Hi everyone, I figured I should give a bit of an update since the last journal on my page is a few months old.

The most exciting thing happening right now is I'm finally, FINALLY, getting a new (main) computer. A desktop gaming rig that I'm building myself. With that in mind, I'm going to be up for a lot more gaming as soon as I get all the parts in and assembled. So, if you're a gamer too and want to be joined by a friendly dragon (who is a bit of a noob sadly) let me know! ^.==.^

Also, thanks to a suggestion from my roommate  Radjinwolf I'm toying with the idea of making an alt character. It would be a husky named "Hugger", based on the mascot of my elementary school mascot; we were the Hugger Elementary Huskies. It does sound adorable as he suggested, and it would have the added bonus that I could actually have higher hopes of getting a suit someday. There are a few awesome dragon suits out there, but overall they just aren't. Huskies on the other hand are super easy and not a problem to get.

The only hangup I'd have with making an alt is that it sort of conflicts with what furry means to me. I'm a therian, so my fursona is basically just me. It's the dragon I feel like I should be, and spiritually associate with, so it's not a "character" I assume. I would have a hard time adjusting to being a character instead of just being myself. I'll have to toy with the idea a bit more before I actually create the character. It may turn out to be that I just play Hugger as me as well, just more of my cute and silly side. So if you start seeing some cute, derpy, and happy husky art on my page, that's still me, just a new alt.

On different note, the next con I'll be attending is MFF. I can't wait to see a bunch of people there and I'm sure there will be a "Hey I'm going to MFF" meme going around soon, so you can get more details when I post that!

On Friday I finished my final final exam and I am now done with classes for undergrad. But! Now I have to finish my thesis in order to get my diploma, so that'll be what I work on for the next month or so. Also, my job search will be starting over this Christmas break as well.

Once the thesis is done I'll have earned my BS in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Bio-Chemistry. I'll hopefully find a job either by my home in Rochester or heading over to the Grand Rapids area. After working a few years I plan on applying for Medical school so I can become a doctor. I'm really excited for what my future holds (provided the world doesn't end on the 21st :P) and I'll be sure to keep you guys updated! ^.=.^

So FA is back! Well that's nice. You don't really realize how often you check a site until it's down. XD

Anyway, the other day in chat it was determined that I have to make a snuggle schedule because I have too many furs who want snuggles and not enough time! I'm crazy busy until the end of the term, but come the last week in September, I'll have a bunch of time! So...I need to make a plan of who I'm hanging out with.

Now please don't confuse this with "HEY I'M A GIANT WHORE". I just happen to like snuggles a lot and I have been massively lacking lately. While I'm looking forward to getting to hand out with cool guys like Panda and Rozzer who have already called spots, I really was hoping to get to see a few others as well. (Especially a certian skox)

Anyway, until snuggle fest happens, I'm going to be super busy with stupid amounts of homework, projects, quizzes, and exams. The last two weeks of the term are a bitch. I'm really just hoping I pass everything at this point as it's still questionable with a few of my classes.

Well that's my update for now. If you want on the schedule (and you live local XD sorry to my out of state friends) let me know and I'll make up an actual schedule somewhere. Probably Google docs or something...

So... I've been massively MIA lately, largely thanks to a massive project I had due for Plant Design (Senior Chemical Engineering Capstone for those of you not in the know). The last two weeks have been a mad dash to get it done since it was due at noon today. Last night I even had to pull and all-nighter to get it done. So much fucking work, you have no idea. I don't wanna hear art students bitching about "Oh, that's nothing, I have to do all-nighters all the time! You're just lazy". You guys have it easy because when you do all nighters I know that there's long stretches of time where you are doing fairly menial tasks, or it's all repetitive simple work. The WHOLE time I'm working on homework or a project, it's mentally taxing and very difficult. There's no lul where I can just plug away at something without thinking too hard, it's constant problems, problem solving, calculating, and planning. Now, I won't try to argue about who has to put in more work at the end of the day, especially in terms of sheer hours. Art students have that by a long shot. I just hate it when art students scoff at my work load solely based on number of hours and take no consideration to the mental taxation due to the content difficulty I'm working with. /end rant

