spending a few days cleaning house
Posted 12 years agowas supposed to be fully done with that today, but I got called into work for closing shift, so oh well.
should be done cleaning midday tomorrow or something, if I can get my ass moving again. after that I'll draw again, because I just can't comfortably work in a dirty house.
I mean I could legitly say that I hadn't done the dishes since last year, I just let them pile up xD took care of the kitchen most of today so that's not an issue anymore.
anywho, arting will continue soon, especially since some bitch stole some of my hours at work (owner's boyfriend's daughter who is married to the assistant manager. FUCKING FUN.)
not counting today I went from working 5 days a week to working 3. >:C

Posted 12 years agothanks to you guys, I might only need another $20 for my electric bill, which puts my mind at incredible ease. I want to continue to draw, but this tablet pen has a bit of a bad design. http://i01.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/.....t-b-Tablet.jpg see that bump at the bottom end of the grip? yeah that digs badly into my finger and it really starts to hurt after a while. the plastic tip sticks out just a teeeeeny tiny bit further than the rubber grip, and thats what causes the problem. so until my finger starts to callus there(gross do not want) I won't be able to draw for 12+ hours a day.
but seriously, thank you all for the support and business, you don't know how badly I needed the money. please tell your friends! I'm always accepting!
tonight I'll be going to the thrift store with a friend and spending absolutely nothing, just hanging out and relaxing, but first I srsly need to shower.

apologies for unexpected commission delays
Posted 12 years agomy boss at work sorta kidnapped me for the holiday. I spent christmas eve morning finishing up my baking, then spend the evening at her house, slept over, stayed all day hanging out with her and her family, had dinner again, then got home late, spent the next day packing the sweets I baked and wrapping up some minor late presents for certain coworkers, had an evening shift, and today I have a double shift and won't be online at all once I get off.
I certainly didn't plan the kidnapping, and didn't plan on staying so long either.
tomorrow I will be drawing again. can't remember now if I have morning or evening shift but I know it's not a double.
maybe I should take another day longer just to clean up my wreck of an apartment. kitchen is destroyed, there's wrapping paper and boxes everywhere...
eh, that can wait for a day off I guess.
either way will continue tomorrow! sorry again!

Posted 12 years agoBAKING THE FUCK OUTTA MYSELF THATS WHY
work christmas party christmas eve, I coninced my boss to make it a pot luck, and I'm basically dominating the desserts. I wanted to bake a shit ton of cookies and stuff to begin with, but I opened my baking drawer and found a shit ton of muffin mixes and found recipes for cinnamon rolls and gingerbread and all kinds of stuff and I'm like "YUP that's gonna be today"
better I get all the baking done in one shot, so that I have all day tomorrow to draw.
once I'm done today though I'll be finishing up the two commissions I have, so no worries, but this baking is also a bit theraputic for me.
usually sleeping helps me get over stress and depression, but I still woke up kinda down. I really enjoy baking so this is helping me out.
damn holidays tho man. I'm thinking I shoulda waited to accept commissions again till after christmas so I could spend the time-
oh shit I still have to make those scarves I secretly promised to a coworker who can't afford to get her kids presents this year. and in order to do those I have to finish the scarf I'm already working on to free up the loom.
OK WELL CONSIDERING THE HOLIDAY IF I DONT DRAW AGAIN TILL CHRISTMAS DAY IM SURE YOU ALL WILL UNDERSTAND but I'm going to at least try and finish the two I have tonight, because I already said I would. I can knit tomorrow once thOse are done.
I'm already knee deep in chocolate chip cookies. let me count...jessus christ 80 cookies on the table. and I still got at LEAST 2 dozen more either in oven or still in the mixing bowl. oh yeah and another 16 cookies that I just pulled out of the oven that still need to cool a bit before I can add them to the count.
so I have over 100 cookies I've baked. on top of that I plan on making peanut butter cookies and 2 dozen muffins and cinnamon scones and my black bean brownies and my traditional family cookies and I wanna make some stupidly simple fudge but I apparently DIDNT buy icing at the dollar store AND THIS TAKES A LOT OF BUTTER THAT I AM ALMOST OUT OF SO I HAVE TO RUN TO QT TO GET MORE AUG and while I'm at it I'll see if they have icing for the fudge and maybe buy a banana to add to the chocolate cake I have, it always makes it taste ten times sweeter.

