Drafting Desk set-up stuff.
General | Posted 7 years agoI feel like gushing about the fun things I am up to. It might appeal to artists most. I did lots of planning and decided to buy a drafting desk. I have it now and have been setting up my room for the last 2-3 days.
The reasoning behind it is I realized that there are two markets I can sell to with the same image! Regular commissioners, and high-rollers.
The idea is I draw as much commissions as possible in a sketchbook. Sell the scanned version only to my regular customers (helping keep commission prices low). Then when I fill up a sketchbook, I sell the entire sketchbook to high-rollers on a bidding website. The drafting desk also allows me to draw with real mediums without being all hunched over, which helps keep my back healthy long-term.
Do you draw? Got good ideas on bidding websites? For furry and anime art.
The streaming portion is not ready yet. I need a fast way to display references and chat with customers.

Go oldschool and buy some reference books for human/animal anatomy and art of popular series, remove the pages, then affix them to a tack board. Benefits: 700DPI magazine/book quality images. Cons: Having to buy art references and waiting for it to be delivered.
Go newschool buy a desk mount to swivel a color accurate monitor, then affix a monitor hood over it. Then go crazy and use speech recognition ask google for references. (probably overkill, i could mount a keyboard onto my desk above the art, then slide the desks together so i can use the mouse) Benefits: VAST materials and fast. Cons: extremely hit or miss on resolution.

General | Posted 7 years agoorder in the stream or through a note. Let me know what you want in a couple sentences, provide image refs if it is your character. If it is rule34/fanart let me know the character name and series. I draw as much as I can in 15 min. It's fun, it is fast. If you order offline, i'll draw it in around 24 hours. No edits!

Might not stream today
General | Posted 7 years agoI do not expect to stream today. I basically am going to see if i can switch over to physical art, but at the moment i do not have a way to stream it. So people can still order art, i just need to draw it offline.

I have an idea of offering physical doodles. If people cant afford it, they would still get the quality of physical work, but digital form. That way I can sell the original art to other people to make enough money.

✓ Sprucing up art stream so it is easy to tell when it's froze or not.
✓ Trying to find a countdown timer that stops when the art program is not in focus
✓ Seeing if there is a way to streamline pricing to hourly
✓ Finding a program to upload one art submission to multiple art galleries
I may get a music list
Let me know if you got ideas, strategies, or links to videos of streamers that got this stuff down pat.

i was gonna take a day off, then i tried played demon souls on the ps3. I think my controller is bugged, the weapon/shield keeps getting removed >.<, so precise play in a game that needs it is like impossible. whatever streaming.

I decided to remove the listing. I considered it carefully and realized that there might be copyright issues. Artists usually like their work in a very specific way, and that's fine... and cutting up graphic novels to re-purpose into something else to sell might annoy those creators. Though if i do sell single pieces of fan-art on etsy, I think it would be fine, so i may do that in the future.
I basically cut out the pages from graphic novels as evenly as I can, and you can use it to make art projects! Collages are pretty fun, and can come out pretty sweet looking.
I took 50 pages and taped it to a 36"x48" piece of cardboard, then mounted that on the wall. Here are a couple examples of how it turned out!

Anybody good at making music?
General | Posted 7 years agoI would like to buy a quick clip of original music. Something for a youtube series where I review anime. Probably something playful, might be neat if it sounds like j-pop.
I am looking for intro music at least. If it lasts 2-5 seconds that is fine. Slightly thinking about a longer 2 minute looping tune to play in the background.
I don't need an orchestra or something (i don't have that kind of money anyways), perhaps a midi tune.
