I've been rather productive in the business-y side of things lately! At least, it feels like it ;v;
I've had my Picarto.TV channel verified,
found a website to sell art packs (and possibly bases in the future!) on,
revised my watermark file to the wing-only version of my Intuitive Designs logo so I can still use it on my artworks, etc,
semi shut my Patreon down (so I can focus on more things for a little while),
changed my username/handle to suchtrashley on most social media sites,
and even used some of my fortnightly pay to upgrade my DA account to CORE so I could change my name there as well!
I've also been looking into some pieces of equipment I can look to invest in at some point which can help me offer more content to you all~!
And then there's the things I've been having to deal with these last few days
*deep sigh*
As a few of you may have noticed (if you have me on Facebook) that I've been having such a wonderful time trying to change my Page name there.

I knew from Facebook's "must have 'proper' capitalisation" rule that it was slightly autistic,
but dear lord I didn't think rebranding would be so much hassle on one of the world's most-used social media websites
*rubs temples*
And then, on top of that whole issue, I've had to be in contact with PayPal! :D
For the last month-ish I've had a negative balance of $23.15 AUD,
which I tried sending money to them to correct but I didn't have any in my bank account at the time, so.. yeah
And PayPal likes to do that thing where it adds your negative balance to any purchase you want to make so you can buy the thing and correct your debt all at once
Which is fine, save for the fact that it's happened FOUR TIMES to me now,
(almost five times, but because the item + negative balance = more than I had in my bank account, my card declined it and the payment didn't go through)
and each time the money comes out of my bank account, but doesn't show up in my PayPal summary
and PayPal still tells me I have a negative balance of $23.15 AUD!
So I messaged them through their online help centre, hoping to resolve the issue,
and all I got back was an automated message that didn't even address the issue I messaged them about!

So, having heard lots of good things about how helpful they are if you call them up, that's what I did.
And, despite having told the lady several times what the issue was, she continued to simply tell me things like
"Yes you have a negative balance of $23.15 AUD"
"To resolve your negative balance you have to send funds to your PayPal account by either card or bank transfer"
"You cannot send payments unless your negative balance is paid back"
And then continued on with
"You have made payments in the last two days but your Summary says that PayPal has not made any additional charges to your account"
"PayPal has not received any money from your account"
Eventually, after many "yes, I know, that's not the issue, if you will just listen to me-"s, she tells me to discuss the issue with my bank.
Great. Whatever. At least I know from the bank's side I can cancel the payments with a form and get my money back in a few days.
"Is there anything else I can help you with today?"
"Yeah I sent you two applications for a name change and I haven't heard back from either."
*bunch of bullshit, she's still addressing me by my birthname even after I've told her I've legally changed my name to Ashley*
"Sorry we can't approve any name change requests unless your photo ID shows your current legal name"
DESPITE MY TELLING HER (AND INCLUDED IN MY APPLICATIONS) THAT MY CURRENT ID HAS MY OLD NAME ON IT
BUT MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE HAS PROOF OF BOTH NAMES BEING ME
SO I'M CLEARLY WHO I SAY I AM WHY IS THAT SUCH A FUCKING PROBLEM???
Ugh, so now I have to spend a few hundred dollars (which, I mean, I've needed to do for a while now, anyways)
to renew my photo ID with my updated legal name and gender.
Money I do not have, might I add.
So, whatever, I take a breather and the moirail gives me hugs to help me calm down from the frustration
Then I call the 24hr number for my bank to see if I can get them to cancel the payments
Sit on hold for a good 10-15 minutes
Dude is nice and all that and asks me for my account number and name
I give him both my names
"I'm going to need to speak to the actual account holder-"
"I am the account holder."
I explain to him that I'd recently legally changed my name but had yet to go into a branch to
show them my ID and new birth certificate and all that to get the name on my account changed
He stops me and goes to talk to his supervisor, then
"Sorry, you'll have to go into a branch in person and show your ID."
.............
I mean, I totally understand, but like... surely they have other ways to make sure I am who I say I am?
Like the fucking secret questions and fulls names and dates of birth and all that.
Cuz now I have to do so much extra bullshit (which, tbh I've needed to do anyways but haven't had the time/money to do)
just to get $92.60 AUD back into my account because of PayPal's website fucking me over

