A Necessary Update Regarding Commissions
General | Posted 7 years agoThis message will be sent to everyone in the commission queue as soon as possible, but for now I'd like to make this announcement public.
Before I start, let me be clear that if you submitted a commission back in February, then you are still on the current commission queue. You are free to leave the queue if you want, but I don’t want to remove anyone, myself. I say this as an attempt to avoid any confusion before diving into the main topic.
With that out of the way, I have to be honest: While I’ve enjoyed drawing commissions for everyone over the past six months or so, during those same six months my own circumstances have changed, and what worked for me back in February doesn’t work for me, today. I assumed I could breeze through commissions with little to no delay, and that by this time all of them would have been completed with plenty of room to spare. The reality, though, is that commissions take longer than I expected, and the amount I’ve been charging for pictures since February doesn’t reflect the amount of time I need to work on them. It’s because of this that I’ve come to the decision that I can’t keep taking commissions at their current cost, and I will need to raise my prices.
As of now, prices will be set accordingly:
Sketch: $20 per character
Colored Sketch: $25 per character
Clean/Inked Lineart: $37 for the first character, $33 for each additional character
Flat Colored Lineart: $42 for the first character, $38 for each additional character
Shaded Colored Lineart: $52 for the first character, $48 for each additional character
Unfortunately, this will affect everyone who is currently queued up for a commission and has not yet discussed an invoice with me. I deeply apologize that I have to do this, but because I do not see myself finishing the queue anytime soon, it’s either this or wiping out the queue entirely, and I do not want to disrespect everyone’s patience more than I already have. If you choose to stay in the queue, I’m willing to give a 10% discount on your commission based on the new price. However, if you are unsatisfied with this change in terms and wish to leave the queue, I don’t blame you for wanting to do so; just let me know as soon as possible so I can make the changes. This will not affect anyone with whom I’ve already finalized a price, or has a commission that is a work in progress.
As I wrap up, I once again want to apologize for having to do this. Back when I opened commissions in February I was incredibly excited to draw for everyone, to the point where I refused to cut myself off and let anyone who wanted to submit an idea do so. However, this enthusiasm got the better of me, and instead of taking a reasonable amount of commissions like 5 or 10, I let myself take 40+ in the span of two hours. As of today I still have roughly 30 to go before it’s cleared out, assuming everyone who’s left wishes to remain. The crisis I am in today is nobody’s fault but my own. I let my good intentions and enthusiasm obscure reasonable judgement, and I’m am very sorry to those of you who are affected by it.
While prices may be raised in the future, I will do my best to keep it from happening in circumstances like this, again.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to respond to this post, send me a message, or email me at zorofabuloso@gmail.com. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Thank you for your time.

In Regards to the Commission List
General | Posted 7 years agoI've gotten a few messages recently regarding the commission list that I put together a long while back, and that I'm currently still working on. I just thought I should let people know that if you haven't heard from me recently, that doesn't mean I forgot about you.
At this time I have a pretty big spreadsheet with everyone that submitted to the Google Form, and I've been doing my best to keep it organized. If you haven't heard from me, it's because I haven't gotten to you yet, but rest assured that you are on the list and I will be in touch with you when it's your turn.
Along those same lines, no one who I've contacted about commissions has failed to contact me in return, so don't worry if you think you may have received a message from me, but it didn't go through or something like that.
If you have any more questions, feel free to drop them below or in a note, but I wanted to clear things up in case people were worried.

COMMISSIONS = CLOSED
General | Posted 8 years agoThanks to everyone who filled out the form! As of now commissions are closed until this (rather large) batch has been completed!
If you submitted to the form, I should be contacting you sometime today or tomorrow with more information.

Commissions Return Next Weekend
General | Posted 8 years agoJust wanted to give y'all a heads up. More details will follow soon.
Suggestion Box Broke; Reply Here
General | Posted 8 years agoSo my suggestion box is currently dead at the moment due to a server issue, so if you want to send me a suggestion of any kind feel free to reply here. If there's anything you'd like to see feel free to leave a comment. Only thing I'll say is that I won't do anything with OCs unless they're my own. Otherwise, go wild.
Commission Status Update
General | Posted 8 years agoDue to me being really busy and away from the computer during most of the upcoming weeks, regular commissions will not be returning until after the holidays. I may still take in-stream commissions, but as of now I can't guarantee I'll have the time to work on anything more time consuming.
Sorry about that to anyone who was waiting for me to open again.

