Yea...
Posted 14 years agoI find the furry community holds less and less interest for me over the years, and FA especially has become an environment I hate.
I'm keeping the page simply to look through art and to be able to send notes as needed (though with all the recent drama I'm likely to keep notes to a minimum as well).

Furry Tattooists (Wonder how much hate/love this will get)
Posted 17 years agoSo I know very very few people bother to watch me (13 exactly, most of which are simply friends of mine- I don’t claim to have good art so I can’t say I care much anyway), but I figured for the few of you that do (and that may even pass this along to a few other people) that I would post this up anyway.
Any of you that went to MFF may remember a furry tattoo artist there, and any of you that were around me may remember be loudly exclaiming, while rather drunk, that looking at his art I dubbed him an artist I would never want to permanently mark me (though I must say being drunk I wasn’t near as nice about it).
Well rather recently I found a link by this artist showing tattoos done at MFF, all of which (save 1 odd (and poorly done in my opinion) Bass Clef thing (which I didn't even recognize till it was pointed out to me), and 2 random cartoonish characters) were rather crooked done paw prints. As such I commented (rather nicely in my opinion) that if any of these images (and ones on the table at MFF) were seen in a professional tattoo artist’s portfolio many people would likely avoid him as it all seems to be rather low quality.
Shortly thereafter the site went down for me, and when able to refresh I saw my comment was gone; I figured the deleted comment was an error due to the outage- Though when going to repost I found myself blocked by said user for giving what I considered creative criticism (and trust me I’m much nicer than many tattooist will ever be).
So in this light I’m going to make a suggestion to all: Avoid getting any tattoos from dbruin, as he seems either unable or unwilling to improve his technique, or to take any advices concerning putting very permeate marks on the bodies of others.
I’ve been involved in body modification (from your basic tattoos and piercings, on to scarification, flesh pulls, and suspension) for years now, and I have straight out told some artists that I believe their art is (and bluntly and as I said it before) “shit.” It’s simply how the business works, and blocking someone simply because they dislike your art I believe shows a lack of confidence in one’s own work, shows pure immaturity on the part of that individual.
While on the note of furry tattoo artists- I also must say I have a lot of respect for Fossil at this point as well for denying what he believes are impulse tattoos, and for having an interesting discussion in regards to the safety and basic good/bad idea of tattooing at furry conventions (without ever seeming to get offended by my ideas).
Oh and as an end note- I frankly don't care what you think of my ideas/opinions. We all have a back end, and no one's **** stinks any less.
