the hopeless state of online social media
Posted 2 years agoYou can't stay on Tumblr.
You can't stay on FA.
You can't stay on Twitter.
Feels like there's nowhere to go anymore.

RE: policy update
Posted 2 years agoI know I don't update enough on here honestly, but here's a couple of free ideas the site can do outside of their little Sonic Porn Ban 2: Too Short To Fuck Edition
1. A queue post system to stagger out massive amounts of backlogged work over time
2. Multiple image support (think Pixiv, IB, or any modern website for artists), incredibly useful for edits, comics, commission batches, or just not wanting to write a fucking description for 2-3 similar images
3. Video media uploading because having to link to a catbox or offsite file uploader to show a fucking 8mb webm ( something even fucking 4chan can do) is STUPID.
4. A notification feed made from this century
5. A tagging system people are encouraged to actually use, with autofill tags for common content as well as a search function not stitched together by string and paperclips
6. Post formatting tools made from this century that allow for link embedding because I'd like to be able to do more than change alignment and bold/strike/underline. There's a whole row for that shit that could be used to format text and its only got six things on it. Jesus.
7. A way to scale avatars to fit your piddly little 100x100 75KB limit. The fact you still have to manually do this for a website that dares thinking about taking subscription money is laughable.
In the age of Tumblr/Twitter bleeding users and NSFW artists due to shitty policy changes, you'd think the site dedicated to animal people fucking would look at the writing on the wall and go "hmm. we should try to siphon artists from there by being more appealing as a platform" but its way easier to alienate even more people off your dinosaur website because they might get the axe for drawing cult of the lamb characters slightly too on model or w/e. You expect people to pay money for service this lackluster?
