Going to AC
Posted 18 years agoHey, anyone else out there gonna be at AC? I know I am ;) If ya see me, be sure to stop'n'say hi if you like my artwork... or even if you don't, hehe :) I'm usually not too hard to find, and go by the name "Storm" when there, so look me up!
lack of posting
Posted 19 years agohey, sorry I haven't been posting in a while... my drawing environment got slightly turned upside down a couple months ago, and things are finally getting back into order... so for all of you who've been watching for me, and waiting for new stuff, don't worry, it'll be coming soon and I apologize for the delays, heheh...
1000 pageviews!
Posted 19 years agoOh wow. Way to make me feel loved guys :) I've broken the 1000 page view mark by the time of writing this journal, and it's greatly appreciated, all of ya. Nice to know my stuff is still getting noticed and watched, and all that really means a lot to me :) Guess that means I've got no choice now, have to keep drawing, heheh :) And I'll have to think of something special to do for this first "landmark".
Thank you all :) Way to make an old wolf feel like he's still capable of something, hehe :)

Sorry for delays!
Posted 19 years agoHey, sorry for not having posted in a little bit, life tends to do that sometimes... in this case, helping keep Leo sane while he tries to deal with his mom's medical issues she's having right now. So, didn't post much, but one of his pics, and one we both worked on, but worry not, I'll be getting back to it ASAP, promise!
Moving forward -- Thanks!!!
Posted 19 years agoWell, as of right now, all the "old" stuff I've had has been posted, along with several new pieces as of late :) But what this means, basically, is anything I post from this point, is going to HAVE to be new, hehe. But, it's thanks to you all, the responses and encouragement I've gotten from everyone, all my watchers, all the favs and comments, all it's done is make me realize I should have stuck with the drawing all along. And all I can do is move forward and continue to create, and hope you all still find it just as pleasing now as you have in the past :)
Thank you all so much!!!! :)

2 things - A "new" artist & The d20 Fur List
Posted 19 years agoFirst and foremost, one of the pics I'm posting today I have to say I am very proud to. My best RL friend, who is neither gay/bi, nor a fur himself (yet), who taught me how to draw 20 years ago is trying his hand at furry artwork.
I am honored and proud to present "Leo", the name he's chosen to go by for the furry purpose. ;) He is a wonderful artist and I've bled for it (I have a tattoo of something he drew), and taught me the basics of form and taught me to develop my own style, both in art and as a person, largely by keeping me humble/humilated, heheh.
He is thinking about picking up commissions and requests, depending on the kinds of responses his art gets, and unfortunately, he does not yet have his own computer hookup at the moment, which is why I'm more than honored to be host to his art. :D
---
This brings me to the "d20" list for furs. Leo and I, late last week, were sitting down like we hadn't done in years and were trying to think of things to draw. I immediately just thought of drawing something furry, and I said "hey, why don't you try it?"... and since he hadn't before, thought it was a good idea. And unable to just 'choose' a species, Leo and I created a list of 20 different species to just pick, when we can't think of anything else... now, this is no way gets "all" furry types of course, but gives a good smattering for variety.
So, next time any of you don't have a particular species you want to draw or write about, but want to draw or write "something", then reference this list. See if it helps you as much as it has me so far :)
1.Bear
2. Cheetah
3. Cougar
4. Cow
5. Deer
6. Dragon
7. Fox
8. Giraffe
9. Horse/Zebra
10. Housecat
11. Hyena
12. Kangaroo
13. Lion
14. Mouse/Rat/Rodent
15. Otter
16. Puma/Jaguar
17. Rabbit
18. Domestic Dog
19. Tiger
20. Wolf/Jackal

The big 100, thanks!! :)
Posted 19 years agoWow, the reactions I've gotten since I've starting posting here, and returning to the furry art community has been astounding. Everyone's been so encouraging, and those that used to look at my artwork years ago (until I stopped posting in 2001) and those people who are just seeing it for the first time now have been great. :)
It really does make me feel like what I was doing back then was all really worthwhile, and so is getting back into it now. The reactions I've gotten have truely been inspiring, and each and every last one of them is truely and greatly appreciated :) Every watch, every fav, every comment, I try to reply to them all, because they do mean so much to me :)
But today, this is cause for celebration, because as of today (9/1) I've gotten my 100th watcher! Woot, hehehe :) Granted, it's a small milestone compared to some, but to me, it means a great deal, and I want to thank you all again for helping me realize that this -is- something I need to do and need to have as a part of my life. Thank you all again :D

Moving...
Posted 19 years agoBleh, you know I hate it... it's always a process, it's always a pain. But, for me, it's coming, and by the middle of September, it's gotta be done...
so, for those of you who've asked for requests/commissions, they may have to go on hold for at least a few weeks while I try to get this mess sorted and settled... and for the rest of you, it means there may be a 'delay' before I can post more, simply because I don't know how long it's going to take my ISP to get set up at the new place, that's still yet to be determined...
just thought I'd drop the FYI though, so no one thinks I'm leaving again ;) Nope, I think I'm "here" to stay this time, whether I like it or not ;)

Trades!
Posted 19 years agoGreetings and well-met once again :) This is an offer going out to any artists out there that'd be interested in a possible art-trade. While I've always got 'ideas' for things to draw, sometimes it's hard for me to decide -what- to draw, so I'm always open to suggestions, heheh.
So, this is going out to anyone who would want to trade art with me. You draw something for me, and I draw something for you, seems fair, I think :)

Art foo
Posted 19 years agoHm, so what to write about? Well, art's always a good subject, since this is a forum for it, heheh... What I'm 'doing' with my art has always been an odd subject and question for me to discuss, because, while it's obviously something I do for myself, I've come to learn it's something I do for other people too: in that, I enjoy looking at it, drawing and whatnot myself, it's a fantastic emotional catharsis, I've found greater 'pleasure', so to speak, in the enjoyment that others find from it too, i.e. feedback and whatnot.
People have been great so far about telling me how much they like my art, how they remember seeing it 'so long ago' and are 'glad to see me back'. But, even now, it's hard for me to 'draw' again... most of what I've posted has been old stuff, with a handful of newer things thrown in. And the one newest pic of Kaja was brand new. ;) Yet I still find myself - hesitating when I draw. Like it's not going to be good enough, or noticed, or even turn out the way I want it to.
This has been a very hard thing for me to overcome, and I often wonder of any suggestions that anyone might have for trying to overcome this mental block. Yes, "draw more", has already been said umpteen times, but it's never as easy as that, at least not for me, not yet... not like it used to be. I want to get out there again, want to sell or commission some if I can, try to use my 'talent' for more than just... well... myself....
Comments, requests and opinions on this are always appreciated, I could use the verbal kick in the ass to get started again, it seems :) So, if you've got any opinions/comments/suggestions/wants/lusts/etc throw 'em my way :)

Actually drawing!
Posted 19 years agoHey guys, gals and otherwise, guess what, I actually drew something again, heheh... hopefully it'll continue ;) Thank you all for the warm welcome I've gotten so far, coming 'back' into the art community, it's been good to see how remembered I am, makes me feel good and not so old sometimes, hehehe...
