Also, for anyone wondering whether they should do either Mastodon or blue sky, since I've been using both for a little while now, They both have their strengths and weaknesses. Mastodon gives you an ungodly almost 4,000 character limit in a post so you never have to worry about running out of space. BS has I believe a lower limit than even Twitter. Mastodon just comes off as a little more complicated at first, and you definitely should not join the central instance. Meanwhile BS only has one instance you can join.
BS is definitely still in beta, and I think the app is just a wrapper for the mobile website. Mastodon has a ton of third party apps that are pretty good. (Using Tusky here).

Another big difference is you can edit your posts in Mastodon, While you can't in BS.

I'm pretty much going to be using both because there's some artists I follow who are only on one or the other.

In addition to my Mastodon, I've now got a Bluesky account. Seems there's a lot of furs going there because it's perceived as less complicated than Mastodon so I figure I'll be on both sites.

So today it was my turn to get the pop-up saying I need to change my username on discord. Startide was taken, So just a heads up if you get a message or a friend request from anyone on discord with the username Startide, it's not me. The name I ended up snagging was startide1.

So far it seems mastodon is more active. I don't think cohost even has a mobile app yet. I really don't like the decentralization model of Mastodon but it looks like more people have been going there than the other. I'm not really going to be all that active on either until I know for sure if Twitter is actually going to collapse. Mainly squatting my username on both sites for now.

Most of you probably know by now about a certain macro bat getting caught making really horrible posts in an alt-right furry chat. I've got probably a half dozen or more commissions in my gallery that involve him and it feels insensitive to keep them up in light of everything. So I'll be removing any art I have with Aerys in a day or two.

So there’s going to be a weekend-long festival at Bluebonnet, the nudist/naturist resort I go to in late September hosted by YNOTU, the North Texas young nudist group. (Young being anyone under 40 since these nudist resorts’ memberships tend to skew towards the retirement age) I’ve had a few people here on FA show interest when I posted about the nudist meet I hosted at TFF so I figured I’d mention this here.

The YNOTU festivals have a feel kind of like those furry camping cons minus fursuits (or clothes of any kind, lol). Usually lots of outdoor activities and games, water volleyball tournaments, bonfires, and last year they had an inflatable water slide and an AV setup by the pool at night with music and lighting effects. There’s also a bit of drinking, but you don’t have to partake if you’d prefer to stay sober. They are really good about not peer pressuring anyone into drinking.

The dates are Friday Sep 20 through Sunday 22, and iirc the fee to get in if you’re just tent camping is pretty cheap. Can’t remember it off the top of my head though. Anyone interested feel free to reply here or send a note. (I may have tent space since I'm bringing two tents, but a couple friends I invited already haven't yet been able to commit just yet so I don't know how many open spots I'll have.)

This seems to happen at every con I'm at. I'll be walking along a hallway and someone passes me and waves and says hi in a way that means that we probably know each other, but in the moment I can't remember who they are. Sometimes it's someone I met at a prior con, others it's someone I may have met earlier at the con and just had a total brain fart and can't place the face to the name.

To the guy with the blue tail that passed by me on C level near the elevators at BLFC sunday, I wasn't ignoring you, I was just being a derp when you waved and I can't place your face. Sorry 'bout that ><

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. I'm having mine tomorrow since I was out of state working through the holidays. Already opened presents my mate's mom sent us. Got a biiiig warm blanket, homemade soap that smells really good, and a Mexican Train domino set (we play that a lot at the nudist/naturist campground. It's fun and crazy.)

My mate got me a bigger laptop bag since mine is coming apart at the seams, too. Tomorrow I'll go to mom's and do my family gift exchange with her and Grandma.

Looking forward to New Year's Eve, too. Gonna see if the local liquor store carries a certain beer from Munich I love, and have a naked NYE hangout at my place. :3

So I decided to try out this new furcon on the San Antonio Riverwalk. It turned out pretty nice, even though my mate and I were only able to go Fri-Sun. Saturday was pretty much our only full day, since most of Friday was driving, and we had to check out Sunday morning. Got to explore the Riverwalk, and do a little suiting (not as much as I'd have liked, since my back and feet started hurting. I'm hoping I can rectify some of the pain issues by putting some heel-reinforcing inserts into the fursuit feet.)

Did my usual foodie thing and went with some local friends to various nearby restaurants. Really good Ramen, Italian, and taco places within a few blocks. Also lots of architecture to photograph.

The con's attendance came pretty close to beating BLFC's record for largest first year con attendance, but didn't quite make it. Still, 700+ for a first year is pretty damn good! Hope to see this con grow, especially since it's one of the few in driving distance.

Well, weekend. Apparently there's a character limit in titles.

Anyhoo, my mate and I went to our first nudist/naturist resort finally, and we both enjoyed it a lot! I actually liked it more than a lot of furcons I've been to, and am going to try to get a membership at this particular resort and go camping there every month.

There was a huge group there over the weekend running their own events (they have like 4 events a year there) and so there was a lot of people. Played lots of water volleyball, did a lot of swimming, and socializing, and got to watch the last wolverine movie projected onto the side of a U-Haul trailer with a high end projection and sound system while sitting around a bonfire. I also learned bonfires are good for chasing off mosquitoes.

Only thing I didn't get to do was hike the trails in the woods, since a particularly bad storm washed out the trails.

I love being naked outdoors quite a lot, and it was great to spend the whole weekend nude outside without worrying about run-ins with cops, lol! Wished I'd have tried out these places years ago when I was younger. But it's never too late to try something new.

Cancelling Megaplex due to expense of flying both myself and  Mr.Huggles to and from Orlando. Instead, I'm taking him to a new con in San Antonio in October. It's only a half day drive so it will be much cheaper to get to.

I'm still going to BLFC, nothing has changed there :3

I'll definitely be at BLFC, and most likely at Megaplex if I don't cancel. I wonder who all is going :3

Don't believe anything you read today.

So, am curious. How many of you are into naturism/nudism? Swimming naked, hiking/camping naked, or even just socializing and hanging out with friends at home naked while playing games or watching cat videos on YouTube? Just enjoying being nude for the sheer feeling of freedom of the breeze blowing or water flowing across your whole body.

Had a nice dream last night that I have once in a blue moon in which an orca meets me by the waterside and opens their mouth, inviting me in, and I crawl partway inside and grab their tongue like a pillow and hug it tightly while halfway in their mouth, and sometimes I fall asleep on it. That dream always elicits the most comforting feelings.

While I've seen a few good orca mouth art here, I don't believe I've ever seen any good drawings of people inside a large baleen whale's mouth, like a humpback or blue. Anyone here ever come across any good pics of someone flopped on a baleen whale's tongue? :3