Today has been a shit day and to top it all off Path of Exile's servers are lagging tf out
and it's causing me to die and lose XP in areas where normally I'd be fine

Posted 8 years agoI imagine you're all getting sick of all the "HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!111!!!!" journals spamming your inboxes so I'll do my best to keep this brief.
Despite 2017 being a pretty shitty year on a global scale, it was actually a pretty good year for me, personally.
I started using my FA account regularly and made SO MANY friends and met a lot of wonderful people in general.
I've been working on my art so much that for the first time ever I have at least one artwork for every month of 2017!
I've had more people watch and commission me in this past year on FA than in the 7+ I've been on DA.
I hit the 1yr mark for being on hormones, and am feeling much more happy with myself and more like my body is my own.
(Dysphoria became a thing of the past!)
I went to my first fur con and got to meet the wonderful Ponah in person!
I created my own Patreon page and managed to sustain the support from two wonderful people for majority of the year!
I started using invoices on PayPal.
I got my name legally changed to Ashley!
I participated in Art Fight and produced more art in one month than I thought was possible for me.
I started using my deviantART account again for the first time since I was 14.
I've watched so many wonderful new films, TV shows and anime that I discovered.
I actually started using my RedBubble account, and have sold several stickers.
(I know it was you spitfire_musicislife lmao <3)
I've upgraded my drawing tablet to a newer, less cumbersome model.
I bought a desktop computer for the first time since I was in high school.
I've gotten back into playing Path Of Exile, which is a game I got really into a few years ago and it always helps me with my anxiety and such.
I've been part of several TTRPG campaigns in systems like 5th Ed, Dark Heresy, and Eclipse Phase.
I got to try my hand at shooting both a 60lb bow and an old af rifle.
I discovered a bunch of new artists and musicians to follow.
I FINALLY FINISHED MY FRIEND'S BLACK WOOL HOODCAPE.
I started making speedpaints again.
I now own 31 different coloured Sharpies. Fite me.
And like a bunch of other stuff that I can't think of right now haha.
Even though life gives us ups and downs, I want to take the time to be thankful for everything that happened for me in 2017.
It may not have been the best year, but it was certainly a good one. At least for me.
And regardless of how the year has treated you and what holidays you celebrate, I hope the season has been enjoyable and safe for all of you.

Anyways, here's some things that I'm going to be implementing in the new year!
Completely rebrand to suchtrashley
Intuitive Designs is still a wonderful dream from when I was 14, but for right now I feel like it no longer represents me or my work.
So I'm going to be changing all my online handles to suchtrashley as soon as I am able.
I will need to purchase a Core Membership to do this on DA, and I'm looking into a work-around for Facebook's autistic "must start with a capital" rule,
but for every other social media website that allows it, my username has been changed.
Alongside changing all my usernames to suchtrashley, I'm also going to stop using my old "RedSkinnies" signature on my art, as well as my Intuitive Designs watermark.
I will start signing my artworks with a simple "suchtrashley", and perhaps will use the wing-only version of my watermark.
Verify my channel on Picarto
This one is a pretty easy one.
You'll probably see the journal for them to begin the process in the near future.
Basically this will just tell people that I am who I say I am!
Close my Patreon
This took a lot of heavy consideration, but I have unpublished my ONE FOR ALL reward tier as of last night.
I may figure out how to unpublish my Patreon page at some point, but for now there are simply no rewards available and thus no obligation on either side.
This measure may only be temporary, and I may open it back up at a later date for pledgers, but for now it's not something I'm focusing on.
This being said, all existing owed rewards will still be completed or at least refunded.
Open my Discord server up to the public
With only two patrons, neither of which really use Discord, I'm sure you can imagine how little the server I set up has actually been used.
I've decided that I'm going to open it up as a public group for all those who want to chat with me,
and if I ever decide to publish Patreon rewards again, I will simply be adding separate roles for those who pledge.
Start selling digital art packs on PayHip
I recently discovered payhip.com and it's exactly what I've been looking for.
PayHip will allow me to sell digital art or base packs online and it will handle the product delivery to customers themselves.
I do not have anything up for sale at the moment, but I will be uploading various monthly art and behind-the-scenes packs sometime soon.
I'll let you all know about it once it's ready, of course!
It goes without saying but I will also be focusing on finishing my queue.
I will not be taking on ANY new works until this is done.
And, last but not least, I'm going to try out something a little different with some video content!
But that's all I'll say on the matter right now, so it's a surprise!

