Feeling a fair bit better.

Thanks to everyone who offered their condolences the other day and since.

No, this isn't a belated 'leaving FA, waaah.' journal.

My pet dog of 14 years, Charlie, is on his way out.
I've had a few dogs over the years, and it's never been easy to say goodbye to the ones that have passed on.
But saying goodbye to Charlie has been the hardest of the lot, not just because he's lived the longest, but because he's technically -my- dog. My baby.

I got him from a puppy, raised and nurtured him, fed and cared for and all the rest. And to see him there, struggling to stand up or sit down, looking at me with confusion as he can't understand why he can't run about, just crushes me.
His big beautiful brown eyes would be soul-rending enough on their own, without that silent plea in them.

I dread the days to come, as I know I'll look out at the backyard, finding a distinctive lack of puppy. The walks around the neighbourhood where other dogs have come to know Charlie. The others that walk their dog who fawn and adore over his gentle, endearing nature.

But I know it's his time to go, and gods I'm going to miss him.

Good bye, Charlie.

Putting feelers out there for a halloween story I'm formulating.
I've as yet got an unset number of positions open, and I'd like to see who'd be interested in places as the terrified victims.

All the fun included will be at the hands of my nefarious imp Rael, who starred in several of  Rufellen's halloween stories in the past. Though, expect a bit more vore than transformation in mine. Though TF is liable to happen, as is some amount of abuse, and potential madness-inducing.

So the first fort fell with a spectacular influx of invaders. People were eaten left, right and center with piteous hopes of survival.

I'll be running another game of DF, and once more, opening up the ranks to anyone who wants to have a dwarf named for them, and potentially written about.

Same deal as last time, basically, though I'll be using the masterwork mod, which should permit a greater number of enemies, and a wider variety of skills and job classes.

So I'm going to write a story based off of a game of Dwarf Fortress.

I will be naming Dwarves after people, and making a diary of events that list the fort's founding, its goings ons, and eventual down-fall.

For those of you who know how Dwarf fortress is played; I will not be using bridges for defense, nor copious amounts of weapon/cage traps. I will be focusing mostly towards a military.

So what I need from you all, if you're so interested, are names of people who would like to star in this story. Dwarves will be named for you, and you will be written about in the event that something happens. You craft amazing things, you have a strange mood, you get ill, injured, or devoured, etc. etc.

Inevitably, the story will most likely end in everyone being eaten, but for those fortunate few in the military who like to live dangerously, stand the chance to 'devour' enemies yourselves.

You can, if you wish, ask to have a siege-leader, or a larger-than-normal beast named for you, if you prefer predding, but know that if the military bit works out, you stand the risk of being devoured all the same.

So leave a comment here, on if you want to join up, what name you want for your dwarf 'Repurposed' to whatever you are. And what sort of job you would prefer.

You had super-powers.

What would they be, and would you be good, or evil?

So my mind is going "I want to write tonight."

But it cannot decide on what it wants to write. I have several ideas written down, including, yes, the one with all of the people's names in it, that will be written, but not tonight..

So tonight, I'm looking for a fresh perspective, and I want your help.

Give me an idea. Give me a setting. A place. A time. Give me names. Faces. And what's going to happen. As much or as little as you want or can, and I'll see what takes my muse's fancy.

Trip back was uneventful, thankfully. Disgaea made the plane trip wonderfully bearable, and music made the train trip back whoosh by.
Slight issues in getting inside (I forgot my key when I left. Oops!) but yeah.

So I had fun in Darwin, hung out with friends, movies, games, wandering about the city, got a new nipple piercing. (Holy fisk it's bearable pain. but still, -wow-)

And yeah! Now back to the monotony.

Holy crap this morning has been a trip. Bed down early to get up at four in the morning. All ready to go, train station on time. Ticket twice expected price. Train quarter hour late on a tight schedule, with a sudden 'changing service to all stations'. I was a little stony-faced. Each stop crawling by, get off at central and bolt for the airport line. Hop the first one, and make it to the airport, booking in a minute before cut off. X.x;;;

Curiously; saw a black cat crossing the road as I was being dropped at the station. Dammit Jag, stop messing with my luck! It's the 19th. >:C

So birthday came and went in relative quietness. Had a good day, an awesome dinner and next to nothing to complain about.

It's difficult trying to walk a dog who seems to be the only male in the neighbourhood. Befriends ALL the lady-dogs.

Like the Hugh Hefner of my neighbourhood. He's like, a bagillion years old.