A Note on Commissions This December
General | Posted 8 years agoHey everyone! So, I wanted to share a couple things about commissions and commissioning me. I'm sorry if this comes out weird and convoluted. I just wanted to share some thoughts:
-As of right now I'm making my way to the end of my current commission queue, and hopefully will be able to reopen them again early in December. I'm still not sure that I've found a good way to go about taking commissions, so I bet the next time I open again will also be a bit of an experiment. I'm sorry to everyone who has been interested in getting one from me but hasn't had the chance to, yet, I just try to keep myself from biting off way more than I can chew.
-In addition, as some of you may have noticed, I've started taking stream commissions every once in a while. I've found that this is a good way to get a few quick drawings done for cash, and I'll probably continue doing this into the future.
-How often I take commissions might change over the next year, because something I've had trouble with is really taking the time to work on strong, personal pieces in my free time, and also the very likely chance that I'll be looking for a new job.
-I'm not going to take any holiday themed commissions this year, because I'll be pretty busy this holiday season and probably won't have as much time to draw as I usually do
That's about it. I hope it made sense, and thank you all for taking the time to read this nonsense. Commissions should return in December, but still no idea when exactly that will be. Sorry!

Just so ya know...

Another Important Commission Notice
General | Posted 8 years agoCommissions will open up around 1pm EST tomorrow, Oct 8th. I will only accept commissions once I make the statement that they're open. Please don't send me emails, notes, etc at 1pm when I haven't even said that commissions are open, because I won't accept those (If you send it afterwards, tho, then I will accept them).
Commissions Return Sunday Oct 8!
General | Posted 8 years agoAs I begin to wrap up my previous set of commissions, I think it's about time that I open commissions once again! This time, I want to give everyone a bit of a heads up so that no one is caught by surprise.
I'm planning on opening them sometime around 1pm EST, but that's a very soft deadline.
Like before, I will only be taking sketch and colored sketch commissions. This style of commission is actually the easiest for me to accomplish in a short period of time, and unfortunately time isn't something I have a lot of lately. I am planning on opening up for a total of four slots, but this isn't set in stone and I might increase/decrease the amount.
In addition, seeing as it is the Halloween Season, if you want something done BEFORE a certain date you have to let me know ASAP. That way I can give those time-sensitive pieces priority and also plan ahead so I can finish them on time.
Rules and Prices are Here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8171620/ and feel free to ask any questions you may have, below!

Moving Woes and Owed Art
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, I forgot to mention this earlier, but during this past week and the week ahead I'll be moving into a new apartment. While I usually don't see that as enough of an interruption to warrant any major announcement, as luck would have it, the new place has abysmally slow internet; even Google takes a significant amount of time to load on my desktop computer. While I deal with this issue, my output will probably slow down, and for that I'm really sorry.
Things have just been busy and I know many of you will understand, but I still feel bad for making the people I owe art, whether it be commissions or trades or gifts, wait even longer. I'll probably delete this journal once everything is solved, but for now, I once again apologize for taking so long; it wasn't my intention to do so.

General | Posted 8 years agoI just wanted to say thank you all for the encouragement and support you guys have given me ever since I got an account here. I'm not the best at communicating and I often am a horrible organizer when it comes to getting art done, but I wanted you all to know that I appreciate your enjoyment of my work, even if I don't always show it. It means a lot to me and really helps push me forward to keep doing what I'm doing.
Places to Post Art?
General | Posted 8 years agoI'm curious: Is there any other place I should consider posting my artwork besides Twitter, Tumblr, Pixiv, and here? I thought about dA, and while I do have a Subakitsu account there I'm not very inclined to post pictures on it. I know there are other furry-type galleries on the web, but I feel like that might be redundant considering I don't just draw furry art.
IDK, any thoughts?

Sketch Commissions Slots are CLOSED!
General | Posted 8 years agoWelp, all slots are now full! Thanks for all the interest, everyone!
Hey guys, guess what's back? That's right, commissions! However, this time around I will only be taking sketch and colored sketch commissions. I haven't been able to work on commissions as much as I want, recently, so hopefully by doing this I will be able to complete more commissions in a shorter amount of time, and open more frequently. Fingers crossed.

Commission FYI
General | Posted 8 years agoJust to let people know, I'll probably be opening commissions again sometime within the next two weeks. However, because I am going to be busy, the number of commissions I will be taking at one time will be smaller AND I will only be taking sketch/colored sketch commissions. I apologize to anyone who wanted something more detailed, but I complete sketch commissions much faster than any other kind, and I simply don't have the time to focus on more involved pieces.
I hope everyone understands, and I'll be making a full commission post very soon.

Suggestion Box
General | Posted 8 years agoIn case you don't follow me on Twitter, I recently got an Odaibako account, which is essentially a suggestion box where people can submit their ideas. Basically, if you have any art idea you want to see from me (Doesn't have to be TF or TF related), feel free to send a suggestion in. However, because it is a suggestion box, I'm not obligated to draw anything that gets tossed in there. If there is something you actually want drawn, the best bet is still commissioning me for it. I'm not going to be super strict on guidelines, but asking me to draw your OC or being super gross will probably mean it will never, ever get drawn.
Feel free to shoot me any questions about this if you have them, but other than that, have fun: http://odaibako.net/u/zorofab

Thank You Again!
General | Posted 8 years agoJust wanted to say thanks again to everyone who received a commission slot or was interested in a commission. Right now I am wrapping up some remaining things, but I should be sending the people in slots 1 and 2 invoices as I begin to work this weekend. Everyone else I'll try to stay in contact with as best as I can, but please understand that I'm going to prioritize the people at the top of the list first. I will be sure to get to everyone's pictures as soon as possible, and I won't go looking for payment until I know I can work on your commission.
If any of you guys have any questions, just send me a message!