Posted 8 years agoSo remember in my last journal how I mentioned that the day I arrived in Wyreema my Mum and I went shopping and we ended up walking around for a solid 5hrs buying presents while I was wearing shoes with dick-all arch support and I actually started feeling the bones in my right foot move uncomfortably?
Welp, I've been back in Brisbane for 4 days and my right foot still hurts to walk on (and in general, tbh) and massaging/stretching it does nothing.
And to make things more worrying, my right foot usually rolls out, right, but I've noticed that now it rolls in.
So that means that when I felt my bones/muscles in my foot move really painfully after all that continuous walking, that it wasn't just my foot getting sore, but something actually got fucked up.
I really hope the doctor I'm seeing tomorrow for to get more drugs will be able to suggest something that will help because I really can't afford a podiatrist lmao
Also the aftermath of drinking half a bottle of rum would be so much easier to deal with if alcohol didn't have so much sugar in it ripFuck [Update-ish]

I brought my tablet and HDD with me to Toowoomba (while visiting my Mum) thinking I could just use her laptop to get some work
(like the two Secret Santa gifts I still need to make) done while I'm up here
Not sure where Mum's laptop is, but the one I'm using to type this here is her bf's ooooold acer
It's so old that I can't install any of my tablet drivers on it because the system isn't supported
Guess I'll have to take a traditional approach and hope Mum has some textas or something
Also I'm running on 2hrs sleep and have been walking around in the heat all day so my feet are pretty much fucked
(no seriously I was walking almost constantly for 5hrs in shoes with no support whatsoever
and towards the end I was actually starting to feel the main bones in my feet digging into the other muscles and tissues around them with every step I took)
Also it's 1.40AM right now and one of my SS gifts is due on the 22nd (American time, I'm about 15hrs ahead) sO RIP ME I GUESS
If I die it's cuz Christmas killed me
But at least the weather's better than BrisbaneWe're Finally There

Every single person in our country now has the right to marry whomever they choose.
Cisgendered gay couples, transgender couples, otherwise gender-diverse couples, the heteros, EVERYONE!
The conservatives fought for the amendments to allow Churches the ability to retain religious freedom to refuse to wed same-sex couples without losing their tax-exempt status,
BUT THEY LOST!
EVERY SINGLE AMENDMENT WAS VOTED AGAINST!
Bob Katter tried to delay it, but it happened anyway.
ALL AUSTRALIANS ARE NOW TRULY EQUAL IN THE EYES OF THE LAW!
I'm so happy and in such a state of disbelief right now that I'm actually crying.
I honestly didn't expect our government to get the job done until I was 50 years old.
Today our country was truly given a better future.

But as soon as I set up my tablet and open SAI it just.. fizzles out, kaput
My whole day has just been
Trying to draw but nothing's working/happening/feeling right
Playing some Path of Exile but then wanting to draw so I close it after my run and set up for arting again
Only to have the same thing happen again
Rinse, repeat.
*sigh*
Whenever I'm not drawing I'm thinking about art, watching speedpaints, feeling inspired, and wanting to draw
But as soon as I open everything up and try to draw, it's just gone
It's like how you walk into a room and suddenly forget what you were going to do in there
So you leave, but then remember what you forgot, go back into the room, only to forget again
It's so frustrating
Plus I'm so behind with owed art right now
Not to mention I've lost a precious Patreon supporter
(which I'm assuming is also because of my lack of art lately)
So I just feel really guilty and like I've been failing people

