So... haven't really been around here in... two years or so... yeah... life and such...

Anyways, y'all know the reason I'm writing this. All that hack and attack stuff and such.

I've yet to decide what to do. But at the very least, I'm not going to delete this account. Best case scenario is that I'll just use this place as much as I've been doing so lately. If anything, I'll just use this place as the archive and default "safe spot" it seems to be for me as of late.

I've already made accounts for myself on other places in the past, and might do so for other sites in the future, if only to reserve my name on there for purposes. Catch me on those sites as well if you so wish. How and if I'll use them more than here is yet to be decided. But as always, I'm much more active on the twitter, where it's much easier to get my attention, if ever that's needed.

I'll keep an eye on what eventually happens with everything, but for now, I'll go back to lurking about and doing other stuff.

Con. Fun. Too much fun. Still exhausted from it.

Hard to remember some of the more memorable times and people because alcohol, but I'll give it a shot.

Got situated in the room with  artide. Met up with people. Good times.

Went to some panels, got pushed into buying  fuzzypaws at the fursuitor charity auction, got surprised by  nina_tokala at the dance for some reason. Crashed/got kidnapped/got invited to the Otter Party. Got attacked/humped by otters, then drowned in alcohol by  nevadafurry in order to forget that, but I remember! And I'll get you otters who know who you are! Especially  jazzotter for some reason!

I attempted to do a meet and greet. Let's never discuss that again.

More parties. More alcohol. More people that I can't remember their names that I wished I could meet with again. More stomach sickness that wouldn't go away for the latter part of the con. More soda that I should have gotten more of. Uh, that's it I think.

Let's do it again next year or so.

Anyways, been busy in these last few months. Work has jerked me around lots, but stability is coming back, slowly. Family has been the fountain of drama that it's usually been. Holidays went okay, but I'm glad they're over. Just too much work to make the food! Just busy busy busy.

Haven't had the time to go through my backlog here. So much backlog. Nearly 7000 submissions to go though from like 3-4 months away from here. So much stuff to catch up on. Oh well, that'll have to wait for another day. As always, it's much easier to get me on Twitter than here. Might get back on messengers more actively again since I actually have a usable phone again...and an unlimited data plan! Made it a New Years Resolution to get to connecting with people I've lost touch with lately. Oh, and also get back into the writing thingy that's been neglected for ages. I've been working on something that I hope to finish by next week, so keep an eye out on that, hopefully.

Been busy. Got a job. It's just some store stocking thingy, but it's something. Been dealing with family problems. They've been the usual fare, but just more intense lately. Well, busy, busy things lately. Moving next week. Still so much to pack with little time remaining, but on the plus side, my brother finally got rid of his puppy, so that's good. Other than that, normal, regular, usual life happenings are...happening.

Mmhm. That's basically it for now, so, uh...yeah...

Well, uh, small little update here before I get onto the crux of this thing I suppose. Everything's the same. Trying to find a job is difficult and progress is slow. Trying to write is hard and progress is slow. Very likely move coming up in the next month. Something else about next months feels very interesting, but I digress...

Anyways, I remembered that I had a dream last night and i'm sure some of you murry purry furry types would like to hear about it. If not, too bad, it's happening right now.

I was drinking last night, so that may or may not have affected my dreaming capacity, so, uh, yeah... I was dreaming that I was talking to some artist. I don't know exactly who or even if they were real, but I told them I was a lutraphobe. Not sure how or why that came up, but it did. That piqued their interest somehow, but I didn't realize it at the time. Fast forward a day or two, and I find myself opening up FA. Well, in new submissions, I found three new pieces of art from the artist I was talking to. Looking at the titles, it appeared as if they were all apart of a new comic. I didn't really get a good look at the thumbnails since they were a bit small, and the third one in the set didn't show up for some reason. Being the curious wolf that I am, I clicked on the first submission.

Looking at the picture, I was a bit shocked. What was on my screen was me, or at least a more generic version of my character anyways. The artist was talking about how they talked to me and got this quick little idea for a comic based on my lutraphobia. Surprisingly, and this may be a bit of a statement on how my mind operates, but I was okay with the general premise of the work, but I was kinda offended that I wasn't told that my likeness was being used here! I know, I was throwing a mental fit for getting free art, but there were reasons for that!

