How _NOT_ to treat your Lithium battery.
General | Posted 5 years agoHmmm. Been awhile. Hanging on tho. Still here, tho busy. here's a fun video of a project I was working on that got just a bit crazy. I gave it to Big Clive to post on Youtube as he likes explody bits and has a far greater reach then my channel. Do _NOT_ disrespect your lithium-ion battery packs! Bad things can happen. (This is one 18650 cell punctured by a drywall screw. A bit bigger than a AA cell.)
No bats (Or Daves) were hurt much in the bang-up. A few burnt bits, lots of nasty smoke and fumes and a bit of fire...

Enjoy! Stay safe and don't do what I do...
(Except, maybe, react carefully during something like this. I've found over the decades that it ends up hurting a lot less. And yes, that's me holding the 3.5Kwh battery pack in my lap...)

General | Posted 5 years agoHilo, All! Just a quick update for those of you who know I live in the Santa Cruz mountains: I, and 64,000 others, have been evacuated from the CZU Lightning Complex fire area. Many friends, co-workers, church members all out. My house, (and the electronics company i work for) still are broadcasting the security camera views, so they're still there. 57,000 acres, 2% containment. Pretty freaky.
My church is still out of the evac zone, (Just barely), so many families there. I'm staying in the East Bay, 60 miles north. I'll drive down early Sunday AM to set up livestream for services, then back North. Hoping and praying for safety and low losses.
anyway, stay safe, healthy and furry! God bless, Stu/Stubat (My church family is furry-friendly, too)

Guess I'd best make one of these here Journal things..
General | Posted 9 years agoAnd I thot a journal was part of a bearing... Who knew??
Been awhile since I've uploaded anything. My bad. Life, migrating trees, mud slides, house bits and R/L ™ have been kicking pretty hard. Have built up a small batch of arts, will try to get a few more uploaded much sooner than later. Hope you all enjoy the continuing antics of Stubat, his chirr buddies and whatever else I can think of.
I've been binging on Zootopia fanfic and art, so much good stuff out there, much of it from the old guard artists that I've followed for (insert horribly long time here...) as a greymuzzle myself. It's been fun to see and read this stuff. Sorry, but this bat's a rabid shipper of Nick/Judy, all the fluff I can get.
Take care, all, was fun catching up with several of you at FC, even picked up an Overhaul pony of Dusty's from Mel. White. Stay furry! Yours, the up too late, Stubat.