PayPal Fuckery
Posted 8 years agoSo apparently there's some fuckery happening with PayPal at the moment.
Still not sure whether it's a new policy they've put in or if it's just random flagging that's always been a thing under certain circumstances.
In case it's the latter, apparently something you have to do is mark an order as processed after receiving payment, otherwise you're more likely to have your account flagged as having possible fraudulent activity and all that.
SO
If anyone who has ever commissioned or purchased an adopt from me suddenly receives an email from myself or PayPal on my behalf, please just ignore/delete it.
All I'm doing is going through my past received payments and marking each one as "Order Processed", which is true because you've all received what you paid for.
This is to cover my own ass, and makes the whole Buyer Protection that PayPal offers to be a more substantial service for all involved.
PS - I was able to buy myself a new computer several days ago! Thankyou to those that helped~!I'm Curious~

I'm just kinda entertaining some small thoughts here but I'd love to hear what you guys think about them?
1. Digital Archiving Service
I see a bunch of artists mention from time-to-time that they want to set up an archive of their work but they don't want to do all that monotonous and menial work of going through every single artwork/file themselves.
I'm super ace at organizing things, data entry is my jam, and boring/menial tasks like that are pretty chill for me.
If I were to offer some kind of service like this, would anyone pay me to organize their stuff for them?
Like, either I go through your online galleries and save all the things from there and organize it all by year (heck, even by month if you really want),
Or you could send me an assload of files and I'll organize them based on their file date or idk however you want it to be organized,
And then I just create a zip file and send it back to you or something.
OR I organize your galleries themselves into new/neater folders or something for you, idk.
Would that be something people would be interested in?
2. Making my Patreon Monthly Art Archives available for individual purchase for non-patrons?
I saw someone else had this idea and I thought it was a pretty good one.
If I were to make each monthly archive available for purchase for a one-off fee for those who want to hoard my art but aren't able to support me on Patreon,
would that be something people would be interested in?
Basically, each item would be a month's worth of art, process PDFs, time lapse videos, all in a .zip file
It would be made available after each month passes on Patreon, of course.
Also, would people have recommendations for platforms/sites to use for selling them, if I choose to do so?
3. My Own Bases
Nothing fancy, most likely it would be similar to how Chesta makes bases, with either no or few options available with each one.
They'd probably be relatively cheap, too.
Dunno if I'd be able to make anything good, though. LMAO.
Thoughts?
4. Custom Breeding
I already offer customs, and redesigns, but would anyone be interested in baby making?
Basically, for a set price, I take two of your characters and make three "children" designs based off the two "parents" for you.
You can sell them, gift them, whatever you wanna do with them.
I think this would be lots of fun to do, and I'm curious to see what you guys think?
Basically, this is the sort of stuff that goes through my head when I'm thinking about how to expand my art reach

But I can't work while she's home because she uses it)

I've been wanting to draw so much
Not only so I can get through all the art I currently owe people
But also I just want to draw a bunch of art for my own characters
And like I get all these cute ideas and such
But as soon as I plug in my tablet and open SAI it just kind of.. gets hard to connect my hand to my brain
Like there's a piece missing in the circuit or something
And so I just end up feeling frustrated and sad while nothing gets done
I hate it..
Also I've recently reintroduced my iron supplements into my body
So my guts are just all churning all the time and shit
And it'll take about a week for it to settle down
Not to mention I'm still adjusting to my new hormone dosage
Cuz the dosage is higher but the cycle is longer
1000mg testosterone every 3 months
So I'm getting growing pains and stuff, but also just mood swings every so often
And having to sort of refresh myself on how to deal with minor anxiety and shit
Oh and also my sleep pattern has gone to heck
I went to bed last night at like 1am
Didn't sleep until about 5am
Woke up around 5pm
Was barely up for an hour or two when I fell back asleep and woke up at 11:30pm
I JUST WANNA DRAW AND NOT BE SAD/GRUMPY ALL THE TIMEBIRTHMAS