On a happier note, this is long weekend. Our two days off a term, crammed on either side of a weekend to give us four glorious days off. (Too bad I had to spend my first one sleeping to recover from school... >.=.<) Anyway, I'm headed off to Youngstown OH for the weekend to go visit my old roommates and hopefully have a much needed break from the madness of school. Since I will be out of the state as well as hanging out with people and not lounging on the computer, I'll out of contact until Tuesday. Not that anyone really cares, but just thought I'd let anyone who was bored enough to read this know.

TL;DR VERSION:
I've been busy with school. I'm going away until Tuesday.

So Tuesday and Wednesday were a big 'ol fail session for me. First I realized that I forgot to pay my rent and had to rush a check over to the office. Then I was running late for going into work to give back my laptop and lose even more hope of ever getting my thesis done. (whole other story there) Then my physical chemistry report turns into a pot of fail because it wasn't working because our UV spectroscopy unit gave us crappy values because the prof didn't know what he was doing. The report didn't work at all because the numbers turned negative and they couldn't be negative...long story again. Anyway! I ended up sleeping for like 3 hours and the whole evening my two friends were telling me about how awesome the sex they were having was and that I was invited to come over, but I couldn't because I was working on the freaking lab report! Ahhhh!! Then the best part! I was running late and had to frantically hurry up to school to get to the lab (which I was 20 mins late to) had been canceled! (and I didn't know until I went looking for the class for 30 minutes v.=.v)

So after my massive string of failure I went back to my apartment and got lunch (first meal of the day) and put sheets back on my bed, took a shower (I'm a terrible person because it was the first one in 3 days and I hated myself for being so filthy) which felt AMAZING then took some very sleepy steps to slip into my fresh and clean bed and promptly fall asleep for the night at 6pm. It was nearly orgasmic. Then, this morning when I woke up at ~8:30a I still didn't want to get up yet and I laid in bed for half an hour, giving it a big hug, and confessing my love for it. I know I'm weird but it gets weirder. I then explained that even though I loved him, (yes I called my bed a him) his brother was better. I loved both of them, but his brother (my bed at home, which is an actually bed instead of an air-bed) was more comfortable and squishy. However, if his brother was here I would never go to class. So apparently I'm now in a semi-incestual polyamorous relationship with my beds. AND I AM PERFECTLY OK WITH THIS.

So I'm feeling a bit better now after getting to spend my Saturday with  pandaxcheese and Makoda (don't know your FA XP). We got some great talking time in, moved wood (I sort of showed them up....sorry! Also, moved large sections of a 100' tree off a trailer, wearing nice clothes and flip-flops and managed to not get dirty at all. I'm pro ^.=.^) We also went and saw "The Amazing Spiderman" which I'll talk about in a second. Then we had mediocre Chinese buffet time and finally a very strange night, which was spent snuggling in the back of my car... defiantly a first for me. Not complaining though cause getting snuggle time was awesome and helped my mood a lot, but being stuffed into a car for that long didn't do wonders for actual sleep. XD I also got to experience Denny's for the first time in years this morning, and it's just as terrible as I remember! :D I don't know what you people in New York are talking about, but here, and most other places in the country, Denny's is pretty much the worst place you can go for food and is only still open because they never close. (it's like a pun or something, but seriously the 24-hour thing allows the drunk people to come in and stuff their face at 3am and keep the lights on in the joint.) Last thing was driving home for an hour and flopping down in bed to crash for several hours. Overall, a good day with good people! :D I would have liked if Zigmafa could have been there, but he wouldn't have enjoyed it. We would have just had WAY too much fun breaking his mind and he would have had to flip ALL the tables. ^.=.^ It would have been great!

As for a short review of "The Amazing Spiderman", in short, it was pretty bad. I say that as not being a fan of comics, or any of the other Spiderman movies, or any of that. Just as far as plot, and consistency, and the shear level of what I like to call "fake science", the movie was just too many flaws to be recommended.