COMMISSION SLOTS
General | Posted 8 years agoSlots will be first come, first serve, and I won't be opening any new ones until the batch is complete. If you are unable to get a slot, no worries! If this goes well rotation should be quick and new slots should pop up frequently! While FA DOES have a notes system, I prefer to do all my commission conversation through email (I find it much easier to sort and discuss with others). Therefore IF YOU WANT A COMMISSION, PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA EMAIL. SLOT RESERVATIONS WILL NOT BE TAKEN THROUGH NOTES. With that in mind, here are the prices and rules.
PRICES
-Cleaned Sketch: $12 for the first character, $9 for each additional character.
-"Inked” Line Art: $15 for the first character, $12 for each additional character.
-Colored Sketch: $15 for the first character, $12 for each additional character.
-Flat Coloring: $18 for the first character, $15 for each additional character.
-Shaded Coloring: $24 for the first character, $20 for each additional character.
-Complex or detailed characters might be charged an additional fee (High detail armor, wings, complex eldritch abominations).
-Backrounds will require an additional cost based on their complexity. This means backgrounds with foliage, furniture, texture, anything that might increase the amount of work I need to do. Simple color backgrounds are free.
-Sequences: It’s pretty obvious to people I draw transformation, so if you are interested in a TF sequence, each part of a single character TF sequence would equal one character. For example a colored sketch sequence where a person transforms into a horse in three parts would be worth $39 ($15+$12+$12).
If you want more examples of the work I do, you can find them in my gallery or Commission Info section.
RULES
-THE RULES ARE IMPORTANT, PLEASE FOLLOW THEM.
-I can do SFW or NSFW drawings (Tho I am definitely more experienced in safe for work stuff).
-Although I’m open to hearing any ideas you may have, if you do request something I’d prefer not to draw, then I will not take your commission. This usually relates to thematic or fetish material I may find unpleasant.
-Please try and be clear and detailed when describing your commission, and provide references when possible. This makes it easier for me to know exactly what you want me to draw.
-I expect full payment before the commission is started. This is just my personal policy, sorry.
-I'll only be taking payments through Paypal, and I will send you an invoice once we have worked out all the commission details.
-Please let me know from the start if you want this commission kept private, anonymous, OR need it done by a certain day or time.
-You are free to upload the finished commission from me as long as I am credited.
-Do not upload the sketch or any other part of the process I send you until the commission is complete or I say otherwise.
-I am willing to make minor changes for free, but if there are any major changes you need me to make during the process, I may require an additional fee. This is usually stuff like significantly changing the character after I reach the colored stage, etc.
And once again, I ONLY TAKE COMMISSION RESERVATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS THROUGH EMAIL. You may ask me questions via notes, but they will not get you a commission slot.
When you are ready, email is zorofabuloso@gmail.com

Commission Examples
General | Posted 8 years agoWhile commissions have STILL yet to open (I just moved IRL and junk is everywhere), I put price and picture examples up under my commission info (Can people see that?).
There will be additional costs based on the complexity of characters and the desire to have any sort of background, but for now hopefully this gives you an idea of my prices. As always, feel free to ask me any questions.

Random Thought...and Commissions
General | Posted 8 years agoI honestly never thought I would fall this far down the furry hole. I went from just being distantly associated with them to enjoying hearing people talk about their 'sonas and suits and cons and all the fandom stuff like that. Makes me even think I need to get more original and artistic with my stuff, like making my fox a little less boring. IDK, I just never expected to reach this point 7 years ago when I started being friends with furries.
Oh, and commissions will likely make their reappearance in mid-April. It will be based on slots, first-come, first serve. If you have any questions about content that will be allowed, feel free to ask. Otherwise, I can't do any sort of slot "reservations". Sorry everyone who has been eager to get one.

On the Topic of Commissions
General | Posted 9 years agoSo I have gotten a couple of notes in the past few days of people asking if I take commissions. While the answer is yes, I am currently not open right now due to several I already have in my backlog that need to get done.
However, if you are interested in a commission or just want to throw a commission idea by me, feel free to send me a note and I'll see if that is a picture I would be willing to draw. I'm not terribly picky, but I do have my limits.
I will be sure to let everyone know when commissions are open again and what the prices would be...and I don't do requests.
Let me know if you have any questions!

General | Posted 9 years agoHi, I'm Zoro. I draw a whole bunch of different stuff, though the things I'll post here will mostly be of the furry/fetish variety. I'll try and be tasteful but every once in a while I turn things up to 11 and sink further into kink hell. Currently I'm not taking any requests, trades, or commissions, but I'm sure that will change in due time.
I'm not very good at self-introductions, but if you have any questions then feel free to ask. Nice to meet you all!
