Where Did I Go? Where am I going?
General | Posted 6 years agoHello everyone! I've got some real good news. I landed a significant promotion at work recently. This is huge in the sense of career progression and it allows me to get back on my paws finally. Completed my first week and I love the pace and the work. Unfortunately right now we are right at the beginning of a release cycle so my free time is going to be very limited for a bit.
Bonus unfortunately, the last 15 months I've been dealing with a nerve, joint, muscle pain issue that makes things like drawing and painting a real REAL bad time. I've been getting better about managing it and hope to get back to painting again soon. For now, I'm still very definitely on hiatus.

The Status of Status Effect
General | Posted 9 years agoHey guess what! I moved to Austin, Texas a couple weeks ago. I'm all moved in and getting all situated. What this means for Status Effect: I now have more time to work on art and I am in an atmosphere where I can work on it without being constantly interrupted. Yay real life :/
And we're back
General | Posted 9 years agoSo, this is been an extremely rough period of time for me. Fortunately, things are starting to settle down. I've been able to cope with all the things that have occurred and I'm working towards getting all my ducks in a row so that I can freelance full time.
I picked up a job delivering pizzas at my local Papa Johns. Its unpleasant, but it gives me the stability and funds I need while I get everything up and running. Currently I'm working Fri-Sun then Mon-Thurs is all art time.
Hopefully I didn't lose too many people while I was out, but I look forward to all those new furs who want to see more of what I have to offer. Thank you those who sent good thoughts and positive vibes my way.

It has been 9 months
General | Posted 10 years agoSo, yeah it has been 9 months since I last posted here. Please allow me to bring you up to speed. As I had stated before, I had been dealing with depression and even was diagnosed with Major Depression. I have been addressing it, however life hasn't been too kind to me as of late. In the last two years I have suffered quite a bit of setbacks. A layoff, 5 family/friend deaths, two new diagnoses of cancer in the family, my own diagnoses of depression and diabetes, and now a divorce. My last three birthdays were celebrated with the layoff, a funeral, and a family death.
Now don't think I had forgotten about this account. The plan is still to fill out more of the bestiary/comic as well as some sequences and some one shots. I also wanted to bring 'choose your own adventure' style interactivity with some of the weight gain sequences I had thought up. This will possibly use Flash or Ren'Py.
I am sorry for the complete lack of communication. Please allow me to recover and get everything squared away.

Yeah
General | Posted 11 years agoDepression is kinda a funny thing. I've come to find out that getting better isn't so much a gradual ramp leading back to better days. Rather it is more chaotic with ups and downs.
Anyway, Issue 0 coming out. My anatomy needs work. Expect the complete issue out here soon along with some bonus one shots.
In other news, I want(need) a Cintiq Companion SO BAD. :3

Morale
General | Posted 11 years agoMy morale has been pretty awful as of late after getting punched in the gut about the quality of my work and whether or not I am good enough to work professionally as an artist while balancing many many things. One of these things that I've had on my mind was the ailing health of my grandfather who had another stroke last week and has passed away tonight.
Give me a few more days to get over my grandfathers death. While his suffering has finally ended, it still hurts. More art will come when I feel better.
Also, don't ever let people shit on you and your work. They have no idea what you are going through and what you have to maintain in your life. And don't waste your time explaining it to them, they don't care and will just consider it an excuse because it doesn't fit in their world. Nothing is one size fits all.

Bestiary
General | Posted 11 years agoAs Status Effect is set in an rpg, I wanted to supplement it with a Bestiary and Item/Magic/Curse/Spellbooks similar to those Handbooks you see out there for Pathfinder, DnD, and the like. These will not have any type of real stats with them and will just feature what each creature or item or whatever can do and it helps me iterate them as I come up with new things for our adventurers to encounter.
I've got quite a bit written down but I should pop out Issue 0 before I go too far with the Bestiary.

Up and coming
General | Posted 11 years agoHey guys! I guess I should probably put up a Journal post here so I can, you know, be more real. Anyway, I've got plenty of content right around the corner. I've just got to clear up my queue a bit. First up is going to be some kind of logo for the comic followed by a few more one-shot images and/or sequences, then Issue 0. Expect it to be very fattening and a little transformy.
