Is anyone else on Furrymate? I joined to try to meet a girl with similar interests and hobbies, but it seems like the only girls that respond are probably bots for many reasons. It is a paid site so if they are using bots to keep other furs around that seems like fraud and a scam to me. What does everyone else think? Is Furrymate a scam?

Today I attempted to reach out and talk to someone on here, say hello and see if maybe we can be friends if we had similar interests. Out of respect for them and their decision, I will not mention names because I do not know them and therefore cannot judge them.

Quick version, they said " I get way too many people noting me with the pretense of 'getting to know me' that turns out to be 'yeah, give me free art because we're pals now'. If you'd really like to get to know me, I'll see you around in comments and whatnot. You really can't force friendships. "

Now I know there (sadly) are furs out there that try to use their friendships to get free art, and honestly that is despicable, especially if you know your "friend" is hurting for money and puts so much into their art. I dated an artist and they worked so hard on their art and put so much of themselves into it that to ask them for free art is very low. If the artist wants to do art for you for free that is their personal decision and leave it to them, dont ask for it.

Secondly, do not assume about a person because of past hurts, if the world lived that way no one would leave their rooms and we would be better off with our heads buried in the sand. It is very sad to me that someone would think that of me without even giving me or themselves the chance of a new friend. It also hurts me that that person has been used so much they feel the need to guard themselves that way.

My friends, never be afraid to say hello to someone, or return the gesture, im not saying jump into things blindly, that is truly folly. But do not deny yourself the chance at meeting someone truly amazing, it really is your loss.

Sometimes I feel like trying to reconnect with those who had done me wrong, who really took advantage of me or who i cared for deeply and they left me at my greatest need. I try to forgive them for their actions because its just the kind of person i am, it is so hard sometimes. They were my closest friends, and in one case even my first bf, do i still help them if i see they are truly in need? Should I be the bigger man and offer my hand again, maybe thay have changed, or maybe not, all i ever wanted was for them to see how much i did for them and just be happy to have someone like me in their life. Is that a lot to ask? I dont really think so, but who knows, what shouldd i do fellow furs?

I left my house today at 730am, was in school till 330pm, then headed out in the field to do my senior project reesearch, normally this doesnt take long, but today we did not get back till 930pm because there were only 5 of us that showed up. So for 5 hours I was chest deep in freezing river water counting crayfish, then I fell on a muddy bank and almost broke my left arm, luckily I didnt. But now it hurts like hell, and I'm stuck here at work fromm 11pm-730am, where I will head out to the field and do it again.... today has sucked so much, fuck this entire week has sucked so much...i just want to hear your voice telling me its going to be ok becaue i feel like breaking down and giving up