Let me tell you about the comic, because that will clear things up. What those things are, that's none of my concern, hopefully. The comic starts with me waking up in some living quarters of a old timey ship. There's some sort of large rectangular window that the morning light was shining through on me. I was chained to the floor, nude, secured by my ankles, my wrists shackled together, a large, stiff metal collar around my neck that was keeping me from looking down. I uttered the words, "What's happening?" That ends the first page. I'm pretty sure I was either a prisoner of war, a caught stowaway or someone who failed at a mutiny in the age of sailing ships, I didn't learn what it was exactly. With my curiosity piqued, I went along to the next page.

On page 2, things began to make even less sense. To begin, some shadow was closing in on the window. I wasn't sure what that was until it broke through the window. I tried to protect myself as best I could from the debris. Once I recovered from that shock, I saw that what came in. Before me was a lizard or crocodile. Not sure what it was, but it was green and scaly and dressed like a typical boat hand on a pirate ship, tan pants and shirtless with a bandanna. His speech bubble said something to the effect that I was a bad wolf for hurting the otters of his ship and that I was gonna pay. I was confused as to what that meant. The next panel quickly dived right into regular furry fare. The crocodile pulled down his pants with a grin and revealed a throbbing erection. Comic-me and "real"-me both had the same look of "Oh god no!" And that's all I got from the comic. That was the end of page 2 and the next page was not loading properly, so I'll never know what happened next.

Yeah...my dreams won't give me porn. EVER!!! XD

Yeah...I've been drinking the entire time I've been trying to type this and it's taken much longer than I've thought. Oh well, at least I may get another interesting dream out of it tonight...

Well, my first con is in the books. Woo. Can’t really do a recap without pointing out a few things.

My original intention for this con that I made many, many moons ago, was to look into getting the family car for the weekend and driving back & forth from home each night to save some money. But when my brother’s puppy came into the picture, I put that idea away, and practically put away the thought of going to the con at all.

When the days got closer to the con, I did begin to have enough money to go, but a new idea started brewing. I thought that since this was my first con, it would be better to get a room there so I don’t have to worry about leaving each night. (That, and to drink much, much more through the night without worry about driving, but I digress.) As luck would have it, I found a room like the week before, and I even got use of the car, if I should need it to leave the con during for any reason. Everything was looking perfect for a-con-goin’!

...and then there was a problem.

I was gonna leave Thursday afternoon to have some time to situate myself in my room, but then I got a phone call. Turned out that car borrowing plans had suddenly vanished. This would mean that I either needed to not take the car so the family could have a means of transport for Friday, or take it and fulfill their travel needs that day. I chose the latter, simply because I knew that I’d need the car to shuttle people places during the con.

So with that taken care of, I got to the hotel Thursday night and pretty much got comfortable in my room.  fuzzypaws &  CTH were lovely roommates, lovely people, lovely brownies. Other than getting registered and meeting  rukario71 & wandering around the con space for a bit, I returned to my room to sleep so I could wake up early to take care of my family’s obligations.

Friday went off without a hitch. Took care of family, went to the first con panel because it was pretty much mandatory for me, and wandered about, meeting some new people, and waiting around for those I really wanted to see to get there. Went to some writing panels that were informative and reactivated my urge to write. Met our other roommate  startide, got a burger, went to the driving range, met an  bigphin and others I can't remember, embarrassed myself with my golfing skills, got some drinks, kept going late into the night. It was all good, but there was this feeling at the back of my mind that I was forgetting something...

...and there was...

Got up Saturday at like 10 to a plethora of messages. Turns out that my bank card was used to schedule a payment a while ago for that day, and that drained all my con spending money. Left the con to return home to get as much of that money back as I could and returned to my day. Bought a tail, had a blast at the voice acting panel, took lots of terrible pictures of the fursuit parade. Satisfied the urge to do AYCE sushi with  simmer  bigfootcat  kartfox ...and many, many other con goers. Oh so many con goers. It got crazy in there. It was such a good time, and the night was still young!

...and then it happened...

I was leaving my room to head down to a room party, when I came upon an unusual scene. Down the hall, there were two people slowly walking my way, one on the phone walking backwards, talking erratically. I didn’t think much of it until I got closer and heard what they were saying. The one not on the phone was an older gentleman, calmly talking to the backwards-walking guy to try and end this before anyone else got hurt. I then noticed that the guy was holding some box cutter or a switchblade in his other hand, pointing it at the other. Took a few steps back and leaned against the wall, trying to distance myself from the scene. The guy did eventually let go of the weapon, then took off, running right past me with a look of feared confusion and down the hall trying to find the stairs I suppose. While I could have tried to stop him, that look told me not to. Intervening would not have been a good idea.

