So I've taken to playing my 3DS during my lunch break. Sadly, I've about run out of Phoenix Wright games, and I don't feel like replaying Shantae and the Pirate Curse, A Link Between Worlds, or Bravely Default. Yet, at least.

It looks like a modern take on what openCanvas 1.1 was trying to do. More than 4 users, more than 4 layers. Share layers or lock them to a specific user. User accounts with permissions. And it feels like the drawing tools might be better, too.

I've set myself up a private server, and I'm excited to give it a try some time. ^^ So, I can't say it's the answer to our prayers yet, but I invite everyone to give it a look.

Then you should play FTL. It's a short but hard game, with high replay value.

Here's a short list of awesome things you can do (or have done to you, which is less awesome):
* Put out fires by opening the airlocks.
* Breach the enemy hull and let the crew die of asphyxiation.
* Teleport your own crew into the enemy ship.
* Disable shields and other systems with ion weapons.
* Re-route power from life support to engines (or from anywhere to anywhere, really. But who hasn't wanted to do that?)

Honestly, accounts rarely get hacked unless the service provider messes up in a big way, and then you tend to hear about it. Usually what happens is someone just leaves themselves logged in at an insecure location, and I'm too paranoid for that.

A few hours ago a friend came over with their computer. They'd botched a BIOS upgrade, and unfortunately, the BIOS recovery procedure wasn't working. Seems this is a common problem with Award BIOSes. The procedure involves booting off a floppy and running the flash utility, but it wouldn't boot.
But after several hours of messing around, I managed to get it working. How awesome is that, huh? :P I'm wondering if I should find a place to post what I did, in order to help people in the same situation...

Because both my sweetie  torachan and  norithics did this and it looked like fun ^^

That's subjective, but I think so :P

She tends to wear them on her face, or well.. her ears. No eyebrows, you see, so her species expresses itself by positioning its (large) ears

Yep, several, tho mostly in alternate realities. My favourites are roboStel, deer Stel, and bustyloli Stel :P
She does have the ability to change her form at will, however, in her main canonical version.

Nope, she's closer to a hero ^^;

Hm, well, I had this vague idea that -- due to having helped save Existence once upon a time -- Effiss the head Spectra might have taken an interest in her. His portfolio is Life and Good, but He's also quite mischievous, which might explain why Stelard sometimes gets herself into pickles... :P

She might have died once, but she isn't dead now...

Her parents crossed over to the Other Side when she was around 16 or so in her regular timeline, but not in all of them. And in some timelines she has Tora for her wife and a daughter called Cora. :)

Um... yeah, I think barely escaping as servants of the Neispectra blow up your home city and most of your species with it counts as tragic... :/

Time spent with Tora and her close friends.

Not really sure if I like Sonic Unleashed or not yet. It has its annoyances, chiefly among which how Sonic doesn't seem able in either form to turn on the spot; changing direction from north to south will involve a small movement north and either east or west, which may cause you to fall off a ledge if you're trying to, say, collect rings scattered around the circumference of a platform. The game just feels a little... clunky, and as usual since I played Sonic Adventure on a 50Hz PAL TV, Sonic moves too fucking fast.
Still, it's Sonic, and it's fun enough. Plus there's occasionally some amusing lampshading going on to deal with the weirdness of Sonic's world. The incident that prompted me to post this journal was one where, after completing a mission for a hot dog seller where I had to collect 100 rings, said sausage merchant marvelled at how Sonic was able to hold so many. 'Where do you put them?'
Where indeed? :P

So, it's stupidly late, and I've just finished inFamous a second time. Played through evil this time, and I have to say, the final boss fight is much more fun when you've had that extra bit of experience with the game. First time through I died like a million times, this time I didn't die once. All the dodging and tossing around of titanic powers made it like something out of anime; truly epic.

Anyway, superheros. I've never really got this genre of media myself. I'm not sure what it is, but something about them just annoys me. Previously I'd have guessed it was the nauseating amount of American patriotism that seems to go hand-in-hand with the genre, and that may still be true, but inFamous brought another point to light.

The main character is sometimes referred to as 'electric man' (or sometimes 'lightbulb man', depending on who is saying it). But he doesn't call himself either. He doesn't wear a lycra bodysuit with a bit 'E' on the chest, or any neon or bright colours at all. Most of the people on the street call him Cole, even; which is just as well seeing as that is his name.

I think maybe I could be interested if there were more stories like his. An ordinary person with extra ordinary abilities, who never dons a ridiculous spandex suit, and who lives in a world somewhat like ours; i.e. not full of other superheros and ludicrous villains.

... But probably not. :P

Braid is a beautiful, thought provoking game that everyone needs to play. NEEDS.
I should note, however, that I'm glad there are people on GameFAQs willing to analyse and explain the plot so I don't have to. :P
