Time has flown, didn't realize I was that inactive posting wise for that long. I'm dealing with some personal issues that don't leave me with much interest in creating. Sort of a side effect I suppose. But I'm getting a handle on things and with luck may start doodling again soonish.

But no promises.

Also, I probably have no idea who most of you are irl.
Then again you probably have the same problem re me.
Well whatever. I'll be there, you may be there, good chance we'll see each other and part in blissful ignorance.

Depression is humiliating. It turns intelligent, kind people into zombies who can’t wash a dish or change their socks. It affects the ability to think clearly, to feel anything, to ascribe value to your children, your lifelong passions, your relative good fortune. It scoops out your normal healthy ability to cope with bad days and bad news, and replaces it with an unrecognizable sludge that finds no pleasure, no delight, no point in anything outside of bed. You alienate your friends because you can’t comport yourself socially, you risk your job because you can’t concentrate, you live in moderate squalor because you have no energy to stand up, let alone take out the garbage. Depression is humiliating.
If you’ve never been depressed, thank your lucky stars and back off the folks who take a pill so they can make eye contact with the grocery store cashier. No one on earth would choose the nightmare of depression over an averagely turbulent normal life.
It’s not an incapacity to cope with day to day living in the modern world. It’s an incapacity to function. At all. If you and your loved ones have been spared, every blessing to you. If depression has taken root in you or your loved ones, every blessing to you, too.
Depression is humiliating.
No one chooses it. No one deserves it. It runs in families, it ruins families. You cannot imagine what it takes to feign normalcy, to show up to work, to make a dentist appointment, to pay bills, to walk your dog, to return library books on time, to keep enough toilet paper on hand, when you are exerting most of your capacity on trying not to kill yourself. Depression is real. Just because you’ve never had it doesn’t make it imaginary. Compassion is also real. And a depressed person may cling desperately to it until they are out of the woods and they may remember your compassion for the rest of their lives as a force greater than their depression. Have a heart. Judge not lest ye be judged.

Not that travel time was a real issue but still.

Well it was a good con I presume because it went by in a flash. Saw alot of people. Way lots. Saw many of my friends, missed quite a few in the crowd (see way lots), was gently poked by the good folks at Furplanet to make more comics, not so gently poked by others to make more ANYTHING (well OK porn), ate some good food, ate some not so good food, and generally had a good time.

Would have liked it to be longer so I could have seen and spent some real time with some folks. Would have preferred to avoid some of the cat herding that goes into actually seeing some of the folks I did. I hope I was non-irritating when I wandered up to some busy people to say hi and demand hugs (I'm a big cat, I can do that nhyaaa! ;) )

It was both nice and strange to be wandering the con again. I've gotten used to being behind a table and watching the crowd go by as people come up to visit and get sketches. Didn't draw at all this time. That was strange. Ended up alone more often than I'd have liked but that's more my fault than anyone else's I'm sure. Still couldn't shake the feeling that my presence wasn't completely necessary for anyone but I have issues along those lines.

Anyway - in short and too repeat - overall a good time. Glad to have seen everyone I saw. Hope to see more of the closer ones than I do. Grateful to have seen those that have to travel to get there, and mildly resentful about the pesky way RL works that keeps others from being able to attend.

The Devil you say! The madness is truly upon me!

Since I'm not going to have a table this year at FC and think it'd be nice to extend the opportunity to everyone instead of just con-goers… here we are.

How Many?

On Sunday November 4th I will put up a journal for sketch commissions, respond to that one if you want one, this journal is just a general announcement of intent so nobody will be surprised. To ease myself back into a productive mode I will be taking 5 slots to start. These will be chosen randomly from the respondents should that number exceed 5. If everything goes well more slots will open. I will try to work through the extras that respond before opening new ones.
There will be no color work as I simply do not have the time to do this and I want to keep this going with reasonable turnover time. I hate making people wait. By sketches I mean pretty much everything I post that's not color or cell-shaded as an example.

Da Rules

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason. Now with that unpleasantness aside, good things to avoid asking me to do include but are not limited to – scat, watersports, cub, rape, torture, vore, herms, the insanely obese, overly hyper, and pretty much anything else that I'd be uncomfortable with. Some of this is ethical, most of it practical – as I will just not be able to do a good job with subject matter that I find squicky. You've seen my gallery, you know the kind of things I can do.

How Much?

Sketches will start at $30 USD for up to two characters. Additions such as extensive backgrounds will add $10 as will any character after the second. Once the commission is accepted you will get a small version for final approval. If you approve payment will be due before delivery of the final image, if you don't and want a redraw ½ of the final payment will be required. If you just don't like it then we're just done.

PayPal will be preferred, and be sure not to reference for what in the info. I don't need problems with them.

Well even after leaving the voting open for an extended period it seems there is a tie.