I won't make any spoilers, but what I mean as far as consistency, there were several scenes where there had clearly been SEVERAL takes and props and makeup would change DRASTICALLY. For example, in one scene, Peter is in the science company building and he is seen walking in with his skateboard. Then from camera angle to camera angle the skateboard appears in his hands, then disappears, clearly someone forgot to give it back to him before they shot the next 5-6 seconds of dialog. That's just poor. Things like this happened in several scenes, things would be different from shot to shot, and it wasn't like small things either, it was fairly obvious. Also, there were portions that had clearly been changed in edited because he would walk into a shot after a fight scene in which he took NO DAMAGE and have a black eye somehow.

The poor plot comment came from the fact that most of the movie was rather predictable and they seemed to change the rules for Peter from one point in the move to another. In one fight, he's basically god moding against some guys and is untouchable. Later, in a similar situation, he struggles to stay alive. Additionally, he seems to forget some of his powers from fight to fight, leaving a situation that could have easily been solved to a life and death struggle because he "forgot" he could do something. (Prime example is towards the end, and it's not really a spoiler, but he's falling over the edge of a building and he could just grab onto the glass with his "spider-grip whatever" but noooooooo, he's got to act like he's out of options and wait for "someone" to help him) Also, to add drama they try to make it looks like his plight to get to the, "final boss" I'll call it, he somehow can't manage to do ANYTHING, he just like craps out, then when he gets to the fight, he's all back to "full power" and ready to go. Finally, a lot of the major plot events didn't seem to follow any sort of normal logic, there was no reason for the characters to act as they did and it was VERY forced.

Finally, the "fake science". Now I understand that it's a fantasy movie about non-real things, but that doesn't excuse just putting a bunch of greek letters together and calling it an equation, or making up random shit about chemistry and biology, or screwing with physics. It's really difficult to go see a movie that contains anything of the sort as a scientist or engineer and be able to just ignore stuff like that. In the past two Marvel comic movies I've seen (this and The Avengers) there was way too much "fake science" to just ignore. Whether it's the "smart people" in the movie talking about "fancy science" that they assume most of America won't understand and therefore it doesn't matter if it makes no sense (even assuming stuff the technology for such things are there), OR physical things happening that shouldn't be, like cars flipping unrealistically, or blowing up for no reason. Prime example in this movie was at one point a car is hanging from one of this webs and randomly it decides to catch fire. There's no reason that would happen given the situation! It's things like that which are used simply to create more tension or difficulty in a situation for the hero that pretty much just piss me off and make me lose interest mid viewing. Another part that pissed me off was in one of the fights, the bad guy, who is some sort of chemist-ish-thing has thrown Spiderman though a chem lab, and just grabs two random flasks of various colored liquids and after half a second of looking at them decides that he knows what they are and that when mixed they will explode, so he throws them and they blow up. I shouldn't need to explain why that makes NO SENSE and really couldn't be more ridiculous.

Anyway, that's enough ranting about how bad Spiderman was...The important thing is that I had an awesome day with two awesome furs yesterday and I'm already feeling quite a bit better! ^.=.^

So, in short this past week sucked.

~13 hours of sleep from Tuesday morning to now (Friday afternoon) and I managed to miss a quiz today cause I accidentally fell asleep. >.=.< Basically I had a lab report, the first of my senior capstone projects, and the quiz all due this week, and there was lots of work and very little sleep involved. So basically, at this point I really wanna pass out, but I need to stay up so I don't throw off my sleep schedule too much. This is the sort of thing I usually see at midterms and finals, but I guess this term is going to be filled with them. I guess that's what I get as a senior chem eng student.

I also recently started having car troubles, and while they aren't too serious, I'm a bit worried since I don't have bunches of money to spare for repairs. I'm really hoping it's something small that I can fix myself, but knowing my luck, it won't be.

