At any rate, I'm going to be trying to bring this gallery back up to date with the commissions I've been taking over on twitter the last couple years that I never got around to uploading and I'll be trying to stay more on top of it now that things aren't quite as dire.

I recently got around to launching a ~Patreon~ for anyone who'd like to support my work! For as little as $3 a month you get access to warmups and studies, for $5 you can view full resolution versions of my art. For $10 you can vote on prompts, and for $15 you can even make suggestions on what I should draw! There's even a limited tier that guarantees a sketch every month!

I'm very much looking to expand and refine the offerings available moving forward, and would be interested to hear feedback!

I've always tried to maintain a quick turnaround and low prices, as well as always trying to finish one queue completely before taking on any new work, however, after struggling recently to maintain the kind of output I've expected of myself for a while now, I'm realizing that when I established this system at my current prices, some five or six years ago at this point, my work flow and skill level were significantly different than they are now, and putting out a fully inked and coloured piece in a week is simply no longer a reasonable expectation.

However, neither is sitting on 2-5 commissions at $45-$60 apiece for a month at a time before accepting anything new. As such that brings me to the point of this journal, outlining some of the changes I'll be making.

First off, instead of the five slots I normally open for and then lock down until completed, I'll instead be opening for up to around 10, and will try and maintain around that many in a running backlog, with the simplest pieces with the fastest turnarounds taking priority so I can focus more on the quality of higher tier pieces. I will probably look into a Trello to keep this backlog as transparent as possible.

As for prices, Coloured pieces will see a $15 USD increase, bringing Coloured Sketches up to $60 USD and Polished Pieces up to $75.

I realize this is reaching the higher end of many people's budget so I am also opening up two new budget tiers and a flexible system to still allow people who want higher tier pieces to get them while not breaking the bank:

Uncoloured sketches will be $25 per character, while Uncoloured inks will be $35


If you get an uncoloured piece and later decide you would like to upgrade it to its higher tier variant, I am more than happy to accommodate at the cost of the difference!

It's been a long while since I posted anything here and I just wanted to give a general update on things.

This year's been terribly hectic as my mother went in for major surgery on her back in February and I've basically just spent the last ten months playing catch up with finances and all kinds of other fun stuff so haven't had much time to work on personal art or officially open for commissions, and when I have, it's generally been via twitter, and the large majority of the commissions I have gotten have been more appropriate for my alt account which is why there's been very little content posted here lately.

With things finally calming down coming into the new year I hope to start being able to work on personal art a bit more freely and frequently so hopefully I'll have more stuff in the coming months!

Hiyo, all!

I've been pretty quiet here lately, as you've probably all noticed. Been a bit more active on twitter (@steampossum), though have stepped a bit away from that recently as well to focus more on myself and my art as I've intended to do for quite some time. Expanding into new mediums outside of digital and refocusing my efforts into polishing up on fundamentals I'd been letting slip, as well as just generally maximizing the mileage I get out of drawing so I can come back stronger than ever.

Now this isn't to say I'm done here, by any means. I've still got some more recent commissions I've had sitting in folders which I'll get around to posting... sooner or later, and I'll still take small batches of sketches from time to time (generally through twitter) until I feel I've reached a point where I'm comfortable taking larger batches of more complex pieces again. Who knows, I might even start streaming again since I've been kinda missing that.

At any rate, I just wanted to let you all know where I've been and what I've been up to and if you wanna keep up with me, twitter's usually the best place for it!

As I mentioned in my previous journal I had been considering raising my prices and general consensus was in favour and so after today, sketches now start at $30 per character, and polished images start at $40.

HOWEVER as a sign of my appreciation for the support you guys have given me, I'll be offering the first five slots at the old price, of $20/character for sketches and $30/character for polish!

Please note that payments are via Paypal or Google Wallet and I will not be accepting images with backgrounds beyond simple setting props (Flower pot, bed, couch, etc) at this time.

I'm currently considering tweaking my commission prices in the near future to fall closer in line with basic working wages, since I do pretty much do this for a living at this point

The increase wouldn't be massive - probably ~$10 or so, making sketches 30-35 USD and polish 40-45 USD - but I feel this would do a lot to help my financial situation and allow for greater freedom and security



Since this ultimately comes down on you guys, I wanted to get your feedback. Lemme know what you all think!

Disclaimers and other useful info:


Some complex pieces can take upwards of 3-4 weeks from the time they are started. and so in order to keep workflow moving and avoid backlog, sketches will almost always be given priority over polished pieces in the queue, and simple polished pieces will always take priority over those with multiple characters and/or complex backgrounds.

Sketches less than $30 USD are asked to be paid up front and generally do not include a preview of the rough sketch unless requested.

Polished pieces, and sketches equal to or exceeding $50 USD, may be paid either half up front and half upon approval of a rough sketch; or, if desired, entirely up front - up to $60 USD.

It's been a while since I've posted a journal just to kinda shoot the shit

First off I wanna say Hi and thanks to all the people who've followed me over the last squizillion months. How y'all doin'?


Second off, I'm pretty pleased to announce that after struggling for a long time with depression and attention deficit issues, I've finally managed to get help from a psychiatrist. Recently started my second week of medication for the depression and I can already see and feel the massive impact its had on my ability to focus and my overall mental wellbeing.

While that's fantastic for me, I'm sure it doesn't interest most of you. However, with the increased ability to not get distracted by household appliances hopefully that will mean more productivity and more art activity in the future. ~*~Yaaaaaaaaaaay~*~




Finally my third point: Seems things here on FA have been getting rocky once again, so while I don't foresee an immediate departure, I figure it's a good time to remind people where else I can be found:
