I'm not usually one to speak like this, but I asked for a sign a few days ago... of anything, it wasn't specific.

Today I decided to take the long way home in order to keep listening to a song for longer with my husband. Not even a minute after turning down the longer road, a coyote ran in front of our path in broad daylight during a moment I was feeling most myself and free and open-- I felt on top of the world.

It was far enough away that it wasn't in danger or a danger to myself and my husband in our Jeep, but also close enough I couldn't mistake it for anything except a coyote. I saw its long legs and gray-brown fur. I did not ask for a spirit totem, but I feel the world has just given me one.

I think I'm going to move more towards YCHs and design sales rather than a commission-specific focus-- at least for the time being. I have ideas and compositions I really want to explore, and I want to be more creative in my posing and such. As much as I enjoy fleshing out the ideas and inspirations of others, I think I have some really interesting ideas to offer, so I appreciate your patience in this time of transition. I also expect to be doing more personal art in the future as I pivot away from commissions as my primary focus in art. I find that the things I want to draw are changing and I want to draw more.. dramatic pieces, I guess is the best way to put it.

I also want to spend more time exploring my inner worlds and sharing them.
There's too many things inside my head that I want to share.

any and all payment from commissions that i receive currently are going towards setting up a home art studio to start creating merch with the primary intention of selling to my local community and probably online as well, we'll see how it goes. everything is still really unsteady, but i'm hopefully optimistic! this has been something i've slowly but steadily been working towards (thanks ADHD) for a little while now.

i'm almost able to afford the printer I want, I'm at about $150/$200 ! c:

i luckily already have a cricut still in its box (for years...),

aaa was rambling but thank you anyone who chose to stick around to see what I've been up to!

tablet has been giving me hell the past week to week and a half or so, but it turns out the port went bad,
which i didn't figure out until the replacement cable i ordered didn't work. luckily i was able to order a phone charger
and (wait another 3 days without my tablet) before i was able to charge the battery directly via the lil charger.

right now i'm gonna focus on trying to save up funds towards a new tablet,
i'm hoping to shoot for the Huion Kamvas 16 2.5K QHD if everything goes well.

i've been using my intuos pro for over a decade so i'm not upset that it's time for it to finally rest. c:

I know I've kind of been neglecting uploading everything since I forget sometimes, but I'm gonna try to be more consistent with uploading.
It's too much stress to try to worry about what I've missed in the past so I'm gonna focus on trying to keep everything in order starting with 2025.
I'm also planning to start utilizing PostyBirb again so I can also keep up with posting on multiple sites again.

Okay, I have a couple minutes to sit down and type this out so I thought I'd give everybody an update on how things are going for me; as it is right now I just got hired for a new job and I start on Sunday. 🎉

I actually have no clue on if I'm part time or full time lol, but I have no idea how much I'm going to be working and it's going to inevitably cut into my commission work time. I have just a couple commissions on my plate at the moment, but as it is right now I'm not sure if/when I'll be taking on more. Good news is I'm excited about the new job and the people I'll be working with give me good vibes so hopefully it goes well! If I don't feel too drained by it I might be able to continue doing a couple comms here and there, but as it is right now-- I just don't know. I won't be making a lot of money but if the job is as enjoyable as it seems so far I think I'll be plenty happy working there.

On a more personal note, I've been having to help my mom a lot the past week and a half or so, my stepfather has been in the hospital for 10 days now and we're not sure if/when he'll be stable enough to come back home. His withdrawals are bad this time and we're just waiting for him to come back to sanity.

I haven't forgotten what I owe, but as everything's kind of up in the air right now, I just can't take anything else on right now.

So the plan is that.. well, I'm a bit burnt out on the bigger pieces for right now.
I've got a lot going on in my personal life, been helping my mom a lot and we're planning a move within the next couple months and
my ADHD has been making it difficult to sit down and work for prolonged periods of time on a single piece for several days at a time.
At the same time I don't like jumping around between commissions because I feel like that makes people end up waiting even longer.


What I'd like to do is start offering wing-its!
Pieces will have light to moderate shading, and can have either pencil or "soft" watercolor lines, and a simple background of my choosing.
By the nature of wing-its they will always remain at least slightly experimental, but I'll never give you a piece that I'm not personally happy with!
All you have to do is give me your character, tell me a bit about who they are and their personality, and a general theme. Posing is up to me.

I'm officially closed for commissions through the end of March, any commissions accepted after this point will likely be completed in April.

I'm not accepting any more full-shades for March, they take an enormous amount of time and effort from me, each takes around a week to complete with my schedule, depending on complexity.

I will also be closing my commissions for a week or so at the end of the month to reevaluate my pricing and commission structure and figure out what I can do to balance my ability to offer quality art for you while still being paid appropriately for my time and effort.

Sometimes my perfectionism is frustrating, but I refuse to compromise on quality for the pieces I create, because I love creating work that I'm personally proud of. I firmly believe that when I create something that I love, it's more likely that you will love it too! And sometimes that takes a little more time than I originally intended.

I've been beating myself up over not working fast enough, but honestly I'm not upset with the quality I'm putting out either. I'm not upset about how that time translates into improving the quality of my work. So it's a bit of a conundrum. I love the work I'm doing, I just beat myself down because I always feel like I should/could be doing MORE if I only worked harder.

But I don't want to burn out either. Doesn't stop the voice in the back of my mind telling me I'm not doing enough. And at that point it's honestly just a dangerous slippery slope into unhealthy rumination and anxieties about myself and my self-worth. I tell that voice to shut the fuck up and 9/10 times it works. But every now and then it gets to me even though I know it's stupid.