Posted 12 years agoI know I said I would but once I got home my whole fucking day fell apart. my fucking dog chewed my brand new crochet hooks that I bought for myself for christmas in half, which got me upset of course, and then the cookie I bought at work, the fucking bitch got onto the coffee table, into my purse, and started fucking eating it, the one fucking thing that could have made me feel a LITTLE fucking better tonight.
oh yeah and my power bill came in and it's somehow $150 even though I don't do anything, and I can barely afford rent right now I sure as heck can't afford that shit

Posted 12 years agoIn my last journal, in my half awake state, I mentioned that I was planning on giving a discounted commission option that went along the lines of "who wants to be my lab rat today" kind of thing. well I've worked out most of the details now in my head, so here's the rundown.
for these guinea pig commissions as I'm calling them, it's really really fucking easy.

HOWEVER I will be coming up with a discounted commission option.
no idea what yet. probably a kinda thing like "pay me to use your character in style experimentation/play around with artsy fartsy magic" or something, where all you're doing is giving me permission to draw your character however I feel fit I guess, IDFK.
I'm too dead tired to think about it right now, but that actually sounds like a pretty cool idea.

HOWEVER
in case SHE can't figure the damn thing out, I need some help. getting by purely on my low paying job is shit. I keep having to borrow money from my family just to buy food, or pay one last bill, or both.
that's not cool. I shouldn't have to do that and I don't want to do that.
so here's the dealio.
new wacom tablet pen costs $70 before shipping. any one, either single or multiple people, willing to put money towards that will go into a commission list. whatever you want, 2 characters, fully shaded, for every $20 donated.
this means if you wanna donate the full $70 for the tablet(I'm gonna pay the shipping, I can handle that) then you can get 3 fully shaded pics and one, I dunno, a lineart or avatar or something.
if you DO wish to go ahead and donate the whole $70, I can also offer you the tablet I have that doesn't work for me. it's brand new, not a wacom, it's just that my computer refuses to recognize it as anything other than a keyboard, and apparently the only way to fix it is to actually dig into the programming and change some code, fuck if I know how to do that. some computers know it right away, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'VE NEVER OWNED A DRAWING TABLET BEFORE apparently old drivers cause the driver for this one to fuck up, part of my problem. I spent $80-$85(not including shipping) on this thing plus extra nibs for the pen. you'd get both for just the $70, which is a big discount compared to what I had to spend, and it's unused, still got the driver disk, manual, box in perfect condition, pen not busted, all nibs there, usb cord still even fucking twist tied, I'll even keep the fucking battery inside the pen so you get a new battery as soon as you get it.
if you're not interested in the tablet that's ok. I'm not trying to shove it into someone's hands, I can always sell it to a computer store or something.
now some tidly bits, whatever you wanna donate, I will draw accordingly for that amount, so if you can only offer like $5 that's totally ok, I'll give you a sketch or two.
obviously, actually getting to the drawing will have to wait until I actually get the tablet in my hands. I can't start drawing if I got nothing functional to draw with.
if you want to donate purely out of the good of your heart and not accept any artwork in return that's ok too, the choice is yours.
I will be waiting until AFTER CHRISTMAS before I even "accept" donations, as there is a chance I'll have my old one fixed before then. either that or I might get enough xmas money to cover it on my own, as long as my bills allow.

but I've gotten back into my knitting hobby. which is a BLAST.
so now I'm going to start taking commissions for that!
scarves, hats, simple purses/bags, belts, tube socks, and anything else I figure out how to make in time! nono-tube socks is my next learning craft.
ANYWAY HOW IT WORKS:
every craft must be paid $10 up front. this is solely to buy the supplies I will need. namely, YARN. yarn ain't cheap. unless I have it already, this is to cover for that. if I have that color already, you pay nothing up front. if I have to have yarn shipped I take care of any other charge after $10.
you decide what product you want. give me sizes, length, width, length of strap, whatever it is you're wanting, any details on size for that. if you don't have a clue(honestly I have very little clue to begin with as this is a new concept to me) just tell me the product you want and I'll just ask you some questions relating to that.
once we get the details, I make it for you. all crafts could take anywhere from just a couple hours to a week, depending on my free time, how hard the project is, and how much I work, cuz I can't knit during work hours.
this is going to be a lot of trial and error with the commissioning process. the crafts themselves, I will not accept a craft that I have no experience in. for example, I will not knit you a sweater. I don't know how to do that. I highly doubt my looms are big enough, even though the loom boxes say they are. if I figure out how to do that by knitting myself a sweater, then I will add it to the available project lists. I'm still learning afterall!
price of the product is decided by me based on how hard the project was, how long it took, and how much yarn went into it(as in, if I had to buy another roll of yarn just to finish your product or not) price is negotiable to a point. this privilege is not to be abused. I will decide if price can be lowered or not depending on the product and other various factors.
please ask me questions. seriously. answering questions about this helps me figure it out myself. so if you're interested or confused or whatever just comment :D
