity, see: Greek Sculpture, Michelangelo's David, etc.

Since We've Been Wrong
General | Posted 13 years agoI found an older work of mine the other day, a really beautiful piece that I'm still very proud of. Hopefully I'll get it scanned for you all today, it's really my favorite work, even a couple years later. It's withstood that odd test of time where an artist looks back and goes "Augh, old work! Look at all the errors I made!" which amazes me. When I'd drawn it, I'd meditated on it for days at a time, I drew dozens of pre-sketches, and every stroke of the nib, every shade of ink, everything was purposeful, harmonious, intense. It was a certain song that I'd loved, and still love, put to paper.
I'd like to try putting a song to paper again, since it was so rewarding the first time, but I need another song that wraps around my head and my heart like that one did. You know what kind of song I'm talking about. Even my favorite song in the whole world doesn't do that anymore. Still, I take comfort knowing that it's only a matter of time before a new song gains the power to possess me artistically and color my soul with passion and remnants of a holy blessing from ancient Euterpe.
Anyhow, commissions are still open. :)

Mermaids are great
General | Posted 13 years agoMermaids are great and pretty and I like to draw them. Would you like one of your characters as a mermaid? 'Cause I'd draw that. Hit me up, brahs.
Hi again!
General | Posted 14 years agoHowdy ya'll! I'mma be on here a little more often, alrighty? It'll be hard, because I don't actually have internet at my apt, but I'm gonna try! Tootles! Shoot me random requests, too, 'cause I'll probably do them.
Furry Fiesta anyone?
General | Posted 15 years agoHey, there's a chance (CHANCE) I might be sellin' my wares (steampunk shit, not drawings, unless you ask. :P) at Furry Fiesta in two weeks! No guarantees, mind you, but I was just wondering how many of you guys will be there. Hit me up with a comment. If everything works out, drop by the booth and say hi. I don't bite, I just make smartass remarks. :D
LOCO DEALSONEONE!
General | Posted 15 years agoHey, I'm the brokest gangster this side of the nets! Jay mighta toldja a few months ago, I do commissions. But guess what else.
I DO DOLLAR SKETCHES, TOO. Which are ALSO commissions!
You know how you can get free sketches on Wednesdays? Well, every other day (and Wednesdays, too), you can commission a one-dollar sketch. The difference is that a dollar sketch is done traditionally (Pen n' paper), is colorless, and will probably make you laugh, though I can do a "serious" dollar sketch, if you want.
Why would I only charge a dollar for my hard work? How can I possibly expect to make any money at all that way?
Well, you see, I make and sell steampunk accessories at conventions for a living, and February is looking to be a really slow month for me. I don't know if I'll be able to pay the bills, and my brake line needs fixin'. :/
Spare some change, amigos? I accept PayPal.

Hello everyone!
General | Posted 15 years agoHowdy ya'll! I'm a 20-year-old steampunk Texas girl, pleased to make your acquaintance. while we're being honest, I'm not really a furry either, but I seem to get a lot of furry customers, so I thought I might as well make an account here and cater more to you guys. I'm working on getting more stuff uploaded, but as you can see so far (I hope) I really have a more psychedelic style. You can commission whatever you want, I assure you, I've drawn weirder.
ON THAT NOTE, STUFF AH DON'T DRAW:
1. Hahaha! Basically any fetishes. I'm evil.
2. Hetalia, but I don't think I'll have that problem here. I really hate Hetalia.
There are SOME fetishes that are okay, like, uh... Well, try me. The worst I'll say is "Nah, but thanks."
STUFF AH LUUUUUUV DRAWING:
1. Modern takes on renaissance masterpieces.
2. Rainbow colors EVERYWHERE
3. FLOWING CAPES
4. Trippy thingsss! And flowers!
I'm a traditional artist, so that means I don't do digital art, except on Wednesdays. I do free sketches every Wednesday, but they're done with my finger in Photofiltre on my laptop's touchpad. Now that that's out of the way, pricin'!
$10 Sketch
$15 Inks (B&W)
$20 Colors
Flat rates! CraaaAAAaaAAzzzZZZyyyYYY~~!!! That means YES YOU CAN have multiple characters, YES YOU CAN have a sort-of background (I'm not MADE of marker ink!), YES YOU CAN have, uh... whatever else? Try me! :D
Payment is half now, half when you get it. Satisfaction is highly probable. All sales final. I do not ship originals unless you really, reeeeeeally want them. Free sketches every Wednesday, the only requirement is that you show the sketch to five friends. Posting about it in your journal is not an acceptable substitute.