In other news I have had the realization lately that I am in serious need of snuggles. I've been feeling very lonely recently and while part of it is the "living alone" thing, I also feel like I really want more than friends at the moment. And of course, as anyone who's been through the "longing for a mate" phase will tell you (and has told me) this is the worst time to look for one because you will look over plenty of flaws in an effort to simply find someone, anyone, to jump into a relationship with. So, going with that I'm just going to be using my inner Brit and keep a stiff upper lip about the whole thing.

On a more positive note, tomorrow should be fun as I will be heading back out to Port Heron to hang out with Panda and a furry friend of his (who's furry name I don't know XD) for the day. Social time is fun time!

Sorry for a really negative journal, but I'm sort of in a mildly depressed head space right now, and it's just going to take me a while to get out of it. I'll try to remember to post something more positive soon.

So I started back to my second to last term of college last week and so far I'm not doing great... Mostly it's just that I'm not back in the swing of doing things yet. The work load doesn't seem to be too bad as long as I stay on top of it, and I should even have enough time to pull off a part time job on the evenings and weekends.

As far as the furry part of my life goes, I've got several commissions on the way that I'm very excited for. So look forward to those when they're completed. I also got a new icon as you can see, so that's fun too. I'm happy that I'll be getting to hang out with the local Flint area furs more now that I don't have roommates questioning where I'm going all the time. On top of that, it'll be nice to meet some of the furs from the MiFur chat that I haven't had a chance to yet.

Last, but far from least I would like to send out my love and support to a friend who's going though some really hard times right now. Rozzer, I don't know if you'll see this, but I hope everything turns out for the best.

Anyway, I figured since I'm trying to be more active on here, I should probably update now and again, yeah? Now off to get noms! Hungry dragon is hungry! O.=.O

In furry news: I'm sort of looking for an artist to do a commission or two for me and a friend or two. I recently got to hang out with a few local furs for an impromptu meet as well as go to a full local meet to hang out with a bunch of furs I don't know who don't use the MiFur (Michigan Furs) chat, and both of those were pretty awesome. ^.=.^

In relationship news: I have a fur who I have a crush on but long distance stuff sucks, so there's not much happening there for now. :< (He know's who he is) Also I just recently managed to remove a toxic relationship from my life and without going into any details I will simply say that it's best for all parties involved.

In personal news: I'm looking for/finding an apartment over the next few days for my last 6 months at school. I had been looking for a room mate (with a preference for a furry one) to no avail. So I will be living alone in the Flint area from July to New Years. Living alone won't be that bad considering I'll be busy with school and hopefully hanging out with local furs a bunch! Also it should give me enough free time to be more productive with my writing (as if...).

In school/work news: I am finishing up my last co-op term for school now and my Thesis project is in crunch time. I'm nervous because I now have two weeks to do about two weeks of testing. And for anyone who works anywhere in industry knows, nothing ever just works with no problems, so if something else happens I'm screwed. Thankfully I think most of my issues happened before testing even started.

So overall I'm doing good, just a bit stressed.

Hello all you random furs who are reading my very first journal! I've been lurking around here for quite a while now and until just now I've never had any content on my page, but guess what! There's finally art of me!! Oh yes! I'm not some just crazy imaginary dragon form in my own head, but I'm on the internet now, so I must be real.

The short and sweet version of the story is we commissioned the amazing Ishiga-san to make an image of the two of us while we were still together, but since he takes quite a while to complete his work, we have since broken up. Differences aside, Kyrish is a dragon of his word and promised to allow the image to go through. We are still trying to be friends, so it's not like it's a terrible situation anyway, but letting the commission go through to completion was pretty awesome of him when he could have just as easily told me to go suck a bag of dicks.

Anyway, in other news, Ishiga also had to do a study of my character for the commission and in the process I requested he turn it into a full pin-up image, which I expect will be on the way in the near future. That will hopefully be able to be posted on my own profile, so I won't have to link you away next time. Once that's done I can finally start buying commissions as I will FINALLY have a ref image! *squeals in delight* I'm a very happy dragon tonight.
