PSA: Buyer's Remorse

I just wanted to take the time to post this here because I feel it needs to be addressed.
Several days ago I was messaged by an old commissioner asking me to remove their commissioned image from my gallery on the grounds that "at first I find it heartwarming... now I feel angry everytime I see it".
I tried to contact them privately, only to find that both their DA and FA accounts had been deactivated or deleted after they had posted their comment.
While I understand that sometimes certain artworks or characters can bring in sour memories at any point down the track, this is not a compelling enough reason for me to have to remove artwork that I have created from my online portfolios.
My galleries allow me to show exmples of my work and what I am capable of as an artist, and are crucial to my ability to continue to work as one.
In my TOS it states that "I, the artist, have the right to use the image created for you for promotional purposes, such as providing examples of my work."
This means that I legally have the right to use MY OWN WORK as examples of the services I can provide for future clients, irregardless of whether the piece was commissioned or not.
I understand that not all artists work in this manner, however, one should expect that an artist will retain a legal right to their own artwork and may use it in future to promote themselves and their abilities.
If you are not comfortable with a work created for you being publicly available then you need to consider an artist's Terms of Service or discuss the matter with them privately BEFORE you commission them in order to prevent such circumstances from occurring.
On top of this, if you are going to commission "couple art" at any point in time, then you should understand that you're already running the risk of your commissioned artwork potentially being an upsetting reminder at any point in the future, and we artists are not responsible for how your relationships with other people pan out.
Buyer's remorse is not grounds enough for a company to remove a product from their shelves.
[As an added note, the artwork in question is old enough that it is no longer in any kind of forefront of any of my online galleries (or even folders in those galleries). The only way this image would be able to make this person upset by it is if they sought it out deliberately, whether online or in their own files.]

One's a fun little concept,
And one is a joke idea that popped into my head one night before bed that turned into a bigger project

Posted 7 years agoThe Bad News:
Last night, while my housemate was visiting a friend of hers,
her car was broken into and her handbag was stolen.
She called the police and filed a report, called her bank and cancelled her card, and all that,
but it was really worrying because she had pretty much all her important stuff in it.
Her wallet (debit card, ID card, Medicare card, etc), house keys, makeup, hormones..
Plus now she has to pay to get her car window replaced, on top of other financial woes right now.
So it was a pretty sucky night.
The Good News:
This morning a forensic officer showed up and managed to get two prints
from the car door that had the window smashed in
Several hours later Taylor gets a call about how they found the guy
AND recovered her bag with everything in it!
(also turns out her debit card was still in MY wallet since she lent it to me a few days ago
and I'd forgotten to put it back in hers, go figure XD)
She still has to go pick it up from the police,
but we're both super impressed with how quickly (and well) this worked out
Next Steps:
Even though we found her debit card in my wallet,
it had still been cancelled since she called up last night
so my debit card is going to be our main source of payment
for the next few weeks until her new card arrives,
which is unfortunate considering how little money I get paid
plus we've got a few large expenses coming up
(our lawn is god damn disgusting, it's basically a weed forest)
and it takes several days for any money she sends me to show in my account
so I'm gonna be opening up a few more cheap offers on here
to try and give us a bit more of a buffer for the next few weeks.
So you can be on the lookout for more cool shit™ from me!

Just wanted to pop in and let you know that I'm still working on things
(the semi-mystery adopts for lilflandre and ShiningScales are currently partially done)
I got my hormone injection yesterday and let me tell you
Reandron makes yo butt hurt for a solid 12hrs after you get injected lmao
So I wasn't able to be sitting down for long periods of time
and today I've just been really tired and hungry all day
Not great for productivity but I'll be back to working on things in a day or two~

seriously I cried when I saw your contributions)
I'm now able to afford my hormones and medication
as well as chip in a little for food this week
You're all amazing people and I love you <3

because, honestly, they're pretty fun!

I'm already a week overdue for my hormone injection
I've only got a few days' worth of my anti-anxiety meds left
Plus my housemate is currently under financial strain since her motorcycle started acting up

I hope you're all doing well~
As for me, I'm doing pretty well, actually!
I've been trying to be more social lately,
(I left the house three times this week!)
so I've noticed my mood's picked up a lot,
and one of my close friends bought a desk fan
as a belated birthday gift for me! ;v;
So I've been getting back into the swing of working,
(now that it's nice and cool sitting at my desk),
and I'm currently waiting on approval for
several designs I've been working on lately!
I'm looking forward to showing them to you~!
I've also been considering opening up a DTA Event
to help get some of my old adopts homes!
DTA stands for Draw To Adopt,
and is somewhat like a raffle/contest!
To get an entry, you would draw the character being offered,
and either everyone who enters would receive a number
and a winner would be drawn via a RNG
OR I would judge which piece I like best
and that would determine the winner~
And then, whoever wins, has a bunch
of art to go with their new character~!
What do you guys think?
Would you guys be interested in an event like this?
Are there any particular adopts you'd like to see offered for this?

I'm really sorry it's taking so long
I've been doing my best to keep up my productivity
But with the heat and humidity at the moment it's difficult
(And night time isn't much better tbh)
Plus I don't particularly want to be sticking to/sweating all over my tablet