That decision may have been for the best. I turned back to the other person, and was gonna ask what happened, but then I saw two other people walk toward us, and I found my answer. There was a rather fat guy walking down the hall, holding up his shirt, clenching it around where his heart was. There were a few trails of blood coming from there. Beside him was an older woman, crying and pleading not to hurt him, that he didn't know what he was doing. The victim didn't want any of it, his anger at being shivved by her son was too much. From what I could tell, this happened just as the guy was opening the room door for the other. I was frozen in place while they passed by me. The woman looked straight at me, crying her eyes out, trying to get me to intervene, fearing for her son’s life. I really couldn’t. The son was at the end of the hall, probably long gone. I wanted nothing more than to be long gone out of there too.

I started walking to the elevators. The stair door opened, and out comes whom I believe was the head of security, or so I heard. He reached the victim and told him everything was gonna be alright and to just stay calm and wait for more help to arrive. The guy wanted nothing of it, insisting on getting his attacker himself. He began to push the security guy away, but security didn't want any of it and defended himself. After a moment, the victim was calmed down, although he remarked why he was being attacked by security instead of them helping him. At that point, it felt like the scene was mostly over, and I wanted no more part in it, so I hopped into the elevator and headed off to a room party.

I’m not sure how many know this, but I’m pretty susceptible to the emotions of others. That came into play now. By the time I reached the party, I was no longer in a partying mood. My mind was just full of what had just happened. While I did get a drink or two to dull the senses, I really just needed some air & alone time. After a bit of that, I returned, heading straight to the in-con bar, got some drinks, then I did something I didn't think was possible: I just danced. I was on the dancefloor for quite some time, much longer than even I expected or knew I could go. It was a great therapeutic experience, allowing me to forget about everything that happened.

Oh, and dancing with a tail was very fun too!

I left the dance sometime past 3 AM, getting into bed like at 4 after a shower. While I wanted to try to dance til dawn or close enough to it, I was just too out of it to continue for much longer.

Woke up at 8 Sunday, but didn't get out of bed until like 9:30. As much as I wanted mimosas for breakfast, it wasn't in the cards. Wandered around the con space for a bit, catching most of the people that were on their way out early. Did some go-karting, watched the dance competition, bought a few other things and ended the con on an interesting note when a sudden storm blew things up to our floor. Much sadness was had when I needed to leave.

...and just some quick little notes.

Kinda sad that I missed out on a few people while I was there. Reception down in the con space was just horrible, and that played into quite a lot of missed connections.

To the fur who talked to me shortly after the Saturday incident, thank you. I didn't catch your name, but the few words we exchanged were very helpful, much, much more than you though.

Yeah, gotta say maybe since my luck always goes sour when I want to do things. While I have the money to at least be a part of said convention, if only for a little bit, other factors are in play. Not sure I have the time to go the 5 minutes drive over to where the con is, even though I've tried to arrange those days free for some time now. Still looking for a room in the event that I am able to go. I did find an open spot, yet remain hesitant to go forward with it just yet. Money is also a big concern. Onto slightly less boring stuff! Been trying to write here and there, but nothing has come of that. Ideas pile up, yet there's no time for them to be written down. Oh well. I'll get something decently creative put up sometime soon, hopefully...

Time to do the sleep thing now. Can't really type much more anyways. Injured my finger in a bizarre sticker accident. I don't want to talk about it.

Well, been busy these past few days dealing with things away from the Internets at large. I come back here and see bedlam, and understandably, I'm highly confused. So for that confusion, I'll just have a small bout of emotion and move on.

Anyways, as usual, been busy doing nothing and freezing in the wintertime. Tried to work on some writings lately, but not the ones I already have on the table. Really bad at that, but will try and get back on those stories. But for now, I put up an old writing for your criticizing pleasure.

Anyways, been busy. Neglected writing the things I've been meaning to, but I did get back to a semblance of the plan from ages ago: looking at my drafts folder and seeing what would be decent enough for submission. Well, one of them is technically ready after a bit of tinkering with it, it will stay stashed away for now, for reasons. Still, might have some terrible writings to put up here fairly soon.
