Anti-thievery stuff
General | Posted 19 years agoSince I had my plates stolen from my car, I had to go down to the DMV to get new one's. It cost me 17 dollars and 45 minutes in line.
For all of you drivers, I would reccomend you go down to your local hardware store and pickup some allen or torx head stainless steel screws. They only cost me .33 cents per, and another .40 or so for the allen tool (more for the torx of course).
Now it will be a lot harder for a passerby plate thief to snag them.

25th Birthday.
General | Posted 19 years agoI've finally turned 25, on the 22nd of June.
<Ben Stein> yay.
Unfortunatly, I was down with strep throat and heat exhaustion. I got a Lumbar Puncture for my birthday (they thought I might have menengitis.)
The last two weeks have been pretty crappy, but at least I got to go to the top of the mountain above Sylmar for part of my Annual Training. I was also able to replace the headliner in my car, which was saggy. 12 bux for new headliner material at Jo-Ann's, ~20 for the 3M super 80 spray adhesive from Home Depot, and ~3 bux for the Torx bit I needed to get the seatbelt thing off.

A New Idea and A New Used Car!!
General | Posted 20 years agoI'll start off about the car I'm getting. It's a 1988 Pontiac Fiero 'Formula' model, with a 2.8L V6 and 217.5 thousand miles on it. (Don't worry, this one's not gonna catch on fire!) Replaced the battery, rotor, dist. cap, wires, plugs, oil, oil filter, and it passed smog with colors!
Some problems with it: headliner is falling, heater core rusted out and had to be bypassed, AC compressor failed, needs new paint, speakers, radio, front tires, and transmission repair.
As for my idea: I found a box filled with a bunch of crap from when I went to elementary school. All kinds of old art projects. I'm gonna post them all here!!!

Made it home!!
General | Posted 20 years agoWOOOOOO!!!!! I am *FINALLY* back to California!
It's been an exceedingly long year in the great asshole of the world (Egypt).
And I will mark this as my six month anniversary of having known of FA. I first found this great site when I was on a trip to Eilat, Israel. The hotel I stayed at had the best internet connection that I knew that year, and I stayed put in the lobby for upwards of 8 hours at a time, having food and drink brought to me. I did get a chance to go snorkeling in the beach in front of the place. IMHO, the better place to snorkel was the beach on post, on the southern tip of the Sinai peninsula where I was for the year.
By the end of this week, I will have my website back up and running, and on it I will have a photo gallery (real and personal photos only, not artwork (that belongs here ;) ) I took a lot of pictures there. I have some good pictures of the sunrise/sets, town, the mountains, the road, other vehicles, Jerusalem, etc.
I'll upload a few here now that I'm on a decent connection!!

Very Busy!
General | Posted 20 years agoThe last few days have been very busy, and will continue to be so for at least another week.
I am finally back to the United States, and it is so great to be able to go anywhere I want and (almost) whenever I want. I rented a car.
The flight was a horrenous 16 hours, with a 45 minute stop in Shannon Ireland. We got to check out the airport for that time, but no more. It was dark during the whole flight. Fortunatly, I had some night vision goggles to check out the scenery outside. There's a first time for everything, and so with night vision. This thing could pick out stars that I couldn't even see, and I could see traffic and places where you wouldn't believe!
Anyways, I'm staying at Fort Lewis, in Washington. After this I'll be flying back to LA, hang out in SoCal for about 5 hours, then head back home to Arroyo Grande.

HomeComing!!
General | Posted 20 years agoIT'S FINALLY TIME!!
Within the week I will finally be coming back home to the United States. I go to Fort Lewis, Washington, then I go back to California about a week later, and I am off my first deployment as Active Duty with the US Army. Heh, I'll be able to get my website back online finally.

Beware the Dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide!!
General | Posted 20 years agoWhat is Dihydrogen Monoxide?
Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colorless and odorless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the unstable radical Hydroxide, the components of which are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.
What are some of the dangers associated with DHMO?
Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment. Some of the known perils of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:
# Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
# Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
# Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
# DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
# Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
# Contributes to soil erosion.
# Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.
# Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.
# Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
# Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
For much more information, and to join the Coalition to ban DHMO, check out :

My current usericon
General | Posted 20 years agoIt is just a pic of my Company Commander (I'm in the US Army).
I'm going to be coming back home to California late January. I've been on deployment at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula since Jan05. (Yes, right between where the bombs went off in Sharm-el sheikh and Nama Bay July 23rd).
